  1. We have now made a section for frequently asked questions! If you have a question that isn't in this section, please feel free to asked those in this thread. ^^
  2. We have our own home location somewhere secret in a forest (seeing as how we're deer, there's actually a really big hint of which forest we're in if you know where to look) but when we aren't there we occasionally travel in groups to settlements for tiny events or just for fun roleplay.
  3. You should have gotten a new response in the previous forum post. If you're still interested and have already filled out the application then there shouldn't be that much of a wait time at all. We'll get to adding everyone previously interested soon, it should be within the next few days when we get to it. Yes. Please see the lore post in the original thread.
  4. Ja'Lorei stands, listening to the speech with a frown marring her features. She looks around at the kha listening, shaking her head at their affirmative responses. After the recent failure of the revolution, she wasn't exactly open to the idea of major change, especially one so sudden. Especially one after the change in power from the Tla to the priests. She exhaled, rolling her tongue across her fangs. This didn't sit well with her at all. Sure, she was obviously biased. She had her alliances. She knew her place. As far as she knew, the revolution's failure was a sign from Metztli. The Mother had obviously chosen which side she favored. Lorei had gotten a second chance. She wasn't going to fall out of line. As Rameethar began to speak, Lorei barely held back from throwing her hands up in the air. Finally, a kha who had sense! "Listawn tu the Aelkos. Du nawt fawll fawr tha sa'yme speech tha authers have saed befawr. Th'ys speech haws awlredee been saed. Awnd'ah yet, Metztli awnlee tuuk cawr auwf ae few auf tha kha whu fell astrey." She pauses, looking at the group of kha though she knew she wasn't reaching the majority of them. Still, she waited, willing to convince the other kha who thought she was wrong.
  5. I have never felt so accomplished. Success!

  6. Ja'Lorei washes the tables of the tavern idly, mentally running through the speech the Tlatanni shouted early. The words rang through her head constantly like the broken tone of a clock. Ever since the visit to the strange glowing monuments before she had Hfelt strange. She felt a strong disconnection from her people, one that she hadn't felt in a long while. She paused, the tattered rag she was using to wash stilling. In fact, she hadn't felt like this since she finally completed her journey into priesthood. She shook her head viciously and sighed, the breath leaving her quickly. Her head felt light, dizzy, as she continued to mindlessly rub the rag across the exact same thought. If any other kha or customer had come into the tavern, she wouldn't have noticed, too locked in her own thoughts. Had she strayed? Had she fallen from the path Metztli had generously laid out for her? Why was she feeling like this? She was so distraught and locked into her thoughts that she hadn't even noticed someone place the flier on the wall until she had looked up. The person was long gone. She straightened, leaving the rag on the too clean table and walked over to the Arena Champion wall. She tore the flier from the wall and read over it quickly. Licking her lips nervously, she looked out toward the entrance of the tavern and quickly hid the flier inside of her hood. What exactly was going on here? She went back to the table with the rag and hurriedly cleaned the rest of the tables. Her thoughts more jumbled than they were before. Something dangerous was brewing... OOC Just in case it wasn't clear. Currently Lorei is on the fence about whatever is going on.
  7. Kha' name and current title: (Example: Ri'Natayshi) Ja'Lorei Kha's age: 67? Other commitments: (Example: The Mage's Guild) Lorei has no other commitments Previously a priest? If so, state the teacher: Yes. Sage Natayshi A short paragraph on your reason for joining: Lorei has been one of Metztli's priests for a long time now. She believes that she is needed to help teach the next generation of kha and the rest of Meztli's diverse children her glory. She has been introduced to several different problems in her past years, she has seen the trouble of the kha and believes she has the experience needed to properly support her people. She has taught a few lessons herself and has given a few kha seeking advice guidance on what they should do. With the recent visit to the sun and moon altars, Lorei thinks her participation with Metztli and the rest of the priests is very necessary. Please allow Lorei to continue so she may properly serve our Mother.
