  1. A sunlit elfess would sigh upon finding such a letter, shaking her head as she penned a response,

"Aspectism has been lost, for quite a time. Remnants of its practices remain, mostly in the form of Mani worshipping through the Wild Faith instead, but I am loyal to the sole religion I was raised on - just as you are devoutly loyal to your Mani, and your Creed. Our ancestors would be weeping, if they saw us attacking and slandering one another with such false accusations.

All of the information provided in these new writings by both Lady Illynora and myself, Avyndriel, is information we have gathered solely from historical documents. We have not changed, attempted to not erase, and instead regathered hundreds of documents into single articles to better centralise and revive the lost faith that we two elder Mali are so fond and loyal to. This includes the Creed Pact.

By no means are your Creeds required to follow such rules. We will simply, personally, deem them invalid Creeds, as the Creed Pact written by the Prophet of your own Creed dictated alongside Awaiti so long ago. We acknowledge that eras come and go, and so do the traditions - hence the adjustment to the rule on only elves being allowed to hold a valid oath. However, such rules can easily be amended for the modern era. A summit need only be called, for a peaceful discussion.

The accusations regarding my attempt to 'control' are incredibly hurtful, and wildly inaccurate. Aspectism and the Druidic Order are not co-dependent, and my work as a historian in these articles has nothing to do with the Order. Restoring the religion that I love, and seeking to spread it as it once was, is not an attempt at control.

The tenets I wished to restore for the Druidic Order have always existed, and the version that I brought forth at the last Druidic Moot were actually discussed and written by a collection of Archdruii and elder Druii from various circles. I was merely the one who spoke at the Moot. It was not some sole attempt to claim authority by installing rules I, myself, would be subject to the same as any other Druid.

Lady Illynora and myself will continue our work as historians and devout Aspectists. The purpose of our work is to revive our lost faith as it was. Of course, we are always open to discussion and adjustment for the modern age, and by no means are we the primary authority on a religion that was once so widely spread and upheld by our peoples. We are simply two elder Mali who lived through the prime era of this faith, and wish to restore its worship.

I was once close friends with the Buzzard, though it seems he seeks to only plaster my name with false accusations and slander since his reattunement. I do not know what has brought forth this change, and at no point has he ever attempted to seek me out and speak with me regarding his concerns, to gain an understanding of my perspective and actions. I once sought him out, seeking knowledge upon his unattunement from himself directly before I formed a final judgement. It is upsetting that he has consistently refused to grant me the same opportunity.

In conclusion, these Articles are simply restorations of a lost religion, drawing solely upon historical documents. We will always be open to discussion and revision, and even others seeking to contribute to such work, but seeking to tear our work down through the use of slander and disparaging our reputations is an incredibly poor way to seek progress."

Aspectism is the worship of and devotion to the Aspects and the Balance of the natural realm. While the Mani exist within Aspectism as servants of the Aspects, it does not involve the reverence of the Mani, as such customs are upheld by the Wild Faith. However, Aspectism and the Wild Faith may be followed simultaneously, for both serve the purpose of worshipping deific figures of the Eternal Forest, and the natural realm that they created and protect in unity.

    History of Aspectism

    Spoiler

    Age of the Aspects

In the era of Aegis, long after the era of Malin and before the discovery and revival of the Seeds and the Aspectist Faith, the first Druid arrived upon the Shore. Respiren Nox the Wayward brought with him the seeds that would become the elder trees, and the gifts of the natural world. Many would seek him out to hear his teachings and rise beside him as the first generation of Druii, though these Druids lacked structure and faith, and only served the balance of the natural world around them.

In time, Maiavel the Dawn Druid and Petyr the Salmon Druid would each develop the fellowship of the Druii into a structured organisation; bringing forth ranks and leadership within their Circle, alongside the rites of dedicancy and attunement. Even with the Druidic Order taking shape, the realm around them would soon begin to almost hold its breath in wait, drawing anticipation upon the Druii.

