  1. Sigmund Ludovar smiles upon seeing Esfir enter the seven skies. He gives a wave of acknowledgement towards her before stating. "It's been nearly dvadtzeg years since the last time we spoke. I'm sure there is much to discuss. Now, how's my family doing?" He spoke as he walked alongside those who gathered to welcome her as well.

  3. ✶ AN OLD CROW’S DEATH ✶ Visual of Duke Sigmund Ludovar lying upon his deathbed, circa 2032 ༻⊰───────────────⊱༺ ⠀𓄿⠀༻⊰───────────────⊱༺ Within Isaakev, the ducal chambers was cold, the heavy stone walls of the chamber silent but for the faint wheezing breaths that came from the Duke's pale lips, as he lay upon his bed. Faintly, the sunlight shone through the narrow windows, catching the sweat that rested upon Sigmund’s face. Each breath he let out was a struggle; shallow, ragged, and punctuated by a weak cough that echoed faintly in the still air within the chamber. His firstborn son, Brother Stefan, knelt at his bedside, murmuring prayers. The physicians came and went, their faces drawn with pure concern, as they felt powerless against the dark cloud that crept over the Duke’s life. His grandchildren visited often alongside his sons, clutching his hands with gentle hope, and his cousins visited to offer comfort. But what Sigmund longed for most was the face of his secondborn, Robert, the future of House Ludovar. Despite the physician's efforts, Sigmund already knew deep within his bones that the illness that possessed his body had taken so many before him. The wheezing continued to worsen, his cough had gotten harsher by the day, but his mind was still sharp. As Sigmund kept his gaze towards his secondborn son, and heir, he reached for his sword that rested on the bedside table, the Light of Valdev. A sword gifted to him by his father, Henrik-Otto, who informed him of a tradition he started. A tradition to which the sword is gifted to each head of house, thus bearing a symbol of leadership, honor, and unyielding duty. And it is with great effort that Sigmund grasped the sword with what strength he had left, calling for Robert to come closer. “Robert..” Sigmund whispered, his voice rough yet steady, “this sword was won by my papej… it was his will that this sword be passed down to each head of house within our family.” Sigmund coughs harshly, grunting as he did so before continuing, “I.. I am passing this to vy now, niet just as a symbol, but as a charge. Lead this family with courage, with wisdom, and with the unwavering loyalty our family has shown through many generations. Vy will…” he’d pause for a moment, catching his breath, “vy.. vy will face many challenges. But know that vy are niet alone…” Sigmund would motion towards his other two sons, Stefan, Edvard, alongside all of his grandchildren, and cousins. With a trembling hand, Sigmund places the sword towards Robert’s chest. Upon placing the sword towards Robert’s chest, Sigmund held it there for a slight moment. He gave a nod towards Robert as he took the sword, accepting the weapon and the legacy that came with it. All before the room seemed to dim. The warmth of the morning sun faded as a hush fell over his chambers. A faint golden light settled at the edge of what he seemed to have been a vision. His family, who had gathered, watched in silence as they saw the Duke lying still. His eyes began to drift upwards to something that they could not see. ༻⊰───────────────⊱༺ As the light engulfed him, he no longer felt any pain or illness. He felt lighter, stronger, and calmer. A feeling he hasn't felt in some time. Before him, a snowy field stretched beneath the bright sunlight that shone across it. As Sigmund looked closer towards the golden light ahead of him, he saw a figure he knew: his father. His father stood tall, a smile grew upon his face as his gaze met Sigmund's. “Vy have done well, my son. Things rarely go as we hope, but vy endured. Vy were able to lead not just with strength, but with dignity. Vy even continued my legacy,” Sigmund cleared his throat, still in shock upon seeing his father. “I.. I tried, but Haense is nie more, and I....” he’d stop as Henrik-Otto interrupts, "Vy did exactly what any Ludovar would have done with the cards that vy were dealt. Despite all the trials, vy were still able to carry the name with honor. Vy made me proud, just as much as I hope I made vy. But come now, my son, there is much to show and more for vy to learn." Henrik-Otto stepped forward, his expression softened as he extended his hand out towards Sigmund. ༻⊰───────────────⊱༺ Back in the chamber, his family watched as the old Duke lay still. His gaze remained distant, before his right hand slowly lifted as he reached forward towards something in the air. Sigmund’s breath hitched once as he began to speak. “P…papej…” he whispered, before his arm fell limp. Thus, the Duke is dead. Long live the new Duke, Robert Audemar Ludovar. ༻⊰───────────────⊱༺ ⠀𓄿⠀༻⊰───────────────⊱༺ COAT OF ARMS OF DUKE SIGMUND _____ HIS GRACE, Sigmund Karl var Henrik-Otto Jakob Ludovic Duke of Kvasz, Count of Otistadt, Viscount of Sezwesk, Baron of Isaakev, Lizat, Juliksburg, & Mehran, Lord of Ricksburg & Brandzgard, Warden of Kareninas 1962 - 2032 aged 70 _____ Positions Held in Life: Lord Speaker of Hanseti-Ruska Deputy Palatine of Haense Palatial Kommissioner of Haense Lord Handler of the Royal Duma Sergeant of the B.S.K

