Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is:Role playing is when you take a role of a character. (the character does not have to be anything like the player) You could make a completely new person in the world of a game. To me it is creating a life in another game (or if you do it in real life, then another you.) and seeing where life takes you. It can be anything from space to fantasy to medieval times to about any time in history to any time that hasn't happened yet.

In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is:Meta-gaming is when you use out of game knowledge and use it in game. So like I use the Lord of the Craft map and know that I am approaching a city, but my player doesn't know that the town is close. It is basically an ability that helps a player know where there going. So instead of aimless wondering it will help you know where you are going. Also lets say you have a skype while you are LotC and your friend is also on Skype and LotC and a bandit comes and tries to mug you. you tell your friend and he comes to rescue you. Meta-gaming is using knowledge out of game to help you in game.

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is:It is when you is the description of abuse when the player uses an emote to describe an action it is also referred to god emoting because it makes it to where the other player can not respond, basically making you ultimately undefetable or to where the other player can not respond at all. This is because it does not give the player a chance to respond.

Power-emoted version

I chop Justin's head off.

Correct version

I swing my sword at Justin's head.

The correct version allows Justin to respond, allowing him a chance to defend himself.

Also this includes doing something that you can't normally do in real life. Like jumping of a cliff and landing on a rock and being perfectly fine, when you are trying to escape from someone. Power-emoting is ultimately making yourself undefetable by another player.

In your own words, define what Out of Character (OOC) is:OOC is when you are taking a break from Role playing really. It is when you do or ask something not in character. So if I where an Orc IC then I would speak the blah IC. OOC is when those rules don't apply, and when you are yourself.

In your own words, define what In Character (IC) is: IC is when you are no longer yourself. You are your character. Nothing that happens in real life will affect your character. Your character is not at all you.

In-Character Details

Character Name:Garret Beretta

Character Race:Elf

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Basic Info:

Garret is 6 feet tall. He is very untrusting, and very secretive. He feels he nust trust someone before he can show them his real self. He is not muscular. He is only good at archery. He is also stealthy. He will try to learn swords once in his life. He wants to learn druid magic, but take the role of a ranger. He is kinda smart. He isn't the brightest, but he is quite smart. Not scholar smart. He is currently 50 years old.

Appearance:

Garret only shows his face to friends. He hides his face in his robes. He is very insecure. So he remains like this. His robes are white with a red trim. He wears a rope sash to hold his bow.

Personality:

Garret is very sneaky and great with a bow. He likes children of all races. He is pretty smart. He isn't good at melee weaponry. He isn't fond of fighting, but he will if needed.

History:

Garret was born in a small village made up of a few races. His heritage is made up of a few subraces. His parents were mainly Wood Elf so that is everyone says he is. His mom's mom was a partially High Elf, and a Wood Elf. His mom's dad was all Wood Elf. His dad's mom was partially Dark Elf. His dad's dad is just a bit of High Elf, but mainly Wood Elf.

Garret studied the other races. He was left out from them most of the time. Garret didn't fit in with the others mainly because he didn't use melee weapons. The others wrestled, used wooden axes, and wooden swords. Garret used a bow. The others exiled garret a bit. There weren't many bow using Elves that lived with Garret. Garret also sneaked around a lot. He would Hide for hours without the others knowing.

Garret found something he enjoyed a lot. Hunting, it was something he enjoyed to do. He never wanted to harm the animals. So he used arrows without arrowheads on them. Just the shaft. So he trained his archery.

Garret decided that upon turning 50 he would leave the village to see the world. His parents deemed him old enough and worthy enough of this.

Garret decided that he would go learn a bit of magic. He wants to learn druid magic. He wants to learn magics that might help with his archery.

What are your characters ambitions?:To become a legendary archer. He wants to be able to sneak and hide everywhere.

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character? No.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

I walk towards the dwarf, and I introduce myself. The dwarf says, "My name is Thoric." He says he is having a rough time selling his armour. I say, "Can I look at your wares?" Thoric says very delighted,"Yes yes thank you yes." I follow Thorik into his store, and see shelves and shelves of some of the most finely crafted armour I have ever seen. He says, "Please take your time looking at my armour." I say, "Ok I will." I start to look around the store, as I see another customer walk in. He looks at all the armour in awe at their craftsmanship. Then just a few seconds another custormer walks in. I find some nice iron armour which I by, and then leave the store. Then I see the store is now getting attention, I leave with a smile. I know that I helped a poor dwarf make a living in the city.

You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

I draw my bow, and yell to the Orc, "This is not the place." The Orc just ignores me. I then go to wake the monk. I walk to him, and start shaking him, but to no avail. I then poor my water on him. The monk jumps. I immediately point to the Orc, and the dwarf. He moves to them, and says, "Orc this is not the place for you 2 to fight." The Orc lowers the dwarf, and then says' "Ok monk mi wizten to you, an Mi iz gonna fin dis dwarfy wader." I nod, hoping the Orc never reaches the dwarf later.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

I grab all the minas. Then I extend my hand towards the man. He grabs my hand, and I pull him up. I give him his money. He thanks me, but still needs my help to stay balanced. I walk him to a chair. I say, "I shall get you a walking stick." I run off. I find a few sticks, and I test one to see of its sturdiness. I find a good stick that will be perfect for a few years. I run back to the man. I hand him the stick. "The elderly man says, " Thank you kind sir." I then leave for my further ventures in asulon.