Suddenly, nature would begin to speak. Each Druid was granted peculiar dreams of mysterious figures born of nature itself who reached forth to connect with them through their gifts. The Aspects had begun to call upon their new children, risen by the Wayward Druid, and revealed themselves as the deities that had bestowed the gifts of nature.

Thus, the Age of the Aspects was ushered in, with Cerridwen and Cernunnos being embraced as the primary deities of the Druii. Many monikers and titles would be granted to each of them, soon followed by rites and rituals to utter prayers in their name; bringing forth the first revival of the Aspectist Faith since the era of Malin himself.

    Age of Decay

The Dominion of Malin fell in the later days of Atlas, and two warring states rose from its ashes. Aegrothond, the land of the Almenodrim, and Gladewynn, home of the Alderfolk. As the Dominion splintered, the Mali’ame people were split between these two nations. Aspectism was practised within Aegrothond, with seaglass mosaics depicting the Aspects and the Mani dotted around the seaside citadel of Arcas. Within Gladewynn, the Aspects began to lose their place, with the Alderfolk revering the boar and wolf Mani, Moccus and Morea.

True Aspectist worship among the Mali’ame of either state gradually faded and became lost to time, and the Mani rose to prominence. Even within the village of Siramenor, a Mali’ame settlement within the lands of Aegrothond, shrines to the Mani were in abundance and true reverence of the Aspects was a shadow of what it had once been at the height of the Dominion. Siramenor and Aegrothond eventually merged to form Elvenesse, but a few short years later, the Mali’ame population of Elvenesse re-splintered to form the separate settlement of Nevaehlen which exists to this day. While the Mali’ame of Nevaehlen undoubtedly know of the Aspects, their presence is diminished in favour of the Mani.

    Age of Revival

On the realm of Aevos, two elders from the era of the Dominion would eventually return and find the Aspects they once worshipped now mostly missing from the teachings of their younger kin. These elders were Lady Illynora Sylvaeri and Avyndriel Aurë'naerï Née Calithil, elfesses born to ancient Seeds who had now joined together to compile lost knowledge and histories upon the Aspectist Faith.

Their work would be greatly aided by the restructuring conducted by Lady Sonna Vulnrith of the Glade of Hileia, whom had already begun to bring back knowledge upon the Aspects and their prayers. By scouring through older scrolls and tomes, their work would eventually culminate in an attempt to revive the Aspectist Faith as it once was, bringing forth a new era of worship.

The Horned Lord | Father of Huntsmen | Aspect of the Primal Hunt

    Domain

Cernunnos is the lord of the hunt and primal world, often depicted as a fearsome, hooded man with horns and the skull of a stag. He is revered for instilling the necessity of the balance through the death and recycling of living matter. His duties are often witnessed in the primal instincts of predators as they stalk and hunt their prey, and the nourishment of dying fauna and flora upon the surrounding environment.

    Prayers

Cernunnos’ blessings are sought during rituals and prayers for huntsmen and warriors, before hunts and combat, and in mourning for lost lives.

    Prayers to both Aspects

Though Cerridwen and Cernunnos claim dominion over separate parts of the balance, their work often overlaps in a cohesive display of service and protection. Thus, some rituals are dedicated to both Aspects, to call upon their might and blessings in recognition of their union.

    Essence of War

A ritual for warriors preparing for battle, spoken after consuming a vial of boar’s blood, deemed the essence of Cernunnos.

       Common

“O’ Lord of Death, strengthen my arm

In our time of need, I beg you to come to your people’s aid.

As we remember you in all our earthly troubles.

Benevolent mother, wipe fear from my heart

Never abandoning your children, always tender,

Preserve me that I may see my children and yours live,

I place my trust in you to hold my life from the end.”

    Prayer of Fortitude

A ritual for those seeking strength of mind and soul, spoken with the offering of one’s braid of hair or drop of blood.

