Bircalin 332 Share Posted August 15, 2011 I was thinking back to the recent attacks on SnowyFields from the Undead when a thought crossed my mind. Why don't the Undead have their own city/realm? The Ascended have Haven after all. Of course, the Undead have their strong fort, but surely it would have stronger effect for them to have their own region? Like Mordor for example? I feel as though it would make them even more macabre, having the fort far in the distance, away from society. Where the anvils clang, and screams of torture can be heard. Maybe they could have their own volcano, similar to Mount Doom. Or just an ordinary volcano! Of course, this would take a great deal of time to make such a place and after all, it is only an idea and im sure others would much prefer it as i would. Im not saying " Off with the Undead!" send them away! Obviously they will still have these forts. So, in conclusion. My idea is this... Create a dark and evil place relatively far from society, with black mountains and storms are often occuring. Where volcanos roar and forts tower the area. let this be the undeads home. Or even a capital? Thank you for your time. feel free to comment your thoughts.
Tyrion 119 Share Posted August 15, 2011 We do have cities. We have Drauchriem and Striqaephoth. Drauchriem -The capital, it hangs from the top of the Nether over a massive lake of lava and fire. It is known to be impregnable, and hasn’t been seen by any but the Undead nor is there any way to enter or exit it known to any mortal. It is the home of many Necromancers, and the training grounds for Apprentices. The architecture of Drauchriem is dark, making use of spires for housing and fire for light. Striqaephoth - Known as the Floating City, it is an outpost for the Undead. It is the home of some Undead, and also is used for battle planning and sacrifice. You must be sacrificed here and turned undead to enter the Nether and hope to survive. This is where recruits come to be turned undead and start as an apprentice. The architecture of Striqaephoth is, put simply, Gothic. With a strong emphasis on elegance, cobblestone makes the majority, with accents of obsidian. Glowstone is used for lighting. The city is floating, and looks almost like a chunk of the Nether was put into Aegis
Bircalin 332 Author Share Posted August 15, 2011 Aaah yes of course! I have visited Striqaephoth once, when travelling. it does indeed look like a chunk of the nether! I just feel as though something like Drauchriem in the ordinary world would be wonderful. To actually come across it would be so breath-taking. I wasn't even aware nether was available? i had heard if you go there you get hurt over time, but i thought that was just rumour. I guess when the 1.8 update is released and extreme biomes are introduced volcanos will be around anyway.
