  1. Dulku hears the news, chuckling to himself. "Demanding gifts eh?... Leave it tu' a uman'. Severe punishment? Och!"
  2. Oh, alright. What I am trying to say is that we are nothing special and we have not been around too long. We might have once been sons but we just left and took up another name as the little family lived up in the mountain. Something like that, I'm still developing the lore.
  3. For the record, the Edgehands are not sons of Urguan. This was something I thought I should post because a few people accuse me of trying to turn them into them, but they are in fact not.
  4. Alright, I donated Diamond! Now we wait to get me' benefits!
  5. (( Well, once again. We're not a special clan and we're not very big. I even stated in the lore that we were never a /true/ clan until now. We were simply a family who lived up on a hill. I'm not special and neither is the clan, YET. ;) )) EDIT: ((You might be thinking that Rorun, the original guy who had the family on the hill is me. It's not, it's just a dwarf with a small family with a nickname amongst his friends. My character is only about 200 years old, not nearly as old as you or most dwarves.))
  6. ((It was a group of a couple of families, not a big town. It's not something you could easily find and they never showed themselves. In other words, a bunch of hidden hermits. If I really need to change something so minuscule, I will. Sorry about that.)) "Eh?.. I'd say I'm alreadeh' quite teh' friends wit' most uv' teh' Ironguts."
  7. [More lore to be added as we develop.] Unlike most dwarves, how the Edgehands came to be is nothing grand. They are not heros and they have not been around the public for too long. The clan originates back in the early days of Aegis, when King Urguan still reigned. A group of Dwarven families lived in the peaks of the mountains surrounding the original kingdom of Kal'Urguan, rarely did they come down. Among the group of dwarves was a man named Rorun. Rorun had a wife, two sons and a daughter. Not a special dwarf at all, every night Rorun would go to the tavern and meet with all the other men of the small settlement. As the men of this settlement rarely participated in battles, they would feed their need for violence on each other. That being said, every night there would be huge drunken brawls that every dwarf in the tavern took part in. Rorun had a special move he would use that came to be known as the Edgehand in the drunken minds of his friends. He would make his hand flat and chop swiftly at the upper gut of his opponent. This usually resulted in the opponent falling, hands on his stomach and vomiting. Soon enough, Rorun would be known as Rorun Edgehand by everyone on the mountain. Thus, the name Edgehand is born. It was not until the move to Asulon that the Edgehands decided to be more active in the public of the dwarves. They participated in the battles between the growing enemies of dwarves and orcs and they helped with whatever needed to be done around the capital. Soon, after a few generations of Edgehands, Dulku Edgehand would try and turn the small group of Edgehands into a true clan amongst the dwarves. Proud of his family, Dulku continues to build the Edgehands into a truly great clan. 8. Dulku hears the news of Ash's need for string. "I danae', but I may ave' some. Would ye' loike' teh' meet some where teh' du' teh' trade?"
  9. Dulku walks through Oren, not a usual visitor. He sees the poster looking for a foreman in Salvus as he is leaving Arethor. "Aye. Uman's minin'? Righ'."
  10. I really like this idea. Like someone else said, it does remind me of Mrs.Weasley. It would indeed expand certain character's abilities. However, like to everything, there is a downside that I could see. I feel like if something like this is implemented, quite a few more people will be able to use magic and eventually everyone will. Plus, people could bend their applications and in the end just become a normal mage. I mean, maybe this is worst case scenario, but that's the only downside I could see.

  15. Out of Character MC Name: GavLan Timezone: Central Standard Time (GMT -6) Skill Levels: 50 Farming, 50 Cooking [i plan on getting 100 Farming, 100 Cooking, and 75 Fishing once I have a place to train.] Link to a VA? If applicable: N/E In Character Name: Gnorl Simple but Sweet Biography: I was born where pretty much every orc is born; The War Uzg, Krugmar - whatever you want to call it. As a child I was always made fun of. I have always been small which made me an easy target for all of those bigger than me. Not to mention, I have some things I like to do which are indeed not acceptable to orcs. I enjoy reading, writing, studying plants, gardening, cooking - and I'm a vegetarian. Not to mention, I never felt any sort of attraction to a female, nor a male for that matter. They started calling me this foul word: "Whitewash". I knew what was coming and I had to leave to save my own life. Although I am worried about some orcs getting their hands on me, I try to stay as positive as possible. Skills or Traits you have Affinity towards: I really enjoy farming, as I really like plants. I think they are all beautiful in their own ways. I also cook, even though I don't eat what I cook for others as it usually involves meat. However, I do experiment with different vegetarian dishes. I also like to fish in my spare time, I do eat the fish sometimes. Past jobs and/or experiences: I'm rather young and just leaving the Orcish lands, this would be my first. Reason for seeking a position as a Vallark Bannerman: I actually would not want to be a bannerman, I don't fight and don't wish to. I would rather help out with cooking and farming if possible. Oh, and in my spare time fish in any local areas. Have you sword The Vallark Service Oath? (Copy/Paste it Here): I, Gnorl, pledge myself to an oath of service to House Vallark. I swear to carry out with any orders or instruction given to me by any superiors and to follow them without question or comment. I shall do to the best of the ability of my mind and body to further House Vallark and I announce them as my lieges whom which I faithfully serve. I will never go against House Vallark by committing acts of treason or by acting in such a way that either betrays the trust bestowed upon me by my lieges or helps to weaken the household. I must receive permission from a blood member of House Vallark in order to resign from my position. If I choose to disregard this pledge of service, so help me God.
