The Dull Hammer

A blanket of stars cover Haelun'or, almost watching every single movement that went on in the darkness of the night. Yet, at the docks stood Ardene Telrunya, gazing into the dark black crashing waves. The boat rocks forward slowly, coming to a gentle halt at the dock. Ardene runs her hand through her hair, looking at the city that for years she has called home. Tears begin to well into her eyes, but she shakes it off. Slowly, two hooded men arise from the boat. Ardene can only manage a stiff nod at the two, signaling to them her things. She helps the men carry her belongings to the ship, taking along her trade, her art. The two men look around, eyes shifting before they manage a slow grunt. The weary smith unhinges the flask from her bottle, tasting for what she would believe to be her last time, high elven ale. The drink tasted like bottled memories to her. Finishing the wine, she crushes the bottle, the glass shards embedded in her hands. She looks down at her hands, blistered, bloody, and scarred. The hands of a smith. The stars gaze at the smith, almost have a curious and sad look to them.

"Well, let's get on with it" she whispers sadly, feeling almost vulnerable today.

A note is left in the Telrunya smithy, it reads:

Dear anyone who mildly cares,

Circumstances have caused me to leave the city of Haelun'or and I most likely will not be returning. I have taken my smithing belongings with me, except a few for the next city smith. I bequeath my smithy to the city. My house shall be under the full ownership of my sister, Fern Telrunya. She is to choose how the possessions are to be divided up although I strongly urge her to donate some of it to the city. There is quite a fair bit of wealth stored inside my house. Stay classy, Mali'aheral.