      Common

    Whispers of the Third

Though her name was crudely blasted across the realm of Almaris, upon the rise of the Mori, The Third remains a topic of private, quietened discussion. Such is the way to truly honour this figure, and thus any writings on her may only be found in the darkest corners of elven libraries, tucked away for the truly devoted to find.

    The Three Tenets

After the schisms of the children of Malin, Irrin Sirame emerged to guide the faithful of Malin’s kin into the forests to adapt pure, natural lifestyles as the Aspects had originally intended. These elves and their Seeds would eventually bow to the guidance of the druidic dragaar Taynei’hiylu, a creature in direct service to the Aspects themselves, who became their prophet and dictated the three tenets of Aspectism.

    I. Prayer and Offering

“Always worship the mother and father. Hold them dear to your heart. Have their names upon your lips when you experience fortune, and pray to them when you face suffering. Leave offerings, material or symbolic, before their sacred fire.”

The first tenet of Aspectism is that of worship to the Aspects themselves. Such worship not only honours the deities that created the natural realm, but also honours the memory of Malin himself, who held the Aspects in close reverence.

Offerings are thus granted at Aspectist shrines; altars nestled beneath statues or depictions of the Lord and Lady with a burning brazier for sacrifice. Offerings are placed either within bowls of water or flames whilst prayers are spoken, seeking boons and blessings from the Mother and Father in times of need, or to show thankfulness with achievements.

    bp-K-MIDVNzzzwgwgx4eWdxYxFCkJbH5kb97cnPIjBCrtnQ_gbs-QmFECOIlgS7vGJ7iLCZwfEs8kDDUm0MEaqGcteJTjsgT7iA4kj5D4WrAwfp7MYZbQIthZd2VUw8NuT0Ed5pXETMjXqOrhYvtrWY

    II. Bodily Purity

“There exist powers pulled into this world from other plains. Taint not your body with these arcane corruptions, for the veil between the void and the Aspect’s realm is fragile. Taint not your body with the afflictions of the undead or the cursed, for their very nature defies the balance of the wild.”

During her address to the Aspectist Seeds, Taynei’hiylu delivered warnings against the arts of the Void, the Dark, and the Corrupt. She spoke of the disastrous effects it could have upon the world the Aspects had cultivated; that the veil between the mortal plane and the void, if permanently broken, could swallow up the world entirely.

Taynei’hiylu decreed that to be a true Aspectist is to abstain from the Void, the Dark, and the Corrupt. To do what is necessary to stop its spread upon the natural realm, and purge its taint and blight from the living.

Bodily Purity is thus - to keep your soul and form pure of otherworldly taint, though some Aspectist Creeds take this ideal of purity even further.

    bp-K-MIDVNzzzwgwgx4eWdxYxFCkJbH5kb97cnPIjBCrtnQ_gbs-QmFECOIlgS7vGJ7iLCZwfEs8kDDUm0MEaqGcteJTjsgT7iA4kj5D4WrAwfp7MYZbQIthZd2VUw8NuT0Ed5pXETMjXqOrhYvtrWY

    III. Upholding the Balance

“Be you gentle like the Mother, or fierce like the Father, always remember that as an Aspectist, your duty is to the wild. Warriors, take up arms against that which threatens it. Healers, nurture it so it may run its natural course. Everyone must submit themselves to live with the ebb and flow of the cycle of life.”

To uphold the Balance is to live in reverence and respect of the natural world and its delicate ecosystems, though this service can be as simple or as grand as the Aspectist wishes. A more intense follower could actively hunt magicians of dark arts and the void, whilst others might simply take care in not over hunting or overfarming.

Aspectists must thus be consistently aware of how their actions may outwardly affect the world around them, both presently and for the coming future. They must respect the natural fauna and flora, and be accepting of death as it approaches, as is the natural course of life.

