This is my second go at an application; my first try, I was told to improve upon the lore details and especially the open response, so I guess we'll see how that turns out!

Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name:

Razortwinky

How old are you?:

16, 17 in November.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

EST/ USA

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

I have a very good grip on the English language.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I'm a 16 year old kid who attends a somewhat rural highschool in NE Ohio. I play trumpet in a few bands, write code on the weekends, and game all the time. I guess you could call that well-rounded.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

In between other games I play and schoolwork, I'd like to say maybe at least 8 hours or more a week. That is, if I enjoy the server, and seeing that I haven't played on the server yet, I'll just have to find out. If it's all its cracked up to be, I'd definitely say 8+ hours.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

If playing on roleplaying servers for over a year has taught me anything, it is that roleplaying isn't about having fun. It's about making sure other people have fun. If everyone follows that idea, then everyone has fun.

As for a definition, roleplaying is the act of taking on the persona of a fictional character for the purpose of creating a voluptuous and nearly tangible fictional environment consisting of lore and interaction.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I have a lot of experience in playing Garry's Mod roleplaying servers (probably about 300 hours of gameplay in roleplaying servers alone), and I have been given above-standard ranks on multiple servers for my exceptional roleplaying abilities. This would be my first MC RP server.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Say, for example, I kill someone. If that person respawns and begins to tell people that I killed him, they would be metagaming. Metagaming is when a person stops roleplaying, and incorporates non-roleplaying knowledge into their role as a player. It is both out of character and unfair.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Being from GMod, power-gaming really isn't an issue - since there really isn't such a thing - but my understanding of it is that you power game when you unfairly play, as in not giving the objective player a chance to retaliate, or roleplay in response to you. If I were to say, "Give me your diamonds" to someone, then begin to kill them after approximately 2 seconds, I would be power-gaming. The person was not able to say "yes" or "no", or even roleplay in response for that matter, before I started murdering them, and for this reason, power-gaming is unfair.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I can only hope it is full of people over the age of 9, and who know how to roleplay well, haha. If your application system does its job, which I assume it probably does (judging from the extensive grammatical guidelines), the quality of game-play on this server is most likely quite high.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

In minecraft, I have played no other servers. I generally don't play any other than my own. I have been inactive on the GMod servers I played on for quite some time now; I left just because I stopped playing. I wasn't bored, I wasn't angry, I just sometimes go in and out of playing different games.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

Yes, I have.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

Indeed, I do.

How did you hear about us?:

I have a friend who plays on the server and basically referred me, but I don't know his name on the server. He's been telling me about how great the server is for about three days now, lol.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?:

No I have not. Do I need to? I didn't really see anything about voting on the main page.

Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-%E2%96%91%E2%96%92%E2%96%93-the-lord-of-the-craft-%E2%96%93%E2%96%92%E2%96%91-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r/):

I'm not sure where to post it now, lol... I guess I'll just post it both places.

In-Character:

Character Name:

Fiktor Darkheart

What Race are you?:

Dwarven

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Forest Dwarf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

(to be read in a slightly scottish accent)

When I was but a wee dwarf, me' parents taught me the values of war. They told me that war its self was a reason to live, that vengeance was a motive, and rage a perspective. They bestowed the teachings of the art of war unto me, and I learned well. I knew how to cripple me' enemies, beat them into submission, use me' surroundings as an advantage, and most importantly, I knew how to defeat me' foes and to carry me' purpose. I was what yeh might call a "prodigy". Life was simple for me; until an elitist Human royalty group made it difficult.

They pushed me' family and I, along with hundred of other dwarfs, off of er' land, a forest near Kal'Dwain. Rebellions were common, yet resistance was futile, as the dwarves were no contest for the well-equipped and well-trained humans. I was devastated; it was like everything I had been taught had meant nuthin', like all of the words carried no weight. I watched as me' parents, submissive and oppressed, descended into shame and disrespect as they attempted t' make home in a slum ghetto in the desert, filled with many dwarven families such as er' own. Everything they stood for had been defiled, desecrated, and the we er'selves felt violated and degraded. Food was scarce in the ghetto, and crime was high. Life, to say the least, was not going well fer' us.

Then came the fighting arena. It was like putting a cy'nide-candy store in a village of starvin' humans, the dwarves could not resist the urge to indulge, even if it would cost them ther' lives. The thing was, it wasn't the war that had them int'rested; it was the money. Me' father, Ordrick, was an exceptional fighter, and after much talking between he and me' mother, he decided his odds were in his favor of winning, and thus he enrolled. Me' father was exceptional. Th'best in the ghetto, and for some time, there was food on er' table. We even were able to purchase a home that wasn't made of dirt and straw. Howev'r, Ordrick's name quickly became well-known, and dwarves were so fearful to face him that entry rates began to drop substant'ly. The arena owners, a group of profit-driven royal High Elves who owned multiple arenas, were not happy about this, and, unbeknownst to myself or anyone at the time, the bast'rds rigged me' father's next competition, giving him faulty armor. Ordrick was killed, and we were devastated. While Ordrick was alive, he had the respect of many dwarves. When he was dead, he had the respect of none, and we had even less. Me' fath'r had taken many lives, and the other dwarves didn't see his situation in light.

