  1. OOC. I am going to be on at the hall for interviews between 8.00pm and 10.00pm GMT tonight, if Callax can give me an approximation of when you will be on in GMT times I can look through my shedule with Jack and try and accomodate you on Saturday as thats one of my day's off... I do apologise if this is a little akward at the moment however with it being the school holidays, therapy sessions for my son step up and sneaking them in between work is quite difficult. *hugs* Sarah
  2. So today was horrific, had to take my son for blood tests and they took 60ml out of a three year old, autistic that cannot speak, and doesn't understand why they are hurting him. I swear if the Dr who had ordered these tests had been there, I would have hurt him...badly. I need a coffee.....my hands are still shaking!!

It was awful, but at least it is done now. Very proud of the little guy and very proud of Mummy too. Not happy about the Doctor, even the blood-nurses (phlebotomists?) were shocked at how much they needed to draw from the little dude.

    3. Dargene

      Dargene

      60Ml O.o i think mistakes where made

I myself (with unqualified untrained lack of knowledge) had read the sheets, and I think that the info was misleading and mentioned on some tess 2ml for infants and 5ml for adults and then contradicted itself and I think the nurse took all of it, eg 7ml for each test so it was all magnified. Seems unlikely for a qualified nurse, but then something wasnt done right somewhere. Box of plastic zoo animals put a smile on little dudes face :)

  3. OOC: Cailean Balish joined the ranks today and now proudly sports the robes of the Apprentice Healers, He has been added to the list so people now know he is practicing with my blessing!! If you come accross him at the Healer Hold have patience with him, he's just learning!!. However we are now gaining staff as soon as we have two more, I will be opening the doors and advertisements will go out... *hugs* Sarah
  4. The two birds fly from the dove cote, their wings beating fast and strong as they deliver this missive to the two appliacants who chose to write to the Hold. Nimshae smiled as she watched them soar above the water and dissappear. She bade them good journey, and awaitied their arrival with barely contained excitement!! O.O.C. Right I am going to be about now till 7.30pm GMT time and tommroow I will be about from 10.00pm till 1.30pm for this.... You guys are the first applicants, so we are slowly but surely making progress....*squees* *hugs* Sarah
  5. Thank you so much for the compliments they are much apprecaited, and also a great big thanks to those that have stopped by even before we have opened, I now have two more jornal entries to write up, including a most auspicious birth. The prachements are from a stock site, I have quite a lot of stock images that are purchased as I am primarily a photo-manipulation artist. The stains are from brushes that I made a long time ago for blood smears and drops, however they make really good way to age and antique parchement. Sorry I have not been about I know a couple of people have got worried, I was on Holiday, we have a Caravan and as it's been so hot we thought we would go away for the weekend with our son who is quite tiny. Go to the beach, run on the grass etc etc.... We mistakenly thought as the olympics were on we would find it quiet...boy was that a mistake. I have some writing to catch up on this week, I only have two volounteers so far Dargene and Callax but I will be writing to them both this week and inviting them to the Hold for an interview. Then I will be posting/sending birds to the main capitals, however not the Orcs as I just cannot see a way IC'ly that it would be possible. I am hoping that word will spread there via gossip and rumour. Then we will be opening, maybe with only 4 of us to start with, but it's a start!! *hugs* Sarah
  6. Katherine smiled widely as she listened to King Godfrey’s words, her eyes seeking Ser Gerrard who answered her smile with a warm one of his own. She felt the familiar blush creeping to her cheeks as she turned away from him, contemplating his proposal. Walking forward on quiet sure steps till she stood in-front of the King she rewarded him with a warm smile, he had been patient and kind with her, when she had been shy and awkward, he had given her a chance when she knew others wouldn’t, He wasn’t fooled by her curtness, He saw the shy and troubled woman within. She knew she owed a lot to this great man, and the family she had served. Suddenly she looked sad, Princess Anne she would surely miss her, but she felt instinctively that this, this was her path.... “Your Majesty, I will miss you, and your great family, none more than the Princess Anne herself, however I accept Ser Gerard's proposal and I thank you most dearly not only for your blessing, but for all you have done for me. In your service I have felt....truly blessed” Katherine delivered her speech with great heart and emotion, her eyes wet with tears unshed, as she lowered her head and curtsied low before her King...
  7. Lady Katherine cautiously entered the throne room, stepping carefully with her wide skirts slightly elevated. Her cheeks were slightly flushed from the exertion of rushing to the summons, but also slight trepidation as to what warranted her presence so abruptly. Spotting Ser Gerard as she entered the room, she smiled a quick greeting, reassured by his quick and easy smile. She found herself breathing a sigh of relief, she obviously hadn’t offended him too grievously the other evening in the palace gardens so hopefully this would not be a reprimand... Curtsying low before King Godfrey she lowered her eyes.... “Your Majesty?”
  8. I do apologise for cutting and running on the young lady whose baby I have just delivered. Sadlt Sundays are Star Trek RP nights and at 8.00pm I must don the mantle of Dr Nimshae Najade on the star ship U.S.S. Valkyrie. Hopefully we can continue this some other time. It was awesome!!!