  16. Outside of the walls of Arethor, a group gathers around a man as he calls for attention. He takes a flamboyant bow as he introduces himself as the greatest jester alive. Anyone looking at the man dressed in near rags would think him a fool. A hood, stained with dirt covers his face; A face half showing for a tragedy mask covers half of it, the tragedy mask broken in a jagged edge. As eyes wander down his body, a belt with bracers is all he has for a "shirt", his chest and stomach are exposed. Rag pants with rather torn leather boots is all that remains to see. But the man's personality is rather strange, indeed something to watch. As he takes a rather flamboyant bow, his tale begins. "In a land only to exist if you allow it, lays rolling hills of cows grazing. In the back, a flag raised high before a castle so intricate it is hard to make out to a mortal eye. However, something easily made out is the flag that stretches out from the castle, a flag that flows in the wind. The flag is the flag of The Kingdom of Cowedor!" At this point the crowd is grumbling, eyes diverting to the limp cow suit sitting next to the man with a rather flimsy-thin metal crown sitting on top as if on display. Doubt amongst the crowd is eminent. "For those who allowed this Kingdom to exist, a time of entertainment followed. Never could an actor as myself feel so powerful, being granted a royal hall and all. I truly was a King with followers!" The tinge of heresy was enough to set the crowd on edge, all mumbling of their true King, Godfrey. "Don't you people see? In a land of so much, there is still room for a grander fantasy. You have nothing to prove, yet so many tried. I cannot even describe to you the amount of death threats rendered to me and my people. Why can't you let it live? A jest, is a jest. Laugh at it and move along. You have nothing to prove to anyone. I can tell you of my great friend, Bukoski the Dwarf. He was Asulon's strongest dwarf!" The claim that this dwarf was the strongest was already enough for the crowd to go wild. Dwarves in the front were shouting out their strength, saying they were much stronger than a petty fool, a circus performer at that. "And there it is! Do you dwarves truly think you have something to prove to a dwarf that wore pink and blue? Do you truly have to threaten the life of a jester claiming to be the King of a Kingdom that only exists if you allow it to on the charge of treason? You really don't, it is all a jest. It seems everyone in Asulon takes their life far too seriously. I charge you to sit back and watch my jests, for as long as I live they will not stop." Although those words did mean something to a few people in the crowd, others will still try to prove themselves to anyone, including a couple of petty jesters. And there will still be those who scowl at men in cow suits, mooing at the top of their lungs. Those men jumping from roof to roof. However, these men are making fools of nobody but themselves.

Actually, the numbers do not work for me, only the letters do. That's why I was very confused on my first day of trying to join LoTC, however, the letters seems to not be working for me at the moment, and I think the numbers wouldn't either.

  19. Could you post an example? I don't quite get what you mean. - I already have the land, I just need to talk to you in character.
  20. Thanks for the interest. I've already started on skins; I will take yours into consideration.
  21. Yea, and the Emerald Knights. I just found all of this out. - The Teutonic Order and the Templar existed at the same time in history, however. I dunno.
