Leinad 0 Share Posted July 2, 2012 Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: Mr_Leaves How old are you?: 14 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Central Time, United States Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Well, of course. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: Well, you see, I'm an overall good person. My friend, xBambiraptorx, recommended this server to me before I even had the game. Once I get the hang of it, I would be honored if you were to allow me to play on this server. I enjoy gaming, and basking in my freedom. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I'm a spontaneous person, who lacks a proper schedule or time table. Anywhere from two to six days a week. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: I generally think of older game franchises such as Pokemon or Final Fantasy. So, xBambiraptorx helped describe it to me a little better, mentioning how I would have to be in character practically at all times. This won't be difficult for me;I tend not create characters that are too far from my own personality. Role-playing is simply becoming someone that may or may not be who you are. It is basically perceiving everything going on through your character's eyes, rather than your own. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: Once again, I have played RPGs like Pokemon and Final Fantasy, but not much experience with actually playing a role. When I was younger I used to take paper cut-outs outside with me, despite the fact that the wind actually blew them away, and acted as if I was a real Pokemon trainer. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Based on what I have read, Meta gaming is basically using outside information to my character's advantage. For example, if I am playing Mass Effect for the second time, and I know that once decision will lead to a major consequence, I might choose a different option the second time around. That would be Meta-Gaming. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power Emoting is like narrating things that are going on, without giving the other player a say in what is going on. For example, if another kid came up to me with his Pokemon cutouts, and I told him that Team Rocket came and stole all of his Pokemon forcing him to forfeit, that would be Power-emoting. What do you expect this server will be like?: I imagine it will require assistance from other players, and will force me not to act independently as a character. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have not played any other Minecraft servers. This is my first Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes, I do. How did you hear about us?: xBambiraptorx told me about this server. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: This is my first. In-Character: Character Name: Leinad Weaver What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Human, African-american. What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): No Sub-race. Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): I am Leinad Weaver, Son of Odin and Alice Weaver. I am 25 years-old, have black hair, purple eyes, and I am dark-skinned. I was born and raised in a large home with my mother and father, as well as three older siblings. Two sisters: Mia and Rose Weaver, and a Brother: Balmung Weaver. Despite being the black sheep (no pun intended), I was favored by my father, and when he died at 55 after being assassinated by a cloaked man in a pub in the city of Ursakar, he passed down all of his money to me. The will specifically said “To my dear youngest son: I know that great things lie in your future. I am giving you all 100,000 of my minas.” The entire family was shocked as I left them to care for our home. I journeyed off by myself, and found a woman outside of a local pub. I thought she was the one, so I gave her about 90,000 of my inherited minas. However, her better interests were outside of me, and she left with my money, leaving me with only 10,000 minas in pocket. So desperate to get my money back, that I hired a criminal to steal it back from her for 5,000 minas upfront. However, he never found her, and I was left with nothing but 5,000 minas and no skills to work. Having being disowned by my family, I left Ursakar when I realized that it had nothing but bad luck for me. I traveled and traveled along the elven path until I eventually found the docks, costing another 1,000 minas. After all, a man must live comfortably. I met a shady dark elf at the docks who told me that Malinor was the perfect place for me after explaining my situation to him. Why was I talking to such a shady person? I thought he was a celebrity form behind. I then rode the boat to Malinor (for free, thank the gods), and ran into a middle-class elf named Azure Skylord. He approached me, seeing that I was without a home in the city of Malinor. He asked me needed a place to stay, and I decided not to tell him my last name, because I figured he’d assume that I had lots of money. That however fell apart within the first two weeks, but instead of kicking me out for lying to him, he allowed me to stay with him and work for him at the Happy Traveler. He taught me how to be a blacksmith by purchasing many books for me to learn from, and I now work in his shop as a blacksmith. I still don’t see why a “happy traveler” would need such dangerous weapons, but I just went along with it. I still live with Azure to this day, and hunt with him whenever he needs me, but one day I will rise to my former wealth and when I die, I’ll pass it on to Azure in thanks rather that my scumbag family (that I betrayed). One day, Leinad Weaver will become the greatest blacksmith in Malinor, and make diamond armor for Azure to sell and also equip to repay him for taking me under his roof. What are your Character's ambitions?: I with to reachieve and/or surpass my former wealth; I wish to become the most distinguished blacksmith in town; I wish to find the woman of my dreams and marry her. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): I’d have to say that it’s my trusty sword because it was the first thing that I crafted. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Wasting money, as I have done that very well over my years. I have spent more money in a day than some people have made in a lifetime, and have none of the items I spent the minas on that day. I also am good at Smithing, as I am one of the highest paid smiths in all of Malinor. