MonsterMoo 3 Share Posted August 7, 2012 Out-Of-Character: Minecraft Account Name: MonsterMoo How old are you?: 13 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: East Coast/ United States of America you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Unequivocally definite. I am in advanced placement for English Literature. *shrugs* Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: Well. I am prone to gain knowledge for fun, but I also have interests in Tang Su Do, Sailing,- this is isn’t important for an application. –Roleplaying is part of me. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: The Weekends. Hours in between these 2 days. During school time of course; then it varies on vacations (in a positive enhancement.) What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: I know that roleplaying is the act of acting out life in a video game (or in other times…) and sometimes things that cannot happen in the game so it is “*XXXXXX.*” To me it means enrichment to the game and what I love entirely in games. "Putting on another's shoes." What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I Roleplay in SWTOR, in the past I’ve RP’d in WoW, and I have played some Minecraft RP servers but they didn’t appeal to me, so I am sure LOTC will be the one. When I was little I Roleplayed on Roblox, a sandbox if your familiar with it. I prefer Fantasy RP to Sci-fi RP In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Using out-of-game info that you do not have in-game in your character’s knowledge. I don’t personally like it but if it is ever needed it is stated with brackets. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Usually stated with asterisks, very useful in roleplaying since actions or emotes sometimes are impossible so it is acted out. I personally like this feature of Roleplaying. Ex. *Tim heaved the melon onto the counter* Merchant: “oh! But melons are scanty in these lands. I’ll buy it. *hands Tim 45 coins* In your own Words, define what Out of Character (OOC) is: Your regular personality in gaming or otherwise when it is not RPing. Used when bracketing for something they missed in the scene but their character should know. Also used if your not even playing an RPG. In your own Words, define what In Character (IC) is: Yourself in-game; your personality while roleplaying. This determines how you react to roleplaying in all categories. What do you expect this server will be like?: I’ve explored and I think it will be a well-organized roleplay. I think it will also be safe from grief and will not overpopulate in bad roleplayers. I have great expectations that this will be an amazing server. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: MCPVP, when I joined mincraft in alpha my friend urged me to play with him on it. JUST PVP bored me. I then went to Xegaming, a bukkit server that was completely overpopulated with grief and spammers. I left it for that, of course. I joined a whitelist SW server that was then griefed. I left because no one was RPing. I then joined ProjectNarna which I am trusted on. I left because there were too many people who hated me for building magnificent structures and not letting them live there. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: yes I agree to the rules Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Indeed. To think otherwise to a crime even to myself. How did you hear about us?: My own online research. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: I posted one by accident I believe. It is not important. I posted it about 7-10 months ago. In-Character: Character Name: Old Rasthi Quillwind the Historian (Old Rasthi for short) What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!: Elf What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): High Elf Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Rasthi is Old, even for elves. All who have met him think him ***** for living so long. Precisely 411. He is intensely senile and acts in such a way that is wise yet absurd and random at times. Due to this he does not remember much of his life and forgets often. Sometimes something someone said or something he sees will spark up a memory, which he will then mumble to himself or state to whoever is nearest. Rasthi is cheerful most of the time and never impatient. He has platinum hair and skin as high elves do. He prefers robes to pants and a shirt. His eyes are violet; a common trait in his bloodline. He will wander immensely when he is given the chance, looking for new herbs and plants. To those who know him from before his senility, he lived in Luarelin with his Mother and father long ago. From the time he could read to now he has collected books of various accounts and genres. He now lives in Normander writing and copying books, and collecting herbs. The Quillwinds are known for taking fancy in books and writing. To get these resources, Rasthi wanders, collecting all kinds of materials. As a high elf, he also enjoys herbalism and practices this often. He is called upon by those of all ethnic groups economic statuses for his advice on matters. When Rasthi was young and relentless he learned songs from other common folk and planned a life as a bard. When he grew older he found the thought silly and abandoned it, but still sings “like the wind through valleys and mountains” as those who have heard him say. He is also very scared of zombies from tales as a child. As a child, he was very social and made many friends who would listen to him read tales of heroes and battles. When at an older age of 12 but still young and ruthless, an old man who Rasthi had seen in the market numerous times clanking along with armor and a standard sword. One day this man entered Rasthi’s fathers map shop (which was the first floor of their house) and asked for a map of ShadowVale. Rasthi’s father walked into the backroom to see what he had while Rasthi walked rather fast to the man. The man grinned toothily. “What’s it ye wants eh, little elfy. Hah! Does he know what a man ‘ere Jolon is?” The man asked. Rasthi shook his head vigorously obviously already enjoying his conversation already. “Well.” Jolon started out. “He’s a merry one, so don’t you get scared of him, but that is what Jolon likes of you, ye don’t just ponder talkin’ to Jolon, a