Ja'Lorei stares at the posters for a long while. Her attention was mainly on the parchment with the red print. She stood there, silent for a few minutes as she read over the poster once, twice and then once more to be sure. As she finishes, she takes a single step back from the board and looks around slowly, attempting to be nonchalant. She then, satisfied that no one had seen her, quickly walked away from the board. In this new land, she didn't quite understand what classified as a mage. The last thing she wanted was to be associated with a group of people wanted for decapitation. The Metztli's Blessing would have to remain secret for now. She had to be more careful.

Ja'Lorei takes the rolled letter from the bird's beak, humming a random song to herself. She looks up and watches the bird flutter off back into the sky and to whoever sent the letter. It is mid-day and the weather is warm and calming. She knew that soon she would have to get work done but in the meantime, she would try and enjoy the day. She went back to her tent, leaving the flap open so the heated air could freely flow inside and sat down to read the letter. She first checked to make sure the letter was for her before continuing on, deciding that she would read it before she showed it to the others. Her eyes scanning over reach word, she reached the end of the letter and stared at the name. She stared at it for a long while, her eyes flickering as she thought about what she had just read. Slowly, she rolled the letter back up and stood. She walked out of her tent and let the flap fall back down then opened the letter again to make sure she hadn't read wrong. She exhaled and stuck the letter onto their announcement board for the others to read when they got the chance. She then went and wrote her own letter then caught one of the aviary birds to send it. So'Zaka, This is Ja'Lorei, one of the priestess of the Kharajyr. She is pleased to see that kha is willing to accept some of his culture and would be happy to help him along the way. From what was written, the lessons and changes will be very hard but worth it, she thinks. Lorei believes it would be best if So'Zaka would meet with Lorei to discuss further. Warm regards, Ja'Lorei

Let's give it a shot, LotC! Don't let me down! ^^

Ja'Lorei was silent as she slowly places her paws on the counter of the tavern. Her eyes shook as she stared blankly at them before she let out a breath, a soft sound leaving her. She fell limp against the seat of her chair, her eyes flicking towards the ceiling as her priest hood falls from her head. Her arms shook. After a while, they slowly slid away from the counter and let her paws fall limp off the sides as they returned to her. The vision that had been seen. It was impossible yet Lorei could not deny its truth. The Sage, Natayshi, was the one who had seen it and a kharajyr with such experience behind her would not dare make such a grave mistake. She lifted her paw again and ran it through her hair. It shook, tangling and untangling the strands as she tried, in vain, to calm herself down. Her face twitched, and her shoulders shuddered. Her paw landed on the warm stone of the counter again and her claws dug into the hard surface. Her left paw rose to gently hold her face, the fingers spread so that she could see through them. The tavern's ceiling was growing darker. The sun was setting. Her jaw fell open and a laugh escaped her, jolting her frame. Then again, louder, she laughed. Falling forward, both of her paws gripped the counter, her claws scraping stone as she steadied herself as she giggled. She lifted her head, shook it slowly as her eyes began to burn and hot, heavy tears began to steak down her fur. What had all of this been for? Why had she dedicated her life to becoming a priest if she was not able to stop such a fate from happening? Her laughs stuttered as she gasped and shook, steadily morphing into sobs. She sat back down into her seat again, hugging her knees. Her hair fallen in front of her face, only her glowing eyes was visibly in the near complete darkness. The tears once filled with sorrow were now fat with anger and determination. It couldn't have been for nothing. She wiped her face quickly and stood, unsteady. She turned and began walking into the backrooms of the tavern, wishing clear her head. Instead, she laid on her bed and resigned herself to sleep. For hours she was awake, her now dry eyes alert and waiting. Anxious. Ready.

To clarify, we're playing with our ideas and trying to get everything clear and cut for when we can act upon our plans. The multiple posts are examples of us trying to get a better way of communicating our ideas with one another, though it may seem as though there are many threads about the same thing, most of these threads hold different meanings as they are made after conversations made in skype. So... I know it may seem a bit confusing and redundant but we're figuring it out. --------------------- My opinion I am interested in testing the smog idea. I'd like a trial period if we were to suddenly change our way of living and this seems like the perfect way to go about doing this.