Things started to go downhill for us again, me' moth'r and I were treated as outcasts; nobody even bothered to look at us. Me' moth'r, bless 'er heart, simply could not handle the shame and sorrow, and took her own life, leaving me, a 12 year old dwarven child, with nothing but me' home and me' shame. I became a petty thief, and succumbed to the tempting deeds of poverty. For street rats, word travels around quickly, and when news leaked of me' fathers rigged death, I became enraged and strewn with emotion. I resented the High Elves that took me' father and me' mother away from me. I resented the Human group that had pushed everyone in this slum into this wretched envir'nment. I resented everyone that mistreated me. I hated everything and everyone. I left the slum and started a new life. Nothing mattered to me except starting over and getting away from everyone. That was, until I finally remembered what I was taught, and I knew my purpose. I remembered that vengeance was a motive. I remembered that rage was a perspective. I remembered that war was a lifestyle, and from then on, I devoted me' life to war. Me' mind is clear and me' purpose is true; I now seek revenge upon the disgrace of nobility and their injustices.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

Fiktor wants to dismantle all nobility and wants to avenge his parents. He despises Elves and Humans, for reasons stated in the bio.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

Definitely the sword.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

The ability to be charismatic and to recruit a following of outcasts to help him defeat his enemies.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format):

Dwarf Hunter skin_12022103024565403both.png

I wanted my character to look like some kind of loner bandit. I'd make it myself but I'm not too good at skin creation.

Other Information about your Character:

Very demanding, gets what he wants, and doesn't take no for an answer. Avid fighter, and always likes the company of his peers, but doesn't get too close to anyone. Fiktor is not evil, but he is aggressive and doesn't take kindly to those of nobility or royalty. He would help anyone being assaulted by an upper class, but would not help an upper class being assaulted by some peasants. He might work with upper class if they looked like they had respectable values and ethics.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Fiktor- "Ey', what'r you do'in o'er there to that poor wee halfl'ng?"

Warriors- "Get out of here before we pummel you, you worthless peasant!"

Fiktor's eyes cast down as his face fills with anger.

"Ye' should prob'ly get yer' wimpy arse outta' here before I make ye' a new face!"

Warriors- "Ha!" *draws their swords fiercely

Fiktor draws his sword and says "I ain't a plastic surgeon... But this is a good place t'start!"

Both warriors swing and miss. Fiktor cuts them badly, and they limp away.

The end.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Fiktor- *with a slight grimace* "Evenin'. Have any wares today that could be of use?"

Merchant- "I do believe so!" *produces a diamond shovel from his inventory

Fiktor- "Hm, I don't believe i'd be needed one of those. Sorry t'bother."

Merchant- *with a forced smile "Very well, then, do have a nice day."

Fiktor walks off

The end.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

*Fiktor looks around to make sure it is abandoned and nobody is watching. He notices that his iron sword is dwindling in its durability, so he makes for the chest, and opens it up. Fiktor takes two iron bars, creates a new iron sword, and leaves 2 loaves of bread in return, just to be polite. Fiktor then leaves the hut and travels on.

The end.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Fiktor- "'ello, finally, I've been lost for hours, do ye' have any food to spare? I presume this might pay for whatever ye' got?" *reaches into his pocket lethargically and removes a gold bar.

Trader- "Of course! That'll get ye' 5 loaves of bread, dwarven child." *trades gold bar for 5 bread loaves.

Fiktor- "Thank ye', that'll do. Anywhere I might get some rest 'round here?"

*trader points to a large open tent filled with hay beds and straw pillows.

Trader- "Ye' can sleep there for the night, no charge, out of the goodness of er' hearts."

Fiktor- "I thank ye', ye' have done me a great service, kind fellow."

*Fiktor walks over to the tent, eats 4 loaves of bread, and lays down to sleep.

The end.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Guard Recruiter- "Hello there young dwarf, we are in need of recruits to fend off a group of bandits from our noble Ingroth's town, will you lend aid?"

Fiktor- "Aye, ye' won't be getting any of my help. I've had my fair share of yer' kind. Arrogant. Selfish. I'll be no part of such a damn'd thing."

Guard Recuiter- "Fine then, be off, miserable little forest dwarf."

*Fiktor leaves the town to assist the bandit group in their raid.

The end.

Crossing my fingers!
