  3. When Livius heard the news, he was sitting by the fire in the tavern of Norland. It had been in the tavern on Aevos, where he'd had so many long conversations with Hick, and if memory served him correctly, it had been where he'd met the old man for the first time. He hadn't thought much of him back then, just an old man seeking a place to stay, he'd thought. Yet to Livius's surprise, he'd found in him not only a close, dear friend but also one of the bravest men he'd known. A task not easily accomplished in a land where he was surrounded by famous warriors. And what a way Hick had become that man Livius would grow to respect! Hick had already been at an age when most humans start to consider their retirement when he began his transformation into the great man he'd become. Coincidentally, it was around the age Livius was now himself, and now that he felt the pressure of all those years on his own shoulders, he was even more impressed by all his friend had accomplished. He didn't cry as he reminisced; instead, a gentle smile formed on his face that so rarely was seen on his features these days. "Goodbye, old friend." He spoke quietly, barely louder than the crackles of the fireplace before him, as he fell back into his memories of their times together.

  5. Map of The Empire of Man as of 2045/ 249 SA [!] The following missive was sent across the lands of the Empire Greetings reader, my name is Livius Flavius, a cartographer from Norland. For the past 15 years I have been working on a map of the Empire of Man, originally commissioned to do so by the Imperial Marshal Manfred von Berkhoven. During this time, the Empire has grown and changed shape. Internally, it has changed as well, but I hope this map should account for how the Empire stands in the year 2045, perhaps in its final form on Aevos. For complaints, suggestions and other purposes of contact send letter to me, Livius Flavius (IGN: Memenade). I aspire to fulfill the highest standards of quality so if you notice any mistakes or oversights tell me about it and I will do my best to rectify it. I have prepared multiple variations and versions of the map that differ slightly or slightly more from one another to satisfy different needs and tastes, all of which you will find below. (OOC note: Open the images to a new tab for best quality and to zoom. The file sizes are very large for an images (60MB) so you might have to wait the image to load for a while.) 6. The now former Master of Gold read through the document and when he reached the end his hands were trembling out of anger and disgust. Yet, he could take certain pride in himself for his own signature was nowhere to be seen. Even if it was only due to the fact he'd slept through the whole proceedings...

  9. Livius would sigh after reading through the missive. "May this assist those who have lost everything". He prepared himself to assist with the festival
  10. After reading through Juniper's note, a response was soon penned and sent. I do not call either side blameless or innocent in any way. However while this does not radicalize me, it does it to my friends and countrymen who wish to see me "avenged" even if I have no need for such. That only pushes them more involved with the war and makes it more difficult for me to convince anyone to keep away from conflicts, now and in the future. All I am saying is that behavior like this towards defenseless people will only create more enemies for that side and make the path towards peace longer and more difficult. - Livius Flavius
  11. [!] This manifest directed at Haense had been spread along the entire path from Norland to New Valdev The Pacifist's Question Short time ago, I was sitting in Norland, my home. Two men approached me and accused me of being a darkspawn. While this made no sense even at the time, they knocked me out, kidnapped me and threw me in a cell. After questioning I was eventually let go and released in your lands. It has since come to my attention it was a third-party who took me, but at the time I believed it had been Haense that took me and I wanted an explanation. Not retribution, but an explanation. I had not traveled into your lands on my own, I had been FORCED there against my own will. I had been knocked unconscious TWICE. So, I made my way to the gates of New Valdev, my head hurting like hell from being bashed in the head twice already. I was UNARMED, a fact confirmed by one of the guards, and anyone with a pair of eyes could see the body I have would struggle even against a child in battle. ALL I wanted was an answer to why I had been treated the way I had. I did not make a single threat and I wasn’t violent. Yet, the guards deemed it necessary to drag me away. Smash my head into the mud, threaten to kill me and my friends, drag me away on a horse, smash my knee in, mock-execute me and leave me in the mud, without the ability to take a single step. All I was doing was seeking for answers why I had been taken away from my home and stuffed in a cell only to be subjected to RIDICULOUS questioning. I have seen criminals treated with more respect and dignity than I was. By a miracle, I made it home alive with the help of who I can only be assume to be locals, and people technically aligned against me due to the war, PROVING that basic decency still exists even during wartime. After having my wound cauterized and going through a knee surgery without anesthesia my friends and countrymen were furious and as you can imagine wanted revenge. You may expect that I’d want myself “avenged”, but you’re wrong. I have openly spoken against the war overall and criticised my OWN government, on the highest council of which I personally sit on, for our involvement in a conflict that should not involve us in ANY way, something that would DIRECTLY benefit you. Yet, your actions only seem to prove the warnings of those pushing for our continued involvement to harm you and make my efforts towards peace more difficult. I will still continue to advocate to end Norland’s participation in the war and I am still not your enemy, but if you continue methods such as these you will MAKE more enemies, that frankly you do not need. Years ago I personally went on a YEARS long project to create a map of your Kingdom. During this project I personally worked with many of your lords, counts and dukes to painstakingly create a map that would satisfy as many as possible. Since then I have befriended many from your realm. I have never wished a single Haenseti-citizen harm and I call many of them my friends. By any stretch of the imagination, I have done multiple times over more good than bad for you, so why did I deserve to be left dying in the mud? Even a pacifist like me understands how you must treat your enemies during a war, but I have just one question for you: Is this how you treat an innocent? Signed by scholar and pacifist, Livius Flavius

  14. Vjardengrad As of SA 222/ IAA 548 Greetings again from your local mapmaker Livius Flavius, coming at you with another new map. This time I've a different kind of map to show since this is not a map of a realm, but a local map of our lovely Capital city of Vjardengrad. Once again thank you to everyone who helped with providing whatever information they could to make this happen. If you see anything wrong with any of the labels or you feel like something is missing, don't hesitate to send me a letter (IGN:Memenade) and I'll rectify the issue. And now, I present to you the map of Vjardengrad. If you'd like to commission a map for your city, castle or holding like this send me a letter (IGN: Memenade) and I'll come meet with you to discuss how I may best help you
  15. Livius Flavius smiled reading the invitation letter in his hospital bed. "Finally... Something pleasant to do" He hummed suprirsed, but grateful for the invitation.
