  1. What Urvil has just filled in on the piece of paper handed to him by Polgrath: Given name(RP name): Urvil True name(MC name): Tomahawk90 Authentic magic user?(accepted magic user?): Nay What form of magic ye use?: None, prou Do ye seek adventure, knowledge, and companionship?: aye Mageshield,Delver or other(if other detail)?: Mageshield, with a likin fur minin', smit'in, and travelling. For Mageshields only: Do ye swear solemnly to put your life upon the line to perserve that of your arcane brethren? Aye, on the 'onor still left in me. What combat skills have ye? Sword and axe, I 'ave fought my battles in my time, down in the caves of the long lost city of Kal'Bryst, in Kharik, in Kal'Dwain amongst other places.
  2. ((Absolutely great work. This enables me to understand the dwarves much better, and helped me fill in some blanks I had, some because I joined in Asulon and never saw Aegis, and some because I have been inactive for a long time now. I see you were discussing how to add 3.0 into this all, this is because the events aren't linear? I cant get my head around that. Still thanks for the awesome compiled history of the race.)) edit: Maybe you could add the fall of Kal'Bryst? I don't know where it should fit in, if it does. Link1 Link2 And it would be nice to see the numbering of years continuing, now it stops in year 10 in Asulon (what actually is one year in elven time?).
  3. Help, I cant find any place to ask for help in adding some features to a server.. I know there are people here who know if what I want is possible and how, but where to ask?

