Full Name: Jordan King

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): When I was only a child, I was living in a cramped wooden cabin in the woods with a rough dirt floor. Every night we would sleep in beds that my mother and sister had fashioned from logs and trees. Although we did not want to cut down the forest, we had to so we could survive. Every time it rained, I would feel slight drops of water on my face. My brain would keep me up at night. I would imagine what I could do if I were an adventurer.

 

               When I turned fifteen, my parents scraped up enough gold nuggets to buy us a boat so we could travel where the humans were. When we arrived, they would stare at us. I noticed that they had smaller ears than we did. I eventually earned a job where I would clean an old man's shop. His name was Norman Kerr, and he would pay me two gold nuggets every week, which was an amazing income in my mind.

         

               When I turned sixteen, I got another job where I learned how to steer a boat. I loved the feeling on the water, where you glide into the endless ocean in front of you. Little drops of saltwater spraying in your face, and the wind in the direction of your face. I started driving people across the water a few months later. They would pay me one gold nugget every time I drove one person across. I did this for three years, until I turned twenty-two. When that happened, I was walking at night. I stepped around an alley to retrieve a loose golden nugget.

            As I turned to leave, two orcs were standing in my way, or so I thought. I third orc, bigger than both stepped through them. My legs were shaking. One landed a punch on my face. I was brutally beaten. After the biggest one landed a fourth punch on my ear, blackness coated my sight.

 

          The next morning, I ran to a shop window. My face was covered with blood. My nose looked crushed. I looked at the window. I must've been so into my boats that I didn't realize this new shop. On the window it said, Adventurers Welcome. I wondered what is was, but it looked promising. I rushed inside, and a man was at a desk. He said, "Judging by your appearance, I can see you're fit for the job." I didn't know what he meant until I was beckoned into a room where a wall of weapons was, and a piece of paper. "Can you read and write?" the man asked. I told him I could, and he handed me the paper. It was an application.

 

          I filled it out, knowing inside what it was for. I attempted to act calm on the outside, and this worked, but on the inside I was jumping up and down. When I finished, he looked it over. Again, he motioned for me to follow. He opened a door and I followed. On a wall was as many weapons as anyone could imagine. But only one caught my eye. A bow and arrow. He handed it to me along with a quiver and arrows.

 

         That is where my adventure starts.

 

Ambitions for the Future: Wants to meet a friendly woman and dog to help in his adventures.
 

Personality: Not the most daring, intelligent, humorous, and loyal.
 

Skills: Archery is one of his top skills, as his father has taught him the skill ever since his great grandfather learned on his own. He can also read and write very well.

Any other details you wish to share about your character: If he gets himself a dog, he wishes to name it Penny, as long as it is female, which he hopes for. Ironically, although his name is King he does not wish to be of royalty. He wants to adventure and has heard a rumor that royalty does not go on many adventures.

[b]1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?[/b]
 

Answer: I am afraid of the figure. Seeing the guards, I begin to make my way toward him. I shout at a guard, "Is it fine if I help? I'm experienced, I swear!" The guard shrugs me off, until I show him the card that the man who gave me my bow handed to me. He yelled back whilst sprinting, "Fine, help us!" I run ahead of him and cut through a yard. I jump in front of the man and hold him down. I feel guilty about doing this, even though I know he's a bad guy. The guards shout, "What are you doing to that guy?!" I pull up his hood, and he looks pale and frightened. Then it hit me. This isn't who the guards are chasing! I pull the man up and dust him off. But before I can finish, he pulls away. "Get away from me!" he yells. I decide not to help in that chase.

 

[b]2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?[/b]

 

Answer: I put away the sword, and grab out my bow. Not yet do the bandits see me. I duck under the bushes as they look my way. Too late. I hear footsteps getting closer to my direction. I don't want to kill them, but I want to save the old man! I start to crawl outside the bush and get to the other side as the bandits look around. They stay crouched under there, looking for me. I tell the old man to follow me. He obeyed, although he looked frightened. "Don't worry," I whispered, "I'm here to help you." He nods, and we start running towards the castle. We hear the bandits shout, but we don't turn back. I save him.

You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).[/b]

 

Answer: I look at the items he is selling. It is mostly animals such as chickens and cows. But one catches my eye. He's selling a dog! I ask him if I could give him ten gold bars for the dog. He laughs, and hands me the dog as I hand him gold. Fortunately, the dog was female. I dubbed her as Penny. I pulled a plant sprouting from the castle out of the ground and tied it around her neck. She started to follow me already? I smiled.
