My hobbies are biking and gaming. I do IT work; usually on contract, on call. I have a pretty random schedule but usually have a lot of time free. I'm also fluent in German and enjoy reading.

Again, my schedule varies, but the potential to be on a lot is there.

Er... not sure. At least 6 months I guess.

-What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?:

In general, roleplaying is 'impromptu acting.' You choose a role to play, as if you were acting it out for others. I have been doing roleplaying in some form or other for probably about 15 years. It started with text MUDs, included a little bit of tabletop, and most recently on some great roleplay servers on NWN1.

-What do you expect this server will be like?:

Hopefully awesome, less grief-y and more RP-y. :cry:

-What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

Usually I leave because it seems hard to find a good balance between fun pvp and grief, between being able to have wars and sieges and still getting to build epic things without destruction. The server I spent the most time on was a small one I hosted just for myself and a handful of friends to build on.

-Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?:

I agree to the rules and have a basic grasp of the lore.

Probably 'no vandalism' or the laws requiring you stay IC, I suppose.

-What was your least favourite Law?:

Most RP groups I have been in respond to IC crime with IC repercussions. This could be (and has been) as harsh as permanent character death, but it still remains IC. I do not agree that having a law-breaking character should ever result in your account being banned (assuming you are roleplaying a criminal properly and courteously and not breaking OOC rules), but that's what is stated on the "Kingdom Laws" page of the wiki.

-Biography:

Gorm is young by dwarf standards. His family was known for two things. They ran caravans and were also known for crafting intricate mechanics such as hidden doors and traps, but on a recent caravan trip to a new-found settlement, they were caught in a raid by orcs and killed when the settlement was razed. Gorm had remained behind, and has just heard of this news. He is on his own now and must decide on a way first to survive, and then to cope with this tragedy. Depending on his interactions he may choose a noble path of focusing on defending dwarven settlements and caravans to ensure this sort of thing does not happen again, an industrious path of becoming the best craftsman his family had ever produced and restoring their name to greatness, or a vengeful path of punishing the orcs responsible for his grief. It would take a great event for him to get over his revulsion of orcs. His other dislikes include open spaces. He prefers spending his time underground. Although he enjoys food and fighting as much as other dwarves, when driven he may focus on a craft or goal to the point that he neglects all else.

Dwarven youth / young adult.

-Character Appearance:

Gorm has a short beard as would be expected from his age. His eyes are black and his hair is a red so dark it might look brown or maroon. His skin is somewhat pale due to his time underground, unblemished except some scars from helping in the workshop on his hands.

Usually quiet and thoughtful, very loyal when treated with respect.

Join a group that would allow Gorm to pursue one of his three possible main goals: Defend dwarves, make a name for his family as a builder and crafter or raid orcs.