  4. As Farnast and the small group of Brothers around him advance through the forest, he is suddenly startled by a sense that he is being watched from within the forest. Just as Farnast thinks of stopping and focussing more clearly, the Order's camp is lit up by fireballs and the following screams and shouting make that Farnast dismisses his feeling as being just a trick of his mind. The small group continues quickly through the forest, and while the central group is trying to push towards the main tent where the Order's relics are believed to be stored, they are to advance from the sides and simply do as much damage as possible and disrupt attempts at organising an adequate defense. Moving from the forest and entering the orders camp, Farnast blasts a fireball into the nearest tent from his left hand, not even watching it fly to see if it hits. He has fought enough battles to know what he is and, more importantly, is not capable of. As he looks at the attack in the center, he can already see that they will not succeed in breaking through the hasty defences and reach the relics. One Brother seems to make it, but meets with an Orders mage and they begin to do battle. Suddenly, Farnast senses something to his right, and instinctively dives to the ground as some sharpened spikes of rock whistle over his head and rip the tent behind him apart. Looking up, Farnast concentrates and fires a blast of fire from his right hand towards the first movement he sees. While getting up, his assailant lifts up a staff and the flame from his hand splits and bends around the small figure, setting two more tents behind him alight. The staff is pointed at Farnast, and he hears more projectiles coming his way. Farnast concentrates deeply and moves his hands to his head before pointing only one finger towards the attacker. The projectiles, for which Farnast does not have any mental capabilities to spare to identify them, drop to the ground a few inches in from of him as the dwarf opposite of him stands motionless. A bit unsettled by his attackers race and the traits that usually come with it, Farnast does not take any more time then necessary and fires but a small flare of fire at the figure. He senses the dwarf gathering his toughts, and as the flaming missile pounds through the Dwarf his chest, even Farnast can see the surprised expression on his opponents face as his mind is invaded with a new order again. Heeding the call for retreat, Farnast turns around and makes for the shadows of the forest as quick as he can, disappearing into the shadows while the dwarf lay dying between the burning and torn tents. (sorry all, RL got a big hold on me, my dad is finally out of hospital again so I hope to be back for a while now ;))
  5. ((darn zarsies, thats... disturbingly good. I won't write right now, I am going to bed, had a rough day with my father suddenly in hospital. Nothing all to serious, but it still saps your energy. See ye all tomorrow))
  6. Looking around camp, Farnast notices it is nearly all set up. With the moon shining quite bright, he is hampered in his eye-sight, but he has never relied on his eyes much. In contrast with the lowly humans who were born without magical talents, his mind scans the area around him, and what he senses is enhanced by what he sees. He has always considered this more effective then the other way round and has never understood why there were such men who had to live without such power. He senses Lo on the far side of the camp, rounding up his task of helping out the new recruits. They would be the first to fall in the coming battle, and only few of them would remain to become battle-hardened killing machines. Still, that would not matter, as Farnast senses that this was were it all would end for the Order. While his neighbour is fiddling with some wooden chips from the ground, setting them on fire in apparent boredom, his mind notices a group of brothers moving out of camp in the direction of the enemy. It is none of his business, and as his neighbour gets up and walks towards a tent, his thoughts are brutaly interupted by a high-ranking officer. The orders are simple, but the tone leaves no doubt as to what will happen to those who do not immediatly obey, so Farnast makes his way to the eastern edge of the valley to meet up with the rest of the Brothers who have heard the order. Once they are all there, they receive the order to advance towards the enemy through the forest for a first test of arms. As they are advancing through the forest, Farnast catches a glimpse of a familiar Brother close-by him, but instead of focussing his thoughts on the Brother, he concentrates on moving through the forest as quickly as possible without betraying their position, as the first fireballs fly through the air and tents are set alight as the central group of mages commences with the first skirmish. ((opening a spot for dark mages to accompany me or the central group, for the druids to respond to us moving through their side of the forest and for another good mage to spot us yes or no))
  7. ((as far as I see it (which ofcourse does not determine things at all) Kirime at least is in the Order's camp, and in my mind the Order and Druids use staffs and the Circle typically does not, which would again possibly give you Kirime and perhaps Aerhos as well, though either can be druids or spies as well ofcourse, and I guess Circle mages could use staffs too. They would gain my distrust though!;) I am refraining from writing on, as I want to give those willing a chance to squeeze into the spot Zarsies so conveniently opened up. edit, that's a real shame blundermore, I was hoping for someone with experience to take on a leader role. You sure? I will be writing on.))