OOC Information MC Name: Re_addled Have you read and fully understood Kharajyr lore?: I have and I fully understand. Have you read and fully understood the Kharajyr application rules?: I have and I fully understand. Do you understand and accept that the Kharajyr application team may revoke this application in the future if they deem it necessary?: I do understand and accept the power of the KAT. Do you agree to both follow and uphold Kharajyr lore throughout your time in the Kharajyr?: I agree. Tell us one unique fact about Kharajyr lore, culture or history that you know.(We will check for plagiarism!): The Kharajyr are terrible singers, however there are a few that can sing well. The sacred food of the Kharajyr is cake which is saved for special events such as ceremonies, parties or sacrifices. IC Information RP Name (This includes your character’s prefix): Kitten Killian Character Sub-race: Kha'Cheetrah. Character appearance (Including age and gender): Killian is a melanistic cheetrah, therefore his fur pattern is darker than what an expected cheetrah should have. He is the runt of his litter, being not only smaller but less coordinated than his littermates. He has dull green eyes and black spots all over his pelt. What is the personality of your character like?: Killian is a polite and careful Kharajyr. He is more analytical when it comes to stressful situations and is more likely to keep his calm when something is going wrong. He believes strongly in being tidy and making sure that situations that involve him are just and fair. He very much likes it when things are in his preferred order. Unpredictability is a trait that he tries to remove from himself. Biography (If you are applying as a kitten, please only state the name of your parents/siblings) Do'Tarkin and Sa'Jujan. Character’s ambitions within the Kharajyr: Killian was raised with a father in the Karakatuan Navy and has strived to become a strategist working with his father. He wants to be acknowledged as a necessary part of the unit that is their navy and make his future ship-mates and family proud. Character’s strengths/weaknesses: While he is strong mentally, he has little going for him in the strength department. Starting out as a runt with siblings, he was not able to truly catch up with how strong or how tall they were. After acknowledging that he would never be able to catch up with his siblings as a kitten, he began to focus more on strengthening his mind, a more reachable goal. While he might manage with ranged tactics, close combat will probably never be something he excels in. Please provide a screenshot or 3D render of your character’s skin: Situational Roleplay Questions 1. You are heading home from a successful hunting trip when a group of three heavily armoured humans jump out from behind a tree and start demanding the surrender of your catch over to them. Each man has a sword drawn and they are gradually pacing towards you... How does your character react? Killian freezes, his claws digging into the stag he managed to take down. He could feel annoyance rising within him as he heard the tell-tale rustle of brush nearby. Before he could even think of an escape route, the humans had revealed themselves, their eyes greedy for his kill. His tongue darted out, licking his canines as he looked over the three in front of him. He gave a forlorn look down at his kill, still hot and tense from the run it had from him. His stomach clenched, fighting a decision he had already made violently. He looked up at the humans, stiff. He picked up the corpse and threw it at the three, turning tail and bolting in the opposite direction on all fours. The only satisfaction he got was the satisfying surprised grunt they all gave when the body hit them. 2. You arrive at the temple of Metztli only to see one of your closest friends stealing the sacred blue gems from the altar, a most unholy act for a Kharajyr. How does your character react? Killian had been there for a while, watching his friend take the jewel. He had caught the kha red-handed but hadn't done anything to alert of his arrival. He simply stood at the entrance of the temple, watching silently as the jewel was nudged out of its place and into the paws of his friend, now criminal. It wasn't until the Kha had admired his prize for a while in his paws did he finally turn around and see he had been caught. His jaw dropped open, his arms falling to his sides in shock as his paws gripped the jewel in his hands. A series of expressions went through his face, then stopped suddenly as he looked to Killian, blank. Killian waited to see if he would lash out before approaching, looking back behind him to make sure no others were about to enter the temple. He held out his paw, waiting patiently until his friend took his hint and placed the jewel in his palm. He then walked to where the jewel had been taken and placed it back in its spot, dusting off the area to make it seem as thought it had never been removed. Killian walked back to the entrance of the temple, nudging his friend out of the temple with him in silence. He had stopped his friend in time. He hadn't stolen anything, he would say to the others if they found out. He would tell them something else, make up a lie of some kind. It was the least he could do for a friend. All friends deserved second chances. 3. You are in the Cloud Temple when a stout, angry little dwarf begins yelling highly racist terms towards you at the top of his lungs. Although unarmed, the dwarf continues to yell after he makes eye contact with you. How does your character react? The dwarf was turning an interesting color. He was yelling so hard, Killian thought his heart might give out. It was entertaining, though he had to admit, it was not the best thing to occupy his time. His ears were already beginning to ring even though they were flattened against his skull. The dwarf gasped and swallowed, allowing himself a brief break before shrieking something again at him. Yes, Killian thought, He had long overstayed. Killian brushed past the dwarf, pausing briefly at the end of the stairs as he got his bearings and then continued on his way. He could hear the dwarf sputter angrily, his sudden departure infuriating him beyond his limits of speech. He quickened his steps a bit, not wanting to have to deal with an even angrier dwarf. 4. Fire has broken out over the jungle city and you can hear the screaming of two Kha’ nearby. As you go investigate, you notice that one of your friends and the Tlatlanni’s white-furred child have gotten themselves trapped in opposite ends of a burning building. The roof creaks above you, if you were to get involved, you would only have time to save one before the building collapsed. How does your character react? The heat was unbearable. He could barely keep his eyes open and his head was beginning to ache. He felt a bit dizzy, the lack of air and surplus of smoke in his lungs disorienting him. He could hear the panicked screams and yells of Kharajyr around him. How many, he didn't know. He was walking aimlessly until he heard a familiar cry of relief. "Killian!" A voice cried, hoarse. "Oh, Kill! Ovawr heyawr!" Killian turned a bit to the left and saw his friend, the very same he had stopped from stealing a few months ago, trapped under fallen pieces of the ceiling. His paw was raised a bit, trying and failing to reach him. Killian ran toward his fallen friend, feverishly picking the pieces off of his body. His friend was silent, his chest heaving as his paw grabbed his shoulder and squeezed. He had his eyes closed, tears of fright and relief beginning to well past them. Above them, the house creaked ominously and Killian doubled his efforts, managing to get his friend uncovered and onto his feet. Using himself as leverage, Killian helped his friend limp out of the burning building. He kept walking until they could no longer feel the heat of the building and turned them around, watching the building shift, shake and collapse in on itself, burning all the while. Killian sighed, glad that he had saved his friend for the second time. Black smoke born from white fur drifted into the sky, unknown.

