Hello there Lotc!!
Well I figured I may as well try my hand at a guide.
This one shall be covering MultiMC, a custom launcher which allows for multiple .minecrafts folders, each with separate mods, settings, icons, heck even mod packs! All within the confines of a simple little launcher, website can be found here http://forkk.net/MultiMC4/.
Installation/basics!
Instance Crafting!!
On top of the tool bar you should see this icon:
When clicked it will display a drop down menu like this, most of which I hope is self explanatory.
If you are simply importing an existing .Minecraft in, follow the necessary steps, if you on the other hand accidentally updated (Silly goose...), click "Add a new instance".
You will then be displayed something like this:
You can then name your instance by clicking on the instance name, and more importantly change your version with the "Change version" button, the list will initially look something like this:
From here you can scroll around a bit until you find the correct version, or get a little adventurous by pressing this button> %C2%A0] < which can launch you all the way back to Alpha 1.04.
You may be asking though, "Arzota, how do we edit the .minecraft's themselves?" Well I was getting to that, hold your horses. To do said modding right click on one of your new instance Icons and a menu as such shall be displayed:
Personally I prefer the rebuild jar option, but you could probably use the normal edit mods as well.
Okay so, basics covered, so far we know how to make, mod, and import instances as well as the more mundane aspects of MultiMC, if you wish continue below where I will get into the more nitty-grtty aspects of it.
