  3. Feels good to write. A lot of the stuff I write about Ryllae will probably be him remembering the times with his dad. :)

  4. An arrow sped through the air, embedding itself into the trunk of a tree. "Not too bad." Ryllae muttered to himself, wiping the beads of sweat from his forehead. "May be time for a short break." His practice had been going for a couple of hours now. Practicing kept his skills up to par, and while it was hard work, it was something that he enjoyed. He made his way over to the tree, pulling the arrow from its trunk. He took a moment to at it, recalling the first time that he'd ever shot a bow. - "Ryllae, come here!" Seith called out to his son, wearing a grin on his face. He glanced at the bow he held in his hand, waiting for Ryllae to show up. There was another bow strapped to his back. "Coming!" The young wood elf called back, jogging up to his father. "What is it, dad?" "Here, take this." Seith said, holding out the bow out to his son. "But why?" Ryllae looked confused, taking the bow from his father. "I'm going to teach you how to shoot it." Seith responded as he took the bow from his back. "Oh..." Ryllae trailed off, not sure about this. He'd never had an interest in bows before, but his father looked so happy about teaching him that he couldn't say no. For the nest short while, Seith spent the time showing Ryllae how to properly hold his bow. Once the young wood elf had gotten the hang of that, he moved on to the actual shooting process. "Great! You're a natural, son!" Seith grinned brightly, pulling an arrow from the quiver that was laid on the ground beside him. "Now, onto shooting arrows. Watch carefully now." He brought the arrow up, placing it against the bow. Once he had it secure, he drew the string back, keeping hold of the feathers end of the arrow until he wanted to shoot it. Then he let the string go, watching the arrow soar through the air. Soon, it as embedded in a nearby tree trunk. By now, Ryllae's interest in Archery had been piqued. It was fascinating to watch his father shoot a bow and arrow. Maybe one day he could be just as good as his father was at it! "Now you try." Seith smiled, turning his attention back to his son. He grabbed another arrow from the quiver and held it out to Ryllae, waiting patiently for him to take it. "Okay..." The tone of Ryllae's voice conveyed the uncertainty that he was feeling. It took him a few seconds, but he finally took the arrow from his father's hand. He brought the arrow up, copying the movements that he'd observed his father doing. Making sure it was steady before drawing the string of the bow back. A nervous glance was sent Seith's way, but he just smiled encouragingly. Ryllae gulped softly, then he took a deep breathe, before finally letting go of the bow string. The arrow zipped through the air. However, it didn't make it to the tree trunk. It ended up a couple feet away, stuck in the dirt. This caused Ryllae to sigh and his shoulders to slump. But the slump didn't last long, because a moment later, there's a hand on his shoulder. He turned his head to see his father looking down at him, smiling. "You did good for your first time shooting a bow. With practice, I know you'll be one of the best archers around." Seith grinned. A smile tugged at Ryllae's lips and he nodded his head enthusiastically. He jogged towards his arrow, pulling it from the ground and heading back to his father. - "Such a long time ago..." Ryllae murmured to himself, smiling and docking his arrow again. "Back to practicing..." He would keep practicing, so he could be a great archer, just like his father had said he would be.
  5. What person's name will be used on the signature?: Ryllae What size would you like the file? The standard size I use is 500x150 pixels: The 500x150 is fine! What colors are going to be used? (write "none" for a normal black and white colorway): Black for the writing. Maybe a parchment type background? If that's possible, of course. With the roleplay aspect, it just seems like it would fit if it's possible! Other comments/requests: Nope, thank you very much!
  6. Seeing the two suggestions, Ryllae takes an ink pen and writes his agreement next to Ame'ker.
  7. One of the posters catches Ryllae's attention. He takes a moment, surveying the words on the poster. "This could be a good thing." He murmurs to himself, stroking his chin thoughtfully.
  8. Banned for bringing up the pie incident that everyone wanted to forget
  9. Banned for the over usage of sloths
  10. Writing more stuff for Ryllae! :)

