Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

I was born in Aegis in the days when there were but four nations. I of course hailed from Malinor and was born in the city of Ravenhold. My family was not particularly wealthy nor particularly poor. We father was a clerk who worked a local business in the town. My mother was a baker and she ran a small little bakery on the bottom floor of their house. I still remember the smells that would come from downstairs. They were such wonderful smells that I treasure to his very day. Nobody made bread quite like my mother. To this very day, nothing even comes close to it. My childhood in Malinor was a rather happy one, and a rather sleepy one as well. Things rarely changed in Ravenhold. People from the rest of Aegis almost never came to visit the sleepy little place. It was the perfect place for one to grow up, but not for adventure. I craved adventure and excitement. Both were in extremely short supply in Ravenhold. I spent my early years trying to make trouble. Since I was the middle child of a family of three brothers, I never gathered much attention. I was a prankster and I amused myself with humorous actions. Those were the glorious days before all the chaos of the undead and the fall of Aegis.

When I was 30 years old, my family gave birth to my only sister. Her name was Stral’don. I still remember when she was first born. I looked at that little wrinkly thing and thought about what an odd creature she was. As she grew older though, we became the closest any two siblings could ever be. Together we played many pranks on the unsuspecting denizens of the town. My favorite was when we put purple dye into the city’s river. Alas, like all good things it had to pass. When I was just 75 years old, Stral’don disappeared. She was managing the bakery as everyone else was traveling to the Cloud Temple and when we all returned, she was nowhere to be seen. For months, we searched desperately for her but to no avail. Nobody knew where she had gone. We all grieved for her loss, but eventually we all had to move on.

However, the innocent days of before had faded away. Nother was ever the same after that. Soon after Stral’don disappeared, I left Ravenhold to seek my fortunes elsewhere in Aegis.

For years, I wondered about Aegis traveling and taking in all the sights there. The first place that my travels led me to was the city of Al’khazar in the human nation of Oren. Al’khazar was a bustling metropolis that was a far cry from anything that Ravenhold could offer. My first job there was for the Golden Harvest. It was a merchant company located just outside the city. I worked as a guard, which mostly consisted of escorting farmers and merchants around the city and surrounding areas. I did that job for around 20 years before I became bored and left. Now by the time I left the Golden Harvest, there had been whisperings throughout the city of terrible things happening in the North. That was the start of the scourge that would become the undead. I wasn’t really concerned with that at the time. I was homesick and wanted to come back to Ravenhold. As I had suspected, not much had changed there. My mother still had her bakery and my three brothers had become merchants in Lauralin. They welcomed me home and rejoiced at my return, it was different than it had been back when Stral’don was around. The atmosphere was more tense, more strained. Things were relatively quiet in the years after I returned to Malinor. I eventually joined the wardens and help protect the forests from all that would threaten it. Warden duty was not particularly hard or strenuous, but it kept me busy enough.

I became rather skilled with the bow in my warden years, but I was alway in the middle of the pack when it came to archery. Nothing that exciting happened during that time. At least not until the very end. When Al’khazar fell, all the wardens were placed on high alert and we stood ready to defend the nation against the undead scourge. The first undead attacks on Malinor were devastating to our numbers and coordination. Soon, the wardens were all but wiped out as an effective fighting force. Even Ravenhold could not escape the wrath of the undead. These were the last days of Aegis. I tried to evacuate my family as best I could, but we were trapped in the ever growing cloud of toxic miasma. Only I was able to escape and make it into the verge as Aegis collapsed.

After the fall of Aegis, my life became a blur. Nothing mattered anymore. I wandered from city to city doing odd jobs and the such. Though I was alive, I felt that part of me had been left in Aegis with my family. For the first few years, I lived in Alras in a small house next to the reformed church. I didn’t have a job, and lived off of the few remaining funds that remained after Aegis was destroyed. Soon, my remaining funds ran dry and I was evicted from my home for not paying the tax. Often times, I would move from city to city looking for work or adventure. I worked in Azar for a bit before it was destroyed. I earned barely enough money to get by hunting in the Cloud Forest. It was a hard life, but I didn’t care. Nothing seemed to matter. Eventually, I decided I had enough. I decided to leave the mainland and seek my fortunes elsewhere.

Open-Response-Questions

Answer at least three out of five listed

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Tanyl looked at the situation and thought for a moment. He knew that revealing himself and standing up for the Halfling would most likely end in both of their deaths. His first instinct would be to simply abandon the halfling to his fate, but his conscience would convince him to do something for him. Since a direct approach would not be the smartest choice against two armored and armed men something more sly would have to be thought of. First, Tanyl got of out of sight and tried to hide behind a tree or in some brush. His time with the wardens would prove particularly beneficial here as wardens were be strained to use the forest and their surrounding as cover. The hiding spout was meticulously chosen to both provide cover for him as well as provide a good view of the event unfolding. Though arrows were expensive and Tanyl hadn't hunted at all yet, he decided to take one out of his quiver and aim it at one of the robbers. As he was taught durring his years in the wardens, he aimed at the center of his body making sure that even if his aim was off it would still most likely hit one of the bandits and completely miss the beleaguered halfling. As was expected the arrow simply bounced off the armor and landing softly on the ground nearby. However, the arrow served its purpose. The two men were now distracted from where the mysterious arrow had come from. They let the halfling escape and began to search for the mystery archer. Since fighting the two men would still be a bad idea, Tanyl would move from his original hiding spot and hurry back to the cloud temple where the bandits would not dare follow.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?-

Tanyl looked longingly at the merchant’s wares. Some of his items reminded him of his old home in Ravenhold. One item in particular that struck him was a small silver bell. The silver bell recalled the golden days before the undead and before Stral’don vanished. Every time someone enter Tanyl’s family’s bakery it would trigger a small bell to ring. The one right in front of him seemed almost identical to that one “How much for the bell?” Tanyl asked. “6000 minas sir.” The Merchant replied. Tanyl sighed and left the vendor’s stall thinking about the life that he lost. Over the course of the next few months, Tanyl would hunt in the cloud forest and make just enough money to buy the bell from the merchant once again.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:-

Tanyl slowly opened the door in the woods. The home had a fine layer of dust on it that indicated that the home had not been used for quite some time. From the looks of everything, the home had not been used in quite a long time. All of the chests in the house were empty except for one under the bed which the occupant had most likely had forgotten about in the quick departure from the home. Tanyl looked down at the golden sword and few iron ingots placed within. Tanyl picked up the sword and swung it around a few times. Since he is not a much of a swordsman, he looked very clumsy with it. Tanyl would spend the night in the small hut. The following morning, he would leave and return to his home with the golden sword hoping to sell it off to some guards or blacksmiths. The iron bars he would leave behind because they would be much heavier than the sword alone.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?