    The Balance

    The Balance of Nature

The balance of nature is most often described as a scale in which everything must be equally distributed at all times. When prey flourish, predators cull. When weeds grow, grass withers. When the light of the sun fades, the light of the moon emerges.

To describe this balance as a two-way scale, in regards to Cerridwen and Cernunnos being of life and death respectively, is an incorrect portrayal. In truth, such a balance is so consistently interwoven with the world around it that aiding or adjusting even one aspect could have unknown results on the surrounding realm. It would be more apt to compare the balance to a web, with each individual part adding to and affecting a variety of factors around it.

Thus, seeking to uphold and maintain the balance is not as simple as keeping everything as it is. The balance is everflowing, everchanging; pulsing akin to the tide. To uphold the balance is to be malleable and evolving, and to reflect this in one’s duties and understanding of the natural realm. Something that may have worked a decade ago may not have the same results in the modern day.

    The Tayna

“Tayna. The soul of life. It is the living energy that contains all.”

The Tayna is the living energy that encompasses all natural, living entities. It exists within flora and fauna, connected and interwoven, and capable of being manipulated by the Aspects themselves. We see their work within the passage of this energy from a dying elk to the surrounding flora, nourishing and enriching the soil with new life and nutrients.

The Tayna, within Awaiti Sirame’s writings “The Scroll of the Tayna”, is said to be capable of being harmed just the same as any descendant—but also of healing, and growing. We see this occur in the cities that are constructed, which wound the earth through the extraction of minerals and resources, and the growth of flora as it overtakes those cities after they have been abandoned, creating new habitats and homes for a variety of fauna.

Druids themselves, those attuned to the natural realm, are capable of glimpsing the Tayna through the art of Greensight. Such a gift grants them a vision of this pulsing, natural energy that flourishes where nature is abundant, and withdraws where natural, living matter cannot be found.

    Taynei’hiylu

Taynei’hiylu, the Transcendent Druid and Dragaar of the Aspects, was the first to dictate the three tenets of Aspectism itself during the first Omentahu (gathering of the Seeds).

When the Elven people split, and Irrin Sirame led the ‘ame into the firsts to resume the worship of the Aspects as Malin had originally intended, Taynei’hiylu walked among them in the form of a descendent. She sought to unify the various Seeds under one code of faith, bringing forth the three tenets that continue to serve to this day as the pillars of the Aspectist faith.

She herself came into the service of the Aspects when she was rescued by them during a battle against Azdromoth himself, claimed by the earth and born anew as the Transcendant Druid. Currently, she slumbers within the Eternal Forest under the protection of the Aspects themselves, alongside the Demi-Aspect Owl and a handful of other elder druii.

One of the Vale's Vigilants - their guiding elders - would perk a brow upon reading this missive,

"I understand this is coming from those we have brought forth to aid in our defences against the Harrowers, but I do not understand how they are making these large statements without addressing the rest of us? I do not recall anyone seeking a moot among us elders, nor among the Vale as a whole?"

The sunlit elfess would scratch her head, hoping these lack of communications wouldn't have dire consequences on the rest of her community unaffiliated with such events. She turned then to her luminous companion, offering the missive across @Candle

  5. Eventually, such news would find its way to a lone, travelling elfess with peculiar, pale eyes. The elfess would find privacy after hearing the whispers; her gaze shifting to blank orbs as she merely stood in some dark alleyway processing what she had heard.

She recalled the warmth and acceptance she had been shown, in her era as a changeling. Her chaotic antics that had brought joy and laughter to the Guild upon Arcas - the chair that she had morphed herself into, to scare the Divadri Apprentice's child.

She recalled all she had learnt from him. Her alchemical prowess, the discovery of the nature of her soul, and how such had aided her in stabilising her own mind. She owed much to the man, who had only ever shown her kindness, and even in his own esteemed brilliance had never once shamed or shunned her limited knowledge in comparison.