  16. Kingdom of Norland As of SA 219/ IAA 545 Greetings! My name is Livius Flavius, a cartographer, and I am pleased to announce a new and updated edition of the map of Norland for the year SA 219 or more locally 545 in the Ashen calendar. This update was required for the high amount of changes in the landscape and landmarks. Like usual, thank you to everyone who has given me information now and before about the land, names of landmarks and overall information that has been invaluabe in composing this version of the map of Norland. However, without further ado, I present to you the map of Norland: And as usual for those interested in them, here are a couple alternative versions for those who may prefer them: P.S If you're in need of a map I am open to commissions. Send me a letter (IGN: Memenade) if you're interested
  17. [!] A declaration could be found across the noticeboards of Aevos To map all of Aevos My name is Livius Flavius and I am a cartographer from Norland. If you are inclined in the fine art of Cartography you may have come across my humble maps of some of the realms across this continent. I have enjoyed this work and I believe I will continue to, but it is time to aim higher! I want to create the ENTIRE Aevos on a map as accurate as my maps of individual realms have been. As you can see from the map below, the road to my goal is very far away still, but even if it takes the DECADES I plan on seeing the work through! (OOC: OPEN THE MAP ON FULL QUALITY BY CLICKING ON IT) I still take commissions and I would be extremely grateful for them! I will also appreciate any kind of help anyone may be able to provide for my project! Whether it is information for the map or a sponsor or literally ANYTHING related to my work! If you wish to contact me about this map or maps in GENERAL, send me a letter (IGN: Memenade)
  18. Commonwealth of The Petra as of S.A 219/ A.P.R 160 My name is Livius and I'm a cartographer from Norland. For the past over two saint's weeks I've been working on a map of the beautiful Commonwealth of the Petra. I thank King of Petra Therin I for commisioning this map that should represent the entire realm accurately as of S.A 219. Thank you to everyone who took the time to help me out by pointing out locations, giving directions and doing anything that helped my efforts and I'm grateful to say that list of people is very long! However, without further ado, I humbly present you the map of Commonwealth of the Petra with all of her cantons and vassals! I've also prepared a plethora of different variations with different datasets for those who find this map too "visually noisy" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vassals, without cantonal borders De facto map Cantonal map Vassal coat of arms Vassal borders Terrain No labels P.S Now that I'm done with this commission I am open to new ones so if you're in need of a map please send me a letter (IGN: Memenade).
  19. Seeking an Assistant Greetings to anyone coming across this missive, My name is Livius Flavius and I am an cartographer from Norland. I've begun somewhat of a business of creating maps to whoever orders them. In order to make the work easier for myself and to satisfy customers quicker I am now looking for an assistant to help with my efforts. Your tasks Help me find out names of locations and landmarks. Factcheck information. I want to adhere to the highest standards of quality, however I often have to rely on very old information which may have become outdated, so I need someone to help re-checkings my findings to make sure they're correct. Qualifications Ability to track down your surroundings (OOC: You need a map mod) Ability to handle yourself. You'll be traveling a lot so you WILL run into bandits and other villains. How you choose to survive these encounters makes no difference to me, just make sure that you do! Social skills. Arguably the most important feat as you will need to talk to people to find out whatever information the map requires. Seen as an advantage Seen as an advantage Horse, or some other form of transportation. You need to travel and horse simply makes the job that much quicker. Social connections. If you already have people you can talk to around Aevos it will make the information-gathering much easier. Compensation I work by commissions so you will receive a percentage of those. We will negotiate a fair deal when we talk more and decide what your responsibilities will look like. I would also be happy to tutor you in the art of cartography if that is something you would enjoy. If this job interests you please send me a letter (IGN: Memenade) Signed, Livius Flavius, cartographer
  20. Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska as of SA 217/ ES 566 I am Livius Flavius, a cartographer from Norland. For the past almost three saint's weeks I have been in the employment of Mara Vanir from Hansae, who tasked me to draw an accurate map of Haense as it as of SA 217 exists. The task proved more difficult than I had anticipated, but I graciously thank everyone, commoner or noble, who gave me the time from their busy days and helped me with directions and all kinds of information! However, without further ado, I humbly present to you my map of the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska and all her vassals. If you feel like certain terrain features, vassal borders, labels or literally anything is currently misrepresented, please send a letter to me (IGN: Memenade). I am COMMITTED to the highest standards of quality so if I have done a mistake I would appreciate the help to rectify such shortcomings. For those that are interested, or prefer them, here are a few alternative versions of the map that you may feel are less visually "noisy". P.S Now that I'm done with this commission I am open to new ones so if you're in need of a map please send me a letter (IGN: Memenade). I'm also looking to hire an assistant so if that's something you're interested in also send me a letter.
