Role-playing: I would define role-playing as taking control of another person, a character, and inheriting their own beliefs, abilities, and thoughts, to control them while setting aside your own. To me, in a sense and some cases, like acting.

Meta-gaming: The use of Out-Of-Character knowledge to benefit yourself In Character.

Power-emoting: Completing an impossible action or more commonly, causing yourself to win a battle you did not even fight.

Full Name: Jake "Blitz" Holliday

Current Age: 24

Sub-race (if any): Northerner

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Born into Oren, his family was under the constant threat of the undead. As a child, the mere thought of aggressive walking corpses chilled his bones more than the harsh winters ever could. Despite the fact, he loved the woods. Most of his time he spent hunting, fishing, and enjoying the forests. On one of his hunting trips he found a Tokay gecko, which stays with him to this day. He named it Chimera. His family lived on the outskirts of town, providing for their own needs and rarely heading to the market. His father taught him to be a doctor and allowed him to help work at the clinic when he was fourteen. Naturally an introvert, he usually kept to himself yet stayed loyal to the few friends he had.

Several years past before he enlisted in the military as a medic and got the nickname "Blitz". It was midnight when a surge of undead flooded into the town. Taken off guard, and still half asleep he mistook the heavy banging on the door for a person knocking, and opened it. The rotted corpse lunged at him just as he came to his sense and lashed out at it with his knife. Stepping outside he saw bodies littered the streets and hurried over the help a group of men fighting their way out of an alley. He caught up to them just as an undead grabbed him from behind. He jumped back but it slashed at him, gouging his left eye out before he could sink his dagger into its stomach. The fight permanently scarred his face, and his pride.

Ambitions for the Future: He never had a real dream or ambition, but lived life day to day as it came. The closest things that have come close to a primary desire for him were money, land, sleep, and food.

Personality: Primarily quiet and peaceful, he keeps to himself as much as possible. Normally only talks much to his closer friends or unless its truly necessary. He has a strong compassion for the poor and needing, causing him to be susceptible to being easily deceived.

Skills:

Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Often wears a large red overcoat and a bandana tied around his face. His left eye was slashed out scarring his forehead. Medium built and stands around 5'10" with short crew cut blonde hair.

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer: Jake follows the man from a distance, careful not to seem as if he is following him. As the shady figure fades into the palace he approaches him. "What business might you have with the Emperor dressed like that?" "Business that is none of your own," the man snaps back caught off guard. Jake raises his voice just loud enough to be heard from a good distance "Just thought the guards would have possibly disliked you carrying that blade under your robes in here is all," "Is a man not liable to defend himself? Now scurry on about your own life," the man retorts back with a little anxiety in his tone. Jake raises his voice even louder and begins to speak when the man lunges at him, pulling a small scimitar from its sheath but is interrupted by the blow of the back of a guard's halberd to his head. "Hm, don'know how this one managed to slip through. Much appreciate the help." Jake nods and walks back out onto the busy streets.

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer: Jake sticks to the woodline, creeping closer in to listen to them. After he is fairly sure of their intent he unsheathes his sword and grabs a small rock from nearby. He slings the rock as hard as he can, nailing one of the bandits in the back of the head. As he turns to look behind him Jake sprints from the opposite side of the woods sending a deadly slash accross the other man's chest and kicking him to the ground. The old man stumbles back into the house, barring the door as the second man lunges at Jake. He side steps around him gashing the man's side as he sprints back into the woods. As the bandit starts to chase off after him the old man sneaks up planting his knife between his ribs. Jake watches from the woods line as the remaining bandit crumples to the ground before walking back off to the dirt trail.

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer: "Any medical supplies? Tools?" The man digs through several bags before pulling out several boxes "Aye, a few." Jake opens one of the boxes and examines everything very closely "Seven Minas work for you?" "You don't think that is a little low lad?" The man sighs "I could do ten" "Deal." He searches around some more before spotting a shining piece of metal under the table. The man pulls out the large pair of iron gauntlets and sets them on top of one of the boxes. "And I s'pose I could part with these for the right price. Made by my father some years back for a man but he never came back for them. They're of the highest quality iron, I assure you. Twenty Mina's and they're yours." Jake tries them on and digs around in his bag before handing over the money. "I ought to get going, thanks for everything." As he turns to walk away a rather large crossbow catches his eyes from under the clutter of the table. After looking it over several times he drops the bag of Minas on the table. "How much?" "More than you've got Im afraid." "What if I can hit that candle over there? Up for some sport?" "Sport, not gambling. Come back with the Minas or don't come back at all." With that he walks off still content with what he did manage to get.
