Do you need to make a post to create a new char or can you just get a new skin and start playing as one?

Alt/new characters still need accepting, through an alt application, which can be found in the app section of the forum. 'nuff said.

Nope. Only if you are using a separate MC account do you need to make a new app. Otherwise just /modreq for a race and skill reset. You will lose all but 75 skill credits if you don't donate at least coal VIP.
