  1. In the same way that Abraham had fostered a nation of now 13+ million peoples, we can argue that Horen had fostered the nation of humanity through maintaining this cultural rite. I did not coin the term gentile in the canonist rhetoric, but I believe when Heff uses it he refers to anyone who is not a Canonist. The word infidel could suit, but given the chosen nature of humanity in the Canonist rite, gentile is a less harsh form of the word that also makes sense.
  2. Horen I existed roughly 1500 years ago in roleplay; it is unfeasible for all of his progeny to be royal, given that they would number in the hundreds of thousands by this period, when considering for bastards and cadet branches that would accrue over time. A similiar case IRL would be how much of modern Europe has some ancestral link to Charlemagne due to the centuries of intermingling. Canonism believes that the Highlander and Heartlander peoples were chosen by the Creator to serve as prophets of the faith and champions of monotheism. They interpret their racial blessing, 'to wander the seven skies', to mean this. While they don't comprise of a direct recordable lineage as say Abraham and the Jews, they still serve as 'nations' that considering peoples outside of these nations as, in lack of a better word, gentiles.

  4. Heralds march about the City Streets on the order of the Imperial Prince. They offer a ballot box to all of Felsen's citizens! "HARK! The election to name the Mayor of Felsen is underway. On behalf of the well being of the city, we instruct you to vote! Fraudulent votes belonging to non-Felsen citizens will be dismissed in the tally. May the best man win!" The heralds also cart about copies of speeches as to inform the public of the candidates at hand, along with writs from their notable (royal, noble, or clergy) sponsors. 5. A band of heralds bellow an announcement to the peoples of Felsen. "HARK! By writ of the Imperial Archchancellor, the First Mayoral Election of Felsen shall be held in three saints days! All citizens of the Empire whom reside in the capital are eligible to run for office. The long-forgotten mayoral manor may be yours, should you win, along with keys to the city and the duties of its administration! Make ways to the Painted Gate to receive and fill out an application for a chance to stand for election. May the best man win!" ________ If one chooses to collect an application, it would read as follows. Name: Age: Qualifications: Any notable sponsors:

Do you have a Skype account? You may post it here, or choose to keep it private until you are asked for it. Note; Skype is required to communicate with the team and unless you have an account and the program it you will be incapable of joining the team: Yup, but I think most of you have it. Have you ever written any lore for LotC? We are looking for LKs who either know a lot, have a lot of ideas— or preferabl both. So lets see what you have done. If you want a part of the app to pay most attention to-- pick this one. Have you ever receive a Magical Blacklist, ban or other blacklist if so, please link it: Nope. Please include a link of anything you've wrote that you consider to be your best work, this does not have to be LotC related however it must be by your own hand: My work on the Human Canon is by far my most influential writing on the server. 8. In that case, I've got no quarrel with it. While details should be disputable in order to facilitate roleplay and the realism in lost histories, broad strokes to give context shouldn't be an issue.
  9. As much I am intrigued by the elven lore presented, I have to agree with Swgrclan in that accepting this as canon lore from pre-played history is cheap. As effective keeper of the Orenian bible, all of its stories and mythos are something that I would prefer not being confirmed or denied as with most player-writ ancient lore. Instead of having a LM confirm it and enforce it OOCly, the option of spreading your legend in RP to the point where it becomes virtual fact is more realistic, organic, and satisfying.
  10. There's no movement to remove horses from general play yet, after all, we've yet to see the ramifications of such an act. The issue is, the horses obtained then are unobtainable now. It would be near impossible to match the horses of old with most post-patch horses given their stats. Whether he got his horses from a poor source or not, unless you have access to these elite horses, which are not supposed to be as elite as they are, you can never create horses that come close to rivaling them. You can ask your own leaders; I've got no say in the warclaims to come as I don't moderate the warclaim terms or am a part of the WC chat. I only help planned out the trench warfare. It wasn't even my decision to remove horses from the trench warfare, I originally wanted to just balance them on a later date, but after seeing how unbalanced the pre-patch vs post-patch horses were, the admins as a whole went along with barring horses for the time. I'm perfectly fine PKing my characters to uphold my GM duties, too, it's not a matter of supporting one-side or the other. Once again, this is all optional, so if the lack of horses is so frustrating, you can always sit out. Testing out balances and PvP fixes on the PvP zone that has little to no RP consequence win or lose should not be an issue to you, you lose nothing of significance and the staff gains precious data on how to better balance its PvP systems.
  11. I don't think anyone on the Dwarven side uses a pre-patch horse. So I don't really believe that it is an issue. The real issue is that Oren doesn't have good breeders, atleast compared to the other factions involved. Isn't that a convenience. I love this server but what is the RP reason behind not being able to use a horse while riding through a warzone. There isn't any. I can only speak for Dunamis but we all have Ryno/Ioannis's horses, that are aengulic breeders. The issue seems to be that the nerf hit legendary to veteran breeders the hardest while doing little to nerf Aengulic+ horses. I'll cite a conversation with Spookyleann, a legendery breeder, for example [12/10/15, 8:54:33 PM] Cracker: you only breed horses that are 20 health? [12/10/15, 8:54:47 PM] SpookyLeann: Sometimes 50 but never seen anything higher [12/10/15, 8:54:56 PM] SpookyLeann: 50 is rare for me [12/10/15, 8:55:09 PM] Cracker: what is the average [12/10/15, 8:55:35 PM] SpookyLeann: 25 The issue is not that one side has more OP horses than the others; after all, the Orcs are fighting with Oren, and they have a Daemonic breeder in travista. The issue is moreso that breeding has such a high skill creep that it is imbalanced between the two tiers of Legendary and Aengulic. I understand it may seem frustrating, but all this is largely just for bragging rights, there's little to be lost here and the staff can learn a lot in improving PvP by experimenting with what is allowed and what isn't. As for RP reasons why, you can argue that the the countless trenches, uneven terrain, and terrible weather would mitigate a horses' combat ability. While that's not the ideal justification, there's countless precedent of where we balance the game over accommodating for every RP niche.
  12. After a day's worth of testing and discussion, the staff team has found a noticeable issue in regards to horses. As mentioned in many general feedback threads, the state of horses is imbalanced at the moment, given that post-patch horses are far inferior to pre-patch horses. While post-patch horses muster around 10-12 speed and 25 health from a legendary breeder, pre-patch horses can have 20 speed and over 150+ health from the same skill set, making it a very unfair advantage that cannot be replicated in the current nexus environment. Thus, we are going to prohibit horses from the warzone and see how that impacts the conflict. Anyone caught using a horse may face punishment.
  13. Good job, babes.

  14. The Prince of Alstion had no part in the victory at hand, electing to retreat to the command tents when the fighting turned to its thickest. All the while, he begins to conjure up ways to insert himself into the victory that was the Battle of White Mountain.
  15. Watyll was a good kid. It's painful to hear this; we spent a lot of time together in Church roleplay only a couple months ago and accomplished a lot. It may be good, Tau, to link this thread to his family, to show the impact he had on the server. I wish them the best.
