<3 In terms of perception and accomplishment of their reigns from an IC perspective (because as other people mentioned, various rulers faced crises that hindered their capabilities making it hard to determine this OOCly), I'd say Godfrey for best and William for worst.

"It seems once again an Oren King is slain-in-council. Regardless of Vydra's words, murder by the hearth is a wicked act only a godless lot would commit. Have they no honor? They could have debated or even declared formal war to Vydra's will but instead result to such treachery. I had once deep respect for the elves of the silver city but their actions are a blight upon diplomatic tradition and all things civilized." reports the High Pontiff to a band of wandering begging brothers uninformed of the news.

Sorry guys, but I'll have to deny you for now due to avoid overpopulating the FRP However, House Arryn has recently opened up if anyone is interested in playing it! House Teague may also open up so if you apply for that you will be waitlisted in case the current player drops out. -

IN THE IRON ISLES IN THE RIVERLANDS IN THE VALE OF ARRYN IN THE NORTH IN THE STORMLANDS IN DORNE TRADE MECHANICS (UNIVERSAL) ESPIONAGE (UNIVERSAL) SHIPBUILDERS GUILD (UNIVERSAL) THE LEDGER Starks @ 4000 gold, 21k manpower, 10 warships, 10 transports Boltons @ 2900 gold, 13k manpower Teagues @ 4725 gold, 24k manpower Freys @ 3750 gold (holding off on your constructions because you need trade pacts to do that), 8k manpower Arryns @ 3800 gold, 600 gold in debt, 24k manpower (-4k due to 3k heavy inf/2k light inft, finished this turn) Mountain Clans @ 0 gold, 15,000 wildlings. Lannisters @ 8360 gold, 33.5k manpower (-2.5k due to troops, finished this turn) Drumm @ 2850 gold, 14k manpower, 25 longships Greyjoy @ 2700 gold, 13k manpower, 25 longships Yronwood @ 4500 gold, 24k manpower Martell @ 5610 gold, 18k manpower Durrandon @ 3500 gold, 20k manpower Dondarrion @ 1775 gold, 7.5k manpower (-.5k due to troops which are finished this turn) Gardener @ 5350 gold (-2000 due to Ironborn blockade), 36k manpower (-2k due to troops which are finished this turn) OOC: Sorry for the huge delay, but as you all are aware I was having massive technical issues. If you didn't notice, I didn't account for maintenance costs, mainly because it was way too time-consuming to calculate them for the 30~60 minutes I want to spend every 2-3 days writing up these posts. Instead, this turn will have no maintenance costs (enjoy the free $$$), and for the next turn, I will base the cost off of manpower you have on the field (so if you have 20k manpower worth of units on the field, it would cost you 2000 gold per turn, the ratio is 1k manpower worth of units -> 100 gold. If those 20k manpower units are garrisoned, it will only cost you 200 gold, the ratio is 1k manpower garrisoned -> 10 gold. I'll play with these numbers a bit but that should be about right. PLEASE make sure to write at the end of your post an OOC Ledger of actions you took, expenses, manpower, and units on the field. Some people did this turn and it was a great help in compiling these big end-turn GM posts. It's a lot easier if each of us calculate our costs, 1 person doing set of costs, vs me doing all the costs, 1 person doing ~15 costs, which is one of the reason why today's GM post was rather barebones, due to me rushing the post out to get this back on track. Tick 2 is March 6th - March 8th!

