What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Role playing, It's more of an Art then it is a game. You use your words, your emotions your very soul to draw out what the character you're controlling does, You have to think harder then you would in a real life situation, Role playing is not a game, but rather a way to express the creativeness behind everyone's soul.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: 12 years of Multi-para T1, as well as Voice Rp, DnD & Hardcore WoW Rp.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:Metagaming is the act of taking information from out of character and using it in character for an advantage.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Jasper was Born within a village hidden atop one of the sky-scraping mountains within Asulon.

His mother had died in child birth of his younger son whom later became ill & Died while still in the cradle. His father, Greiving at the loss of his wife & youngest son never fully recovered,

he became an abusive father whom always seemed ashamed of his son.

The village Jasper resided within was a small residential area with Six Family's (Excluding his own).

Jaspers father tried to teach the boy how to weild a sword hopefully to become a soldier, but that failed because the boy was craven & couldnt seem to get the motion of the swing, he was however very agile & able to dodge his fathers repeted blows, being trained all his life to do so from the repeted beating he reseived from his father within his life. Jasper, when not at home liked to spend his time up on the cliffs of the surrounding mountains climbing about then & searching for hidden treasure. The village prospered off of it's goats and it's wheat fields.

Every solstace the Orcs would come and demand payment for protection of the village.

this limited there food source supply nearly by 3/4th's but they found a way to out smart the orc by hiding the Wheat and Salted meat within hallowed stumps. Life continued as normal, his father was always drunk & the town was always happy, except for Jasper. As Jasper hit his 13th birthday, he found himself betrothed to a female whom he actually really cared about.Her name was Jenny Flowers, she was a bastard-born child of the father of the house, but she was shy, cute and always brought a smile to Jaspers face. An ancient tradition was to take place the year after.

On Jaspers 14th Birthday, in order to become a man Jasper had to leave the mountain side,

go into the forest & hunt, Kill and skin a bear. Jasper was utterly scared, shaking the day before, but not only with fear but with excitment. Tomorrow he was to become a man, to marry & to have children with the beautiful Jenny. The next day, he left with a smile on his face, a bow on his back and a quiver filled with arrows, wearing a rough leather jerkin & Pants that had been made of Goat hide, searching for the animal within the forest. A sudden thought came to him as he looked over the brush, he could leave. He could leave behind his drunken father and the boring life that was promised to him, but he'd also be leaving Jenny.

Jasper smiled sadly, a single tear falling from his eye before he took off running in the opposit direction of the village, running as fast & as hard as his legs could carry him.

What are your Character's ambitions?:To live happily, to get away from the boring life that insures him within his old home. To find a place where he can belong in the world.

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Jasper watches from afar, his eyes wide. He had never seen such violent people before. He stays back for a good moment before walking up and saying in a soft voice "Excuse me, what are you doing?" a smile drawn on his face, looking very polite & very innocent to the world. If the guards responded with hostility he would then say "Well I guess I'll just tell your boss" If the guards turn & try to take him out, he'd run (Seeing as their "Armed" i'm guessing their "Armored") into the closest city to tattle.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Jasper suddenly stops, looking over the man, then down at his wares, his eyes growing huge as he looks at the various items that he's never seen, or hardly seen at all while living amongst the mountains he'd continuously ask "Whats this?" in his child-like tone, picking up items and putting them back down, his curiosity getting ahold of him and fixating him on the wonder before him. He would loose himself in the magic of the shop, and never notice anything outside of his range of vision, when he had seen all that there was to see he would then leave the shop with a friendly "Goodbye" to the posh merchant & thank him for his kindness.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Jasper would look around, inspecting the house with utter thoroughnes, checking the kitchen & tables to make sure no leavings were left that tells of someone living here. If he found no evidence that someone lived in the house, and the chest was unlocked as well as the door, he'd leave a note on the box saying "Sorry!" and take the goods with him as he left.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Jasper looks at the men, his body feeling tired & restless his stomach growling. He stares at them for a moment, his eyes sunken pits of what they normally were. Jasper would reach down to his belly & pat it, opening his mouth and pointing into it. He would then speak "Could you spare some food.. please?" -in his most innocent and childish voice.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Jasper blinks a few times hearing the word "Reward" his eyes light up & begin to sparkle. He would join the party of men bringing his Bow & Arrow along, always sticking to the shadows even with the party of men, Just a few yards off to the side sticking in the forest & moving from tree to tree, his body limber with excitement. As they approach the bandit camp Jasper would stay in the tree & watch how the fighting would turn out. If the guard seemed to have the upper hand he would fire his arrows from the tree in rapid succession & hopefully bring down a few bandits. If the guards didnt have the upper hand, he would run & hide back within the town, gather up his things and leave as quickly as he could in the opposite direction.

