The United Kingdom of Aaun, being a relatively new nation state formed within the old lands of the Harvest Confederacy & former Holy Orenian Empire, has proven to be of great interest to the incumbent Grand King of Urguan, Agnar Grandaxe. Wishing to extend a friendly hand towards the United Kingdom of Aaun, on this date, The Grand King of Urguan made known his intention to enter into a Trade agreement between the two realms. It is hoped by the signing of this agreement, a step may be taken to future pleasant relations between the two realms.

ARTICLE I: AUTHENTICITY

I. The signatories recognise the authority, their titles and leadership of the counter-signatories, including their ability to exercise their powers (including the power to create lasting treaties between their peoples), as well as their responsibilities to their people that come with their respective positions of prestige. 

ARTICLE II: TRADE

I. The signatories entitle each other the right to one shop or stall in each other’s capital’s market, free of tax to encourage trade, as well as ensuring the free passage of merchants and trade caravans in one another’s territory.

II. For a merchant to claim the stall or shop in a respective capital’s market, a merchant is to inform the respective economic representative of the nation of the requested stall or shop & are required to inform the diplomatic representative of the countersignatory nation.

ARTICLE III: CULTURAL EXCHANGE

I. The signatories agree to a Cultural Exchange with the counter-signatories nation, in the hopes of developing a deeper understanding and well-meaning relationship for future generations within both nations.

II. This Cultural Exchange will include a delegation of culture being sent to the counter-signatories national capital. Such delegations will showcase the traditions, culture and scholarship of their homelands. 

ARTICLE IV: DURATION

I. The signatories agree that this Treaty shall last for a duration of TEN years

II. In the case that either party violates the pact, all articles shall remain in effect while both parties attempt to resolve matters diplomatically, lest the agreement mutually dissolve. 

III. At the conclusion of the pact’s duration, the possibility of an extension may be considered if found beneficial to both parties.

Article I - Vassalage & Protectate
 

The people of Corbenic shall enter into a vassalage agreement under the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, loyal to the Grand King.

Article II - Land
 

The people of Corbenic shall be granted lands in the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, north of Urguani lands near Eastfleet, the settlement shall be named the village of Corbenic. 

Article III - Taxes
 

The people of Corbenic shall pay 1000 mina down payment for the land itself, and will pay a total of 100 mina tax per year to the Grand Kingdom of Urguan to retain said land. The village of Corbenic reserves the right to levy its own taxes upon its people.

Article IV - Law
 

Within their own borders and over their own people, the village of  Corbenic shall be allowed to dictate their own laws, as well as establish their own procedure for trying and convicting criminals, so long as these laws and procedures do not conflict with the established Codex of Civil Laws of the Grand-Kingdom of Urguan. Though the civil laws of Urguan have priority.

Article V - Military and Protection
 

The village of Corbenic agreed to supply the Grand Kingdom of Urguan’s Military with auxiliaries, at the discretion of the relevant authority. Additionally, due to the relocation of the Ireheart clans fortress from the west to the northern border of Urguan. The village of Corbenic shall be overseen and protected by the Clan Ireheart.

Article VI - Oath
 

The village of Corbenic shall swear oaths of loyalty to the Grand Kingdom of Urguan and its Grand-King, to be renewed upon the ascension of a new Grand-King. 

Article VII - Renegotiation
 

The contract between the Grand Kingdom of Urguan and people of Corbenic will be reopened to negotiation in seven years time.

The Grand King, Agnar Grandaxe, walked into the throneroom standing before the Obsidian throne as he looked towards his nation. Agnar had waited for some time for more to come who ran a bit late before beginning.

Speech by the Grand King:

Kin of Urguan, it has been eight years since you chose me as your king, eight years ago I looked at a nation in stagnation, now I see a nation of opportunity. Beardlings are the future of our society, and we must educate and raise them, so they will replace us when we depart for the Khaz’a’Dentrumm!

Within these eight years, we reopened the Urguan Railways, that long have been abandoned. Now we see the railroads work day and night, transporting materials towards our kingdom's Shipyard.

But that was only the beginning, for Urguan clung to the past while the world moved forward and adapted. We as Kin of Urguan too must adapt, and as your King, I felt we had to modernize our own infrastructure. Titles such as King’s hand and Grand Marshall are dissolved, for our world does not circle around war any more, we seek to have a stable realm where roads are safe and people can prosper. However, new titles were forged in their place, Grand Ambassador who does our nations' diplomacy at keeping peace and close touch with other nations, and Grand Master of War to prepare our nation for war if peace is no longer an option.

We, too, dissolved the Legion of Urguan and integrated the legionnaires into the Obsidian Guard. They are the active personnel of the nation that guards and protects those that live within our territory, including the King. 

During Bakir’s rule, our nation changed its system to what they believed was good at that time, to have a Grand Senate while dissolving the Grand Council. It worked for a time, but clans that once had representation lost influence with such and cost more bickering and infighting than it had with a Grand Council. Thus, we transitioned back to the Grand Council, in hopes that clans can voice individual opinions to the matter once more. 