big armored man as he, ye just walks right up!” He stated. At this he chuckled, and asked Rasthi if he made maps with his father. “Yes,-I do.” Rasthi answered softly. “Well. Drawn anything of ShadowVale?” Jolon asked with a wink. “yes,” Rasthi stated. “Good. Go fetch your work and hurry your father.” He ordered and Rasthi ran and fetched these things. He came back with his father and two maps, and handed them both to Jolon. Jolon set the two on the shop counter and examined both. He stood there for what seemed an hour, and then finally he spoke. “Now, sir, who taught your son to draw maps?” He asked. “I did, but he practices more writing than I do and thus his lines fare better and his script and is clearer, thus the maps broader and more detailed. I am proud of my son,” He replied, putting his hand on his son. “Well! You then have the most gifted script maker I have met by far, mister Quillwind!” Jolon Exclaimed smiling, shaking Rasthi’s fathers hand vigorously. “I will buy his map of ShadowVale, and I something for your little lad.” He said with cheerfulness. Jolon paid the mineas and beckoned Rasthi to come outside. They stepped outside to just past the doorstep and Jolon stood taller than he appeared before. With a heave Jolon grabbed the sword of his belt and unsheathed it with the slice of the wind ringing in Rasthi’s ears. The magnificence in the way Jolon had flicked his wrist to slash was amazing. “See how I did this? Here, you try,” Jolon reached into a pouch and took out a simple knife. They began to practice, and Rasthi befriended Jolon. “When the time comes, you need not worry of old age to slow you in the way of a sword.” Said Jolon. To this day Rasthi remembers him, and swears that even though Jolon was old, he never seemed to stop visiting, year after year, on some times. Rasthi suspects he was mistaken of Jolon’s race at the time. He hasn’t seen Jolon since the days of living in Laurelin. What are your Character's ambitions?: To Achieve status in Malinor as Royal Historian. Also to meet adventurers and spend “vacations” with them on their journeys. Lastly, to find out what became of Jolon. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): A sword What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?: Writing Other Information about your Character: hmmm. No. oh; He likes sweet things. Open-Response-Questions Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP. Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?: Trotting along, Rasthi looked towards the abuse and nodded ruthlessly. “Eh! Will you not give the one what he deserves! Or I will show you what you think I think you deserve!” The warriors laughed and glared at the old elf. “Fine! You asked for it!” Rasthi reached into his pocket with such bravery and took it out, his hand clenched. “Hold out your hands!” The warriors obeyed as a joke. Rasthi opened his hand and two candied chestnuts fell out. “There! Now how do you feel?” The warriors looked Bewildered. Rasthi pushed lightly by them and handed the Halfling a candied chestnut. “Well then, let’s have a walk sir, shall we? Or would a ride on a tree suit you better? Er, right, trees are… are not riding things. Well then, come.” He beckoned the halfing up and they walked. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response: “eh, hmm? Oh I do wander like a boar’s tusks are long don’t I! well. I’ll have a loaf of bread and some cheese please. Hah! See that joke?” The merchant chuckled as if trying to sound convincing, and handed Rasthi the bread and small cut of cheese. “This cheese is very triangular, a good thing in cheese it is! Here’s for your good cheese.” Rasthi handed the merchant the pay and a few extra coins. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Rasthi stared inside, and thought, “tut tut, not why is this chest so empty?” He closed it and went on his way. Walking out, he realized what was inside. “Oh my, that chest was very dusty! Too bad.” He exclaimed, and continued trotting along. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?: “Take this pouch and my jar of ink, or anything else, I just want that bottle of ale over there, oh and that sack of bread, and a cookie, many cookies, oh yes!” The merchant handed Rasthi two and a half cookies, and Rasthi ate these, and said, “know of any plants around here?” The merchant pointed around, and Rasthi chuckled. “Oh, goody I will eat my fill now; I forget this is a forest! Many vittles in the forest you know!” You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: “I will lend a hand!” Rasthi shouted over the crowd of concerned voices. The guards shook their heads, “How, Old Rasthi? You are too old.” Rasthi frowned. “If you will not let me swing a sharp thing, then fine, but let me tell you a phew possible ambushes to try…” He spoke skillfully, and the guards thanked him for his thoughts. Anything else you would like to say?: I think a senile old man who wanders occasionally and might do something like, “You look wary, here have a beef” to someone on the road would be a useful NPC RP to the server.
Cappy 1599 Share Posted August 8, 2012 Reasons: Your power-emoting definition is incorrect. Don't be afraid to search the internet to find the definition, but make sure your response is written in your own words! Plagiarism is a bannable offence.Lore inconsistencies in your biography. -Four hundred and eleven is not unusually old for an elf. Elves commonly live very long lives. -Elves age as humans do until around the age of 20, when their bodies cease aging completely until they die. For this reason there are no "old men" in that sense in elven society. -Because your character is so old, he would remember several major events such as the Undead War and the Escape to Asulon, however these events bear no mention in your character's story. -We are in Asulon, not Aegis. Laurelin was a city in Aegis, but we have moved into a new world. Please read some of the history on the Wiki for more information.Nonsensical Open Response Questions. In your first question, why do the warriors stop harrassing the halfling when you drop some nuts? And then don't mind as you take the halfling away? I'm certain if I were a bandit, I wouldn't let a strange man walk up and lead my victim away without a fight.Incorrect formatting.
