How old are you?:I am turning fourteen in late-April.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: I live in Indiana and my timezone is Eastern Standard.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes, however, I feel as if it could be a lot better.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: My name is Ryan and I AM growing up in Indiana. I bought minecraft a year back and immediately (with role-play experience from other games) and applied on a server. I learned the ropes of roleplay quick and had a pretty fun couple of months. The server has had it’s demise though and that’s why I am here today.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Up to 15-20 hours.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying to me is a “game” where you create some type of living thing and control it in a realistic way.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: Roleplayed on Grand Theft Auto San Andreas since Late 09, began roleplaying on Minecraft a little more than a year ago.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Metagaming is when you use your out of character knowledge in-game. Example: *I walk down a sidewalk past a stranger* *Stranger stares at me* Stranger: “Hi [enter name here].”

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Basically, it’s doing things that your character is not capable of doing OR it is forcing un-realistic actions on another player.

What do you expect this server will be like?: Very fun and addictive.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Terra Renatus = Shut Down Mesalia = Low player-base and mediocre roleplayers.

Character Name: Eleyond

What Race are you?: Elven

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Eleyond was born in Malinor about fourteen years ago. His family were all archers or scholars. Eleyond’s father was a High Elf. He was tall, had platinum colored hair and had pale-goldish skin. He had love for archery and was an archer. Eleyond’s mother was also tall, but shorter than his father, she also had platinum colored hair, had pale-goldish skin and had a love for politics, but made the decision when Eleyond was born to stay at home and raise him.

Eleyond grew up shorter than everyone else, he had platinum hair, and also had pale-goldish skin. He’ll never speak to an orc, they disgust him and anytime he sees danger, he’ll flee. He is caring for anyone that he thinks is safe, aslong, as there is no danger involved.

As for his life path, his mother wanted him to be some kind of leader of course, while his father wanted him to be an Archer. His parent came to the conclusion, that when he lets out his first word of their tongue, they shall put two blocks in front of him. The block on the left had a bow drawn on it, if he pushed this block away, Eleyond would be taught to be social, friendly and eventually become some type of leader. The block on the right had a scroll drawn on it, if he pushed this block away, Eleyond would be taught to be fierce, fearless and eventually become some type of warrior, most likely a archer.

Eleyond learned to speak faster than his parents thought he would and the day came, that he had to choose. His parents sat him down and placed the two blocks down infront of him. Eleyond stared at the blocks for a couple of moments. He moved his hand towards the block on the left, his mother gasped. He picked it up with both hands and stared at a few moments, he then put it down and moved his hand toward the block the right and did the exact same thing he did with the block on the left. He then moved his hands towards the block on the right and pushed it away, his father was in disbelief and his mother signed in relief, begging to lean down and pick up her son, but, before she did, he moved his hand toward the block on the left, pushing it away.

Eleyond’s parents had no idea what to do, they quickly placed the blocks in front of his, but, he did the exact same thing he did before. His parent’s decided they would try again, when he is more mature. They waited two years and put the blocks in the same positions and his mother asked him, “Which one do you like better?”. He shook his head and said “Neither.”. Eleyond’s parents grew impatient and frequently tried to make him choose, but, every time he refused to choose one. His father and mother came to one last decision. They left Malinor and told him, “You must choose your own path and hopefully, our paths will cross.”. Eleyond doesn’t know what to think and hopes to find his way soon.

What is your Character's ambitions?: He wishes to find his parents and be very socially-active.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): His voice.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Socialism

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Eleyond walks down the path and turns his head to hear two armed warriors harassing a small Halfling. “I have to help…” Eleyond says under his breath. He feels as if his legs are frozen and is a statue. He then thinks of what could happen to him, he quickly runs away, feeling ashamed of what he had witnessed and hadn’t done anything about. He quickly looks for someone that seems more fit to help.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Eleyond smiles as he opens his mouth, letting the words “I would love to buy some food.”. The man replies, “Yes, that’s going to be [enter price here]”. He sighs, “I don’t have that kind of coin..”, he then frowns and his stomauch rumbles. The man sighs, “Looks, I’ll give you some chicken for free, just bite your tongue about it.”, the man gives him the food and Eleyond smiles, “Thank you,” he says, then walking off slowly.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Eleyond travels in the wilds, looking to find anything that looks interesting to him, he sees a small hut and he says, “Anyone in there”, no one responds and he slowly walks into the hut. He looks ahead and sees a locked chest. Eleyond thinks for a moment, then remembers he tripped on a stone on the way here, he hurries to find the place that he had tripped. He looks around, frantically and finds the stone. He hurries back to the hut and immediately, smashes the stone against the lock, breaking it. He opens it to see iron bars and a golden sword. He makes a O with his mouth and then yells, “I’m rich!”. He then feels as if he’s been kicked in the hip and he opens his eyes, to hear, “Hey you!” a dark figure says, “M-M-Me?”, Eleyond replies, “Yes, you, get off the road your dirty piece of scum!” the dark figure replies. Eleyond stands, confused.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Eleyond responds to the man, “Do you have any food around, I am starving.”, his stomach then growls, loudly.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Eleyond, being the type to avoid any danger, hides in his house and a rather large box, feeling ashamed that he isn’t helping his town.

Denied. Powergaming isn't only forcing unrealistic actions upon another player, it's forcing any action upon another player. That's not to say the other player will always be able to counter plausibly, but you always need to give them the option.

For your biography, focus less on the blocks, and more on the experiences that shaped him when growing up.