She would mourn her oldest, dearest friend. No longer comforted by the thought that one day, they would cross paths once again. Loneliness would tighten its grasp upon her heart.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Druidic Communion

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Druidic Communion is the very base magic for all Druidic Magics + Feats. In order to possess such a magic, a character must first undergo a dedicancy with a mentor before finally being attuned to the natural realm itself through a vision of trials. Once attuned, the character is capable of hearing the 'voices' of nature all around them - often described as some sort of melody or song, with each voice adding to the harmony. Newly attuned Druids will find this song quieter, and perhaps discordant at first, as they struggle to get used to the noise and learn to better understand it.

In order to access the additional magics and feats available to Druids, they must first reach Tier 3 in Druidic Communion. Tier 4 enables the Druid to submit a TA in order to connect and teach other dedicants, and Tier 5 grants them access to feats such as Transcendence and Shifting. Druidism is also incompatible with Azdromoth Heraldry, Deity Magics, and Dark Arts unless they are unattuned first. Voidal Magics may be learnt, but will weaken and eventually remove a Druid's connection.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Druidic Communion is split into three primary categories, Control, Communion, and Infusion.

    Communion

Communion is the core of Druidic Magics itself - for without the ability to connect to and converse with the song of nature, a Druid is incapable of making requests or utilising its energy. Through time and practice, a freshly attuned Druid will be capable of strengthening their connection to nature to not only hear the song itself, but to also discern different voices within it - enabling the Druid to focus on specific flora or fauna around them.

    Communion Abilities -

    Communion, T1 | Tuning, T2 | Beastspeak, T3 | Empathy, T4 | Singing, T4 | Greensight, T4 | Luonto, T5

    Control

With Communion learnt, comes Control - the ability to make requests of the natural world, even though it may not always fulfill the Druid's wishes. Once the Druid has learnt to effectively listen to and communicate with nature, they may begin to make requests of the flora around them, or perhaps persuade an animal to listen or conduct a specific activity. This method of requesting works akin to a barter of sorts - storing a favor, or making one, with the natural realm. For this reason, elder Druids are often more convincing to nature due to their history of servitude.

    Control Abilities -

    Growth, T2 | Surge, T3 | Gleaning, T3 | Ungrowing, T4 | Entling Creation, T5 |

    Infusion

The last Druidic subtype, Infusion is the art of drawing upon one's energies themselves in order to imbue or channel them to complete a specific purpose. This may involve granting one's energies to another Druid to serve almost as a 'battery' for their casting to stave off the exhaustion that may come from greater feats. Otherwise, it is often used for the growth of replacement limbs, 'enchanting' of Druidic spells into natural objects through the harnessing of such energy, or for the attunement or unattunement of Druii themselves.

    Infusion Abilities -
    Powersharing, T3 | Druidic Limb, T3 | Attunement, T4 | Unattunement, T4 | Druidic Infusion, T5 | Singing Trees, T5

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

    [Gleaning, T5 - Passive Communion]

The sunlit elfess would seat herself before the pale tree, inhaling gently as she drew her focus toward the voice that sung outwards, in the midst of the natural choir echoing around her. Her golden gaze would narrow; that golden aura beginning to idly leak down her cheeks akin to tears - dripping from her chin, and dissipating into a fine mist. Her desire for a sapling would be woven forth, communicated to the tree in kindness with the imagery of a simple, two-leafed sprig.

With the request made, her hands would move toward a nearby root of the tree, creating a loose cup with her palms and fingers. The tree would eventually respond in kind - the bark gently crackling as a small green stem began to grow from beneath. It would stretch upwards in between her hands, growing steadily before the stem began to separate; one leaf, then two, flicking out from the center.