  21. Hello, my name is Livius and since arriving to Aevos I've spent much of my time in Norland. However, since I've traveled around to learn as much of the land as an aspiring scholar can and should I realized I had an opportunity to not only quench my own thirst for knowledge but help out other potential travelers as well. So, I present to you my map of the Kindgom of Norland, with all of her vassals! Thank you to everyone who selflessly gave me the time from their day to supply me with the proper names of different marked places on the map. All of the map represented here I was told to be part of the Kingdom while the checkered lines represent the areas of the various dependencies of Norland. I apologize for any potential mistakes, especially with the case of Principality of Wessrik as I could not reach anyone from there. (OOC: You may have to open the image to a new tab or download it to see it in the best quality) The creation of this map made me realize the unfortunate lack of contemporary maps, not only in Norland but almost everywhere I've visited in Aevos. While I dream of one day reaching a leading position in some academy, library or museum, perhaps right now the best way of contributing to the knowledge of these lands is by creating and updating maps. So, if anyone reading this has or knows somebody who has a need for quality maps, please send a letter to Livius Flavius (IGN: Memenade) and I shall come and see if I can help you. For those that prefer it, here is a version of the map without internal subdivisions: And for those wanting a cleaner look a version without any labels at all: OOC: Sorry, this is my first proper forum post so idk the etiquette if there is one
  22. Hearing about the wolves from El, Livius made the decision to join on the hunt. He would help the group out for El had been so kind to him in the past, though he did not have much faith in the sword and crossbow he carried for he knew his proficiency with them was more akin to a child than warrior. He would be there, even if nervous out of his mind. IGN: Memenade Discord: memenadeyt

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” "Expecting me?" He responds back with a gentle smile, though with a hint of surprise and hesitation in his voice he wasn't able to hide. The creepy, almost run-down atmosphere had already put him on edge. He was far away from the cozy lecture halls of the Helsing University of History. For a moment he was unsure how to proceed, unable to move or say anything else. He tried to act confident, but in reality he couldn't hold his own in a conflict and this town didn't seem to offer anything but opportunities for that. He was glad he was wearing only his plain, traveling cloak, instead of his fancy evening wear. Not only so that they didn't get dirty, he figured it also lessened the chances of getting mugged by some drunk or thief. "Typically it is me expecting someone at places like this" He finally continued and took a step in the woman's direction. He tried to sound like he wasn't worried at all, but he felt like the strange woman could sense that wasn't the case. He wasn't lying though, it was his job to meet people in their places of residence to learn whatever local history people knew of. Too bad it was usually some jumble of nonsensical local myths and legends each contradicting the last. This woman was creepy and seemed poor, yet he got the feeling that she may actually know a thing or two, definitely more than her dingy tent let on, which instilled a bit of confidence and excitment into him. After slowly making his way to her he pulled out one of the chairs and sat down. He could finally see her clearly and the old wrinkly face with the eyes piercing into his soul made him wince briefly. "I'll go see the real history with my own eyes, instead of reading theories from some book!" He had declared to the stuck-up professors set in their ways, not even entertaning the ideas he had. Though he was still annoyed at his older colleagues he now wondered if the "real history" was worth the dangers he had to go through to see it. It hadn't been like his adventure novels at all! After he recovered from staring at the old woman for an uncomfortable amount of time he explained to her "There isn't much to my story and I don't seek to change that." He shook his head and looked around as if he was interested what the run-down walls and leaky shingles of the nearby buildings had to offer so he didn't have to look at her face. "But, if you wish to know, I'm an adventurer in seek of knowledge not glory from a place you've not heard from." He continued, though he got the feeling she may have known the place he called home. He braved a glance of the curious eyes of his creepy companion. As weird as it was that she appeared to know him there was something in her that intrigued him. He had come here to learn the history of this land and here was someone that could potentially help with that. For the meantime he couldn't return home from Aevos, so he couldn't back down from his quest even if he wanted to. So he gathered all his confidence to lean forward in his chair and asked her: "More interesting question is, what's your story?"