A hastily torn paper is posted on the log above the exit inside Metztli's Blessing. This flier is in bold print, with designs on the margins to perhaps entice Kharajyr passing by to read it. Upon further inspection, this flier doesn't give much information other than a reference to another flier supposedly on the counter of the restaurant. On the counter, there lies several fliers and a rock placed atop the stack to stop them from being blown into the wind. You pick up the rock, take a flier and place the rock back. Once again, it is written by Lorei. Sa'vi Kharajyr! Lorei has come to everyone with more news. Not too long ago, Lorei went out on a little excursion with a few willing Kharajyr to Malinor. Lorei is happy to announce that the trip went along smoothly with little interruptions or problems! That being said, Lorei wishes for this to happen again. Perhaps not Malinor the next time, another place possibly? To those Kharajyr who are skeptical and are afraid of venturing out of the familiar brush, be assured that your fellow Kharajyr are there to protect you. The outside is not as dangerous as one might assume and all healthy Kharajyr should travel a few times in their lives so that they can better appreciate the life they live with Metztli. Take this trip as a brief look into the lives of the vunaekhanc that live far from us. This gives us an opportunity to not only learn about them but about ourselves, yes? Those who come along are free to buy, trade, sell or whatever they like as long as they stay with the group. Obviously, we do not want to cause too much trouble while we are away. Let's keep all fighting at a minimum while we are away, yes? Let's return to the island with as few scars as we can manage, yes? Yes. - Ja'Lorei Vanjir - There the flier ends. Beside the fliers there is charcoal and several pieces of paper. It seems as though they were left to give a reader the option of responding to the flier. [ OOC ] Alright, so! I want to lead a couple of Kharajyr on little trips whenever possible. At the moment, we have no goal but I hope as it continues and we progress our characters we can create story-lines or problems of some kind that we can go to other countries to attempt to solve. Last night we had a lot of fun roleplaying together in Malinor and I think this could be a good opportunity to not only get us together but to let ourselves get known by other races. RP responses are welcome!

