Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: Timetoburn

How old are you?: 13

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: South Australia (sorry, I don’t know my Time-Zone)

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes, but it’s impossible to never make an error.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I’m a peaceful player, but if someone starts a fight with me, I’ll finish it.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: A minimum of 5 hours, although that depends on many things.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is, in my opinion, pretty self-explanatory. You “play” a “role”. In other words, you act (play) out a completely different person (role).

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: Very little.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Metagaming is using something you learnt outside the game in the world, something your character could not possibly know. For example, if you find a door that needs a password and you get a friend to tell you on Skype, even though your character hasn’t found a password in the game.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power-emoting is when you do something that doesn’t give the other person a chance to react. For example, “I kill the man and take his money” the way this is written, the other person can’t react.

What do you expect this server will be like?: Hopefully a lot of fun.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on many other servers, none are RP servers though. I still use some of them, but the main reasons I left them was because they either bored me or someone ruined the fun.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes.

How did you hear about us?: From a friend.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: yes. http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/62065-timetoburns-application/

In-Character:

Character Name: Rune.

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Elf.

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Rune grew up in Normandor, and his father was a merchant. The merchant trade had always bored young Rune, and his father had little luck teaching him about it. At such a young age, Rune was far more interested in playing with bows. As he grew older, Rune matured, but still wanted nothing to do with merchants. He had become a great archer, and spent most of his time hunting or practising archery. Rune had always had a wilful nature, as demonstrated by his decision to go against his father’s wishes at a young age. Although he did not want to follow in his father’s footsteps, he was always fiercely loyal and would protect his family to the end. Rune had always been popular among the other children of Normandor, and had many friends.

Rune is now 117 years old, and he left his family home in search of adventure. He has brown hair, fair skin, purple eyes and is average in height. Rune had been brought up to be peaceful towards others, even if he was excitable. He never starts a fight, and always looks to diffuse a situation instead of fighting. If it came down to it, he could fight well with his sword, and he of course had his bow. Because of the years of playing hide-and-seek amongst the Elder Tree, he became very stealthy. He learnt to stay still for hours without moving, and he learnt how to blend in to his environment. Rune was also very proud of his race, and is considering joining the ranks of Elven warriors to protect his country. Rune hates to see suffering, and will try to protect anyone if he believes they deserve it.

What are your Character's ambitions?: To have an adventure, or even become warrior.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): The bow.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Archery and stealth.

Other Information about your Character:

Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? I quickly scale a tree to see what’s happening, and hear a few snatches of their conversation. “I know you have more gold! Don’t lie to me!” The little halfling stuttered, “P-p-please, sir, I r-r-really don’t!” I had heard enough by now. I was almost certain that I could take them both out, but something unexpected might happen. I decided to help the halfling. I nocked my arrow, but the two warriors still hadn’t noticed me. I pulled back the string, and released, aiming directly at the calf of the first man. Luckily, he didn’t move, and fell to ground, writhing in pain. The second glanced around wildly and spotted me, up in my tree. “Oi, come down and fight me like a man!” I nocked another arrow, and yelled down, “Do you see that tree over there?” as I pointed at tree a fair way away. As the second warrior turned to look, I aimed again at the man’s calf. “Yes, what about it?” said the warrior, without moving, giving me enough time to shoot. Now both warriors were writhing in pain on the ground. I was lucky the warrior hadn’t been very bright and actually fell for my distraction. The small halfling called his thanks to me as I slithered down the tree. The halfling ran as fast as he could back to the Cloud Temple.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? I glanced around the stall, and saw many weapons on display. I was in a dire need of arrows, after my last few were snapped while hunting. My bowstring had snapped the day before, but I was short on money. The man is still waiting patiently, so I asked, “what are you selling arrows and bowstrings for?” “for you kind sir, three gold nuggets for fifty arrows, and five gold nuggets for the bowstring.” I thought this was a bit overpriced, but I desperately need them. With a sigh, I reached into my pocket and removed eight gold nuggets. I placed them in front of the man, and as he turned around to get the arrows and string he said, “Thank you kindly, good sir, I do hope you come again.” I took my things, gave him a nod and walked away.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I wander through the hut, calling out, “Is anybody there?” no one answers, and the hut looks like it has been abandoned for a long time. I decide to take the iron and the sword and travel to a small nearby, to find out how long the hut had been abandoned. It was three hour’s walking to the village, so I decided to go to the village’s only tavern for a night’s rest. The bed was cheap enough, and in the morning I asked the bartender about the hut. “Yes, I know of that hut, it has been abandoned for many years. Keep anything you find there.” So I kept the iron and sword.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I am cautious, as anyone would be, but I am still desperately I need of food and shelter for the night. I ask the man who greeted me, “Please, do you have any food? I haven’t eaten for days, and I need shelter for the night. I’ll do anything!” the man nodded gravely and said, “We are in dangerous parts. We need protection. If you stay with us for a week and protect us, you can food and shelter for that week.” This was, in my opinion, a mightily good deal. A week would be enough time to get my strength up so I will be ready for the next part of my journey. “Agreed. Thank you for your kindness.” With that, we shook hands. The week was fairly uneventful, and I left them with a full stomach.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: I desperately need the money, but my bow has weakened a lot and it might not penetrate flesh. Of course, if I did help, I could get the money for another bow, so I decide that I will help them if they lend me one of their bows. I approach them and say, “I hear you need help.” Their leader turns to me and says, “aye, that we do. I see you have a bow. We need another archer. Do you fancy yourself a good shot?” I think about this for a second before answering. “Yes, I would consider myself fairly proficient. But my bow is all but useless. Could you lend me a bow?” the man didn’t even answer; he didn’t need to. He nodded to a man next to him, who handed him a bow, which he handed to me. “Good luck.” With that, we set off.

Anything else you would like to say?: I tried my very best to correct any mistakes that were pointed out to me on my last application, and I have been writing this for almost 2 hours. Thank you for taking your time to read this.

Just note that the city of Normandor itself is only 20 some years old.
