The desert sands kick up ever so slightly, disturbed by the flowing wind and scorpions that roam the vast expanse of the Eastern Sands; and as occasional cacti protrude out from the horizon, a new sight is seen, cascading long shadows over the light sand as the sun falls behind it. This new sight is uncommon to the peaceful desert, and its ***** position is soon complemented by the buzzing and bustle of a work force. Working with mortar and sandstone, the workers carefully erect the fine yet simple buildings of a desert city, all the while wiping sweat from their faces as the sun beats heavily on their construction, bouncing and reflecting heat all about. Overseeing these workers are three men, dressed in unique robes complemented by ornate necklaces, and all obviously accustomed to the desert climate. A dark-skinned hand extends out as one of the three begins to speak to the workers, directing them on the construction, while the other two enjoy a fragrant glass of rose water delivered to them by a woman, who bows her head graciously and continues towards the workers, her similar dark skin striking out against the paler shades the workers express. Along the foundation of the sand-colored walls, the familiar Jahvid tents are seen pitched about, providing the workers a respite from the intense heat scorching the sand. It is here that the foundations of Agrabah, a Jahvid Jewel in the desert, is to be created, providing an Oriental touch to the land, and a sight truly magnificent and breathtaking, exemplifying Jahvid ingenuity and architecture to all who are graced by its sight.

The City of Agrabah

Located within the nation of Levanthus, the desert city is nestled in the dominant desert region of the Eastern Sands. Governed by the Subudai Kotan, the Jahvids, Agrabah will serve as a bastion of oriental wares, varying from fine glass blown from the desert itself, to wonderfully dyed wool and clothing to lavishly decorate one’s home or person.

The city is currently under construction, and a capable workforce is currently working tirelessly under the desert heat, slowly building up the sandstone walls with mortar and a bit of concentration; and despite the almost unbearable working conditions, the city is turning into quite the specactle, jutting out of the rolling sands.

As well as seeking out builders, the city is also looking for skilled artisans, varying in their craft. The most immediate craft needed is an engineer, to regularly check the water levels of the desert pump situated by our soon-to-be depended farms. A list has been formulated as well on the available jobs needed for the wonderful city:

* Priority job - Needed ASAP

*Cooks - The city’s workforce will need a steady supply of food and drink provided to them, and the consumption of raw meats will only spoil the stomachs of our already hard-working men.

Farmers - The city will be establishing a series of farms and pastures outside the city to supply the growing workforce and later city inhabitants with an ample amount of crops to later be developed into various amounts of food.

Dyemen - A unique craft, the city will soon be exporting fine dyes to the rest of Asulon, and skilled artisans are needed to both maintain and work in the dye shops, to maximize production.

Herders - Specific herders are needed to maintain the large amount of sheep needed for the Dyemen’s activities, and so a specific job is needed to handle such a task.

Glassblowers - A rare skill, but able to be taught by the Jahvids, glassblowers are needed to provide fine glass for both Agrabah and abroad, and will be a chief export of the city.

Guardsmen - Every city needs a capable guard force to protect its streets and maintain the peace. And in times of war, a large portion of the Guard force will be integrated into the military for both defensive and offensive operations under the Jahvid name. As well as this, every Guard will be given standard military training and equipment for the well-being of the city as a whole. The city of Agrabah will have no separate military from the guard force, and instead emphasize on training the guards to top military condition. This is decided to keep a stable guard force while also having a military arm when needed. Essentially, any guard is in the Jahvid military.

Political advisors and Diplomats - Agrabah, being a city-state, is almost a nation in itself, and therefore requires a number of political advisors and diplomats to spread Jahvid intentions and relations with our neighbors.

Government Officials - The city will need a few designated government officials to help keep records of the city’s imports, exports, revenue, and general statistics. Scribes also fall under this category.

Religious Figures - Agrabah will have an official religion, but is very open and accepting with other practices, and they are encouraged. Even so, certain religious figures are required to hold daily prayer for the city under the Jahvid’s religious system. (Understanding of Jahvid religious customs required. You will be interviewed of your knowledge by a Satrap.)

**Disclaimer: These jobs are needed but are not readily available until the construction of the city is finally complete. DO NOT post here looking to apply for a position. If you would like to help with the construction of the city or join the Jahvid Collective, PM one of the three Satraps instead(Sheumgal, Viscen, or SKiddles).**
