Out-Of-Character

Main Minecraft Account Name: capt0z

Alternate Minecraft Account Name: Frosted_Petal

In your own words, define what the act of Roleplaying is: Role-playing is more than just adopting the role of another character. Role-playing is stepping into their metaphorical shoes, removing yourself from the equation to act as your character would, in an ideal situation without any bias from you personally whatsoever.

In your own Words, define what the act of Metagaming is:

Metagaming is the act of using out-of-character information in an in-character situation. In relation to Lord of the Craft, some examples could be abuse of the OOC channel, using nameplates to identify another player, or misuse of the forums. In all of the mentioned situations, you are taking information you personally know, but your character would have no way of knowing. For example, your character cannot see a floating nameplate above every head.

In your own Words, define what the act of Powergaming is:

Powergaming on Lord of the Craft commonly comes in two forms. The first is an overpowering of the character, refusal to apply drawbacks or downsides to their character, and just being an untouchable super-badass in general. For example, a 10 foot tall human who can dodge every strike leveled at him like lightning and kick with the force to shatter armour. The other main kind is controlling other characters not your own, often by refusing to give them either an opporunity or time to react, such as "Lily unsheathes her dagger, plunging it into his throat with a grunt", or "Lily grabs the man, throwing him to the ground as she leaps on top of him".

In-Character:

Character Name: Lily

What Race are you?: Elf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Wood Elf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Lily had an uneventful childhood, raised by her family, who ran an inn outside of Al’Khazar. They fled Aegis with the other survivors, sailing to Asulon across the ocean, where her parents spent no time in expressing interest in starting another inn. Lily, having been tied to one for her entire life, and seeing the fresh, new land awaiting her, chose against it, parting ways with her parents, who reluctantly agreed, understanding they could not keep her forever.

Venturing out into Asulon for the first time, alone and unburderned, she looked upon the mysterious and unknown land, awaiting her exploration. Delighted, she set off, following the masses of people along the roads until they led her to a town. The town's name was Solace, a name she soon learnt was bitterly ironic. Thieves and bandits were everywhere, thriving off the townspeople, the guards either unwilling or unable to do anything. It was in Solace she learnt to use a dagger for the first time, both in her hand and sailing through the air. Finding herself amongst a group of women who seduced the wicked men to survive, Lily learnt from them their skills. A word or two could be more powerful than an army of bandits, she realised as she came to terms with the her own capabilities.

Their relatively slow life was ended when war came to Salvus. Fleeing with her girls, Lily often now resides in or around the Wilven Sanctuary. She is a 6 ft 11 wood elf around the age of 103 human years, with cocoa dark skin. Her is naturally a brunette, but dyed her hair a fiery orange long ago in order to make herself stand out more. She often wears a red dress, sometimes adorned with jewlery, usually a necklace adorned with a purple gem and thick gold bracelets. Her eyes are a sky blue, and she enjoys the company of women, dismissing and mistrusting men, but sometimes enjoying to lead them along and toy with them.

What is your Character's ambitions?: Aside from finding a life-long partner for herself, Lily thinks very little in the long term, preferring to overcome each day as it comes.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Lily.png

Other Information about your Character: She is rather neutral, unwilling to involve herself in any activity with a potential risk to herself with other people, preferring to keep her distance and safety, but willing to draw her dagger to fight for her life.

Open-Response-Questions

Answer at least three out of five listed

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Lily catches sight of two armed and armoured men in the distance, travelling along the road to the ruin of Solace and the nations of Renatus and Hansetti. She intially tries to hide herself somewhere she might tease them from, but quickly realises they're interesting in something else. Approaching cautiously, Lily grins as she sees the men, assuming they are bandits harassing the halfling for minas.

Smirking to herself, Lily stoops to pick up a stone, hurling it at the men, flying within a metre of one's ear. Turning to see the source of the disturbance, he is less lucky with her second throw, catching him square in the forehead. The other man turns at his yelp, spotting Lily as the first man picks himself up off the ground on which he fell from her throw, vemon in his eyes.

Lily acts oblivious to their anger, words dancing teasingly from her tongue to taunt them "Oh, great and mighty men, capable of bringing their iron will down upon a mere halfling. I've been so desperate for a man like you~".

The men, apparently less intelligent then she thought, exchange sick grins, then striding towards her as she flees, leaving them with naught but her gentle giggles.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Lily waves her hand dismissively at the man, uninterested in his wares, simply passing the time while she waits for one of her friends. The shopkeeper, seeming riled at this, drags himself up from his chair, crossing over to her " 'scuse me miss", he chortles, feigning politeness, "But I think ye might 'ave the wrong store. I'm sure the brothel right o'er there will suit ye' just fine", pointing in jest to a building across the street.

Lily's hand rests on her dagger on instinct, wary of him trying something on her. She remains impassive, meeting his face with a cold gaze before turning heel and striding away from the stall, crossing to the establishment in question and turning to wink mischievously at the storekeeper, choosing to wait ouside of it instead of browsing his wares.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Lily glances down at the contents of the chest, completely unintersted in the items layed out before her. "Iron and gold", she mutters to herself, "Men's tools. No doubt to fashion more tools to kill each other". Gazing around at the small dwelling, Lily can't help but wonder of the occupation of a man who would live in such a small dwelling and yet own a fine golden sword. Shrugging uncaringly, she turns to leave the hut.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Lily glances as her stomach softly moans in front of the men, loathing to ask them for help, but seeing no other option besides starving to death. "I... I'm hungry" she manages, acting weaker than she feels, for in the case of a fight, it is better for them to underestimate her than her them. One of the traders nods, motioning to one of the others, who presents her with a loaf of bread. Lily thanks them all greatly for their kindness, accepting their offer to stay at the camp for the night.

"In return, though", the trader says "Ye' would be happy to work for us on the 'morrow?".

"Of course", Lily smiles innocently, having no real intention staying any longer than after they have all fallen asleep.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Lily frowns as she hears the guards shouting for volunteers, making her dispproval apparent. "Men will be men", she sighs to herself "Bloody and violent as always", turning to leave the crowd and bumble back inside the city without a second thought.
