In your own words, define what the act of Roleplaying is:

Roleplaying is being put in the shoes of another person and acting accordingly.. To pretend and 'act' as if you are that person and go through the actions as that person would. To roleplay, is to literally play a role.. Whether that role be a giant menacing orc or a tiny defenseless halfling.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Meta-Gaming is to act upon OOC knowledge IC or to act upon knowledge your character would not know in character. For example:

Derp Guy 1: *Shift+Right clicks Derp Guy 2*

Derp Guy 1: "Hey! I didn't know you were a secret assassin who's coming over here to kil-" *GAHH* *Drops dead*

Derp Guy 2: Fecking meta-gamer.

In this case, the first man made a simple mistake that is often seen with new players, they would shift and right click to see a player's character card, which led him to stating knowledge that he did not know IC.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:

Power-Emoting or the act of Power-gaming is to do something over-powered and un-realistic with your character.. Power-emoting is to emote something that is completely unfair, unrealistic, over-powered and kind of dumb in order to win in a roleplay situation. People tend to powergame (Power-emote) when they are losing something in roleplay in an attempt to 'win' the encounter. For example,

Derp Thief: "Oh boy! I just stole from that guy.. MAHA!"

Derp Guard 1: "STOP RIGHT THERE! YOU'RE SURROUNDED BY OUR THREE HUNDRED ELITE SOLDIERS! THERE'S NO WAY YOU COU-"

Derp Thief: *Runs past them with amazing and BLINDINGLY POWERFUL STRENGTH, CAUSING THE ENTIRE FECKING ARMY TO BE DEFEATED*

This type of roleplay tends to create unfair situations in roleplay that not all players would agree to. Power-emoting is almost always completely unfair and unrealistic.

In-Character:

Character Name:

Merek (Moonstrike)

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!):

Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

I have no sub-race chosen as of this time.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Merek was born to a family of farmers in the 27th year of peace in Asulon. The family celebrated and feasted the night Merek was born, their son was finally born, what a blessing this truly was. He grew up learning values and manners as all children should, not left abandoned as many seem to be around Asulon... (<.<) ANYWAY! His father taught him the virtues of determination and justice, to never give up and do what's right. His mother taught him to always be polite, treat people with the respect they deserve. He grew to his boyhood happily and loved.

Merek was loved and cherished by his father during his boyhood due to his father never truly having a father of his own. His father, Alistair, lost his father long ago in Aegis as the undead conquered the lands, he assumes his father died. Alistair was reluctant to teach his boy to fight, as he was always worried he would cause trouble, for Merek was one of those children who always wanted to fight someone. Although, since Merek became slightly older, Alistair thought it necessary to teach him a little about fighting. Alistair taught Merek basic fighting styles when he was a young boy, Merek ever so interested and ready to learn. As time went on, Merek would learn more and more becoming older and more skilled.

Merek's father was a farmer, often moving from town to town working in the farms. For whatever reason, Alistair never stayed at the same farm for long, only long enough to earn a little money, have somewhere to stay and eat, then take his wife and child somewhere else. Alistair taught Merek a little bit about farming, but Merek showed little interest and Alistair decided he wouldn't go on with teaching Merek to farm.

Merek turned to the age of about 16 when he and his family arrived in Alras to farm for a short time. Merek was in the streets minding his own business and going to where he and his family were staying. It was then that an orc started to pester him in the nearly vacant streets, only a couple by-standers watching the orc. The orc screamed orcish as spit flew in Merek's face, "WAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, FECKING SKAHER?" "I'M GOING TO FLAT LATZ! FLAT!!" The orc through a punch at Merek's face, sloppily yet powerfully. Merek's eyes widen as he ducked and grabbed the orc's arm, quickly yanking and bending in a quick motion in hopes of injuring his arm. The orc's arm made a cracking sound and the orc screamed loudly. "AGGH! LET GO OV MI ARM!" Merek let go of the orc's arm as the giant green man pulled his arm away and ran down the street holding the arm.

Merek came home to his father Alistair to boast about how he stopped an orc from beating him up. He told about how he thinks he broke the orc's arm and how the orc just ran away. Alistair was incredibly disappointed, although, Merek only defended himself. Alistair felt his family would be in trouble for what Merek had done, so they packed up and moved before a moment's notice. Merek is still proud that he managed to defend himself against an orc after so many years of learning how to fight from his father.