~Lore~ Pride Vanjir began during the changes that occurred within Kharajyr society. All too quickly, the Kharajyr were faced with conflicting ideals regarding welcoming the apes to their island, trusting the unfamiliar entities that lived so far away from their isle. Along with this, the elimination of the Aelkos ranks and the sudden attacks of apes on the island combined to create a confusing and overall daunting view of the future. Kharajyr from all walks of life, unhappy with what they saw the future to be, came together to form Pride Vanjir. Their goal was simple and focused; preservation of their race’s traditions and way of life. The members of the pride worked together to further the strength of their peers, improve their standing in society and, by extension, increase the pride’s survivability. The thought process of the members were to create a pride with incredible strength and as a result, large influence. Pride Vanjir values strength and power above all else. It is strongly encouraged that each pride members be strong enough to hold their own on a fight with another Kharajyr, no matter the gender or age. The cubs of the Vanjir are trained well so that they may easily pass their trails and become full members of the Pride as soon as possible. Pride Vanjir consists of warriors who banded together to resist the changes that were occurring in tradition and structure within the Kharajyr. This pride, born by a common goal and strengthened by the determination of its members, was able to properly accomplish its objectives and prevent major and, in their eyes, catastrophic change from affecting the island. Meanwhile in Pride Dran’tul, Tarkin rose and challenged the Mane of Dran’tul for control of the pride. The new pride, Pride Vanjir, has risen from the broken remains of Dran’tul and other noble warriors seeking to restore the power and prestige of the Kharajyr. ~Beliefs~ Strong to the roots of the Vanjir pride, strength is seen as a major deciding factor in a Kharajyr’s credibility. Those who are strong are believed to be more fit to lead and therefore be listened to. Both male and female Kharajyr are expected to be strong individuals or, at the very least, have know-how regarding strategy and what is necessary to fight. Strategists, that being those Kharajyr who are strong mentally rather than physically, are valuable as well but aren't exceptions to the overall idea of strength as they will still be upheld to the same standards as all other pride members. With certain views regarding apes and their welcome changing recently, the Vanjir pride has remained strangely oblivious to the new ideas. The pride continues to perceive apes as dangerous outsiders and though they might not show it immediately, trust with those who live so far away does not, if it will at all, come easily. With this distrust, comes their ideas that the Kharajyr are better off staying on the island, safely away from any corruption that the apes may bring, and viceversa, the apes are better off living on their own land rather than spreading to theirs. Religion is incredibly important to the members of Vanjir. They are taught at young ages to listen to the words of Metztli and follow her words as law. As a result, the Tlatanni and those who Metztli uses to speak to the Kharajyr are to be respected. Violation of Metztli’s word is an unheard of offense among the Vanjir and those who do disobey her word are punished. It is not uncommon for those in the Vanjir to act out in the name of Metztli, be it hunting or protecting a tradition that is about to be changed. ~Structure~ Manes Pride Vanjir’s leadership consists of three pride manes - the strongest members of the pride. It is through combat that the pride manes earn their position as leaders of the pride. Any member of the pride that has been within it for at least one Elven month may challenge one of the current manes to combat. The winner would take the place of the defeated mane. All decisions regarding the pride will be made by the three manes through discussion and a vote. There must be a majority vote to decide upon any matter brought up for consideration and discussion before the manes. Mane Council These are picked by the Manes to advise them in decision making but hold no vote. Council positions are often temporarily created to serve a certain purpose such as tournament organizers or ‘lieutenants’ of sorts for military actions. The Councilors are intended to be trustworthy individuals, though this can obviously change as quick as a Kha’s state of mind. The Councillors are an optional part of the Vanjir pride and can be compared to the Council that the Empire has in place. Priests Like the Priests in the Empire, they are seen as vessels of Metztli. They are responsible for giving the Mane and his Paws guidance. They are at relatively the same rank as the Military Kha, being a bit higher than them due to their closeness with Metztli and religion. Priests are supposed to give all the Kharajyr guidance on what the appropriate kind of action would be in any difficult situation. They can also be teachers of Metztli and her mysterious ways. Military Kha The Kharajyr who work in the Military are at relatively, the same rank as the priests due to the importance of strength in the pride however, this does not mean that there can be any disrespect toward Priests nor can the Priests disrespect any of the Military Kharajyr. They work as a unit, often working together to come to a common goal on how they go about their work. These Kharajyr are what many may think to be the warriors of the pride. With that image in mind, the Military Kharajyr are expected to be physically fit and battle savvy. Working Kha Kharajyr who have the intention of working and have a job but are not in the military or are distinguished priest. This rank may include those who are intending to work in the military or be a priest but have not yet been graduated or acknowledged by their teachers yet (instead of being marked as unemployed students fit into this rank). Unemployed Kharajyr The Kharajyr who do not have a job and overall, have no intention of working. Cubs and Kittens The children of the Kharajr within a pride. The young members below the age of 15 who have not yet passed their trials. ~Members~ Manes Do’Zhadaar ((SirSmithers)) Do’Tarkin ((Baronvo)) Ja’Lorei ((Re_addled)) Military Kha Do’Valawn ((Re_addled)) Do'Vaca ((BrandNewKitten)) Do'Vra'Zhix ((ghskilla)) Unemployed Kha Ri'Dato ((freema5)) Working Kha Sa’Jujan ((kim78717)) ~Recruitment~ To join the pride, simply talk to one of the manes.