THRONES OOC [Must Read if Playing] The dust of war has settled as Westeros tolerates an uneasy peace. In the North, the Boltons have managed to successfully lead a campaign against the Vale, claiming the Three Sisters and disgracing the Andal Arryns. While the Stark's relish this northern victory and triumph of the Old Gods over the New, they are cautious; the Boltons have risen greatly in power as of late, a rise in power which could undo the Stark's hegemony in the North. The Vale has been dishonored, its fleet destroyed, and its men discontent. A young King must restore their glory, but before doing so, the Mountain Clans, patronized and funded during the war to new heights, must be tamed. In the South, the Teague League, a political coalition against the Stormlands, had crushed House Durrandon ambitions to reign over the Trident. While the Stormswords blitzed throughout the Riverlands, even capturing the Teague capital of Maidenpool, the coalition rallied in Riverrun and soon halted the Durrandon invasion. Bogged down in the thicket of the Trident swamps, a clumsy defeat at Raventree Hall spelled doom for the Durrandon cause, who could not afford a single loss due to their low manpower against the overwhelming armies of the fertile Reach and Rivers. They were pushed back to Storm's End, the war ended horribly against their favor. King Helton Durrandon was forced to cede his treasured kingswood to the Teagues while the Reach preserved the balance of power in their favor. While both wars raged on the mainland, the Iron King Hywel Hoare saw fit to invade Bear Island in the North, and in the South, the Shield Islands and the Arbor. While the Starks had lee-way knowing that the Ironborn were nowhere near any of its valuable holdfasts, the King of the Reach's overextension in protecting the Riverlands has led his rear exposed. Oldtown is but a raid away from Ironborn conquest, the very center of the Seven faith and most wealthy province in the Kingdom of the Reach. Furthermore, the Ironborn's naval supremacy meant they could run the river Mander and take Highgarden itself! It was this threat which had forced King Gylbert to turn his armies away from the siege of Storm's End and reinforce his southern marches, ending the Teague League War on terms neither side enjoyed. But three days before Hywel's ships set sail to conquer the mainland, the youth died in a drunken finger dance. He left no eligible issue forcing the Ironborn to name a King in their Kingsmoot. Two candidates appear to dominate the moot, the Hilmar IV Drumm and Balon I Greyjoy. Congregated in Old Wyk, home of the Drumms, the Ironborn leaders are forced to abandon their conquest to elect a leader among them. The Lannisters have enjoyed its neutrality in the two great wars despite their close proximity, but the sudden ironborn invasion of Fair Isle was an utter shock to the Westermen. With the fleet at Lannisport burned asunder and the Rock exposed by its sea, many clamor to King Tommen I to remain idle no longer, for the Lannisters had grown lax in their peace. Yet no realm is as fragmented as Dorne, split between the stalwart Andal defenders of Yronwood and the foreign Rhoynish yolk of Martell. The Rhonyar Invasion had been a overwhelming success under Nymeria the warrior queen, but alas, she had died too soon, and it was left unfinished, with Western Dorne remaining in bitter resistance. Her successors could not push the Yronwoods to submit, and Dorne is thus split between Andal and Rhonyar, Yronwood and Martell. An armstice was reached between Prince Lurcano Martell and King Adolar Yronwood, but every man from Blackmont to the Stepping Stones know it is a fleeting one, both parties licking their wounds before at another once again. The Reach and the Storm King, their watchful neighbors, have poor history with the Yronwoods due to years of fighting over the Dornish marches, yet few Reachmen or Stormlords have trust with the alien Martells. One thing binds these houses and factions together despite the nigh-perpetual war in these bleeding years; a ruthless ambition to succeed and grow, to take advantage of both chaos and stability and spread their realm to dominate the continent. Will one succeed, uniting the scattered provinces, or will Westeroes remain torn asunder until the dragons dawn over its dreary sky...?

[Ooc] A Song Of Ice And Fire: The Bleeding Years
Cracker replied to Cracker's topic in Athera OOC Archive
After some discussions on skype I've come to the following arrangement... Coaster: Accepted for House Gardener Taylor: Accepted for House Hightower Aetokenazim: Accepted for House Frey ItsChon: Accepted for House Martell Olivier de Savoie: Accepted for House Yronwood Sneakyclownz1: Accepted for House Teague Sheumgal: Accepted for House Dondarrion I'm waiting on Hiebe's app for Greyjoy (Hoare in this timeline is all infants/children up to you if your into that Hiebe) but aside from that, all the major powers are accepted. I will bump this thread if anyone drops out, but in the mean time, if you want to be involved, you may talk to me and/or apply as a GM or minor faction. Hopefully by tomorrow the mechanics will be sorted and we will be ready to go. -
Enough!

[Ooc] A Song Of Ice And Fire: The Bleeding Years
Cracker replied to Cracker's topic in Athera OOC Archive
Denied; reread the Bio section and examine the ones of others; you need to describe your lord and his direct family as everyone else did. No need to post the whole format again though, just correct that error and you will be considered noted/waitlisted, though not yet accepted (as aforementioned this is not a first come first serve FRP) Noted and Accepted, you were a great help in the last FRP and wrote up an excellent application so I will give you priority. -

Denied; please reread the app format and reapply. I'm not asking for historical rulers of the Reach but rather the names of the character/family you will play as. Unfortunately, I have to give priority to craotor given his help in organizing this FRP so I will have him play Lannisters. Feel free to apply as a different house however. Noted and accepted. Noted and accepted, you did a great job in the last one and thus I'll give you priority. Noted and accepted, I can't imagine the Mountain Clans being highly contested and your app is good so I'll accept you, though I do want to revise your clan names because the Burned Men and Stormcrows probably did not exist ~700 yrs before the show. Noted and accepted; we've talked in Skype how this will work. Noted though not yet accepted. -
I've been watching this with every update and have yet to be disappointed. Cheers, Hadley, this is great stuff!