With the sapling's growing coming to completion, the elfess would bow her brow to the root, and glide her fingers around the sprig's stem. Slowly, gently, would the root loose its child until it was drawn into her grasp with a few delicate roots trailing behind. The elfess would impart her thanks, rising and turning to wander off through the forest in search for a home for the new sapling.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

    [Surge, T3 - Student Lesson]

"Now. Today, we are going to learn Growth - the process of growing flora. We'll focus on flowers today. Nice and simple" the sunlit elfess would pace around her student, motioning for them to sit in front of a small, frail sprout.

The student would nod in response, falling silent in focus as they sought to connect to the melody around them. Soon enough, a vibrant green glow would emit from their palms; indicating that they were actively communed to the surrounding environment. [Connection]

"Alright.. Now, focus upon the sprout and seek its voice in the midst of the song." her instructions began in a gentle voice, kneeling slightly behind and to the side of her student as she sought to observe without being interruptive.

Again, the student would nod - only this time, their nods were slowed and heavily distracted. Instead, they began to search through that surrounding melody for the voice of the flower sprig alone. Soon enough, such a voice would be found, and the young Druid began to commune with it directly. [1/6 - Communing]

"Now.. It needs to be granted energy, so that it might grow. It might take some time to grow properly.. You are still young, and your energies still weak" again, the elfess' words were uttered gently, quietly.

Her student wouldn't nod this time, instead their brow began to furrow as they focused on drawing upon their own internal energies, seeking to focus them toward their right hand - which soon neared the small sprout in preparation. [2/6 - Guiding]

Avyn would remain silent in her observation, allowing the young Druid to work.

[!] Soon enough, the Druid would seek to guide the little sprout into growing - offering forth their own energies for it to feed upon to conduct this process. Still, they drew more forth, as if almost hand-feeding the plant itself through those growing green palms. Slowly, steadily, the sprout would respond - gradually straightening a touch and turning a darker green as it began the steady process of growth. [3/6 - Beginning to Grow]

[!] A gentle chuckle would escape the teaching elfess at her student's motions, though she soon pressed a hand over her mouth to quieten herself.

The Student, fortunately, would be far too invested in their current work to make note of their teacher's muffled chuckles. Instead, their focus remained set on the sprout before them, continuing to feed their energy forth as the stem began to separate on one side. Eventually, a leaf would sprout outwards; not quite unraveled just yet. [4/6 - Beginning to Grow]

The elfess' gaze would brighten, tilting her head in approval and pride of her student's success thus far!

[!] The sprout's growth would continue, climbing to thrice its original height and beginning the formation of a small green bud. At this point, the young Druid's brow had begun to bead with sweat; their expression tensing as they sought to complete the task at hand. [5/6 - Continued Growth]

"You are almost there.. A little more, now" the elfess reassured her student, her smile growing wider.

[!] Sure enough, the bud would grow larger and lighter in hue.. until the outer layers peeled away; unraveling to loose several petals that remained relatively vertical and closely-knit. A white tulip now bloomed before the pair, basking in the light of the sun. The student's brow had begun to glisten at this point, wet with perspiration. [6/6 - Continued Growth]

"Mar'ayla! You have done fantastic work, congratulations!" the sunlit elfess beamed, gently tugging upon her student's sleeve to encourage them with her own excitement.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

At first, I would simply seek to correct them in looc, and explain what they did wrong and why that wouldn't work, to help them better understand. If I heard about the incident from someone else after they were taught a spell, I would reach out to the student to again correct and explain what they did wrong, and encourage them to fix any consequences of that RP if need be.

If the situation was more dire, and I found the student unwilling to cooperate, I would reach out to an ST to get a formal ruling and explanation, and show it to the student to reaffirm that my instructions / corrections were correct. If such situations continue, I would find myself forced to drop the student from my TA.

  8. A small update on this thread-

I have completed 16 characters thus far, but unfortunately have fallen into an art burnout for the time being. I am unsure when I will be ready to resume this work, and have not collected mina from those still waiting for their sketches, but will reach out in the future if I find myself ready to pick them up once more!

