Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

Well, my name is Mason, and I am 17. My hobbies are the Violin and Lacrosse, and I am aspiring to be a professional violinist when I get out of school! I've been a Mod of many a RP server, though none on Minecraft.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

I could spend probably.. About seven or eight hours, for the last couple weeks of school? Afterwords, (during the summer) I'll be able to spend much more! Most likely some time between 14 to 16 hours a day!

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

To me, Role Playing is to take on a fictional character's role in the world, adding to the overall plot of the worlds story, be that in Adventuring, Battling, or just some simple mundane farming and trading.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I've had experience roleplaying over a variety of media, including Dungeons&Dragons, Starcraft 2 (Cortex RP!), Minecraft, and Gaia Online's forum-based RP.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Meta-Gaming, taking information from Out-Of-Character discussion (OOC) into the In Character (IC) dialogue.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Power-Gaming is to be Over-Powered in one or more skillsets, such as.. (As an exaggerated example..) "NOPENOPENOPE! YOU CAN'T KILL ME BECUZ I HAVE A MAGICAL SHIELD, SEE? I'M A WIZ@RD N00B!".. Exaggerated, but still, it's happened to me before..

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect it to be substantially more In-Depth than most servers, because of the amount of publicity that this server has gotten. Most Minecraft RP Servers spend most of their time OOC just building their cities or houses or some such, but seeing as the world is already quite filled in, I suspect there will be a much more engaging and dynamic RP Community.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I've played on the following servers ; HollowWorld, Tanelorn, and Romecraft. I left the first two because it became far too PVP-based. They both ended up becoming extremely Faction-Related, and the arguements and hate between them just became too much. Romecraft, on the other hand, essentially shut down. All the original members moved on after there was a problem involving the owner and his lack of attention to the community, and in the end it just became too aggravating having to deal with people who just simply didn't know how to properly RP.

In-Character:

Character Name: Baelen Orinson

What Race are you?: Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Baelen is a Northerner

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Baelen had an average life back in Aegis, on a small farm just south of Galahar. Hee tended his fields, paid his dues, and had a happy family. Sure, there would be the occasional wandering Adventurer to come spend the night, but other than that? His was that of an average peasant.

Then, one night from the echoing darkness, the Monsters came. Horrific, breathtaking monsters. Having given to the simple man's life, he only heard of such creatures in the whispers and tales of drunken bards and wandering adventurers, but now he knew it to be true. The night of the first encounter, flesh eating monsters broke down the door and attacked Baelen's wife. Despite his struggles against the dark fiends, his wife, the love of his life, was ripped apart before his eyes. In blind rage, Baelen grabbed a scythe from the Barn and rushed back into the house, decapitating and hacking apart the vile creatures. That was when he noticed, his son was gone.

Rushing out of the farm where the corpses were strewn, Baelen looked up into the sky with a horrified expression. Giant, ghastly creatures floated in the sky, with his Son entangled in on of their leachy, disgusting tentacles. He could hear his son's crys for help, as the creatures flew off towards the City. That was when Baelen's choice was decided. He must go to Galahar, and assist in battling these dark fiends. Even now, it was clear that the Darkness was growing stronger and bolder.

The next few months were a haze. Basic training went a few weeks before finishing unexpectedly when the drill sergeant was shot through the head with a skeletal arrow, and the troop was forced to leave for the front early. Untrained and unknowing, Baelen and his fellow comrades fought their hardest, both taking heavy casualties but at the same time, gaining much experience under the extreme pressure. Over this time Baelen grew accustom to the swinging of a sword almost as much as his trusty scythe. But this did not distract Baelen from the true reason that he joined the King's troop. To find his son, and avenge the love of his life.

To find his son, he knew he'd have to retake the outlying villages with his fellow soldiers, and to defeat the dark casters who besieged it. It was only a few days later that he heard that a group of the King's Men had discovered one of the Undead's dreaded lairs, with a young boy matching that of his son's description hunched over, his throat torn open. Then the Evacuation order came, the city was to be abandoned. And as Baelen had learned in his experiences as a soldier, he began to pack his few possessions immediately. That was when he appeared. The hooded man. At first, Baelen believed it to be an undead summoner, come to finish him off. But, as the hooded man's hand crept closer, Baelen felt the tug of unconciousness, only to wake to the sound of rain's soft patter on the roof of the Cloud Temple.

What is your Character's ambitions?: To return to a stable way of life, and to be able to make his (deceased) Family proud.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): He is most skilled with a Sword, but is more accustomed to a Scythe or Hoe, for he is a Farmer.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Hunting and Gathering.

Other Information about your Character: Baelen is a very sarcastic, and even a bit Sadistic, due to the horrors he watched while serving the King in Galahar.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Walking up to the two bandits, Baelen would glance at them, twitching as he recalled situations similar to this in his old life. "I didn't see anything.." he'd mutter, as he walks away. He knows better than to get involved, all he wants is a normal life, not to be a Hero.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Giving the merchant a polite smile, Baelen would shrug, "What are your wares, and how much do they cost?" Baelen knows it would be wise to befriend the merchant, knowing that in order to start a new stable life, he would be requiring plenty of supplies.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Sniffing, he'd scratch his stubble. "I have no need for gold.." He'd sigh, glancing at the iron bars. "But.. No. I will work my way as any honest man would.. Hmph.." He'd then proceed to leave the shack, sighing.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Collapsing onto the ground, he'd look up, giving them an appreciative nod as they come to help him up. When asked if he'd like anything to eat, Baelen would humbly accept, but no more than would be polite, if only because of his pride.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Baelen would be interested, and decide to assist. Though he was not looking for trouble, the reward could very well be the boost he'd need financially to live a comfortable life afterwords. Besides, he had been like these fellows once, poor and in need of assistance.