His Grace, Sigmund Karl Ludovar, Duke of Kvasz, has fallen gravely ill. The long years of his life bears down heavily upon him, and though the physicians do all they can, his condition worsens with each passing day. And it is to that, the Ducal Family of House Ludovar opens its gates to any who wish to pay their respects and offer what may be final words to the Duke. Though his breath is faint and his voice weakened, his eyes remain open, tired and distant. His strength wanes by the hour. During these grim tidings, the Duchy remains steadfast under the guidance of the Duke’s son and heir, Robert Audemar Ludovar, and the affairs of Kvasz shall continue undisturbed. We ask for your prayers and goodwill in these uncertain hours. May Godani shine upon him and the House of Ludovar. ༻⊰───────────────⊱༺ ⠀𓄿⠀༻⊰───────────────⊱༺
  5. "Wait, two things. One, my daughter is married? Secondly, she is ALIVE?" Sigmund Ludovar, the Duke of Kvasz, states confused by the missive, "It would've been nice to know both things. Got a bird from this lad, sent a letter, yet nie response. What a terrible new and only son-in-law."
  6. The old Duke of Kvasz, Sigmund Ludovar, nods upon reading the missive before stating. "May Godani bless them with a good and prosperous life."
  7. Duke Sigmund of Kvasz sips his drink from his goblet as he reads the parchment. "The church excommunicated all the Canonist nations. Soon the tyranny will end, and we shall all see peace. And soon a separation of church from state may be seen once more."

  10. Sigmund Ludovar lofts a brow as he read the missive. "Bishop Casica spoke the truth about what is transpiring in this situation. It is a shame that Father Elim does niet see the same. May GODANI heal his mind and watch over all of Canondom as it faces our Holy Church’s warmongering with its Unholy League, which seeks to kill GODANI's followers. A league with only the Holy States and Numendil, who fight alongside non-canonists and those who commit banditry."
  11. Sigmund Ludovar reads the missive of his son, pure disappointment until he reads what was written in Neu Marian. "Smart, my son."
  12. Sigmund Ludovar nods upon reading the missive. "The truth is now out regarding this Canonist Church who has broken every Canon Law in our books. They attack all of Canondom with bandits and mercenaries. United in faith we stand for the separation between church and state. May GODANI grant us ultimate victory against those who wish to attack all of Canondom."

  18. As the news of Lady Milena’s passing reached Sigmund Ludovar, a faint smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. A brief, fleeting, before a sigh escaped him. He sat in silence, the weight of the revelation settling over him like a thick winter fog. His fingers drummed absently against the armrest of his chair as he stared into the dim candlelight, his mind adrift in contemplation. "So, it has finally come to an end." She had been his greatest rival, the one unyielding force that had obstructed his path to true prominence in Haense. Time and again, they had clashed with her decisions shaping his fate, her presence looming over his ambitions. She had made him question his life's purpose, even in things he had worked so tirelessly to achieve. And yet, with all the bitterness that lingered between them, he could not deny the thrill of their dance. A part of him had relished it—the struggle, the challenge, the battle of wills that kept them both sharp. He had anticipated many more years of this contest, a game of strategy played upon the board of Haeseni politics. But fate, it seemed, had other plans. "A shame," he murmured, leaning back with a contemplative expression. "I thought this dance would last another decade." There was no joy in this victory, no satisfaction to be found in an opponent bested by death rather than his own hand. For all she had taken from him, for all the resentment that festered between them, she had been a worthy adversary. Now, she was nothing more than a name in the annals of history—a story ended too soon.
