Lirinya 4024 Share Posted November 28, 2012 Alrighty. I did make a status but, I guess I should post here too. We finally worked out world guard. No idea what was wrong but, use allow regions finally function correctly. [When I saw we I mean Alec, he deserves a thanks for the amount of time and stress he's putting into this.] 95% of the world is done, Alec is working on another island currently but that shouldn't take him long at all. The next big thing will be whitelist. Some have already heard that and/or will have figured out that there is no whitelist. Meaning we will have to come up with an efficient way to whitelist every. Last. Player. I have no idea how we'll be going about this but, we have no choice but to do it manually. This alone is going to be frustrating for the whole team but, the players as well. You may find that there are times where your friends may be on, and you aren't. There are also a lot of apps not even around any more, so older players may get the back end of the stick. When something is decided, and thought out, we'll let you know.
Gunner 775 Share Posted November 28, 2012 Tis.. Abit annoying knowing you have too do it manually. BUT! I'm not being harsh. You guys are doing alot of work, and I appreciate that. <: Hope the server will come up tomorrow.
Aryon 679 Share Posted November 28, 2012 You could temporarily give the App Team access to the /pex user <MC Name> group set <Normal Player Group> if you wanted. Though it could be a massive hole in the servers security, I'm sure none of us would abuse it.

Gunner 775 Share Posted November 28, 2012 My app is long gone Liri, This means I have to re-apply ;-;? Wouldn't think so.. The whole application forum would be flooded.
Lirinya 4024 Author Share Posted November 28, 2012 Like I said, nothings been decided on the whitelisting fully as of yet.
SkyyoBee 249 Share Posted November 28, 2012 That's great! Sucks about the whitelisting though, wish I could help, not much I can do though :3 You have my mental support!
Aryon 679 Share Posted November 28, 2012 Wouldn't think so.. The whole application forum would be flooded. We are not doing that. No matter what happens, I refuse to sift through 3,000+ applications with a team of 23. It would be inefficient, and simply ridiculous. Besides, we just need to look in the archives. Even though there are 28,000 apps in there...

♦ Kal ♦ 242 Share Posted November 28, 2012 There are probably something between 1500 and 2000 whitelisted players on the server. I don't want to be you right now. Dear lord.
Gillard 18 Share Posted November 28, 2012 A shame. I think Aryon's idea is good and should definitely be considered.
Lirinya 4024 Author Share Posted November 28, 2012 Alec just came up with an idea and, if possible and successful, could save us all that. However, it could result in him ruthelessly coding for hours. Lets see what turns out of this.

Lets see what turns out of this. A team of 40 working together to clear out the whitelist is not very good, but shoving a single coder to do all the work? Meant as a joke :