Merek turned to the ripe age of 20 and his parents felt that he should be moving out to live on his own. Merek feels the same way, he wants to go out into the world and find what's out their for him. Merek wants to find his destiny and make a few memories along the way. Merek packed up all of his essentials and stuffed a small bag of minas into his pocket. He said his goodbyes to his family and headed out the door.

What are your Character's ambitions?:

Merek has a passion for fighting. Ever since his father taught him how to defend himself, he has found a great interest in hand-to-hand combat and martial arts. He hopes to learn how to fight so well that he could take on a fully armed man with ease. He feels pride in being able to defend himself without a weapon. To master this is his goal.

(His eyes look slightly covered, but that's only because he has long hair. xD)

Other Information about your Character:

Merek is the grandson of Gladius Moonstrike (He doesn't know it) When Fira (Gladius' wife) was trying to escape from Aegis with her son Alistair, Fira died. In the chaos of so many people escaping from Aegis, there was a single child, Alistair, crying and alone. A man running through the forests, hoping to escape Aegis in time, came across the child crying. He had no choice but to pick Alistair up and save him from the damnation of Aegis. In time Alistair grew on the man that saved him and the man raised him as his own. Alistair forgot his last name, as he was only a toddler at the time. Merek is the son of Alistair and in turn does not know his real last name is Moonstrike. Maybe in time he will find out his real last name. Although, Merek is aware his father's last name isn't the real one, so he abandoned that name and only goes by Merek, feeling respect for his biological family by not adopting the man's last name.

Open-Response-Questions

Answer at least three out of five listed!

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?:

Merek sees the men mugging the halfling in shock. Merek remembers his father teaching him morality and justice, so he runs to the warriors and says, "OI! STOP THIS NOW!" The two armored men turn to see a young man with ragged clothes and untamed hair. "HA! Go away now boy before you get yourself in trouble." Merek's jaw drops, astonished. Merek raises his fists with a look of determination on his face as he says, "Leave him alone.." The two men turn to him holding long diamond swords whilst smirking. "And what are you going to do about it?" They say half laughing. Merek lunges at the nearest armored thug and blocks the warrior from slashing at him by grabbing the man's wrist. The second warrior sees Merek attacking and punches him in the ribs full force. Merek gasps for air as he lets go of the man's wrist falling to his knees, as the armored man is fairly strong. The first armored warrior tries punching Merek in the face, but Merek ducks enough so that the full force of the punch doesn't hit him, but the fist slides off the back of his head, still doing a little damage. The second armored warrior scowls at him as he kicks him in the gut, causing Merek to fall to the ground. The two men proceed to beat Merek to near death. They take whatever is in Merek's pockets and turn to the halfling.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?:

"Well, there's nothing I'd especially like to buy today. What are you selling?" The man in the stall smiles and starts showing several of his wares to Merek. Something peeks Merek's interest and he says, "Oh! I'd rather like that one, how much is it?" The man in the stall responds, "That'll be 80 minas!" Merek looks in his pockets and frowns, he realizes he was beaten up by armored warriors a week ago. Merek turns to the man in the stall with a frown. "I can't afford that sir.. I'll be off now if you don't mind." The man says, "Well all right.."

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Merek looks in the chest of the abandoned building, wondering who must have lived here. He rummages through some of the crap to find the iron and the golden sword. Merek takes a couple of the iron bars, as he doesn't want to take too much and it might be too heavy. Merek picks up the sword and starts to swing it idly, finding it a little heavy. Merek says, "Hmm. Why am I even touching this?" He sits the sword down as he is no where near skilled enough to use it.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?:

Merek stumbles to them, feeling starved. "Hey, DO YOU HAVE FOOD?" The people seem a bit frightened, thinking he is threatening them. Merek takes a moment to calm down and apologize. "I'm Merek, I've been lost for a while and I'm so hungry.. Could you please help?" Merek says feeling slightly drained from no food. The people calm down, realizing he wasn't threatening them and they take him in for dinner.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Merek's interest is peeked, he offers his assistance in this matter. He puts on thick gloves and some small light-weight chain armor. He arrives with his armor and the guards seem slightly confused when he mentions he doesn't have a sword, bow or axe. "Agh! Must be one of dem wizard men!" One of the more dim-witted guards say. Merek laughs and they head out to eliminate the bandits.
