Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? While on his way from the Cloud Temple, Ryllae was making his way to the Inn. It had been a long day, and he just to get something to eat and rest. But his attention was caught when he heard of the sound of whimpering. Changing the way he was going, he headed for the sound, coming upon the small halfling being tormented by the two warriors. One of the warriors was holding the halfling up by his collar, off of the ground. The poor thing was struggling to get free. "Hey, stop it!" He called out, frowning. He walked closer to them, readying his bow and aiming it at the warriors, but he kept a good distance between him and them. "Put him down!" One of the warriors, the one that wasn't holding the halfling up, looked at him and sneered, glaring at him. "Do you really think you can stop us?" "If I have to." Ryllae replied, drawing back the string of his bow. "Think you'd be able to shoot us? A little thing like you?" The warrior laughed loudly. "As if!" Ryllae didn't say anything; he merely let go of the string of his bow. The arrow left his bow and raced right by the warrior, nailing itself into the dirt behind them. "See? What horrible aim! You didn't even get him!" The second warrior chided. "Really? Look at him." Ryllae told him, nodding his head to the first warrior. The second warrior looked to the first and his eyes widened. The first warrior's cheek was bleeding from a thin, long slit in his cheek. "Wh-What?" The first stammered, lightly touching the slice. "Imagine what I could do if I was being serious." Ryllae commented, taking an arrow from the quiver on his back. The two warriors exchanged a look before the second warrior dropped the halfling and the both of them took off. "Are you alright?" Ryllae asked the halfling, giving a small smile. The halfling nodded. "T-Thank you for helping me." With that, the halfling ran off to get home. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Ryllae was looking over the wares when the sound of a voice suddenly speaking startled him. He jumped slightly, and looked up at the merchant. "Ah, hello... I was just looking." He offered a slight smile, glancing around the stall once more. "I 'aven't seen you 'round here before. You new?" The merchant asked, looking Ryllae over. "I am." Ryllae nodded his head. "Ah, well, if you spot something you want, let me know." The merchant told him. "Alright... Actually, I could use some more arrows, if you have any." Ryllae told him, rummaging around in his pocket to see if he had enough to buy some arrows. He didn't want to spend all of it though, so he could afford a room at the Inn, but he should have had enough to get a few arrows. "You bet I do." The merchant grinned, setting out a stack of twelve arrows in front of Ryllae. "Thank you, is this enough?" Ryllae asked, placing some gold pieces down by the arrows. "Yep!" The merchant took the money and pushed the arrows towards Ryllae. "Thank you." Ryllae bowed his head to the man as he picked up his arrows, putting them into his quiver. "I'll be going then." He walked away from the stand, waving to the merchant as he left. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Ryllae paused in his stride when he noticed the small hut. "What is this?" He murmured to himself, stepping closer to it to get a better look at it. "Someone's house?" He peeked inside of the hut, glancing left and right to see if anyone happened to be inside. "It looks abandoned." He concluded. Then his gaze stopped on the chest in the middle of the small room. Slowly, he moved closer to it. He found himself curious to know what was inside of it. He peeked inside, finding the iron bars and golden sword. "Why would an abandoned hut have these things here?" He questioned under his breath, staring at the iron bars and golden sword. If he could sell those, he could make a decent profit to help get more money for his village. But as tempting as that was, he knew it wasn't right. Whether this hut was abandoned or not, those items belonged to someone, and they wouldn't be happy to find their things gone when they came back. He closed the chest and stepped back from it with a sigh. He didn't want to do anything that could be considered shameful to help his village. He wanted to do things that he'd actually be proud of to tell the people of his village about. "I'll just go around it." He nodded his head, turning and leaving the small hut. Once he was outside, he went around the hut, continuing on his way, but he paused for a moment, glancing back at the hut just in time to see someone, though he couldn't see who, walk into the hut. "I knew it couldn't have been abandoned." He murmured, nodding his head before picking up his pace and heading on his way. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "I shouldn't have gone that way..." Ryllae panted softly, glancing around. It had been few days since he'd gone around that hut, and he'd eaten the last of the food he had packed for his trip a hours ago. Now he was left hungry and thirsty with no sign of food or water. Just when he felt about ready to collapse, he noticed a small camp in the distance. "Maybe they can help me..." He tried to quicken his tired pace in order to get to the camp sooner. Hopefully he would be able to get some food and rest there. He walked to the camp, his chest heaving and his appearance disshelved. Everyone there was staring at him, and he felt almost as if he was intruding. It was silent for a few moments until one of them, a kind looking middle aged woman, spoke with a frown. "You look terrible! Let's get you something to eat and drink." The woman stood from her spot, heading over to him and leading him over to take a seat in front of the large fire in the middle of the camp. "Thank you." He smiled weakly, coughing lightly because of his dried mouth. One of the younger women in the camp brought him a cup of tea, offering it to him with a smile. "Here you go." He carefully took the cup from her and nodded his thanks, smiling as he took a drink of it. "Thank you." He whispered, gulping down more of the tea. "Would you like more tea?" She asked once he'd finished all of his tea. "Please." He smiled, nodding. She took his cup and left for a moment, returning with a refilled glass along with a plate of food for him. "Oh, thank you!" He took the cup from her, placing it beside him and then took the plate, eagerly staring at the food placed on it. He quickly began to eat, his stomach rejoicing. Once he was finished, he thanked them all repeatedly for giving him something to eat and drink. "Oh, stop." The middle aged woman laughed, waving her hand. "It was nothing." "Still..." Ryllae smiled. "Uh..." He trailed off a little for a moment. "Do you think I could take some food for my journey?" "Of course!" She nodded her head, immediately getting up and returning with a pack of food for him. "I can't thank you enough." He told her as he took the pack, hoisting it onto his shoulder and standing up. "Leaving already?" She questioned. He nodded. "Yes, I can't afford to stop for too long." "Take care of yourself." She clapped him on the back, grinning. "I will." He smiled, nodding his head and waving as he left the camp, continuing on his journey. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Upon leaving the Inn he was staying at, Ryllae noticed that the town guard was gathered in the middle of the town. "Wonder what's going on." Ryllae murmured in curiosity, making his way over to the group of guards. "What's happening?" "There are bandits on the road that leads out of the town." The captain of the town guard replied, turning his head to look at Ryllae. "Bandits?" Ryllae questioned with a frown. "Yes." The captain nodded. He eyed Ryllae for a moment thoughtfully before speaking again. "We could use your help." "My help?" Ryllae blinked in confusion. "You want my help?" The captain of the town guard nodded his head. "Yes, from what I've seen you are quite capable with that bow of yours, having hunted small animals for us. You could help us come up with a plan." "I'll try." Ryllae scratched the back of his head. "By chance... Do you know how many there are? Or any of their plans?" "No. We know not their numbers or if they have a plan." The captain shook his head. "We just know that there are a lot of them." "Alright." Ryllae nodded his head, beginning to think of a possible plan. He walked around the village, looking for somewhere that he could see the road from an above angle. He let out a sigh when he didn't find a spot in the village. "Perhaps... I could find a way to listen in on them speaking..." He nodded his head, making his way to the road, peeking around. There were a lot of trees around the road, many of them close enough together so that someone could crawl from tree to tree. Maybe he could use that to help. He climbed up one of the trees, slowly and quietly climbing from tree to tree. He had only climbed through a few trees until he heard voices speaking, so he paused to listen in. "...Attack at midnight tomorrow!" Then a chorus of cheering could be heard. "They'll never see us coming!" A man chuckled. "Especially if we go when it's dark out. They won't be able to see anything." Another laughed. "Have you checked out it out?" The first man asked, his words muffled like he had something in his mouth. "Of course I have, you fool! Otherwise I wouldn't have a plan." The second man sounded irritated, followed by a smacking down and the first man going 'Ow'. "The farms look good, and the women look even better." He chuckled. "What about the men and children?" "We'll just kill them and take off with the women." Ryllae frowned to himself. They were planning to strip the farms bare, and kill everyone but the women. Ryllae carefully made his way back through the trees, and silently ran into the village to tell the town guard of what the bandits were planning, so they could think of the right course of action against this attack.