  8. ((MC Name:)) Re_addled Name: Porro Tosscobble Halfling Subrace (Halfling, Hobbit, Gnome, Munchkin >:) , or Fairy): Halfing Selected Job: Town Fisherman [Due to complications with persona slots, my gobo could also do the same.]
  9. ((Mc name)): Re_addled ((Timezone)): EST - Eastern Standard Time. -5 GMT Name: Ja'Lorei Race: Kha'Cheetrah Occupation and skills: Priest. Fishing/Chef/Woodworking Do you require housing: If the priests have a specific place to live, no. If not, yes. ((Mc name)): Re_addled ((Timezone)): EST - Eastern Standard Time. -5 GMT Name: Do'Valawn Race: Kha'Tigrasi Occupation and skills: Military. Fishing/Lumberjack/Woodworker Do you require housing: No. Unless there is space, there is no reason for Valawn to have a home. I don't want this character to take up any space that could be used for someone else's main.
  10. All aboard the hype train! It has no brakes!

  11. Race/Subrace: Kharajyr. Cheetrah/Tigrasi/Pantera Have you played a character from this (sub)race?: Yes. Describe how you imagine the music this (sub)race would listen to? If you can name a music genre or post an example link that would be even better: Kharajyr music would focus mainly on the beat. They generally play but aren't limited to percussion instruments. If you can imagine tribal music, Kharajyran music would be just that with a possibly a little flair due to their recent proximity towards other races and other cultures. What do you imagine this (sub)race's songs would be about?: Metztli, the Moon, Prides, Family, Togetherness, Remaining strong under hardship, Hunting, Nature(Jungle). The Kha are a prideful race so I imagine their songs would have a little self-praise in there too perhaps at the expense of belittling another race. What kinds of songs do you think would be most commonly found sung by this subrace? (i.e. war songs, lullabies, jigs, religious music, ballads...): War songs, Religious music. The Kha have get togethers like sacrifices, feasts and hunts often so it might be possible to just have songs made just for fun. Though they aren't notoriously the best singers around, there are quite a few kha that like singing. [This might not fit. But I figured if you suspend disbelief or at the very least take out the main voice. The humming and the beat could serve as a good example for a version of kharajyr music.] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTaauYDzjtw
  12. [OOC] Decided to plan a little mini event of sorts for the Kharajyr. It will be a get-together with some sort of sacrifice as the center of the gathering. This post is basically an in-character meeting between Lorei and the rest of the kha as they discuss this idea. Please note that the ideas suggested or discussed in the thread will be taken seriously and might affect the way the event is brought into being. I want to make sure this is fun for all who might be attending as well as jump-start our forums again. It was still an early hour. The sun has just begun to hit the arch of the sky. It was a warm day, the warmth a harbinger of the heat that would come later on that day. The warmth was familiar but the memories it brought forth were bitter and allowed a surge of emotion to overwhelm her. Ja'Lorei exhaled, a wistful sigh passing her lips without her own accord. Her eyes flitted to the clear, bare sky and imagined it covered by thick branches with large, branching leaves. She imagined that the smooth, white towers were trees and the grass was overgrown, wild. Her eyes slid closed and she imagined the chattering of the birds of the jungle, the almost silent rustling of the animals in hunt or just passing by. The fantasy was beautiful and she let herself get taken away by it. She missed it deeply. She missed her home. "Gates!" A voice shouted, clear with a level of implied sophistication and self-importance that was so very High Elven. "Someone! Open the Gates!" It was only said once but it was enough to break the illusion. The memory faded away back into the trim, foreign landscaping that she was now tolerated. She slumped in her seat as if the sudden loss drained her of energy. She was still, letting the reality settle before she reluctantly forced herself to her feet and moved to the railing of the Headquarters of the Kharajyr settlement (or Kha'mp as some jokingly call it). It was hung high above the land and attached to the rocky hill previously uninhabited. The top of said hill now occupied two cabins crammed to each of their respective capacities with beds, chests, bags and other belongings. The Headquarters and the cabins were in their style. They looked noticeable different than the architecture of the High Elve. It was a fact that she appreciated but also felt a bit of disdain about. Their settlement was undeniably small. They liked the space they had, don't get her wrong, but in comparison to the city that it was located in, it was relatively tiny. This, of course, made them stand out a bit more because they were a tiny, different thing located in a usually uniform race capital. All this, Lorei could understand, she wasn't upset about any of this. It was the fact that it made them look like an abnormality, a growth, an addition to a race. Ever since they were forced away from their lands they became dependent on the good will of another group. They had to go to those whose alliances were shaky and brittle and ask for assistance, biting their tongue while they pushed back their pride. They acted the same, or at least they tried to, but it was becoming increasingly obvious to Lorei that her people were beginning to doubt their strength as a race. This simply could not continue. The Kha, as a whole, were losing their identity along with the