Errand 19 Share Posted June 14, 2013 Out-Of-Character InformationMinecraft Account Name: Errand5 How old are you?: 20 Time-Zone: GMT 0:00 (United Kingdom) Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: I have read them, and I fully agree to follow them. What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I first started role-playing on Runescape when it was young, similar to myself. However that proved too spontaneous and chaotic, therefore I began role-playing in a more organized fashion on World of Warcraft, under various numbers of guilds. However as my exams came when I was 16 I had to stop and look for work. Now, I'm hoping to get back into serious role-play within a nice and comfortable community. How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: I heard about Lord of The Craft through my Brother, who I won't mention just in case he's a spy of red team. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: N/a Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): I will post it after writing it up on here first. The link will appear here if done so; [/\] Have you read the Human lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: I can to the best of my creative skills, hopefully. Although I do not plan to have my character intentionally related to the Holy Oren Empire, as I feel creating a back-story within such would be a little too chaotic.DefinitionsIn your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:Role-playing: Role-playing is the method of connecting, acting and resolving your own role in your own character, in a world perhaps unique or real to life. Role-playing in LoTC is clearly role-playing in an environment that is based around fantasy and medieval settings, where you would play your own character that you yourself have created, and you alone. Through role-play, people interact with each others' characters, and objects or places around them. Meta-gaming: Meta-gaming is the use of outside knowledge to further yourself, or even to weigh the odds more fairly without sufficient role-play to back up your claim to such knowledge. It would be meta-gaming to use somebody's Minecraft Name, for instance, to instantly acknowledge who they are in role-play. However, it is not meta-gaming to acknowledge them out of character, first. Power-emoting: The act of overwhelming, overacting or overpowering an action through an emote. For example; holding two two-handed swords and swinging them as if they were feathers, whilst wearing heavy armor, is power-emoting, as it is blatantly impossible. Another example however, would be not allowing another user to perform their own reactions to your attacks / emotes, and thus assuming that you've hit them, or passed them in role-play.In-Character Information:Complete the following biography on your character:Full Name: Edward Errand Current Age: Mid-thirties Sub-race (if any): Northerner Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): The Current History of Edward Errand, and House Errand itself Born under the shelter of his Father's minor castle, Brynnwood, soon-to-be Lord Edward came out with dark yet stark brown hair. His Mother was named Wynné Harrel, of a different House and name until Edward's Father was betrothed to her. His Father was a tough man. Hardy and steadfast in all his decree. His name was Walter Errand, and his House was a very minor one at that. Nobody really knew they existed, as they didn't fall directly under the Realm of the Holy Oren Empire, nor did it maintain much land but the basic Fort and village around it. In his teens, Edward was trained with the sword and bow, horse and shield like most youngsters in Brynnwood. His Father ensured he could use his sword, but his archery and shield skills were lacking, if existent. Though he could ride a horse from the North to Krugmar should he choose to. His Father was very respectful of Edward's freedoms. He let him lead the Townsguard at the age of fifteen, where he saw little battle at all. Occasional Orc or Elven scouts. The obvious race always fought, but the latter was easily swayed from combat, which Edward could negotiate well. When he turned eighteen, Edward was officially allowed to Steward in his Father's stead, as he went off to fight in Emperor Godfrey's battles. Edward grew his strength of leadership in this time, yet it was a struggle at first. His men were weary, as they were only a small village, with as equally a small garrison, with an even small fort. But Edward was able to spur his men into defense when Salvian raiders came after their Capital city was about to be crushed. Edward was able to defend against these men, and keep his Village and House name and honor. He even let the few prisoners they kept go, as they sworn to fight for Godfrey instead of Salvus, which was now in ruin in some ways. But Edward suffered some hardships after the battle. His Father, Walter, had died. And nothing that Edward did could reverse that. He was killed in the defense of Hanseti against the Dwarves, when the Holy Oren Empire was reaching it's pinnacle in Asulon. But Robert was able to recover from this quite well. On his journey to Anthos, he managed to push away the bad thoughts, and bring happier ones with him. He is now in Anthos today, looking for work. His House now gone since the departure of Asulon. But he still keeps the name. Ambitions for the Future: Edward wants to become a Knight of Oren, to protect the people and defend the land once more. Yet he also wants a wife, and children. Personality: Edward is quite a stern man. He has a coldness behind his common accent, as if his Northerner blood seeps out of his breath and into the ears of those he speaks so. But he is quite humorous, too. He can take and make a joke or two. But usually only to good friends, who he makes easily. Perhaps a downside of his. Skills: He can use a sword relatively well, as such with a horse. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Any other details you wish to share about your character: N/aOpen-Response-QuestionsEach question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?Answer: Edward builds up a bit of pride and lets out a large shout, which reaches the guard. They narrow their eyes at him as they stand up from their food and drinks around a torch-lit table. One finally notices where Edward is pointing, and begins to take chase. Edward doesn't take chase, however. He knows that the peacekeeping guards can do their duty, just as well as he had done his as a citizen.2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react? Answer: Edward undoubtedly approaches, he yells over; "Hey! What do you think you're doing? Threatening an old man..." He pauses as he looks to the old man with a rueful set of eyes. "You should be ashamed, both of you." The bandits look at each other, weighing the risk. They lash out, and one makes a strike towards Edward with a heavy, sluggish stroke. Edward brings his ready sword arm to match the equally capable bandit, and attempts to slip his sword down the bandit's. It succeeds by chance, and Edward ends up cutting into the bandit's hand. The other bandit cowers a slight as Edward makes a threatening stance as if he would do the same again should he have to. Both the bandits begin to back off, and Edward accompanies the old man into his home again, where they discuss talking to the Emperor about ensuring the safety of his home.3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).Answer: Although Edward doesn't find himself buying from general goods stores often, as he likes to have a definitely idea what he is going out to buy, he does decide to stop by this time. And by chance, the storekeeper seems to have a certain blue cloak that Edward would like very much. "Morning." Edward says in quite a common way. The storekeeper nods his head with cheer; "Aye! Good mornin' to ya! Best stop in all Anthos here." Edward eyes the blue cloak with his finger upon his chin, nodding a slight. "Seems so, I'll take that if you don't mind." His head nods to the cloak with direction. "Oooooh, a mighty good choice that'n is!" He says with quite a strongly cheery accent. "'Ere, let me grab that for ya'" The storekeeper says, grabbing the cloak carefully and brings it almost within Edward's reach. "Now... a price." The storekeeper says with less cheer. Edward takes out of his pocket a pouch of Minas, and counts briefly up to ten, each worth two mina. He hands the man the money, almost assuming it to be enough. "Uh... are ye' sure?" The keeper says. Edward nods as the storekeeper hands the cloak blindly to him, a smile now appearing on Edward's face as he unravels it and tries it on briefly. "Mhm, quite a good fit a' think. Thank you, friend." Edward's voice would utter with a bit more joy than before. Still cold, though.
