How did you hear about us?: - Through looking for roleplay servers that most people roleplayed on and I found this server.

What do you think the server will be like? - I think it will be a fun challenging RP server that will test my abilities at roleplaying and perhaps help me even get better then I currently am.

What is roleplaying?: - When you take upon a character and act out their daily actions in life.

What’s metagaming?: - Using out of in-game information to act out one's decision. Example: Joe and Bob are in a Skype call and bob gets killed by bandits and Bob tells Joe where the bandits are and that they killed him so Joe can go where the bandits were maybe 100 blocks away and fight them.

What’s powergaming?: - When someone forces their character to do something unrealistic such as Bob stole all of Isaac's valuables that were in his pockets quickly slashed his throat and ran.

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family: - 

 

Thomas grew up in a
small countryside home ran by his beloved parents who owned a granary and
produced wheat and other sorts of food for the military.  When Thomas was
in his teens he studied business as much as he could since he was an ambitious
merchant.  One day when Thomas was around the age of 17 a caravan came by
his parents granary and they noticed thomas studying so one of the merchants
came up to Thomas and asked him what he was studying, Thomas replied and said
"My good sir I am studying the art of business."  The merchant
replied and said "Oh really? Well then I would like to take you under my
wing as an apprentice and teach you the trade." Thomas was so excited that
he went to go ask his parents his father said "Thomas that is wonderful
you may go learn the art of business with the caravan."  So once
Thomas left with his belongings he traveled across the land of Anthos."
 ((This is the end of Thomas' past he is at the age of 19 and has traveled
with the caravan for 2 years but now must start his own business.))

 

 

What are they like (personality)?: -  Thomas is a very outgoing young man and he tends to act very confident around people.

What are their ambitions?: - Thomas is looking to open his own business and start his own Caravan after having learned from other merchants for years.

Do they have any special skills?: -  Thomas is good at bartering with fellow merchants.  He tends to go for the lowest price so he can sell for a higher in another region.

What are their weaknesses?: - Thomas is not very good at fighting and tends to try to avoid it.

What do they look like?: - Young looking, medium height, brown hair, wears a brown outer coat and white tunic, and has medium length hair.

Anything else you want to say about them?: -  No.

While I do think you did a very nice job with this application, there are a few things I'd like you to fix. A couple of them were not mentioned in your previous application, however, one of the two things I plan to mention was something which you changed from your previous application unnecessarily.

 

For one, your powergaming definition is not quite right. While I do believe you have a decent understanding on the concept, your definition does leave a bit of doubt. Refer to this wiki page and edit it accordingly for your next application, but please do not plagiarize.

 

Another issue with your application was your biography. It was quite nice, and a good enough length, but it really did not use much server lore. Please, just take a few moments to look over our wiki and sprinkle in some important people, events, places or other bits of our lore to let us know you have a certain level of understanding of the lore of Lord of the Craft.

 

Lastly, and this is a pretty minor one, your skin does not represent a Southeron. A Southeron would have darker, brown skin, or at least a cinnamon-colored skin. Perhaps you could try to alter this, or otherwise apply as a different subtype or with no subtype.

 

I really do feel pretty conflicted with this decision, which is odd, as most of the things are quite minor, but I really can't accept you with your powergaming definition incorrect, and the other issues add a bit too much to set it to pending. If you need to, I will see to it that you are allowed one more application this month, as I am denying you for something which was not mentioned in your previous application.
