I'm an old school tabletop gamer looking for an online experience that would offer a more deeper RP experience. I love minecraft and I've been eyeing LotC and today I decided to join. Looking to invest for a gold package to further my RP experience, but I want to see if I would need it first. I've rped offline a lot with D&D and Champions but refuses to larp.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

6 to 10 hours maybe, my gaming is a bit fluid, I usually just set a day or 2 for it.

In your own words, define what the act of Roleplaying is:

To take up the role of a character in a game and embody that character's traits, flaws and behavoir as the game progresses. I like to view it as investment acting where the more you stay in your role the more you get out of the experience and journey deeper into the story.

In your own Words, define what the act of Metagaming is:

Meta-Gaming is the act of trying to gain information while Out of character and then using that information in game usually towards his/her advantage, like learning about a location and asking about how to find while OOC.

In your own Words, define what the act of Powergaming is:

Powergaming is when a player steamrolls over the game and other characters to perform a particular act or power move. This is usually done by stating an action and the effect of that action all in one message without letting anyone else respond to it or act against it, limiting the other players'ability to rp.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: It's been awhile and I don't remember which ones they were, It's nearly been a 2 years since I played on a server due to school and Mass Effect :P

How did you hear about us?: I saw videos of LotC on Youtube, ones on the old Aegis and the Whispering Isles.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

The Corvanis were a family from a far away land, after a great war and their defeat they were chased into exile and onto the great ocean with by their enemies. With a fleet of ships they sailed for their lives. For years they sailed until eventually the fleet got seperated, scattered into the four winds.

Cassius'ship runs into a massive storm that destroys it and sends it to the bottom of the ocean. Cassius manage to survive and swim for miles to the nearest shore, which ends up to be Asulon.

Cassius looks as if he's at the end of his youth, He looks like a season veteran. He has dark hair and a very light tan gained from his years at sea. He would have been attractive if vanity was the first this in his mind but it isn't giving him a slight stuble and dark bags under his eyes. He has deep dark eyes.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

With the Corvanis destroyed Cassius transformed his lastname from Corvanis to Corvane to plans to establish House Corvane and find other Corvanis who he believes foun their way to Asulon and convince them to join him and his House and regain their former glory.

Cassius prizes his bow.

Cassius was a trained archer, he had served in the war. Other than the fact that they were defeat and had to flee. He still retain much of his skills from before.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Cassius knows full well if he confronts the 2 bandit with a halfling that there's a big chance of him loosing. He would take the offense and with the element of surprise. Cassius would find a spot that's hidden enough, high enough, far enough and behind the bandits. He would signal the halfling from behind his attackers and let him know to be quiet and not give him away. Cassius would take aim and fire arrows at the bandits and while they are distracted by his attack and are turned away. The halfling would take this time to run. Cassius knows it would be a risk to stay fight runs as soon as he see the halfling leave. As the bandits tries to find him, reach him and come after him. He would vanish in the nearby woods and as they turn back to their prey they would find him long gone.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Cassius would answer back with a greeting of his own, he lets the mechant know that he's a traveller and that he just looking around, if there one thing he would ask for, he would ask for an inn or tavern to rest in, but he would be as vague as possible keeping to his own business and out of the business others.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Cassius would close the chest and leave things as he found. He wouldn't steal items that aren't his nor would he want the owner to know that someone been through his hut.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Cassius would greet them back and would humbly ask for food, in exchange for something like labor or trade. If they refuse; he would just ask for directions and he would leave them be and continue on his way.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Cassius would rather not be seen acting like a mercenary, He would offer his services and skill for no reward at all. He would gladly join the ranks of the town guard as as long as their plight is righteous.

Why did I deny you?

Your powergaming definition was incorrect. This is a roleplaying server, where you make your own path, not an RPG where you select skills, grind mobs, etc. This is a server that we use our imaginations on! The form of powergaming you mentioned was the type only seen in RPGs.

You speak of a 'far away land'. There is only Aegis and Asulon, there are no other huge islands. Your character cannot be sailing from a land that does not exist.

You answered your ORQs in the future tense. Your character is there right now, in that situation, and he is acting right now. There is no 'I would' there is 'Cassius IS'. For he is there, and he is in that circumstance.
