NekoTwilight 9 Share Posted April 28, 2013 Hey everyone! I've just come back to LoTC (well, yesterday) after more then a year and a half away. There's been a lot of changing, and I'd like some help in figuring them out. 1) I really don't understand the soulstone system. I've done searching, have asked around, and tried it myself. I don't understand how to "select" a pillar (shift click, etc), how to "set" a soulstone (/setsoul) doesn't seem to work. I've heard some say its been disabled. I just want to set a "warp" so I can quickly get back to an area. Can anyone help me with this? 2) The wilds are ugly! I was pretty shocked. I'm aware that this is a new map, and permissions will be loosened soon, but will the existing wilds be deleted? The buildings are mainly of a quality that I had not remembered being around in LoTC. Is the wilds the only place I can build a house, besides buying one in the main map? 3) Back in the day, my donation enabled me to have a protected plot of land. I'm guessing this has been removed. I was already told the minas for donations was taken away (which makes sense). 4) Iron/gold/diamonds/etc can only be obtained by purchasing them? o_o? There are none in the environment? Anyway, it's really good to be back. My appreciations in advance for any responses. I've done my best to try and find the answers to these before posting. everblue2er101 906 Share Posted April 28, 2013 1. Use /ss in-game for the exact commands. There is no /setsoul or way to choose where to warp to, it was removed after being abused. Currently soulstones go to pillars or the Cloud Temple. 2. The existing wilds probably won't be deleted. Currently they are the only place with no perms, but as you're aware, this is going to change. Remember there's always the chance that Dragons/rampaging Orcs/bandits will remove/burn ugly buildings in the wilds. 3. It was removed, yes. 4. Ores were removed before Anthos was released and iron/gold/diamonds cannot currently be mined. There are two coal regenerating coal mines that are being tested, and if successful there's a chance that iron/gold/diamond mines will be opened as well. Currently the only way to get these is to buy them. Diamonds, however, are a banned item in Anthos and should not exist. Welcome back, hope this helps.
Elindor 666 Share Posted April 28, 2013 Remember there's always the chance that Dragons/rampaging Orcs/bandits will remove/burn ugly buildings in the wilds. Or just pissed off wizards. Also your soulstone will take you to spawn. Otherwise you want to shift+left click (or right) to an empty spot and then stand next to one of those 3 block pillars of emerald to bind another soulstone location. Also I have my very noob question. Where is the wilds? There's a boat or something? Where is it?
everblue2er101 906 Share Posted April 28, 2013 Also I have my very noob question. Where is the wilds? There's a boat or something? Where is it? If you can make it to the Crossroads there are signs leading to the Wilds boat from there. It's free fast travel to get to the Wilds island.
NekoTwilight 9 Author Share Posted April 28, 2013 Thanks very much to all! The soulstone system makes sense now. I've seen a few emerald pillars around while out and about, and will use them forthwit. Shame about the protected land being removed, though like the minas injections I can understand the reasoning. As per my other questions, bands of wild Orcs with a distaste for poor architecture would be a welcome sight indeed; though from what I can discern they are not very active in their house smashing duties. Anyway, thanks all again! Much helpful.