  8. Just before falling asleep, Farnast senses Lo walking by. Though not being friends, they have fought together for a long time now, and there aren't that many alive still who can claim to have fought with him. At least, not as alive as they once used to be. Even if he wanted to, Farnast wouldn't even be able to greet Lo vocally, as he has never seen the need to learn speech. Instead, he sends Lo a short mental greeting, as is common amongst the mages of the Circle of the Black Moon, before dosing of. His dreams might be considered nightmares to those on the other side of the valley of Nirjara, but to him, they are sweet memories. He dreams of the destruction of Kimo, where he has had a fair share in it's destruction, but was still awed to see the combined might of the leaders of the syndicates, each a master of their own art, who had come forth halfway the battle and made the dead bodies of enemies and allies alike arise and combine into fiery, metal-clad wyrms destruction. The utter terror on his enemies faces makes Farnast curl his twisted lips while he lay sleeping. He can only imagine what might happen if the rumors were true of an even more powerful mage being the supreme commander of even the syndicate leaders. Even though he usually discarded rumors as nothing more then being just that, even he cannot help wonder what the reasons were for the syndicates to put their differences aside a year ago and form the Circle of the Black Moon and go to war with the Order of the Light. It might even be true that the Order have traced the location of the legendary Relic of Time, and that the syndicates are forced to act together to destroy the order before they will posess the full knowledge of four of the seven Relics. Farnast smiles at his own thoughts, for they are simply ridiculous. All Relics are known, as every mage, Order and Circle alike, and especially Druids, can practice all the six arts of magic, and he has always seen the legend of the seventh Relic as a fairy-tale and can very well imagine the legend only being used as an excuse to go to war. Still, if it were true, the war was not only a delight but also much needed. The destruction of the Syndicate fortresses of Ira, Mammon and Farnast's home of Krodha in the past year by the powers of the three Relics known to be in the posession of the Order was already beyond comprehension, the cities razed by hurricanes, tornadoes, landslides, earthquakes, floods and tsunami's despite of the numerous flaming-hot metal defences and the numerous Order mages who had turned on their allies through mind-control and necromancy. After the fall of Kimo, even Urul fell through the combined might of the six most powerful Order mages. A thought raced through Farnast his mind, telling him that this was only possible because of the syndicate leaders having to recover from the battle at Kimo and that the coming battle will be easily won with the syndicate leaders fully recovered, and Farnast is wide awake and upright in his tent within a second. He always hates it when his commanding officers are tangling with his mind, and during the campaign, with the commanders so close-by, it has been worse then ever before. Unwilling to fall asleep again, he gets up and puts on his helmet, consisting of only a few snares of silver with an upright, marquise-cut amethyst in the middle of where his eyebrows would be, hoping it will make it a bit more difficult for the officers to read his mind. He takes his black, metal-woven cloak from a ring next to the exit and walks out of his tent, making sure not to look at the enemies campfires to the north, or the fires still raging from the last undecisive battle to the west, to spare his black-colored eyes ((Thanks! I hope I havent determined to much Lore by my last post, you inspired me with your Relics. Lo, good to have you as a team-mate ;) and I hope I have left enough gaps for blundermore to still rush in as a higher rank here, I just couldn't wait any longer))
  9. As the army emerges from the forest, mage Farnast concentrates his mind on adjusting his eyes to the light of the moon. He was much more comfortable in the darkness and silence of the forest. Opening his eyes, he notices that they have reached the northern boundary of the forest, and that they are now marching into a large, slightly hilly clearing. The shimering lights of campfires on the far side of the valley indicate that the enemy has already set up camp. There they must be, the staff-wielding fools who have stood in their way for years. In his mind, he knows that this is where they will make their stand and where they will all perish. Although the last battle had not been conclusive, Farnast had witnessed the fall and delightfull destruction of Kimo, one of the bigger cities of those soft-hearted idiots, and in his heart he is convinced it was only the first sign of the crumbling might of the ridicuously shining and colorful cities of the enemy. As much as he wants to do battle now the sun is still far away, the voice in his head belonging to his commander orders him to halt and set up camp. All around him tents spring up. As Farnast turns around to look for a suitable place to set up his own tent, he sees something moving on the eastern border of the clearing, but as he focusses to see what it is, a mage next to him sends a burst of flames from his hands to roasts a chicken. As Farnast has recovered his eye-sight, there is nothing left to see. Deciding it was probably only his tired mind, he turns round and with a movement of his hands a small tent appears around him and he lays his head to rest. (feel free to give feedback, this is my first attempt at creative writing ever)
  10. ((how was it? how much do you recommend NY?;)))
  11. I like your about me page, got me listening to it again ;)