Kyral am resting at the healers hold.

  9. Living the life huh? I can so see myself in your shoes when I have kids ... just hoping I can be just as creative! :)

  10. Honest it's extreme age, I am 37, being RPing is one way or other for over a decade. And nothing like being a stay at home Mommy to give you oddles of time to be creative *grins*

  11. You're going to have a hard time trying to convince people that you are ordinary with a gift like that! You are brilliant, and a great writer, a gift that many wish they had!

  12. ** The book is stained with blood and unspeakable fluids, the pages warn the edges ruffled. The writing is neat and fluid, slanted gracefully and written in blue faded ink ** Containing notes, and musings of a craft master, and musings of the patients I treat.... We have not yet opened, although we now have a ship that plots it’s course directly past the lush islands of Terremai Ama Island, and the location of our humble hold. Yet still people have managed to find us, to solicit us for healing and our craft. It makes me think that there very well may be a use for us in Asulon. I just hope that we can encourage people to come and study. True our craft is not as exciting as the cut and thrust of open warfare. There is very little glory in the pursuit of those that heal the body, and rest the mind. However there is a great deal of satisfaction in the aiding of others. So far we have had two patients come to us for aid. One a gentleman who was passing through, curiosity being rampant I assume. After letting him tour the Healer Hall he boarded the boat back to the Cloud Temple at first light, however an assassination attempt was made, and he suffered a puncture wound to his waist from an arrow. Hearing his cries for help, Landrail and myself helped his supine body to the healer hall. I attempted to assess how deep the wound was, and at first believed it to be a glancing blow. Before I could administer our analgesic preparation of white oak, I noticed that he was bleeding copiously from his mouth. Alas the only times I have seen this happen, or experienced this is due to an internal injury. It is worth noting that sometimes even though the body seems to lose little blood, that bodies can bleed inside and it’s impossible in our scant limits to determine the extent of the injuries. The wound was not gushing onerously, yet still blood seeped from his mouth at an alarming rate. We immediately helped him to the boat and set sail for the Cloud Temple. When holistic medicine fails, and it’s extent limits us, we must rely on prayers. That meant we needed help from the monks themselves. When we arrived we called for help and although the monks were enthusiastic. They were mere apprentices and did not have the way of healing with prayers. However they assisted us into the Temple proper, and the innate magic contained within the stones, seemed to put his life in stasis. He was not healed, but he did not worsen. The monks recognised that the arrow it’s self may have been afflicted with a poisonous or toxic compound. Could have been cantharides which are easily available in Asulon from arachnids which grow to a fearsome size here. Sadly our knowledge of these are limited and much research must still be done. I disinfected the wound using our fermented wheat preparation and slathered an antibiotic ointment made from the mould and spores that grow on bread, onto the lips of the wound. Although the monks assured me an elder was imminent and that danger of infection was slim. One of the functions of a healer is not just to heal, but also to increase a patients comfort. He was in a great deal of pain and discomfort, and although I am sceptical of the efficiency of an antibiotic compound versus a toxin. It was in my opinion worth a try. I also dosed him with white oak powder, however he had the constitution of an oxen. Although I gave him enough to fell a small bull, he still seemed to writhe and moan with pain. Psychosomatic reactions maybe?. When we took our leave of the temple he made a sizeable donation and warned us, I assumed it was to make sure we kept safe. Landaril though worries still, and see’s alarms and portents in his raving words.
  13. Thanks so much guys, I really apprecaite the comments and the appreciation. Working hard at the moment to get this up and open, so we can begin to officially heal people. Also lots of thanks to people who have turned up for impromptu healing, and have been quite a challenge. Especially with thinking in terms of what we would know of, and what ingredients are missing from the pharmacopeia. especially as although we wouldn't know the physiological causes of Asthma, apprently the ancient egyptians recognised it even all those years ago, and tried to help it with the inhalation of incense. Some of them also believed it was a pshycosomatic illness, or the cries of child that was been carried. Thank you for the challenges guys, and for expanding my knowledge, it's been awesome. *hugs* Sarah
  14. Thank you, I am always pleased to meet more friends! *hugs*

  15. Thank you, that is very VERY sweet of you. Made my day it really did, esepcially when this week has been extreamely difficult.
