Out-Of-Character

Just so you know, I have completely re-done the application. I did the other two late at night, and after looking over it at lunch I found a MILLION mistakes. Sorry for the other terrible applications. Hope this one is better.

Minecraft Account Name: Kaesnoww

How old are you?: 13

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Australia

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I like to think so. I like to spell things correctly and to always improve my spelling and grammar.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a male. I am a quiet person. I like cats, I dream of becoming a musician or Youtube partner and I enjoy being sentimental and silent and I play electric guitar and I plan on making Elves just as popular as Dwarves!

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I am usually on minecraft from 5-7 days a week depending on if I have extra schoolwork or other important things.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is something that game players do to escape the real world and be who they want to be. I have been a fan of roleplaying since my early childhood and I have always wanted to find a character that reflects me, but also one that has its own personality. You create a brand new person, and live as them in their world and like they would.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have fairly limited role-playing experience, although that is only because I have focused on single player mainly until recently.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Sorry for my previous answers, I thought I knew what Meta gaming was, but I was thinking of something else. I looked it up, and Meta gaming, it turns out, is ‘Using information you learnt OOC IC’. Ordinarily, you would have no way of knowing these things, and when you Meta game it completely defeats the purpose of role-playing.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Again, I am sorry for the hopeless definition. Power gaming is, while role playing, you do not give others around you a chance to react or respond. If you were going to arrest someone as a guard, then to power game would be to say *Me trips thief, and shackles him with extra-strong unbreakable handcuffs.* That is a pretty un realistic example, I know, but it was the first thing that came to my mind.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I am hoping it will be a nice server, and a place where, as a Lord Of The Rings fan, I can create one of my own characters, and play out my own story. I am also pretty sure that the moderators and admins won’t abuse their power, and you are free to do what you want (within the server laws, obviously).

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on few other servers as I prefer to stick with respectable servers rather than join lots of different servers and just leave the bad ones. But I have left a few servers such as Fantasy war because I simply didn’t see the point of it as it had no real goal or any reason to continue. I liked the idea of choosing an empire/race (This is also what attracted me to Lord of the Craft) but the server was always empty and I never saw any other players or any buildings, towers and so on. I have left other servers because of the tutorial at the beginning; it is often filled with iron doors with buttons, which my computer does not agree with. When I try to open the doors and pass through them, I just glitch back to the beginning and it takes a very long time to finish. I absolutely HATED the tutorial on Brothercraft. It involved many different multiple choice questions and Iron doors with buttons. When I had finally reached the end, I had to input 4 digits that had been on the signs somewhere back in the tutorial. I eventually made it through simply because I had other friends on the server I wanted to play with.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have thoroughly read the rules and have agreed to them. Also, I really like how the rules are tight, but not constricting, and separate the true role-players from trolls. (It took a while for my verification email to arrive so I took the time to read them while I was waiting)

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and TeamSpeak set Rules: I am the kind of person who is forever guilty of something that I have done wrong, even if it doesn’t come back to haunt me. I promise to abide by the rules and laws. I have also never been banned on a server and this will not change.

How did you hear about us?: I heard about you from a friend of mine who plays on this server called Thrain_Ironmail. He told me about its wonderful variety of roles that a player can choose and when another friend of mine, SlayerOfBrooms got accepted, I couldn’t resist and thoroughly had a look at it.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: I have made a previous application before: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/56045-kaesnowws-second-application/page__p__435128__fromsearch__1#entry435128

In Character:

Character Name: Acharnor Change

What Race are you?: Elf

What Sub-Race are you? (Note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): High Elf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Acharnor is the second son of Erynor. His only brother, Kalzar, and him had a rough childhood and few friends. Their father never cared for them, and their mother was rarely around. They had to find their own fun by playing with the village children. These children had problems of their own, and often tried to tempt Acharnor and his brother into thievery and this was frowned upon by the siblings’ Father. Acharnor was guilty at first, but after no consequence and a childhood with no love, he ran away from his home with his brother to live life as a thief.

In their late teenage years, Acharnor and Kalzar were planning to raid a bandit camp and take gold, food and any other supplies they might need. They crept into the camp at night, when the bandits were asleep and snuck into the tent that contained the bags. Acharnor went for the food bags while his brother went for the gold. As they were about to leave, one of the bandits awoke to see the brothers. Before Acharnor could do anything, Kalzar had leapt at the bandit and started choking him to death. ‘What are you doing!?!?!?’ Acharnor yelled at his brother. ‘Keep it down!’ Kalzar whispered back. ‘Let go of him!’ Kalzar sensed the sound of anger in his brother’s voice and snarled at him while continuing to strangle the Orcish bandit.

