Out-Of-Character Information

The simplest section of the application! Simply answer these questions so we
can get to know you a bit better.

What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: - Captain_Guy

How old are
you?: -
17

What time-zone
do you live in?: -
Central Standard Time

Have you ever roleplayed before - if you have, how?: - Yes, in text roleplays and in Minecraft.

Have you been
on any other roleplaying servers?: -
Yes.

How did you hear about us?: - Found a suggestion for it from a web search.

What do you
think the server will be like? –
Larger and more crowded than I’m used to, but probably fun.

Have you read
and agreed to the rules?: -
Yes. Yes.

What’s your favourite rule / the rule
you agree with the most?: -
“We care about our players, so we don't allow bullying,
blackmailing or bribery at all OOC'ly. Make sure you treat
other people in a kind and friendly manner.”

Definitions
This is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you know
about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure that you
write the reply in your own words, not Google’s.

What is roleplaying?: - Taking
on the behavior of a character, often involving interaction with others who are
doing the same. This will generally involve collaborating to create an interactive story that is driven by the decisions of the characters involved. Actions one takes in roleplays should be driven by character motivation rather than the motivation of roleplayer.

What’s metagaming?: - Using
knowledge known to yourself but which your character would not know to your
advantage. An example of metagaming would be, if you learned the location of someone who your character is looking for for whatever reason while OOC, then using that knowledge to find the character without any way of him or her knowing what you discovered.

What’s powergaming?: - Giving
your character abilities that places him or her at an advantage over others.
Always coming out on top. An example of powergaming would be stating in a roleplay fight that "Bob punches Jim in the face, knocking him to the ground." It gives the other roleplayer no chance to respond to an action. A more appropriate thing to say would be that "Bob takes a swing at Jim."

In-Character Information
Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make
sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character
that you actually want to play.

What’s your character called?: - Nihraus Taurek

What race are they (and sub-race)?: - High Elf

What sex are they?: - Male

How old are they?: - 191

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood,
family: -
Nihraus was
born on a family farm to Lifith Taurek, who moved to the country from Laurelin
to escape the atmosphere of the city, and Kasser Taurek, a former therapist who
fell in love with the rural lifestyle. He was the first live birth of his

parents, having been preceded by a boy and a girl who both died in the womb. From
a very young age they knew that something was unusual about him; he did not
learn to speak until his twentieth year, he glared and even growled at strangers,
and often burst into bouts of inappropriate emotion. Growing up he was a rather
spacey and incompetent farm hand. In their young years, his two sisters, born sixteen
and thirty three years after himself, found his unusual behaviors amusing, but
upon reaching adulthood became highly exasperated with him. Long after his
siblings had matured and moved on, Nihraus was at home in the care of his
parents, who were thoroughly convinced that he was incapable of providing for
himself. Despite this, he was not entirely helpless. While his father’s
attempts at teaching him farming and archery failed, Nihraus often protected
the farm from monsters of the night with a blade, and for many years those
around him were convinced that chasing off danger would be all he would be
capable of. However, shortly after learning to speak, he took to reading, which
became a great passion for him. He often pestered his parents to get him new
reading material, but in the country books were few and far between. In the absences
of stories or facts to keep him occupied, he took to writing his own. When
Aegis fell, Nihraus was more in awe than anything; when he left he did so only
reluctantly, at his parents’ urging. In Asulon he found himself wandering more
than anything else, leaving the protection of his parents to slate the curiosity
that the fall of Aegis had set free. In his travels he discovered an ability new
to him; the power to change the world around him with words and actions. He
attributed this, in his mind, to balance and chaos. On one hand was peace and
contentment, on the other, war and ambition. Ambition was to leave balance, to
create a ripple, to distort the world, for good or for bad. If one could preserve
the good in the world where he or she found it, then they could create a
lasting balance. His migration to Anthos was, again, reluctant. There was no
balance in the world, it was all in constant motion. He realized that balance could
not truly survive while imperfection existed.

What are they like (personality)?: - Nihraus is eccentric and spacey, apathetic but in a strange way
passionate, at times a slave to his mind’s will. He is curious to understand the
world and relies heavily on himself for his opinions, though he is interested
in hearing the views of others. He also enjoys writing, and has a particular
interest in psychology.

What are their ambitions?: - To bring his strange sense of “balance” into the world where he can,
though he does not pursue this adamantly, and to survive.

Do they have any special skills?: - He is self-educated (particularly in the field of psychology), he can
write well, he is familiar with farming techniques, and he has a basic
familiarity with swords.

What are their weaknesses?: - He tends towards apathetic peculiarity but has occasional breakdowns of eccentricity bordering on madness. Both of these make social interaction very
difficult for him.

What do they look like?: - On the short side for an Elf, with unusually dark long hair. His
skin is fair.

Anything else you want to say about them?: - Nope.