As Kings come and go, alliances have an expiration date on such. With the newly formed Grand Ambassador, we reaffirmed Alliances of Urguan with allies we have fought side by side for some decades and others centuries. With one being: Our oldest ally Kingdom of Haense. But we, too, opened trade routes across Almaris so our dwarven merchants can trade across the Realm once more.

But this is only the beginning, for more things have to be achieved before we are fully modernized.

The safety of Urguan remains a key element and main focus, so our kin can feel safe within their own borders. To ensure that our kin too are safe during external political affairs such as wars. So that unneeded blood can’t be spilled.

Aside from safety, it is important that our constitution is ahead of our time, for it is outdated and speaks of things we no longer use or do. We need to make amendments and changes that correlate with today’s Urguan. So that it is up-to-date to the current day.

Moreover, Hefrumm who too long relied on Urguan’s monetary system must allow them to have their own banking system that befits their culture.

Finally, we aim to bolster and grow the Workforce of Urguan, for it is the beating heart of our nation. Without it, we are nothing.

As the Grand King finished, he’d begin to call for recognition towards Sigrun Ireheart who was recognized by the Paladins and many across Almaris for his valiant efforts against the undead dragon Cloudbreaker. Thus he was presented pieces of bone from it, as a way of gratitude.

• Thalgrim Goldhand presented a suggestion of creating a militia force to serve underneath the newly formed Obsidian Guard. But was denied as the Grand King sought to see how the new Guard does upon its reformation.
   
• Thromdrick Irongut asked upon the resignation of the Justicar, Briga Irongut, if he could fill into the position as Lord Justicar. The Grand King would accept but would name Ulfric Frostbeard as acting-Justicar until Thromdrick is more trained to uphold the position as Justicar.

A quarter of a century prior, Almaris witnessed the end of hostilities which had engulfed a great many nations within the flames of war, beginning a period of peace that has lasted to the present day. That war was ended and subsequent peace held by the combined actions of the parties within the now-expired East Almaris Treaty Organization (EATO). IV. The signatories reserve the right to expand this defensive pact into a full military alliance whenever deemed favorable by both parties.

As the world of Almaris changes, so too must the relations between the Nation-states of Almaris adapt to the new reality from previous relationships. In light of these developments, it is the wish of the signatories to improve upon their relationship, effect a timely renewal and amendment to the Petrine-Dwarven Free Trade Agreement of 1898, engage in cultural exchanges & look to a new period of friendships between the signatories two realms.

II. In the case that either party violates the pact, all articles shall remain in effect while both parties attempt to resolve matters diplomatically. 

III. At the conclusion of the pact’s duration, the possibility of an extension may be considered if found beneficial to both parties.

A New Grand King is Crowned

Citizens, friends, and allies gather in Kal’Darakaan’s throneroom for the coronation of Agnar Grandaxe. As all gathered and took their seats, a sound of bagpipes would be sounded as Agnar would march into the throneroom accompanied by his clansmen. As Agnar made his way, the High Prophet would begin the grand ceremony. After the High Prophet addressed the crowd, he’d then look towards Agnar, having him swear his oaths.

Upon finishing his oaths, Agnar would kneel in front of the High Prophet as he grasped the Crown of Urguan and placed it upon the Grandaxe’s head, thus declaring him as Grand King of Urguan. As he rose the crowd would cheer for the newly crowned monarch.

As the cheers ended, the newly crowned Grand King would step forth addressing the crowd.

“Sons and daughters of Urguan, friends, and allies. All my life I’ve served this Kingdom and defended it from those that had wished to harm us. Now I am granted with great privilege and honor in sitting upon this ancient Obsidian throne, forged by the Paragon, Thorin Grandaxe. A throne that many Grand Kings have sat upon and led our people through many trials and tribulations, even my predecessor and son, Bakir Ireheart.

But I must admit that I didn’t plan to be Grand King those many stone months ago as that was never my business. Though as time went on it had become apparent to me that it was time for me to step up and take on this burden. Now upon this day, I stand before you all as Grand King of Urguan.

With me coming out and admitting that I did not plan to be in this role, it is also time for us as a Kingdom to also admit the truth of our current state as a nation. For too long we have barricaded ourselves with our old ways. It is time for us to reach out and fight for a new era - a decent era that will give us great prestige and prosperity. And for the sake of our forefathers, it is time for us to also see that unity is once again restored with all sons and daughters of Urguan.

Now upon this day of celebration I, Agnar Grandaxe, swear to you all that I shall do my utmost best and be the hammer on getting what is needed to be done. I swear to you, that I shall be the mountain that stands between those that may aim to harm us. And I swear to you that I shall ensure that this Kingdom retains and brings forth unity and great prestige for the years to come.

So with that being said, to all my fellow dwarves in Almaris! In the name of our forefathers, let us all unite and feast as Sons and Daughters of Urguan!”

The Coronation of Agnar Grandaxe

Upon the end of the election, Agnar Grandaxe was officially elected as the 35th Grand King of Urguan, and will be crowned by the High Prophet, Garedyn The Green. The coronation shall be taking place in the throneroom of Kal’Darakaan. And the Grand Kingdom invites its allies and citizens to this grand ceremony, as long as they respect its laws and its traditions. Within this ceremony, it shall consist of Agnar’s crowning, first words as Grand King, and well wishes.