[Ooc] Kharajyr: Split, Stay, Or Sanction?
Addled replied to cj_scout's topic in Anthos Roleplay Archive
My roleplay experience as a Kharajyr has mostly revolved around other Kharajyr and though there is nothing particularly wrong with this, roleplay with other races has become relatively nonexistent. While I would like to have more situations where my kha characters would be able to interact with other races, I think that the island gives the Kharajyr a sort of sanctuary. If something has gone wrong or the race deems something dangerous, the island has always been the safest place to be. I voted for Split because I enjoy the island and what experiences it brought however I believe we could use some more interaction though I'm not sure completely abandoning it is the answer. -
Well...I can deny it no longer. The summer is almost over...school starts on the 20th.

Percival smiles, genuinely excited for the first time in a very long time. Gasping, he reaches for his sketch book and begins flipping through the pages. He lets out a small laugh as he is unable to choose which idea he wants to bring to life first. Within moments, he is deep in thought, trying to work out what supplies he would need for the inventions he has in mind.

(OOC: I would like to remove Taeleh'avern and apply with a new character. Due to complications on my part, I don't think he will be the best character to play with anymore. If it isn't too much trouble, I'd like to re-apply with my dark elf. EDITED) Minecraft Name: Re_addled Skype Name (This may alternatively be PMed to be for privacy purposes): r.ble1 (I am already added to the group) Applicant Name: Percival Centrella Race and Age: Dark Elf. I am rather young, around seventy-eight years old now. What position are you applying for? (Librarian, Maven, Inventor, Analyst, Phrenal): I would like to apply as an Inventor. List any experience you have had with matters regarding that Department: I have been reading and gathering knowledge from books for as long as I can remember. Novels of all kinds have been a rather large part of my life along with the urge to create. Stories and dreams of achieving feats once thought impossible with machinery have plagued my mind for years and I've only played with the idea of pursuing such ideas. Most of my knowledge comes from the books I have mentioned before. I never had the fortune of meeting an inventor in person. Recently, I have been searching for common problems and drawing ideas of what I could create to solve such problems. None of these ideas have a physical form yet, due to my lack of supplies but the sketches I have made seem to be promising. Describe the reason for your interest in that position (>5 sentences): I am deeply interested in making the fantasies of new creations a reality and without the help of a group like this, I would never have the resources or support needed to pursue this dream. Along with this, I also am interested in the possible pool of knowledge that a group like this would possess. I am one of the only people in the Centrella family who has yet to have a calling or, at the very least, a job and I feel that I need to make a name for myself by doing something as useful as becoming an inventor. I need to prove my worth to my family and being a part of this group not only does that but helps me improve my skill and value as a person. By applying, should you be accepted you are expected to utterly adhere to the Common Clauses. Do you understand this?: I understand and pledge to follow the Common Clauses.

