Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name:

PajosFTW

How old are you?:

16

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

PT(GM-8) / Canada

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

A most excellent one. English Honours, top of my class. High marks in all subjectively marked essays and papers.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I possess a positive attitude, an enthusiasm for roleplay, and a mature and balanced temperament. I can act a suite of various personalities, and can take on any role required of me to play. I like to think that I am a fairly proficient roleplayer. I like zombies, coding, building, filming, Timelords, writing, and fixing things. I enjoy music by Hank Green and JoCo. I listen to soundtracks far too often. I'm also a huge fan of Marvel movies, but a much bigger fan of DC comics. I revere Neil Gaiman as a genius. And that's my story.

Oh yeah, and I'm a notorious "Grammar Nazi."

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

5-6 hours during the Summer, more during the Fall and Winter. Spring differs.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

The act of taking up a certain persona, and interacting with others as that persona, including properly themed dialogue and activities.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

For me, it started with LARPing, then I dabbled in the public roleplay chats on GoodReads. When I started playing multiplayer minecraft, I did some zombie-apocalyptic roleplay with a few friends on a private server. Then, I established myself on a roleplay server (Age of Citycraft) and played there for 8 months, going through 2-3 characters. By far my most favorite was Arcturus Pajordu, who was a banished general with a heavy alcohol addiction, who had failed to save the city he was charged with protecting. It was pretty cool, he naturally developed into a steely, emotionless figure with a resent for the royal authority, and after settling down in a somewhat nasty pirate port to brood, he discovered a small band of thieves and assassins. He worked with them, eventually becoming their behind-the-scenes leader, and grew that band into a Crime Syndicate controlling most of the world. I have also played on a couple of Fallout servers, working as a Brotherhood scribe and a schizophrenic vigilante.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Half-ass attempt at roleplay incorporating OOC information and activities.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:

When one claims to perform powerful acts impossible to perform in the game while not giving anyone else a chance to deflect or react, or taking control of another's character.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

Fun, roleplay oriented, chock full of mature and skilled players, great atmosphere, generally a good enviroment for roleplaying.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I will refrain from mentioning the suite of minor, unimportant PVP servers I dabble in from time to time when the roleplay servers are down:

Age of Citycraft: Haven't left, but less active so as to experience other servers

Fallout: Sins of Our Fathers: Haven't left, still active

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

Absolutely!

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

I do so promise.

How did you hear about us?:

While looking for a new server on the Minecraft Forums.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

Nope!

In-Character:

Character Name:

Arthur Gideon

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) :

Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

None specified as of now.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Arthur was born to two innkeepers. He was a healthy baby, and had a sizable curiosity to match his abundant energy. The inn he lived in was not fancy, but it was clean and well-built, and the small family loved it dearly. The inn was situated by a major road between two big towns, so the bar was never empty, always a few patrons on the stools or sipping stew in the small dining area. Arthur grew up surrounded by an ever-changing cast of lively characters from all races and corners of the world, and was taught by his father to love all people and treat them with kindness, for no matter what their outer, mortal shell appeared as, on the inside they could be just the same as he.

When Arthur was seven years old, his mother started requiring his help in the kitchens, due to a sickly shaking in her hands. They had many happy times, as she taught him knife-work, stewing techniques, and how to blend herbs. He found happiness and passion in his cooking, and by the time he was a young man, had decided to open an inn of his own.

One day, when he was 19, his mother's bone sickness finally sent her to the grave. Leaving his father to run the establishment, he set out with a pack on his back, to make his fortune in the world.

What are your Character's ambitions?:

To open his own inn or restaurant, and become a famous chef loved by all.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

Chef's knife, also known as a splitter.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

His ability to improvise and experiment to create new recipes and dishes, "Chef at Home" style.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ):

Other Information about your Character:

Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

One would certainly halt, and find some form of concealment, such as a shrub or tree. I would slink over to and hide within my temporary refuge, my pack concealed by some hastily tossed leaves. Silently, I would hold myself as still as possible until the warriors finished their business, wordlessly urging them to pass by my hiding place without stopping to investigate my tracks. Once I am sure they have disappeared, I would grab my pack, and check the poor halfling, to see if he was hurt. After that, depending on whether he was alive or not, I would either help him to the nearest town, or bury him, respectively.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Naturally, I would adopt a dispassionate composure, pick through a few of his wares, weave a bluff of disinterest. If he had any spices or foreign recipes for sale, I would filter through them for any which pleased me, and if I was so lucky as to find one, I would complain about the quality and try to haggle him down to a price of my liking. I would likely purchase the wares if I could, secure them safely in my pack, and continue on my way.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Hah! I am but a hopeful innkeeper. I have neither the strength of arm nor the space in my pack to heave a supply of iron bars to a market miles away, and a golden sword is both ungainly and useless to me, aside from being downright tacky.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Maintain my pleasantries, keep up a healthy looking composure as best as I could, so as to dissuade them from taking advantage of a sick man. I would buy food and directions should I have the coin, or try to make some other arrangement. If I were unable to do so, I would surely perish.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Whether or not I assist depends on the might of the town guard. If they desperately needed the men, even an unskilled, young one such as myself, I would reluctantly heave up a sword and some over-sized armour to clear the road. After all, how else would the trade get through? But if the situation were not desperate enough, I would simply board up the windows and wait for the town guard to do the work themselves.

Anything else you would like to say?:

Because that's how I see the universe Donna; everything that is, was, or could be. That's the burden of a Timelord.
