Caelria 2619 Share Posted July 18, 2013 The current resting place of this Journal is... If you found the link, you know where it is. Entry One, Mother always told me I was different... I suppose that is why I was taught to greet people with a "Karin'ayla" rather than a "Hello". I had never truly given it much thought until now, though. Never considered that the sailors around might stare at me not out of discipline, or because I am their captain, but out of curiosity. Never envisioned the slaves in the fields to hunch ever lower out of not only their usual routine, but out of fear that I would be some new threat to them. My ears are beginning to poke out from under my hair, apparently growing along side my own body, and the clothes mother and I brought along with us on this adventure are beginning to become tight. She has not a care in the world, a slave to her own distractions. Her officers all look upon me with scorn, as if I am some sort of monster... I hope I'm not. Entry Two, Fear. Fear of what is different. Humans are silly things, though mother tells me to treat them with respect. From my books they only live a tenth of how long I do. They look like bees, buzzing about accomplishing task after task with nothing but determination to complete the chain. An ideal species of workers and farmers. The slaves in the field are humans, and the people who lift the sails and keep the flooring clean are humans, but my mother and I are captains and we've been here for less time than some of the recruits that are still in training. Does being an Elf truly merit so much?