  19. An Evolution of Arms: House of Ludovar ༻⊰───────────────⊱༺ ⠀𓄿⠀༻⊰───────────────⊱༺ In the annals of history, the coat of arms stands as a powerful emblem of identity, heritage, and aspiration. For House Ludovar, a noble lineage marked by valor, wisdom, and unity, the coat of arms has undergone a remarkable evolution, reflecting the journey and values of its founders through the ages. From its origins to the present day, each iteration of the coat of arms has held special significance, symbolizing the ideals and ambitions of its bearer. ༻⊰───────────────────────────────────────⊱༺ COAT OF ARMS OF PRINCE JAKOB | THE FOUNDER The first coat of arms of House Ludovar was crafted by its founder, Prince Jakob of Markev, a legitimized bastard son of King Stefan I ‘The Green Eyes’. The arms depicts a golden crow resting upon a hill, thus encapsulating his royal lineage. It serves as a powerful emblem of his identity and aspirations as a newly made noble head of house, dedicated to the well-being and advancement of his principality, that was bestowed upon him by his father. The coat of arms also carried significant symbolism, representing his aspirations and ambitions for future generations to advance upon the groundwork he had laid. Holders: Prince Jakob, Prince Otto, Princess Emma, & Prince James II COAT OF ARMS OF DUKE HENRIK The second coat of arms of House Ludovar was crafted by Duke Henrik of Kvasz. A distinguished Marian Knight, who had dedicated his life in service as a knight from the tender age of eighteen. The field bears the colors of black and white, representing Duke Henrik’s mother’s house of House Vyronov. A golden crow rises from a crown with gray wings, signifying the family’s heritage from Prince Jakob I of Markev, a legitimized bastard and founder of House Ludovar. Within its beak rests a ring, its emerald gem symbolizes the Ludovar green eyes bestowed upon them by King Stefan ‘The Green Eyes’. Holders: Duke Henrik, Duke Aleksandr COAT OF ARMS OF COUNT FREDRIK The third coat of arms of House Ludovar was crafted by Count Fredrik of Otistadt. He was well known to be a great swordsman with extensive military expertise and leadership. The field bears a resemblance to Duke Henrik’s arms, yet it is divided, with the newly made half featuring an armed soldier’s arm. It is with this addition that symbolizes Fredrik’s allegiance to the Northland Company, a group to which he served with great distinction. Holders: Count Fredrik COAT OF ARMS OF COUNT KAZIMAR The fourth coat of arms of House Ludovar was crafted by Count Kazimar of Otsitadt. He was best known for reforming the Ludovar Company of knights and merchandise within the markets of the realm, which resulted in the enrichment of the family. The field bears that of a golden crow, yet it ascends from a knight’s helmet. It is with this imagery that pays homage to the esteemed Ludovar Company, renowned for its valor and prowess. Set against a black field, the emblem exudes an aura of strength and nobility, reflecting the resilience and honor of the Ludovar lineage. Holders: Count Kazimar, Viscount Robert, Count Johann, Countess Adelle, Countess Emma, Count Henrik, Count Stanimar, Margrave Otto, & Duke Henrik-Otto. COAT OF ARMS OF DUKE SIGMUND The fifth coat of arms of House Ludovar was crafted by Duke Sigmund of Kvasz. He is currently best known for his military service and service within the government of Haense as its Lord Speaker. This coat of arms features the similar golden crow from Duke Henrik’s arms with the black-tipped wings emerging from a crown, again, symbolizing the family’s lineage to that of the legitimized bastard son from the Royal Family of House Barbanov. Within its beak is the ring with its golden gem, symbolizing the Ludovar green eyes. The gray background is patterned with white cross-like symbols, its colors representing the union of his grandparents that combined the cadet branch of Ludovar named Kvazyev. A black border adorned with golden diamonds frames the arms and pays tribute to his ancestry of both his mother’s family and noble forebears of Barbanov, creating a visual testament to the intertwined heritage and legacy of the Ludovar lineage. The reasoning behind it is that he has felt a divine calling to serve within the Holy Church of Canon instead, and it is there to which he shall look to take upon his vows to become a clergyman.
