Alatar grew up in the north-west of the wilds. His parents were mugged and killed whilst getting firewood just after his birth.

after his parent's death he was found by a small family of humans wandering past the wilds border.

this family (the Yarrum family) raised him and cared for him as if he was their own.

at the age of 21 (3 seasons) the family bought him an iron sword which he soon named "ol' trusty".

Alatar was held captive by orcs at the age of 28, this made him question his respect for them.

 

when he reached his 6th season he had moved out from the Yarrum house and started wandering the wilds, though oddly enough never encountered a single bandit.

after half a month in the wild he found and tamed a pig. this pig (named sir pig) was Alatar first real friend.

sadly he it was brutally ripped apart by orcs during the night while they slept, this led Alatar to the conclusion that orcs where trouble. he currently sends most of his life wandering the lands.

[b]1. Whilst mining deep in the undergrounds of Kalos you see a large deposit of diamond ore at the other side of the ravine you are on. There is a very thin rock bridge that looks precariously unstable, but it is the only way to access the deposit. What do you do?[/b]

Answer: after staring at the diamonds for a bit thinking of what i should do i notice a rock on the floor.

as i pick it up i throw it onto the bridge, it holds it. i decide to walk across taking very large steps, i hate heights so i try to hurry my pace but the bridge seems endless.i manage to cross but my pickaxe breaks before i can mine the last 2 pieces.

trying to get back across i take small steps being careful not to drop any of my diamonds. a small piece of iron ore falls from my pocket and as i make the fatal mistake of picking it up the bridge starts to collapse.i break into a run and jump just as the rock crumbles from beneath me.

i lose most of the diamonds but manage to save enough for a pick.

[b]2. You are sitting in the local tavern with a large pint of ale in your hand - sitting nearby you is a rather young dwarf whom is clearly going through a bad time. He is crying to himself, and clutching a small wooden hammer toy. In the other corner of the room two shady dwarves are sitting whispering to each other and pointing occasionally at the dwarf. They stand up, one with a small dagger in his hand and begin to approach the young dwarf. What do you do?[/b]

Answer: i sit rather still on the stool drinking my ale, watching the dwarf from the corner of my eye.

i notice the dwarf raise the dagger above his head, about to stab the dwarf. i spin round jumping of my stool  and pulling my blade out from its sheath.

the dwarfs notice and from shock of the dagger the other falls from his seat. everybody gasps and looks at us.

one dwarf lunges at me with his knife as the other lifts up a stool and throws it.

the stool misses and hits the wall as the dagger comes down to my side, i stab him and he drops his dagger.

he falls to the floor bleeding, i jump onto the other dwarf as he goes to grab for the dagger.

i quickly hit him round the head with the sword handle making him unconscious.

i help the young dwarf up and start to ask him what happens as everybody goes back to drinking.

 

[b]3. Whilst wandering through the Dwarven Caverns you hear a voice call out to you; “Oi, ye’! C’mere n’ get ye’rself an ale!”. You spin on your heel and see a heavily bearded bar-owner looking at you - a huge grin on his face, and a mug of ale in his hand. How do you react?[/b]

Answer: i smile and nervously walk up to the bar-owner. he doesn't look shifty but i can't be sure, i really want the ale.

i pull out a few minas and start to hand them to the man...then i stop.

"you drink first" i say and the dwarf takes a small sip of the ale. 

i see that it's safe and hand the bar-keeper the rest of the money in exchange for the beer.

we clink our mugs together and drink, the cooling liquid drips onto my beard and i continue on walking through the caves whistling a merry tune.
