Have you ever roleplayed before - if you have, how?:  I have been
roleplaying since 2006, primarily running and participating in semi to
adv. lit forum roleplays on gaia.

Have you been on any other roleplaying servers?: In Minecraft? No.

Have you applied to this server before?(Please link past applications):  No.


How did you hear about us?: Jadekadoa has not stopped talking
about it for six months. I have finally decided to try it with much of
her coaxing and a small bribe.

What do you think the server will be like?:  From what I've read, it
appears to be a cross between Dungeons and Dragons, The Lord of the
Rings, and Minecraft. I do believe it will be quite different from the
type of roleplaying I currently do.

Have you read and agreed to the rules?:  Yes.

What’s your favourite rule / the rule you agree with the most?:  "You don't need to permanently kill your character when you die."





Definitions

This is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you
know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure
that you write the reply in your own words, not another website /

What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is the act of taking on the
persona of a character, and acting out a story through them with the
combined interaction of one or more people.

What’s metagaming?:  Omniscience in character. Breaking the fourth
wall. Your character having knowledge they shouldn't be able to have.
Just because you know something, doesn't mean the character should.

What’s powergaming?:  Irritating. It is the act of controlling or
damaging another person's character, usually without their permission or giving them proper opportunity to react.
Often frowned upon in roleplay.



In-Character Information

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay
reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to
come up with a character that you actually want to play.


What’s your character called?: Sebastian Drake

What race are they (and sub-race)?:  Tali-Valah, Mali-ker.

What sex are they?:  Male.

How old are they?:  26

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood,
family (Include server lore when writing): Sebastian was born in the
midst of a savage blizzard up in Vaerhaven. His mother, Luna Drake, had a
second child, a twin to him, named Seraphine Drake (Jadekadoa's
character). The blizzard grew worse and Luna tried to return to Malinor
with both children but Sebastian had caught an illness. Leaving him in
the care of the doctors in Vaerhaven, she left, taking his twin sister
with her. Not only had his mother become lost to him, but so did his
sister. He was raised by the kind people in Vaerhaven, taught to survive
the colder weather.

Around the time he was ten, he heard of a girl who matched his
sister's description. In spite of feeling like he'd been abandoned by
both sister and mother, he longed to find them, and so he packed his
things and left without a word. However, terrible things were in store
for the young boy. He was caught off guard by some slave traders during a
storm. He ran and found a place to hide, however, they found him. Being
part Mali'ker had its disadvantages. As they pulled him out of hiding,
lightning struck, turning everything a blinding white color.

Then everything went dark. The slave traders had caught him. They
sold him not long after to a noble in Salvus. Unknown to the boy, this
family had a habit of buying slaves and releasing them. Sebastian was
quickly released and sent on his way when he was fifteen. It was then he
ended up in Malinor. Unable to locate the person he thought to be his
sister, he sought out someone else. His father. It was not long before
he found Dante Drake. The two conversed and spoke of his mother, whom he
learned had perished when he was around four or five years old.

He learned Dante had forsaken his sister due to her love for a
Hightower. He was relieved she was safe and happy to have found his
father. As time slowly went by, he was soon reunited with his sister
after she fled from the destruction of Salvus. Overcome by joy the
siblings chatted away, soon fawning over his niece, Alexia Drake.
Sebastian finally found his sister, but a new goal came into his mind.

What are they like (personality)?:  Sebastian is highly loyal to
those that are close to him, however getting close to him is not an easy
task. He tends to be secretly distrusting of most everyone he
encounters, due to his past. He also has abandonment issues from his
childhood, and a strong fear of lightning storms.

What are their ambitions?: Sebastian has achieved his main goal,
finding his sister. Now a new set of goals has arisen. Now that he has
found his sister, he fears losing her again. He wants to protect her and
help her any way he can.

Do they have any special skills?:  Sebastian has some skills with
cooking. He also has proficiency in the use of projectile (thrown)
weapons, archery, and the sword.

What are their weaknesses?:  Not necessarily a physical weakness
persay, but Sebastian's fear of thunderstorms and lightning is somewhat
of a weakness to him. Also his sister could be considered a weakness, as
he is very loyal and would do almost anything for her.

Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?:
Sebastian's appearance somewhat resembles his mixed blood lineage. He
has long black hair (inherited from his grandfather) which goes white at
the tips, pale skin which fades to a bluish color at the tips of his
pointed ears, and ruby red eyes.

Anything else you want to say about them?: Seb is going to be a
counterpart to my friend Jade's character. Not only will it help me
integrate better into the server more smoothly, but also give me a place
to start. I look forward to playing Sebastian and being a part of this
server. Jade has spoken highly of it to me for months before she finally
convinced me to try and join.