steadfast confidence that they lead themselves by. She would be lying if she said she didn't believe it was her fault. She allowed herself to be melancholy, to slack as her people wandered aimlessly. No longer. Leaning a bit over the railing, she watched the people below. As she finally pushed away from the carved bars, she made a decision. Tonight, she would hold a meeting. --- -- --- --- -- - - - She waited, perched a bit on the edge of one of the ledges, her hands gripping the railing behind her as she watched the Kha climb down the ladder and find their place. It had been hours now since she had decided to take actions into her own hands and now, it was finally time for everything to come together. As movement began to slow, she started to speak. "We awr ae strawng pepawl, awr we nawt?" She paused, listening to the murmur of agreement that spotted across the crowd. "Yus, we awr. But et haws shawn tu Lorei's eyes thet we awr luseng awr strength." She pointed to her head and tapped feverishly. Her voice rasping briefly. "Th'ys. We awr tha wuns thet awr maykeng awrsalves weak. We nu lawnger beleeve we awr strawng." A few people in the crowd let out a few denials but she paid them no mind, ignoring them for now. "We nu lawnger beleeve we awr guud enouf fawr awr Muuna?" This got a large reaction. Several voices broke out in the crowd, the voices mashing together in a single yapping shout. She let the noise drone for a while and when it began to raise, the crowd becoming increasingly irritated by her silence she rose her hands. Her palms showing passively, she let them fall and asked, looking at them from the corner of her eye. "Nu?" Several "No's" were echoed back at her. "Then," She started, bringing her hands together. "Let aus pruve et." She smiled at the silence and took this as a sign to continue. "A sahcri'fyce. Awnd'ah ae wh'yle awfta tu be tugetha, yus? Wut du kha thenk?" She waits then, stepping down and allowing herself to be lower so another can take the spotlight. -----
  13. Of course people roleplay kha still. We're still here.
  14. Regarding the pilot, I thought the music in the intro was very neat and for the first few seconds I was pretty interested but I think the fact that it didn't really show anything other than a pan down a road made it a sort of lack luster intro. Perhaps something could be added and changed with every episode, be it a showcase of the newscasters and their names or a preview of what the news will show with clever titles and quick silent clips as the intro music plays (similar to how actual news networks introduce their show). Being completely honest, I don't really find any of the news videos interesting to LotC and after some thought, I've come up with a few reasons. The first would be the lack of novelty with the news as well as the fact that most of the stories told are often events that could be read and known about if you look at the forums. Though it is a good idea in theory, the interesting part of the news is taken out entirely when the events, no matter how important, have been explained before-hand in a previous forum post. To clarify, this is mainly regarding the server-wide event story. A way to make this interesting would be to have actual news-people go out into the server and find people who have been affected by these stories. Like in actual news, the first-person telling of what is going on as well as the drama that comes up with finding out details about a person's life after a tragedy is very interesting as well as a good attention grabbing technique for an RP community. I cannot emphasize enough the need to make the News and the In-Game community a unit. Actual stories that will affect the outcome of role-play is very interesting. For example, say a new tavern opened up in a part of a town that needs workers. The news could then showcase the tavern, let the owner speak for a bit about what kind of environment he/she hopes will be brought about in the future and give details about where it is located. I would honestly watch the news for role-play relevant material like this. Also, though it seemed to be rejected before, having some sort of in-game version of the newsletter would also be an interesting addition. I wont go into much detail about my ideas here considering it was already rejected by another but it is something to think about and I wanted to let you all know that someone else thought this was an interesting idea. On a slightly more related note, I think people are getting crabby because they are expected something different from the Media Team and I supposed they did not want another newsletter even if it is replacing the old one. If the newsletter thing honestly doesn't get good feedback, perhaps something else needs to be brought to the table. For example, maybe during the Scourge event, there could have been a sort of episodic television show type of thing or during a time without huge events there could simply be some sort of in-character show that changes however the Media Team sees fit. These would probably be rehearsed and would most likely be akin to a play of sorts that would require actors and willing people, both of which may be difficult to find, but it might be worth a shot. It would do the exact same thing the news is supposed to do, inform, while keeping the audience entertained. In-Game aspects. Interviews done IC, actual touring and recording of race areas, asking the races if there are any current problems, etc. Small conflicts, political problems and even petty fights might be captured in these instances. With that, I wish the pilot and the Media Team luck with whatever project they plan in the future and hope that my criticism helped in some way.