I am very sorry, but your application has been moved to the denied section of the forums. There are numerous reasons for this, all of which I have included in my feedback below this message. In the mean time there is an abundant source of information, stories, guides and other helpful tips to get you on your way to being accepted; all you need to do is look around. I would suggest the lord of the craft wiki and application submissions section of the forums to start off your little quest to make the best application. Good luck!

The reasons that I have denied you are:

Your have used incorrect formatting of the application.

You need to re-copy the application format. Make sure you have copied the text from the white box and not anywhere else. Also make sure that you do not delete anything in [these square brackets] as they are vital to keep the colour, boldness and size of the text. If you are having trouble because your entire application turns out in funny colours, make sure that you are writing your answers on a line underneath the question, as this is a common error and can mess up the formatting of your application.

Your definition of power-emoting is incorrect.

In lord of the craft we use an RP definition of power-gaming, rather than an RPG definition. While these may seem like the same thing, we can loosely judge that an RPG definition would fit in with games such as World of Warcraft or Skyrim, and the RP definition would fit in with games such as D&D or other person to person Roleplaying. Please do not confuse the definition we use to the definition that other Roleplaying groups may use, relating to creating a character which is too powerful, or doing an “overpowered” action; this is not the definition we use. To make sure you have the correct definition you can either have a look at the Lord of the Craft wiki, or by joining our Team Speak channel (send me a message if you need help getting started) and asking an experienced member. I would also like you to include an example of the term as it demonstrates your understanding of the concept.

Your definition of meta-gaming is incorrect.

There are very few definitions of meta-gaming so it would be rare that you could confuse meta-gaming with another term. I would suggest that you go back to researching (or perhaps begin to research if you guessed the definition) and find out a correct definition pertaining to Roleplaying. I suggest that you do a Google search for the term, look on the Lord of the Craft wiki or join our Team Speak channel. Please do remember that plagiarising (copying someone else’s work) may warrant you a temporary or permanent ban from applying to the server: so don’t do it! I would also like you to include an example of the term as it demonstrates your understanding of the concept.

Your biography needs expansion.

Your misrepresent elves. There is a certain set of elven lore which you need to adhere to if you are to play a character of a certain race. Different sub-species of your chosen race also act in a certain manner which I believe you have not adhered to. Please read up on elven lore by either going to the wiki or reading the forums.

You did not include enough about your characters past, rather you just explained your character’s personality and/or description.

Currently your biography is more of an overview or a dot pointed list of the happenings of your characters past and present. You need to make it flow similar to a story. Explain your character in detail.

You have not included any (or much) lore from the world of Asulon or the lore you did include contradicts that of Asulon. I recommend that you do a lot of research as to what you race is and how they act, as well as towns and places that you could use in your biography. I would also like to note that the entire server escaped from Aegis about 25 in game years ago to move to Asulon, I suggest you do some research on this point. Do note this is not Skyrim, Real Life or Lord of the Rings, we have our own universe with our own races. For ideas and lore you can look on the Lord of the Craft wiki (link on the main page), the Role-play or History sections of the forums or better yet; talk to the people themselves. Just join in our Team Speak channel and ask around! We welcome new people :)

Your biography is not substantial enough. You need to write more about your character, write more detail and more depth. If your biography is less than two paragraphs long or is a bit too short it will be automatically denied. You need to write a minimum of two paragraphs (which in themselves must contain at least five full sentences).

You need to complete the entire biography, detailing all your characters history, age, personality and description. We also like to see little role-play quirks such as habits like the constant brushing back of a fringe, or the scratching of an itchy palm.

Every single thing in your application must have a justification. For example:

John’s father taught him swordsman ship and the lay of the land. X BAD

John’s father was a retired swordsman in the Oren military, after the undead attacks and the moving to Asulon he decided it was time that he lay down the sword for more important matters, family. Now days John’s father teaches John the way of the sword, not so that he can join any particular military, but so that he can defend himself for future experiences to come. √GOOD

Your ambitions are underdeveloped.

You need to show some advanced thought processes. What would your character like to do in the near and distant futures? What is your character planning? You also need to justify your decisions. Why does your character want to do this? Things such as planning to kill all bandits, orcs, humans etc. are unacceptable ambitions as this would require a villainous activity.

Your answers to the favourite tool/best skill questions are underdeveloped.

You need to justify why you have chosen the choices you have. It is all well and good that your character can run really fast, or is light on their feet; but why?

Your answers to the open response questions require more work.

On multiple occassions your response was either lacking detail or not very realistic. For example the "armed warriors" are not exactly guards, although if you interpret them as that then please include some more roleplay as to why they are doing what they are doing.

On many of your responses you lacked any roleplay at all. Do remember that this is a roleplaying server, so you need to assume your character is in this seen and roleplay it to at least some kind of conclusion, rather than ending it at something your character introduces themselves with, or using ambiguous out of character emotes which do not portray your character very well.
