Teamspeak 3 Guide: For New Players
Introduction
On Lord of the Craft, Teamspeak is a communication program that many of our members use to communicate about various matters, mainly OOC (Out of Character). Teamspeak at times can look confusing and hard to operate, but in essence it really isn't. This guide will help you navigate Teamspeak if you're new to using it or have used alternative VOIP (Voice over IP) programs.
How to Download Teamspeak
This will show in-depth steps to install Teamspeak to your computer.
First, navigate to http://www.teamspeak.com
When you reach the website, you will be prompted with something like this:
Navigate towards the "Free Download" button.
From there you will reach a License Agreement, which is required to Download the Setup.
Simply hit "I Agree".
After hitting "Submit", you may be prompted with a survey.
If so, you may choose whether or not you will take it.
Once you have arrived at the splash screen, Teamspeak will automatically download for you.
From there, follow the instructions presented in the installation program and Teamspeak should be installed quite easily.
Connecting to the LoTC Teamspeak Server
Here's the slightly confusing part. When you connect to the Lord of the Craft Teamspeak Server, you will be prompted with a "Security Level" Interface. Ensure that you select the option to upgrade your security level, this process may take a few moments.
Select your appropriate nickname and connect to the LoTC TS IP Address,
ts.lordofthecraft.net
When you hit connect, you will be prompted with a Security Level Interface.
Hit start and your security level will be upgraded.
This will be a one time thing. This process was implemented to make it easier to weed out any potential ban evaders and ban unwanted individuals from Teamspeak.