  15. No disrespect but, just out of curiosity, how would it be explained in rp when the character's who have had magic suddenly aren't able to do their magic anymore? Is there a planned story line or explanation or something? Honestly, I'm getting a bit concerned here. I don't exactly agree with this complete reset of magic in role play, especially since we might not even be able to have our specific magics in the plugin. I understand the need to regulate magic role play, to a point, but I think going as far as to restrict role play to the plugin is a bit much.
  16. Magic is looking pretty good. I had to admit I was worried but this has definitely exceeded my expectations. I'm very excited to see this in action.
  17. I really like this idea. I'd love for this to be implemented.
  18. I'd say that the average male kha is around his mid thirties.
  19. Could you elaborate a bit on that? Do you mean how old are the kha on average or just in general how old is a random kha?
  20. I don't understand why people think new players wouldn't be able to learn how to do this. Don't we all have the same access to the videos as well as future guides that will probably be created after the plug-in is released? The plug-in itself seems to be as helpful as it could be, having descriptions on what each of the symbols mean in order to avoid confusion. Didn't we all have to learn how things worked in LOTC and compared to the large amount of lore as well as racial rules and standards among the community, this plugin should be the easiest to get a hold of. But seriously guys, Telanir made a video and spoke slowly explaining and showing how the crafting worked. I'm positive the video would be more than enough to help a new player through the plugin. If I'm completely missing the point or something could someone explain where this is coming from?
  21. Lorei responds to the notice then folded her letter and handed it to the nearest Halfling she caught still handing out invitations. Mul'ta for the invitation, it is well-received. The event interests Lorei and she believes that if she isn't busy and have others in need, she will attend this gathering . If Lorei attends, she wishes to have a stall. She intends to sell fish and possibly an array of incense as well as her calming magic to those who pay coin. Lorei is told that it is very therapeutic and she believes it would be of good interest at this festival. Best wishes. Ja'Lorei
  22. It depends on what you consider a litter. We've had several instances of khas sticking to births of one and two and then others having three to four kittens at a time. I suppose the answer would be yes, they do have litters but the litters vary in size. You also would have to take into account the high mortality rate and disappearances of kittens. Few seem to make it to adulthood.
  23. Kha'cheetrah are the best sub-race because they are quick-witted and swift. They can handle themselves in battle and can easily escape when things go sour. They also have stylish spots that go with any form of clothing and the best facial fur patterns. Now, you might be thinking..."Hey, don't Leprada have spots too?" and yes, you're right. They /do/ have spots, but those aren't the best spots. Look at a Leopard. Now, look at a Cheetah. See how incredibly dull the leopard looks compared to the Cheetah? Yes, it is unfortunate, but true. No other subrace can compare to the power of Cheetrah. (Bias because my main is cheetrah)
  24. Kharajyr have breasts. Humans can have more than two children at once too, so I figure it still make sense if we follow your logic.