  11. It is great to see the population grow. It'll be great to see it grow together! And welcome to the server! I hope you enjoy your time on here! Thank you very much. I'm enjoying it so far!
  12. Heya, thank you! :) I greatly appreciate that. It means a lot! Sure, I will be sure to do that. Thank you again. Really nice of you. :)
  13. Hello! I go by Criala, but you can call me any varition of that you please. Other nicknames that I go by include Mimi, Misa (because I use the name Misaki a lot too) or Edward (like from Full Metal Alchemist, because I'm pretty short). I used to be active on the server back in the summer of 2012, but since it would crash more often than not, I wasn't able to play that much and eventually just stopped going on. Not long after that, I started college, so I got really busy. Then a couple weeks ago, my friend asked me to start playing on the server with him again, so here I am again! It doesn't crash like it used to, but it does lag me quite a bit if there are 120+ people on, so I'm usually on when there's less people, like 60ish, on. Currently, I'm studying to be a criminal profiler, also known as offender profiling. It's what they do on Criminal Minds. If you haven't seen that, this is the defination of it! :) "Offender profiling, also known as criminal profiling, is a behavioral and investigative tool that is intended to help investigators to accurately predict and profile the characteristics of unknown criminal subjects or offenders." I've been roleplaying since I was fourteen, so roughly seven years now. I started out on Neopets, then I moved onto roleplaying with a few select people on email and MSN. Then I moved to roleplaying on Skype, which I still do everyday. And about a year ago, I made an RP blog on tumblr, that I am still active on everyday. Writing is a passion of mine, which goes hand in hand with roleplaying I would say. I hope to publish a book some day. I've been writing ever since I can remember. I'm a huge anime nerd. Naruto is my absolute favorite, but Death Note and Yu Yu Hakusho are close seconds.

  17. I think the current application is good. When I first applied back in June of 2012, it was a lot longer (with the open ended questions, but I personally had fun doing those), so it was more intimidating than the current one and more time consuming to fill out. For newer people and those with less patience, I think the current application works pretty well. It's not too hard, but it's not too easy either. More feedback on denials for applications would be good. Maybe having more members on the AT could help with that? I admit that I am not, nor have I ever been, part of the AT so I don't know how easy or hard this would be to do. I got lucky and didn't get denied either of the times I applied (in 2012 and just recently), but I have heard that the denials can be a little lacking in the reasoning for the denial or for ways to help improve the denied app. Posting on the Minecraft forums as well as on here. I think this could be removed. Some people can't be bothered to do both, so they don't. I would have, but not a lot of people would want to do that, because that is more effort than some people are willing to put forth. Just my thoughts on this. :)
  18. Playing Skyrim alot, so that's where I'll be!