Ja'Lorei crosses her arms as she stares at the kha around her. This meeting is needed, she knew that, but still she felt uneasy at the many different minded kharajyr around her. She expected there to be conflict, arguments, maybe even a fight or two before the meeting was over. A few years ago, she would have cowered at the thought of being in such a dangerous situation. Now, she stands still, confident in herself and ready to defend herself if need be. A rumble left her throat, the low laughter only audible to those standing close to her. How long had it been since she had a chance to voice her opinions? How long had it been since she had let them pass her to please the kha around her? The meeting with the Gy'waka had given her insight, courage. Compared to that jittery bird, this meeting was much less intimidating. She could handle this. She looks toward the Tla' and recalls the subjects of the meeting quickly in her head. Forming her own opinions and what she wants to be heard, she bows quickly in the general direction of the Tla' and retreats back into Metztli's Blessing to think.

The Centrella family arrive late, muttering soft apologies as they fill in an empty spot at the meeting place. Each member of the family in their usual clothing and are standing together in a group. Though they are close to one another, it seems as though certain members of the family are avoiding each other. Vhaer and Percival are on opposite sides of the group. Vhaer is a larger distance away from the group itself, focused more on the strangers around them than the family beside them. Thalia is smiling pleasantly and speaking in soft tones to Ilienna. Kalyena is silent, her eyes on the host of the meeting. Tallocka is looking particularly sour and fortunately sober, grumbling something inaudible to his equally irate wife. Lilith is also quiet as she listens to the speakers. Percival listens to the speech, head tilted as he considers what the man is saying. He lifts his foot back and begins tapping it on the dirt in thought. He hadn't given the situation with the dark elves any serious thought before now and it felt odd to actually consider it a problem. He has become so accustomed to blowing off his problems, he just assumed that doing the same with this one would suffice. This meeting proved he was wrong. He inhaled deeply, crossing his arms in front of him as he bit his lip. His red eyes flickered from the other dark elves across from them. After a while, he speaks, voice uncharacteristically unsure. "I've heard similar things before yet I haven't heard anything else other than our need to unite..." He shakes his head and then speaks again, more confident. "If unity will make us stronger as a people then there is no reason to object."

An Ashen-Skinned Uprising; A Long-Eared Rekindling
Addled replied to Swgrclan's topic in Anthos Roleplay Archive
At the back of the crowd, Percival Centrella listens, his face a mixture of amusement and curiosity. Briefly, he felt sad that he couldn't spring forth any honest emotion from the speech. His family had just moved into Malinor. He hadn't known of the suffering that the speaker had told about. Within moments of listening to the speaker, he was clapping and cheering along with the crowd, allowing himself to get lost in everyone's excitement and agitation. -

I've added you both on skype. Hopefully Dan and I can talk to you both in a call and answer any questions you have or organize how this will work ^^ -
I am in need of people to play my kittens! If there are any people who would like to play a Kharajyr but aren't sure how to go about doing this, a kitten application may be an easy alternative to the usual process. Your parents would be Ki'lorei (Re_addled) and Do'Zhadaar (SirSmithers). Lorei is a Kha'Cheetrah while Zhadaar is a Kha'Pantera. That being said, our kittens would most likely be of these two sub-races. I believe that a few other sub-races would be fine however the majority of the kittens should either be Pantera or Cheetrah. Zhadaar is a member of the military and Lorei is co-owner of the tavern and studying with Ja'Sahra in order to become a Priest. Zhadaar and Lorei are both active members of the Kharajyr community that go on hunting trips off the island. Eventually, we would like our kittens to come along with us on these hunting trips. We are also considering making our own pride however this is still an idea. It is most likely that when the kittens are born, Lorei and Zhadaar will not be in a pride. If you are interested in becoming a part of our family or have any questions please leave a reply below. If possible, please add your skype name to the reply so we can keep in contact with you. Thank you!