[Ooc] A Song Of Ice And Fire: The Bleeding Years
Cracker replied to Cracker's topic in Athera OOC Archive
The system isn't based entirely on claims; I just realized given the popularity of the series and RP, doing a first come first serve basis would be unfair since I posted this at 4 in the morning. That being said, you need to actually post an app, claims don't count (unless you are someone who participated in the last rendition of this and/or I know you are experienced in this type of FRP) So on that note, feel free to apply as Lannister or Hoare or Mountain Clans for that matter, but if craotor/yekim/komodo apply as those factions you will most likely get denied because I know them + they helped with either the past FRP or this one. Noted and accepted; aware in your ability in FRP and confident you'd do the part justice. Noted though not yet accepted. I could def use GM help so I'll get in touch with you about that though. NO Sorry , I saw you apply as Baratheon first and later edit your post, so technically Steven was first to apply as Durrendon + I am well aware of his activity and capabilities so I'm giving him the slot. Noted and Accepted. -
Long before Aegon's Conquest, the Westerosi petty kingdoms longed to establish a dynasty that would rule the continent. Yet without dragons to enforce unity, any hegemony was short-lived. But the folly and ambition of man knows no bounds and despite the current peace, Houses from Dorne to the Wall plot their next move, seeking to win the Game of Thrones once and for all... _____ This forum roleplay will take place roughly four-hundred years prior to Aegon's Conquest, with a modified history to allow for better gameplay and roleplay. It will be based on the mechanics of the last A Song of Ice and Fire with a dynamic economy and warfare system as demonstrated in the documents below. Economy: Click here Warfare: Click here As one can tell by reading these documents, they are designed for the old forum RP; however, once we gather enough OOC interest and players, I will modify them to fit this one. Throughout the campaign, game masters (currently just myself) may dictate events and special occurrences in order to change the pace of the game and insure things are kept lively. Game Masters will play NPC factions such as Night's Watch, bandit groups, mercenaries, or states in Essos at times. However, I want this to largely be a player-based strategy roleplay, and thus realpolitik is highly encouraged. Rules should be obvious; no OOC game-breaking alliances, no powergaming, no metagaming, Game Master word is final, blah blah blah. We all here should understand the customs of good RP so I shouldn't need to get into that. Considering we will all be in one skype chat we can work things out. There are eleven playable factions currently; the roleplay will begin once a majority of factions have been filled and the economy and war systems are formalized. One can play a custom faction -if- they provide ample justification why they should and describe how it would be more than a minor player or petty vassal. I may deny apps in lieu of people who I would think would do a better job / be more active also applying. The factions are as follows, ______ HOUSE STARK OF WINTERFELL - Claimed by Dirtyharry HOUSE BOLTON OF THE DREADFORT - Claimed by Komodo HOUSE TEAGUE OF MAIDENPOOL - Claimed by Sneakyclownz1 House Frey - Claimed by Aetosion HOUSE ARRYN OF THE EYRIE - Claimed by Ser Paul Jr. THE MOUNTAIN CLANS - Claimed by MrGreene HOUSE LANNISTER OF CASTERLY ROCK - Claimed by Craotor THE IRONBORN House Drumm - Claimed by Yekim HOUSE YRONWOOD OF YRONWOOD - Claimed by Olivier de Savoie HOUSE NYMEROS-MARTELL OF SUNSPEAR - Claimed by ChonGojDragonski HOUSE DURRANDON OF STORM'S CROSSING - Claimed by Stevie House Dondarrion - Claimed by Tommy Shmurda HOUSE GARDENER OF HIGHGARDEN - Claimed by Coaster House Hightower - Claimed by Taylor _____ Application Skype name: Do you wish to play a GM? If you play a GM you probably can't play a faction: Faction of choice: Why you picked said faction: Biography of faction. Describe your family in age and characteristics along with proving you read your faction's information section. Be realistic with family size, names (pick them based on historical members of your dynasty, ex. Mern for Gardener) age and personalities/capabilities: Can you be active? A post every 2-3 days at minimum is expected: Applications are not based on first-come first-serve, but rather quality and whether you may like it or not, my perception of your RP ability/activity. Sorry, but GoT is a popular series and doing first-come first-serve for a post made at 4 am would be unfair! Hope we can set up something fun here!