  19. Currently, Ryllae was loading arrows into his quiver. A quiver that had been given to him by his father, as well as the bow that he used. His eyes fell on the bow for a moment, a wave of sorrow hitting him. That was the last time he had seen his father before he’d headed off to war. - The young Wood elf looked up when he heard his name being called by none other than his father, Seith. "What is it, dad?" He asked, turning to face his father. He had always taken after his father when it came to his looks. The light blonde hair, his facial features, his skin tone, his build. All from his father. About the only thing that came from his mother were his eyes and his ears. They were a tad pointier than his father’s. "Here." Seith spoke with a grin, holding out a slightly worn looking bow to his son. "This is for you. My best bow. Doesn’t look like much, but looks are always deceiving, aren’t they? It’s gotten me through a lot." "Really?" Ryllae asked with wide eyes. This was the bow that his father always used. "You’re giving it to me?" "I am." Seith’s eyes softened. Carefully, Ryllae took the bow from his father’s hands and was looking down at it. "It’s yours now." Seith reached up, ruffling his son’s hair. "Thanks, dad!" Ryllae let a wide grin come to his face, pulling the bow over his shoulder so he could properly give Seith a tight hug. "You’re welcome, son." Seith returned the hug, holding onto his son tightly. "I’m headed off tomorrow." "Do you have to go?" Ryllae asked, chewing on his bottom lip. He already knew the answer, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t hope that the answer would change. "Yes, sadly, I do. I’ll more than likely be gone before you get up tomorrow morning." Seith told him. "But, I’ll be back before you know it. I’ll always come back to you." "You promise?" Ryllae looked up at him hopefully. "I promise." Seith gave a nod of his head. "I love you, dad." Ryllae said softly. "I love you too, Ryllae." Seith smiled at him, pressing a soft kiss to his temple. And Seith had been right. When Ryllae woke up the next morning, Seith was already gone. All that was left was a note with a message from Seith. - Tears welled up in Ryllae’s eyes as he pulled a crumpled, obviously old piece of paper from his pants pocket. He unfolded it, reading over the words written on the page. If you’re reading this, then I’ve already headed off. I love you, Ryllae. I’ll see you soon, son. I promise. - Three months. Three long months that Ryllae had been waiting for his father’s return. The longer Seith was gone, the more he worried about him. His father always came back to him. Always. But he just couldn’t help worrying. He was tending to the bow Seith had given him when he noticed another one of the soldiers walking towards him. Another Wood elf that had gone off to war with his father. The elf’s name was Elessar. If Elessar was back, then that meant his father was back! Immediately, Ryllae set the bow down, carefully of course, and rushed over to Elessar. "Elessar!" He exclaimed excitely with a bright grin on his face. "Where’s my dad?" "Ryllae…" Elessar trailed off, glancing around nervously. It wasn’t hard to tell that something was wrong. The elf looked quite troubled. "Elessar…?" Ryllae’s bright grin slowly transformed into a frown. "What is it? Where’s my dad?" "Seith has…" Elessar paused for a moment, trying to gather himself before continuing. "H… Has fallen in battle…" Ryllae’s eyes widened. “N… No…!” Elessar nodded gravely, wringing his hands together. “He has been killed in battle. Shael… It turns out he was a double agent a.. and he killed him…” "No… No… No!" Tears blurred Ryllae’s vision and he fell his knees, sobbing into his hands. - His shoulders trembled as he fought off the tears that were threatening to pour from his eyes. "Yo… You promised you w-would c-come back, d-dad…" He whispered, not taking his eyes off of the small piece of paper in his hands. Finally the tears began to flow freely, streaming down his cheeks and dampening his pant leg. "You promised…" A sniffle came from him, his voice still only a whisper, and it was followed by more tears. "A… And you… You never came back…" His hand shook, but his grip on the paper never loosened. "I miss you so much, dad… I… I need you…"
  20. The lag seems to die down around 9pm PST my time, when there's a lot less people on, so after that time, it's more likely that I will be active.

History Ryllae was born in a small village near the city of Normandor. From the early years of his childhood, he was mostly on his own and had to learn to take care of himself at a very young age. His mother died due to illness when he was very young, and his father was killed by a trusted friend in battle, when Ryllae had barely reached his teenage years. Along with training new recruits for battle, his father also helped keep the village going financially by helping with the trading and selling goods with other villages in the land. Ryllae tried to take over the role his father had played in the village, and was able to somewhat do it for a while. But then the war of the humans had come and passed, where Hanseti joined Renatus, trading and selling with other villages wasn't good enough to keep the village going anymore. Knowing that something had to be done, Ryllae decided to pack up and leave his village in order to find new places for the village to trade with. While looking for a good place for trading for his village, he found himself at Malinor. Not long after arriving, he enlisted in the Sentinels and soon fell for a fellow guard. Both retired to work on their life together after they got married, but it did not work out as they drifted apart. After this, Ryllae returned to his village for some time. Once quite a bit of time had passed, he left his village to start traveling again. The trading in his village went up even to keep it going, but it still wasn't as good as he would like. Currently, he finds himself around Cerulin, working at the farm just south of there.