  12. in my mind this is going completely wild in combination with the suggestions I have seen around for trade routes/limiting races in their gathering efficiency for specific goods to encourage international trade. I like it if anyone is willing to do so you could try to set up an event triggered by disease.. such as, the monks search the library for knowledge of a cure, and find a healing spring location/anything more imaginative, and an expedition is set up to find it. Either a completely new location in Asulon to go to when you are really ill, or a place where only the cure to the current plague is found and then it disappears again..
  13. Event Planners, MC Names: Tomahawk90 Event Type: Arena Fight, business opportunities and chance to meet and compete with other races and nations Event Date: - Factions/Nations effected by the event: All who care to join Event Location: On another server with a portal near the cloud temple, or in Asulon near the cloud temple. Summary: A repeating (if possible) tournament, set in a grand arena. The most important part is that the tournament aims to be a neutral zone, where every race and every nation can join and compete, even if they are at war. Depending on the amount of participants, a few forms of combat will be possible, and participants can always suggest more. the possibilities are as endless as the imagination of everyone willing to contribute. Next to the fights, some merchants are allowed to set up shop for the duration of the tournament on the tournament grounds for those who attend the event, selling food and weaponry. For every item, only one or two merchants are available, and every merchant may only sell one item. If the tournament is allowed to be held more then once, care will be taken to provide a plot for different shop-owners every tournament, and shop plots will be free of charge to give everyone a chance to be that shop owner, providing they have sufficient amounts of stockpiled goods. Minas will be acquired for the tournament by having an entrance fee for the contestants, which differs per tournament they wish to enter so players who do not have a lot of Minas can gain some Minas and renown too, while the fights in which a lot of Minas can be made and which are the most glorious ones to win require a larger sum to be allowed to participate. Contestants can join multiple different fights, so it can well be that one contestant wins multiple fights. The Minas that is acquired is usually completely put into the price money, a small piece of it may be used for providing the Minas that is needed for running the gambling den. Anyone can bet on the outcomes of fights in the gambling den. I am not familiar with how gambling works but it exsists in real life so there is ofcourse a way to make it work. If there is a profit from the gambling den, that Minas goes to the price money for the fights. Winners of fights are the only ones who may carry a title to let the world know they are the best fighter in that field and have their name engraved into the hall of fame. Concept Images/Screenshots Orzammar from Dragon Age Petranaki from Star Wars Other Information: Different fights: Think of the difference between gear being supplied or allowing participants to bring their own gear (1 chest of gear for the whole tournament fi), teambattles between different races, battles between nations/factions for teams or for individuals, last man standing (1vs1vs1vs1), battles for specific styles of fighting, a winner-takes-it-all battle in which all the price-money goes to the contestant that is the last one standing, a fight for those with low fighting skills without an entrance fee for the newest players, and many mixes with fights against monsters such as comparing how long teams/individuals can stand against a horde of zombies, or a last man standing with monsters running around as well, The lay-out of the Arena as I thought it up is as follows; a large ring of sand, with grandstands around it where the audience can witness the fight and cheer for their idols. Every 90degrees there is a gate through which contestants can enter the arena (so thats 4 gates). On these gates different buildings are situated, such as the gambling den, a balcony for the Arena grandmaster with some levers to control the gates, and skyboxes for former grand champions of the Arena, heads of state and those willing to pay for entrance. These boxes are the place to be for making new connections and finding business partners, but the goal is to also fill the grandstands with people who would otherwise not meet each other. Fences seperate the audience from the contestants. Underneath the Arena, every gate has an attached waiting room for the next contestant, attached to a larger room where contestants can store their belongings in chests and wait till it is their turn to enter the final waiting room. All 4 gates have their own rooms and seperate exits, so no deals can be made in for instance 1vs1vs1vs1 fights. The main gate (under the main skybox) is the one through which the winner will leave the arena, this one has another door which leads to a central room with one-way-passages to the 4 rooms with chests. If monsters are involved they will come from the gates as well, how to do this is something to discuss with GM's, but I have it working in my creative single-player world so it is definitly possible. In my mind, the shops are outside of the Arena, along the pathway towards the entrance, and are temporary shops much like market stalls. Right before the entrance to the arena the audience walks through the hall of fame. RP-reason for me to do this: My own pride and jealousy have caused misfortune to me before, and the Undead invasion of Aegis made that misfortune a lot worse, making sure I could never seek forgiveness from those I had also caused misfortune. For the fall of Aegis, I blaim the fact that the races and nations where to busy in fighting each other instead of this common foe, and this is my reason to look for a solution for this. The arena would in my mind satisfy the bloodthirsty among us, and provide a neutral ground for nations to solidify better relations. And if I can help prevent something like the undead invasion from happening again, it would feel to me as at least repending for my sins a bit. feedback would be greatly appreciated, and if it's accepted as being good enough to work it out more, it would be great if a GM could help me out with further questions. I work with worldpainter and MCedit, so I can do a lot by myself.
  14. Should we still get minas from voting? If yes, who should I contact how, to ask why my money is all gone and I'm not getting any from voting? thanks!

