Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name:

My Minecraft account name is Toprobd

How old are you?:

I'm Seventeen years old, and a junior in highschool.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

United States, Pacific Time Zone UTC-8 California

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

I hope so, it's my native language! (I do)

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

Well to start off, I'm an avid roll-player who used to spend tons of time setting up dungeon and dragons campaigns for friends, but have recently lost my group . I'm a fan of anything related to undeath, and especially lich lore. I recently came across this server, and I'm extremely happy that I did, I myself like to create and write stories in my own fantasy worlds. Other than my love for fantasy, I'm very much into water-sports such as waterpolo.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

I take online school, so I have tons and tons of free time, I would most likely be on every day for hours at a time.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Roleplaying to me is taking on the persona of an entirely unique personality, driven by you. You can be someone different, and explore the possibilities of other lives, while weaving your own destiny in a diverse new world. It's all about making your character realistic and life-like as possible.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

Many....many dungeons and dragons characters and campaigns, creating fantasy characters for my own stories, and as well computer games such as fallout 3, oblivion, and skyrim ( I always Role play as well as frequently going to the extremes with mods to make it much easier).

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

It's using your knowledge that your character would not have access to. For me it can severely break immersion in a good campaign.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:

It's an action a character takes, frequently on another character, in which the subject of the emote has no saying. the simplest being Toprobd kills <Monstername>, also can break immersion.

In your own Words, define what Out of Character (OOC) is:

Basically means something your character would not do, or would never to be expected to do, because of whatever decisions he made or his personality, ect. For example a dark and evil necromancer wouldn't go join a group of druids.

In your own Words, define what In Character (IC) is:

It's the how the actor would act or how speaking, I favor googles explanation the most were they describe it as an actor in play. In my words it's playing the part of a character, and acting how he/she would act.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

Seeing as there is a huge background story, and custom lore, I'm very excited to delve into this new world, I look forward to the story's my character will be able to tell, and the experiences i'll have with the other players. It's a new world, and I'm not sure what to expect, besides the basics of fantasy worlds and the features mine-craft presents.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I played on a imagicraft server, which was a zombie rpg, I was eventually promoted to AA (Apprentice Admin) but had to quit because of medical issues, and time spent in the hospital, I also ran a fairly successful server called brawl-craft for a short period of time.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

That I have, read, understood and agreed to the servers rules.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

Yes I do.

How did you hear about us?:

Searching Google for a good minecraft roll-playing experience!

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

Yes here it is: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/64297-keltharis-approval-submission/

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Appearance/Personality:

Short Brown Hair, Blue Eyes, five-o'clock shadow, very tall and lean, about 6'3.

Shy, witty and somewhat anti-social. He can be charming if need be, but is very picky of his company.

Keltharis Drake a Northern Human male who was born into a upper-class family, who were later exiled from their birth-home. Drake was just a young-child then, and has little memories of life before the exile. His family's wealth was left in ruin after they were accused of necromancy and their name dragged in the dirt and forgotten, many family members loosing their lives in the process. What left of the family split up and went their separate ways. Drake was soon orphaned at the age of nine, when his father and mother went missing. He ended up living in the streets of Arethor as a beggar until he reached an appropriate age for labor. He kept his head down for most of his life, and moved from job to job, he came to favor fishing, though. He felt that the streets of Arethor were his adopted parents and rarely spent long duration's of time away from them.He spent most of the coin he earned on food, and the rest to his passion of Music, and poetry. Years went by and he slowly grew in talent and knowledge of all things musical, while working basic labor jobs.

He came into luck one day at the age of nine-teen, he was hired by a noblemen to conduct a poetry reading for a small get-together. He was payed greatly, for someone used to labor wages. His life was turning around, a man who had faced hardships and poverty for as long as he remembered was finally doing alright for himself, while being able to completely afford food and the books, scrolls and tablets he required to further his musical knowledge. He went on to write songs, and poetry and live a middle class life, he learned how to be proper and higher-class once again, and tried everything to forgot about his parents, they had been missing for years now. Years passed, and the recognition Drake had wanted for his musical work had yet to come, as the years continued to pass, Drakes began to fall into depression, and it became difficult for him to work. He no longer wanted to have live performances, and instead receded to his estate. spent most of his time in his small estate in the city, writing and playing songs and poetry, his only escape from his illness. He grew more and more distant and alienated, as his depression worsened, turning to drugs. He felt that he deserved great fame, which would not come to him. His depression became so overwhelming, that it led him to leave the city he had lived the majority of his life, traveling to the wilds, to further alienate himself.

Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Drake walks up to the warriors standing up-right, trying to appear confident. “Come now gentlemen, must you pester the poor, frail hafling? You are obviously far superior to him in every-way! You don’t need to be working these roads as bandits, you would fair off much greater with task that would suit you more, like a raid!”

My Character although good, would most likely lean away from engaging in combat, unless he desperately had too. He would instead try to use his words, charm and wit to talk the two armored warriors down. If this were to fail he would then seek help if there were any near-by. In a last ditch effort he would then try combat and bluffing to disengage the warriors. If it came to full combat he would most likely flee.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

“It's a relief to make the acquaintance of man who speaks properly, in such a lower-class settlement” Drake stands up straight and proper, and now speaking in a deeper accent responds with “May I browse your exquisite wears? I’m searching for the finest of papers and ink from the far east, do you acquire these items?”

My Character uses whit, lies, and charm to further his own goals, or to get a character to favor him. He would compliment and act as if he had the same opinions as the merchant, even if he didn't, he is basically manipulative.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Drake walks up slowly to the hut, searching it outside surroundings for any sign of people, or traps. He enters the hut, while on guard and lets a small sigh of relief for it lacks of bandits. He enters slowly while quickly shifting his gaze around the hut for any sign of recent presence. He see’s a small trunk pushed back into the corner, and he moves in closer for a better look. On further notice he opens the trunk slowly, watching the sides to be sure it was not connected to any sort of trap. To his surprise there is still a good amount of treasure remaining in this deserted hut. On further thought he comes to the conclusion, that no one has been here recently, and it his doubtful they will be back, he takes everything but the sword, muttering to himself: “maybe it will save someones life one day”.

Although, these could fair a good price, Drake was raised from a young age to be proper, therefore would most likely not take anything unless he was sure it was abandoned and not stealing. He would search around to be sure no one was around, and then see if the architecture of the place is at all degraded, and appearing abandoned. All and all he would not take anything if it made him uncomfortable in the least, or if he had the slightest felling that he was stealing.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Drake walks up, appearing to my grabbing at his stomach and moaning in a low-tone voice, he mutters to the men “robbed, and attacked by bandits.....left to die...please assist me....?” <Lie>. Drake falls over and can barely muster the strength to move. Drake struggles to talk but raises his head and says “Food....I require food, help?” before his head drops down again. Drake collapses from his lack of food, and hunger.

He would most likely set up a scheme to manipulate them with lies, or charm but if he felt that it was overkill he might just offer to play them a song or read them a poem for exchange of some assistance and food. Drake would be polite. He would again try and manipulate the situation so the campers would favor him, and want to take him in. He would manipulate, use charm and wit to get what he needs: Sleep, food, water, ect. He would then leave preferably at a time where no one would witness it. He would not steal from them, but only take what he manipulated them into offering.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Drake whispers to one of the other men in the crowd surrounding the guards as they are asking for assistance: “Are lives are valuable, don’t you think we should know what the rewards are?” so that the man will bring attention to himself when asking the question, and not Drake. Drake leaves the room, quietly but quickly when he hears the guards will only be offering a few coin for assistance. Drake is pulled back in with the information that whatever the bandits have or dropped will be open to the taking, thinking to himself “If I just stay back, I can reap the rewards, without having to even fight, brilliant.”

The money is quite needed, but combat is something Drake has never favored, and therefore would not assist them, unless he had too, he may volunteer to play the guards some songs though! Overall, he may hide before he goes into large combat, he cares about his life over almost everything. If the guards were to find him and ask for his help he may try to lie and manipulate to get out of it, unless the rewards were great enough for him to take a risk at his life, such as adventurers or treasure hunts, ect.

Anything else you would like to say?:

I am in no affiliated with any other drake families, that are already in-game.

I greatly look forward to roll-playing this character on the server, and I hope you guys will have me, thanks a ton for reading! I hope you guys enjoy the idea of the character!