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ): Other Information about your Character: Well, I may seem selfish, but I’m actually not a bad guy. I have no interest in making friends, just money. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? I reluctantly walked up to the armored men. I decided to speak loudly to them, hoping that other people would hear me doing something good for once. “Excuse me, gentlemen.” I said. They turned around abruptly and looked at me strangely as if nobody had ever called them gentlemen before. “How much money can I offer you to leave this little halfling alone?” I asked. I cringed immediately after the words left my mouth, realizing that they’ll probably ask for more that they intended to steal from the halfling. “Give us everything,” the one on the left said in a surprisingly high voice. I was tempted to back down and leave (not that they would let me), but when I saw the child-like face of that halfling, I decided to hand them all the cash that I’d just made, but not the secret stash in my shoes. They then pushed me down and proceeded to take the halfling’s money as well. I should’ve known. I drew my blade on impulse, and charged at the men, rapidly. I crashed into the left one’s armor, and was knocked unconscious, since I didn’t have any sort of protective clothing. When I came back around, the men were walking away. The Halfling was over me, shaking my body in an attempt to wake me up. I then decided to give up on retrieving my money, and handed him what was in my left shoe. He was speechless, and I got up and left for Malinor. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? “Greetings, sir! I’m looking to purchase some ores, as I am a blacksmith in Malinor. You may have heard of me, my name is Leinad Weav…” He cuts me off. “Wait, you mean that foolish man who wasted all of his inherited money? I thought that was only a myth, no one could be that stupid!” “I’ll have you know that men do rash things for love! Anyway, I’d like some ore.” “Some more what?” “No, ore!” “No more what.” “I wish to purchase iron and diamond!” “Oh! How much?” “Ten iron ingots and three diamonds.” He looks under the counter for a few moments and places the items I was looking for on the counter. ”That will be 1,500 minas,” he says. I hand him the money and leave in a rush, knowing how pleased Azure will be when I craft him his first Diamond sword with these diamonds! Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes acraoss a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I found myself faced with an enormous moral question. I desperately wanted those items. My right hand reaches for the sword, and I grab it, only to realize that I can’t even lift it. I chose to leave it there. I was about to take the bars, but then I thought “What would father do? Better yet, what would Azure do? My dad did not get all his money from thievery. I must prove that I can regain my money in a morally correct fashion.” I leave the iron and sprint away from the house before I change my mind. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I ran to the nearest citizen, a tall middle-aged Kharajyr women. “Please help me!” I exclaimed “My name Leinad, and I’ve been been wandering in the wild for hours! Can you help me?” She gave me a look of pity and said “oh, you poor baby!” She led me to her house ang prepared a meal for me. “Oh, goody; boiled potato skins,” I said under my breath. I scarfed it down within a few short minutes, and thanked her for the food. I was about to ask for a map when she started asking questions. “Well, my name in Linda. Where were you born?” “Ursakar. It’s a nice town.” “You know, I haven’t met many people named Leinad. What’s your surname?” I knew where she was going with those questions. I began to wonder if she was one of my dad’s mistresses. ”Well… My surname is actually-” I paused when a bi-racial man a little older than me came walking in with a pile of firewood. “Mom, I’m back,” he said. He put the wood down in a corner of the small house and looked at me for a few awkward moments, as if trying to remember where he had seen me before. I had seen him before about seventeen years ago back when my father was alive.”Are you…”he began. “Yes, I am Leinad Weaver” I expected him to punch me in the face because of my father’s wrongs against his family. Instead he hugged me. “Hello, half-brother!” he said. “Wait. You’re Ben! We played together that time you came to visit.” “That was the day your father revealed that he was already married. He had been fooling us for years. How is that old bastard?”Linda said. “He’s dead,” I responded. I explained how he had died and everything that had happened to me since then. “It’s fine if he stays with us, right? Those scumbag Weavors abandoned him,” Ben said. “Well actually…” I was going to point out that I was the one who had abandoned them and left with all the money, but I changed my mind and continued with “I’m already living with this man named Azure in Malinor. As a matter of fact, he’ll be wondering where I am. Do you have a map from here to there?” “Well, of course,” Linda said. I didn’t think she wanted me to live there. Minutes later, I was walking out the door in a hurry with a map to my destination. Ben had been disappointed, but he wished me luck. I should’ve kept walking, but at the last second I turned around and said to them “When I regain my fortune, I promise to send you 15%.” Crap! You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: ((I’m not going to lie and say that I would actually volunteer. If I showed my face there, they’d laugh and think I was joking.)) I felt bad for sitting around, so I immediately went to my workshop after hearing the news and began crafting weapons for the volunteers, still trying to prove myself a good person. I stayed up all night crafting swords and axes for them, but when I went to take it to them, they had already left. I sighed because I’d have to carry all the weapons back. The locals were laughing at me, and not a single one helped. Anything else you would like to say?: The whole pokemon role-play thing was the truth. I actually did that when I was a kid, and this is a legitimate application. Also, Leinad’s story is loosely based on Arrested Development, and his personality is loosely based on Gaius Baltar form BSG.