You no longer get minas from voting and about the minas wipe, don't worry, it wasn't just you: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/47009-claiming-minas-with-a-charter/

thank you good sir. The post says everyone else gets 500M, did that happen?

    3. Felix (Robsbawm)

      Felix (Robsbawm)

I'm not sure if it was everyone or just new players. Anyway, 500 minas is nothing, I lost that in my first 30min of play by dying several times in a row. Ah, good memories. If you have a few basic supplies, or if you can kill mobs, or if you have a job, you should do just fine.

  15. survived queensday (national holiday), just a headache,

  16. maybe the history could be updated on our travels of finding and founding a new homeland, and maybe some completion dates and names of architects or things like that?
  17. everyone in texas still in one piece? Read in the news it was pretty bad out there..

But hopefully nothing else has been too problematic.

  18. study counselor just told me I have to work very hard to make it.. finishing the statement by saying: "you'll have to live like a monk for the coming weeks". So this is to let anyone interested know I won't be around at all coming time, and that when I do come back and succeeded I expect to be a monk alright.

  19. Garukumus, I am sure you thought it up yourself but I did chuckle when you came up with that circle idea, I posted almost exactly the same thing a week or two ago, including a sketch. I havent bothered anymore to make a new drawing, I figured you'd indeed be better of starting simple, you can always add stuff. I just hope there is going to be some planning involved. Is that design somewhere around including the chances that are being made on the fly, or is this all happening outside of the forum (again)? And something that bugged me for a while and I have to say it; the major event that made us leave the old city was, as far as I saw, announced a few minutes before it happened.. So much for a great start on uniting the dwarves again. This could have been done with a nice RP event, put up a video on youtube of it, fun for everyone and you have a better RP reason then "ah there be a dragon run!". Unless I am missing something here. edit: ps: leland I like your clan system. I do not think they need to be banned completely but I think this is a good oppurtunity to get rid of the old ones and see which ones will spawn from the dwarven society by itself instead of forcing clans in and then trying to make them work.
  20. Yes, I approve and applaud the initiative Charles! I like almost everything you wrote down, and still I can see myself making a new sketch of my idea for a city with your ideas incorporated. I am trying to resist the urge, will see how it turns out ;) That said, I approve a lot on; - the new "one for all, all for one" mentality, tell me if I am reading this wrong but I read it as you wanting to abandon the clans, and I applaud that. - the simplified religion, although I do not know much of it, I do know I think it is becoming far to complicated for now. - having all homes be the same, simple and sober. - your outline and choice of what kind of dwarves we want to be. Actually I believe no nation, whatever the race be, can exist without a properly functioning economy and production behind it, except for those warmongers who rely on loot and pillage. High fashion architecture is indeed a product of wealth, created by a smooth economy, and I simply do not believe dwarves are a race which would choose to fight for loot to sustain themselves, seeing dwarves reproduce much slower then other races, we would not choose to fight if our honor or homes were not in danger. - the picture - your attempt to end the chaos, as I said I am still having the urge to make a sketch myself as well, so I am sorry if I find I do not have that virtue ;) On of my main issues.. your plan is locking the city away again, while my point of view is that more parts of the city should be opened to foreigners, and I believe that is the main point where we differ which would prompt me to redraw a sketch for my plan as well. I am thinking about it. All in all I am glad someone has taken the initiative to get things rolling. I heard a location had been chosen, when will we hear about that? ps: it's barricade :) ps2: Kilgrim, I have heard of a dwarf class system, its actually a very, very important part in the dwarven culture in the game dragon age. But I agree with you we should not want it ;)
  21. I would like that even more, but up until now I have only seen plans that involve pulling the city apart and create two "half-cities". But I am curious, what would be in the area accesible to other races apart from a trade area?