OOC Information MC Name: Re_addled Have you read and fully understood Kharajyr lore?: Yes I have and and I do. Have you read and fully understood the Kharajyr application rules?: I have read and I fully understand the rules. Do you understand and accept that the Kharajyr application team may revoke this application in the future if they deem it necessary?: I do understand this and I will do everything in my power to make sure I do not deserve this penalty. Do you agree to both follow and uphold Kharajyr lore throughout your time in the Kharajyr?: Of course! Tell us one unique fact about Kharajyr lore, culture or history that you know.(We will check for plagiarism!): The Kharajyr speak only in third person and refer to other Kharajyr by their name as a replacement for "you". IC Information RP Name (This includes your character’s prefix): S'Valawn Character Sub-race: Tigrasi Character appearance (Including age and gender): Valawn is a 30 year old male with dull brown fur and dark stripes that cover his entire body. He is rather lanky for a Tigrasi, not being as bulky or as large as Tigrasi are usually. Among the rest of his subrace he would look the least impressive. The end of his tail is completely bare after an accident involving fire when he was a kitten, the fur never grew back. This bald area is rather noticeable and big enough to be held in a paw and still have uncovered, bare skin. The fur leading up to the bald spot is frayed, making it even more noticeable. What is the personality of your character like?: Valawn is a competitive Tigrasi who shows an eagerness to learn and understand new things but seems to lack the drive to dedicate himself to something that appear to take a long time. He gets frustrated rather easily, especially when he is denied something he believes he deserves. He is driven by self-preservation and believes that life should be filled with pleasures rather than worry or stress. This belief leads him to slack off and often laze about instead of following orders or doing needed chores. He is not above complimenting others to gain their favor. He is a playful individual, often teasing and bothering other kha even when the situation is dire. Biography (If you are applying as a kitten, please only state the name of your parents/siblings) As a kitten Valawn was allowed to do whatever he pleased, go whereever he wished and do whatever he wanted with little parental supervision. He was a spoiled kitten though as soon as he became old enough to fend for himself, his parents left him to his own devices. Though they are still alive and well on the island, he rarely speaks about them. It even appears as though his parents and Valawn have parted ways completely, no longer seeing each other as family but something distant like neighbors. As a cub Valawn was an active troublemaker. He would try and lead the other cubs into playing with him instead of training with the older Kharajyr. Punishments did little to change his behavior, only making him more careful and more likely to leave his playmates behind when it seemed as though the adults had realized they were gone. After a painful fight with his angry friends, his tendency to leave them behind lessened to the point of being nonexistant. As an adult, Valawn is a bit more mature though he strives more for the rewards in life without struggling through the processes to achieve them. Character’s ambitions within the Kharajyr: Valawn hopes to achieve a rank in society that he enjoys and requires little effort on his part. Not exactly a job that requires little effort but a job that, to him, would be effortless and simple. If that fails, he simply wishes to be happy and have a set time for regular relaxing times. He also longs to have a partner who will understand his lifestyle, be a kha with a large amount of energy and a willingness to play. Character’s strengths/weaknesses: Due to his lack of initiative, he rarely does things unless he is commanded to do something. He has the potential to be successful in a number of fields but often fails due to his own laziness. He plays when it isn't appropriate and has trouble reading the atmosphere. When he is determined, he can force himself to accomplish a task, granted it might not be the best outcome but he'll get it done. He can be an optimistic person that can brighten up a depressing situation however his optimism can quickly become annoying. His energy levels are used mostly for play, making him the perfect playmate for kittens and cubs. He adores kittens and baby animals. You are heading home from a successful hunting trip when a group of three heavily armoured humans jump out from behind a tree and start demanding the surrender of your catch over to them. Each man has a sword drawn and they are gradually pacing towards you... How does your character react? Valawn looks up from his kill, mouth watering. His ears lower slightly as he eyes the group of men slowly approaching him and his