  22. The order is a religious and Monastic one; as stated in the title. It serves the King with absolute loyalty believing in his divine right to rule. Many members take on vows of poverty, chastity, piety, and obedience in order to devote their lives to God and the Order; never forgetting to serve his majesty, the King. On top of that, lowborn members also serve the Grand Master’s house as banner-men. The order is not purely battle-driven. It is also very diplomatic which is shown in their symbol. The white cross is a symbol for knowledge before violence. Trading and establishing the order’s power is also of the higher officer’s concerns. The Clergy of the Holy Oren Empire also have quite the influence on the order’s doings. The 10 Laws of Behavior 1) You shall believe in none other than God and his favored son Horen and pray with a fellow member of the order three times daily. 2) You will defend God’s Holy name under the command of the King and Archbishop, defending the whole empire’s people. 3) Respect and Defend everyone including the weak, sick, and needy. 4) You will remain loyal to your Empire, never betraying it but loving it. 5) You will never run from battle with those under the influence of evil or any other enemies of our God or King. 6) Without question you will oppose Evil and Deceit. 7) Anything you do outside of the order must not be contrary to the laws laid out by the King or God. 8) You shall never lie and remain faithful to any promises or vows made. 9) You shall always be generous even in your vows of poverty through alms and service. 10) You will become a champion of right, good, love, and tolerance against the unjust, hateful, and bigotry in an attempt to convert them to the true faith of Oren. Children of The Order Like any other order, only abled men are welcomed as warriors. However, training to become a holy warrior for the order can begin as young as age five as a Monastic Page. Beginning as a Page, children will be taught the early elements of their religion. They begin with spiritual exercise under the guidance of a chaplain elder. Children are also taught good morals and life lessons through stories and experience. As their time as a page, the Knights of the order will begin to scout for their squire. Monastic Knights are only allowed one squire and squires only one knight. At the age of 14, the Pages will be chosen a knight and become Harrionic Squires. Upon becoming a Squire, physical training will commence. Relationships with their knight should have already been created when they were still Pages, however in some cases squires begin their training by bonding with their knight. The study of religion becomes deeper for the squires still with the help of Chaplain Brothers alongside their knight. Life lessons continue to be taught until age twenty-one when squires are evaluated to see if they are ready to continue their time in the order. If they seem ready, they will move on to the next step. Ranking System Confanonier: The lowest rank; confanoniers are essentially banner-men for the Monastic Order. Upon becoming a Confanonier, you are also pledged as a bannerman for the house of the Grandmaster. Confanoniers carry three standards of the order into battle wherever they serve. The two standards they carry are: The flag of the Holy Oren Empire, House Elendil’s Sigil (Or whatever house the Grandmaster is from), and the symbol of Horren. Under-Marshal: As the title states, the Under-Marshal is the rank leading up to becoming a Marshal. This rank is given to anyone who shows military prowess but needs a bit more training before becoming a marshal. They also have an even larger role. Usually on the front-lines, these men also carry the fourth standard of the order, the Monastic Symbol, in order to keep the men together in a group. Marshal: Marshals are skilled fighters who have proven themselves to the upper-ranks. The Marshals meet with the upper-ranks to discuss strategy, however they do not have a very big say. They are in charge of all Under-Marshals and help train them to the extent of a Marshal. This is the highest rank anyone can achieve who has not been a Squire within the order. Sergeant Brothers/ Sergeant: Lowborn squires will become Sergeants directly after completing their training. Sergeants will never move on from this rank therefore they are commonly referred to as the Sergeant Brothers. They still serve as an officer and are sometimes treated as equal to a Monastic Knight. Monastic Knight: Upon completing training as a squire, highborn squires will become a Knight. Knights serve as officers on the field. This rank is commonly equivalent to a Sergeant other than perks for being nobility in the Holy Oren Empire. Knight-Turcopolier: Quite close to the top, Knight who prove themselves to have prowess on the battlefield and in the spiritual side of things may become a Turcopolier. Turcopoliers have rank and authority above normal Knights but serve the same purpose. Knight-Seneschal: A high-ranking officer, Seneschals are usually given a group of three other Knights to command. He is in charge of moving and administering these knights. If ever the time comes that the order may start Parishes, they would be given a parish to govern. Master: Often called the right-hand man of the Grand Master, the Master handles affairs that are too medial or not of direct concern to the Grand Master. Although of power, the Master’s word never undermines the Grand Master’s word. The master is also the mayor of the central parish – if ever established outside of the fort. There can only be one master. Grand Master: The Grand-Master is the leader of the Templar above all else but his majesty, the King (Emperor). Once becoming the Grand-Master a man is in for life. There is no way out of the position except death or dismissal from the King himself. Upon death, the Master becomes Grand-Master and he chooses the new Master. If the King is not content with the master or Grand-Master, he is able to install a new Grand-Master who will choose his Master. The Chaplain Brothers Men who are not quite warriors but still have the commitment to God are welcomes as Chaplain Brothers to the order. Despite their lack of use in battle, they are still one of the most important positions in the order. They serve as priests and handle all spiritual affairs in the order. Men struggling spiritually may speak to them and the Chaplains are there to help. Chaplains are the ones who charge vows upon members, which can only be lifted by them. Often very educated, Chaplains can be used as diplomats for the order. Appearance and Uniforms The White Shawl: The white shawl is a sort of ribbon for a member of the order to wear upon taking a vow of Chastity. This vow entails no physical contact with women, including those of their own family. The white color is meant to represent purity. The man is never to take the shawl off as a reminder of their vow to the order and to God. The scarf has gold trim on it until a vow of poverty is taken. Upon taking a vow of poverty, all private property must be given to someone else. This property can be donated to the order or given back to the King. A purely white shawl is highly respectable amongst the order showing a man’s dedication to God.