Acharnor was a thief, and he wasn’t proud of it, but nor was he regretful. Taking another’s life though, was over the line for Acharnor and in desperation he lunged at his brother, tackling him and freeing the gasping bandit who fled to warn the sleeping Orcs. Kalzar threw Acharnor off and followed the blow through with a punch to his chest. Acharnor backed off, right into the tough looking Orcish chief; the former victimized bandit threw Acharnor out of the tent and onto the cold forest floor as Kalzar tumbled out of the tent only seconds later. Both brothers stood up together, clutching some part of their body in pain. Before Kalzar could throw another punch, Acharnor shouted ‘Wait, we will return your goods!’ at this, the bandits lowered their weapons. As Acharnor sensed acknowledgment he continued, ‘We will return your goods only if you let us go free’. Acharnor dropped his bag onto the ground and frowned at his brother until he did the same. They both backed away slowly with their hands on their heads until they were at a safe enough distance to turn and run. ‘Sorry, but I don’t think we’re going to work out as a team anymore’ Kalzar said as they panted for breath. ‘I understand, time to go our own separate ways then’ Acharnor stated. Kalzar simply nodded as the two walked in the opposite direction to eachother. Kalzar headed to the east, whilst Acharnor headed to the west.

Acharnor has not seen his brother since, and that was 13 years ago.

What are your Character's ambitions?: Acharnor’s one ambition is to once again find his long lost brother. He wishes to find him, so that they may once again be reunited. After that, he hopes to make a difference to the land of Asulon, and join the military of Alras.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (Sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): My character prefers to use either a sword and/or a bow as he tries to carry as little as possible so he can escape faster than if he was carrying a battle axe. Swords are not hard to conceal and carry in public places. Bows can also be thought of as hunting weapons so they can be carried around without people suspecting anything.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Acharnor is a thinker more than he is a fighter, he can hold his own in fight, but he prefers to talk things through or find a safer alternative. He is faster than normal warriors as he is used to sprinting long distances.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format):

Other Information about your Character: Acharnor is not easily angered and cannot be tricked into doing something that other, more greedy men before him might have fallen for.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Acharnor walks up to the warriors and jumps in front of them before they can further harm the halfling. ‘Now, now guys, leave the little guy alone, ok?’ Acharnor says confidently, ‘Yeah? And who’s gunna make us?’ One of the warriors says with a growl ‘How about 50 gold?’ Acharnor replies with a cunning grin on his face. The warriors look at eachother, then at the coins in Acharnor’s hands. ‘Ok, we’ll take the gold, but don’t try no funny business, or we’ll track you down and HURT you’ the other warrior states as he jabs a gloved finger at Acharnor’s face. Acharnor nods, still with a grin on his face, and the warriors ****** the gold and walk away. Acharnor then turns to the Halfling and smiles, the Halfling bows to Acharnor as he walks away into the shade of the trees.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well-dressed man stands. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Acharnor bows to the merchant, slowly gaining his trust, and smiles at him. ‘Would a finely dressed man like you happen to have a sword?’ The man almost blushes as Acharnor hands over the gold. The clearly flattered merchant places down a strong iron sword on the counter with a thud and as he does so he bellows ‘Only 50 for you sir! Have a nice day!’ Acharnor bows again and takes his new sword. As he walks away, he smirks as if he has just stolen bread from a halfling.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Acharnor knows how easily traps can be set even with items as valuable as these, and he is wary. He listens carefully for any sign of movement, but all he can hear is a small sheep grazing nearby. He then opens the chest and takes the sword, not because of its uses, but for the amount of money he could get from selling it.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Although Acharnor is hungry, he doesn’t let this make him appear weak and sits down cautiously. He looks over to the main trader and puts down 39 gold. The Human looks at him politely and hands over 5 loaves of bread and 3 cooked fish. Acharnor leaves the gold while in the other hand he takes his food. When he has his food placed in his knapsack, he stands up, thanks the man and walks off.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guards have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Acharnor knows that he has enough money to last for the next few weeks and doesn’t want to get involved in something that could slow his progress in finding another place to stay, or worse, get wounded and unable to continue his journey. Acharnor thanks the man for his offer, but declines it politely and goes on his way.

I'm going to go accepted

Just a few minor things to watch when you are in-game.

Currency is called minas, though you could pay with gold nuggets but minas is what we call the currency that uses the custom plugin.

Those orcs would most likely have killed you for trying to steal and strange one of them.

You can't steal in-game without getting a Villain App.

Please wait patiently for a GM to implement you and PM me if you need anything.
