zester_pixel 10 Share Posted March 4, 2012 Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: my account name is zester_pixel. How old are you?: 13 years old, 14 in October. Time-Zone/Country of Residence: GMT/England Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes I believe I do; I am in my top set. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am 13 year old male living in the United Kingdom. I attend year 8 in a good school which has recently become an academy. In my spare time I enjoy either playing RP games or reading fiction books. I am also into table top gaming. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: In year 8 I don't get very much homework for this reason I could spend about 1-2 hours on an average week day but on a weekend I could manage around 4-5 hours at the most. So a guess for the amount of time that I could spend on this server weekly would be about 9-10 hours maybe more. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Role playing is where you create a fictional character and become one with that character, making decisions that varies depending on what your characters personality is like. Role playing is only limited by the amount of imagination a person has for example a person with low imagination would create a bad fictional character. Role playing is a very good way of escaping real life and entering a world of pure imagination. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:I do drama in school. we often do plays where we are different characters, to get a better understanding of our characters we improvise scenes and learn how to react as our character. I understand how RPGs are not proper role play as you dont react to a changeing enviroment, in charater, from other characters who you may meet. Also in RPGs there is only one set path but in this there are more choices to be made to make it a ever changing world for all. I have not had much experiance but I know how it works and belive I am up to the challenge! In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta gaming is where you act upon knowledge which you RP character wouldn't know an example wold be to look through chat rooms to find the co-ordinates of a chest full of diamond. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-gaming is where you enter a game or in this case a server, with the aim of maximising your character’s progress to a specific goal or trying to increase the characters skill level to maximum without paying any attention to the RP story. What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect that this server will be a great for role playing and just generally be a fun place for imagination to run wild. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on some different types of servers such as GoldenPVP and The Killiond Detention Centre but I have also played on my Friend's private server. However, I left all these servers because of griefing, looting and mainly being killed constantly by server ops. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes. I have read and understood the the rules and agree to follow them throughout my role play experience Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I have read the rules and I promise to abide by them. How did you hear about us?: My friend was talking about a great server and he said that it would be a good idea if I along with my neighbour were to apply. Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: I have voted more than once and my first vote number was 4,286 In-Character: Character Name: My name is Elladan What Race are you?:I am an Elf. What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): I am a wood elf who dwells in the forests of Malinor. Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): My name is Elladan son of Elrond, I have a brother named Elrohir. I am quite young for an Elf, only 122 years of age. I have long chestnut coloured hair and eyes as green as emeralds, that’s what my mother used to say. I am well-spoken if I must say the least, yet I have not fully attended school. I say not fully attended because I didn’t remain at this school for too long. It was during my childhood, my brother Elrohir and I were just about old enough to attend an Elven school. I have to admit I was excited because not many wood Elves had the opportunity to enter a school, normally the high Elves were the ones whom attended the schools and academies to get an excellent education. Anyway back to my story. It wasn’t anything as I had expected, not the education standard or the facilities but the other pupils attending. They were all High Elves who had a very strong opinion about two new Wood Elves joining their school; we never seemed to fit in, and not only that but we also ended up in a lot of fights resulting in a lot of beatings from our teachers. In the end we only stayed because we knew that our mother and farther would be proud of us. In till one day we found out. We were fed up of having to stay at school at night so we snuck out. Surprisingly nobody saw us escape however when we returned home we found out that our parents were forced to do hard physical labour to get enough money in order to pay for us to go to school. Soon after hearing of this we quit school and learned to defend what is rightfully ours and fend off enemies (usually a horde of Orcs). I hate Orcs; they seem to think that everything can be solved through senseless violence, quite unlike us. I am most seen with my brother out in the forest because ever since Orcs destroyed my home, we have been looking for new Elven havens, then I found Malinor. Malinor is a place of pure beauty. My parents now live here and we are happy. My brother and I still venture out to this day trying to find the camp of the Orcs that destroyed our home. What is your Character's ambitions?: My ambitions are to find more Elven havens and to just generally help out every city and town that I pass through. What is your character’s favourite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): The simple bow and arrow have always been my favourite tool and always will be. It is a light, fast, agile and powerful weapon perfect for the adventurous types such as me. However I will draw my trustworthy sword if needs be. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? I believe that my most skilled talents lye within my bow, my keen elven eyes allow me to achieve great accuracy. I am also very talented in cooking and preparing meals for my brother and I when we are hungry. He seems to think that he is the master chef but in reality I far surpass his level. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character:That’s about all that my character is. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?I would walk over to them and in the first case try to reason with them and tell them to leave the halfling alone. I would say "Look he hasn't done anything to offend you and if he has you still shouldn't steal from him". If the warriors return to harass him, I will result in using force to make them leave him alone. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well-dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? “Do you have any news of the local area for my brother and I have just arrived and would be happy to assist the town guard if there are any problems” I would say to him. If he were to reply by saying that he only sells items I would reply with: “What materials would a fine gentleman such as yourself possess?” Then he would reply with “we have various fortunes for you ‘ere sir at great prices!” He would then state his ludicrous price and I would say “I apologise however your prices are too high for a travelling Elf” With that I would leave. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:I would wait a while and see if there is an owner yet to return. If one does not return, I would take a couple of iron bars in order to fine my bow and leave the golden sword for I have no need of it. I would also check that my brother Elrohir is not watching for he would not want me to take them. He is not the type for taking things that do not belong to him even if they are abandoned. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I would respond with a simple "hail" and then kindly ask for directions and if it be of the hours of night, ask permission for some hospitality and in return hand over some Minas. When dawn arrives, I would thank them for their kindness then I would leave on m next quest. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offers their support. How does your character act on this information?: I would kindly accept the request and tell the town guard that I have a plan to capture the bandits with minimum casualties. I would follow through with my plan be first sneaking round to the back of their camp at night with a small group of Elves priming some flaming arrows ready to fire at their tents. After the blaze is high, the bandits would flee their tents straight into my trap. My brother and a group of town guard would then smoke them out of their camp with flaming leaf bombs causing the bandits to flee straight in to the town where they would be captured and punished for their crimes. As for the reward, I wold accept it as the money would prove useful in my travels
Repiteo 173 Share Posted March 5, 2012 Denied The powergaming definition you provided is not what we are looking for. Be aware you cannot seek out the orcs for revenge and whatnot, for that would require a VA due to acting as a vigilante. The ORQs are more recollection overviews then actual hypothetical RP occurring. I'm not sure if that was tour writing style or not, but I'd suggest an amendment.