tail begins to whip with unease. He lifts his kill up slightly, testing its weight and frowns as it, in his estimation, would be too heavy to escape with. He stands, flexing his fingers and letting out a low, gravely sigh. He closed his eyes, his ears twitching at the crunch of the humans' footsteps. He opens his eyes, lips curling into a snarl and baring his fangs as he rolls his shoulders. He lets out a breath, an almost laugh, as one of the three men hesitate and stumble a bit. The other two continue toward him, their weapons held steady. Valawn inhales slowly and then lets out a fierce roar and drops on all fours to charge the three, pure fury marring his features. This kill was his. He had earned it. 2. You arrive at the temple of Metztli only to see one of your closest friends stealing the sacred blue gems from the altar, a most unholy act for a Kharajyr. How does your character react? Valawn pauses, tilting his head slowly as he watches his friend struggle with a jewel in the altar. There were other jewels, each a different size, at his feet. Eyes narrowing, Valawn begins to pick up the jewels and place them back in their appropriate holes. He jolts a bit when his friend flinches and whimpers, his paws flying off of the slanted jewel. His eyes are wide and he looks so frightened, Valawn can't help but feel amused. He shakes his head, sighing as he places the jewels back. Occasionally he would glance back at his cowering friend, let out raspy sigh and then return to fixing the altar. He do so slowly, enjoying his own friend's increasing guilt. As he reached the jewel his friend was having trouble with before, he paused, making sure to take a long time as he pressed it into its place. As it clicked slightly, back where it belong. He left his paw there and closed his eyes. "Valawn has'eh nevawr been su desuhpoynt'd..." And then he walked away, his tail forced low and stiff as he had to hide his joy. He had got a good look of his friend's despaired look as he left, he would probably turn himself in later. It almost made his actions meaningful. He allowed himself a snicker as he was out of hearing distance. 3. You are in the Cloud Temple when a stout, angry little dwarf begins yelling highly racist terms towards you at the top of his lungs. Although unarmed, the dwarf continues to yell after he makes eye contact with you. How does your character react? Valawn narrows his eyes a little, blankly analyzing the dwarf as he continues to shout at the top of his lungs. It is noisy, annoying and he seems to be embarassing the others around him. Valawn can't help but feel fascinated by how pointlessly upset the dwarf is, how red his face is getting, how hard he has to gasp in order to get enough air to yell the next slurrs up at his face. He hums, face still analytical as he crouches down, making a show of how tall he is compared to the dwarf. Offended, the dwarf begins to shout louder, if possible, and his face turns a new shade of red. Valawn holds back a smile, lips twitch instead. It was surprisingly easy to focus more on how ridiculous the dwarf looked instead of what he was saying. In fact, he could barely understand him anyway. As the dwarf continues to ramble on, his face stubbornly staying the same color and the entertainment value of staying inside the temple falling dramatically, Valawn begins to feel increasingly annoyed. He stands up, brushing past the dwarf so hard he bumps painfully into the corner of a wall nearby and moves to leave. He hears the dwarf grunt and hiss, mumbling under his breath. As Valawn steps into the sunlight and out of the temple, his memory of the event almost instantly leaves him as he begins to plan where he is going before he returns to his home island. Valawn felt horrible for this, truly horrible. He couldn't even bring himself to make any excuse to make himself feel better or justify his own actions. He turned away from the still burning reckage, paws limp at his sides. He inhaled shortly and then let out an unstable, shaking sigh. On the brink of breaking down and crying, he turned toward his unconscious friend. Burnt and exhausted, but safe and more importantly, alive. He had saved his friend. Someone he was familiar with instead of someone he didn't know. Someone who probably didn't realize how much danger they were in. Someone who was too young to enjoy as much as he or his friend had and would now, never get the chance. He let a kitten burn. He couldn't shake his guilt. He let a kitten die. And not just any kitten. Valawn shook his head, drawing his knees close and letting his forehead fall atop them. He let the Tla's kitten die. The Tla. He would be so disappointed in him. He had failed not only him but the entire empire. He'd failed everyone to benefit himself, to save one of his friends. Beside him, his friend groaned and shifted, still safe in sleep. Valawn lifted his head and looked toward his friend, then looked ahead at the dying fire and sighed.