I am so very sorry for this, I definitely overestimated what I could handle according to my IRL schedule / art motivations, and that is my fault and mistake. In the future I will cap myself much lower - this is definitely a lesson learnt.

I have already placed my proper Commissions on hiatus, and am currently only completing occasional sketches of my own characters etc. to try and work through the burnout and get back in the swing of things, though I cannot determine when I will be ready.

Again, I am very very sorry for this holdup! I will be in touch with you all directly when I am ready once again (if you are still interested, of course!) @AnimeWolf0080 @Aimy_lol

In the original write it's explained that they have the muscles and such in their compositionion but they're made of plant matter, with a psudoskin entirely similar to regular skin just “tougher.”

Maybe obsession was the wrong word on my part, they're just meant to care more for plants and druids.

Wasn't a problem and never has been until players were changing their characters to be unusually short or tall, which is why I removed those features. I literally had Creamys friends flat out tell me he made the submission as a meme and it got passed. If anything if the wacky shit is a concern it should be for transcendence too. Why can they have animal features and not be regarded but druids who are treelords get backlash for having a pseudo body like clones? In which case this is the wording to cover transcendances back which I am more than happy to add to my own write is -”Don’t use the mental/physical effects to break ToS server rules.”

Thank you for clarifying the physical composition!

I agree with your points about FTB + Transc being passed w that specific redline. I think the only difference I would point out is that with Transc, your character is still a mortal with their own mind etc. who has additional effects, whereas with Treelords your character's soul and entire existence has been altered. With that in mind, I could again see asexual companionships existing, but understand the argument against FTB (They're plants).

But again, if your redlines are cutting away the potential for problematic FTB, I don't see why it should be anyone's concern or business. They shouldn't hear about it or see it anyhow.

  11. Can we see an addition of soulbind mechanics to the current combat rules? The accepted practice is that anything soulbound cannot be taken from inventories etc. (imagine thieving / banditry rp situations), but there is no actual mention of this rule in the rules themselves. I believe the only place that soulbind mechanics are mentioned at all are in MArt guidelines.

Would also like to know how this translates to RP - if something cannot be taken because it is soulbound, but it is currently being used in an RP situation, why are characters unable to remove it from their person?

    Physiology

A Treelords form is teetering between the realms of mortal and fae, a husk that is torn between both worlds. They would appear fae like in nature, still possessing a form akin to the descendant race they were prior to transformation. Retaining body shape, height, and similar features of the race they were before transformation. However, they would perhaps find skin like bark, eyes like the slits of a wildcat, plants and vines sprouting from them, or the horns of an elk curling from their skull. Their forms vary widely in appearance - however - they  always take  on the form of nature itself, an embodiment of what they seek to protect.

Given the affliction of their changed bodies, they will find themselves comfortable with natural aspects of life, this being warmth, the cold, and various temperatures, easily adapting to the change. Without a balance of natural elements, however, they would find they begin to dry up in extreme heat and slowly stiffen in extreme cold tempatures.

They are unable to lose consciousness- their brains perhaps functioning rather strangely, and instead finding that concussive forces cause immense wounds and may daze the Treelord, allowing for their capture; awake and alive to suffer until the literal end.

Their form is built to retain-peak condition and a fit muscle structure, unable to be weakened by natural disease, only falling ill when the injury or condition inflicted is Blight.. Thus, alchemical altercations would no longer take effect, temporary and permanent potions both wasted and no longer working. Their sap is thicker than blood so they bleed at a slower rate, and their skin a leather like in strength, but able to be split and splintered like wood.

When the husk is killed it begins to wither , turning into an ash or mulch like substance that fertilizes the ground.

I'm not a big lore-reader unless its implemented, so forgive me if I've missed anything that explains what I'm about to point out-

On the topic of Treelord Physiology, and FTB concerns by extension:

What exactly are treelord husks made out of? What I have quoted above doesn't really state whether their bodies are flesh, bone, and muscle with sap for blood, or if their bodies are just moving trees with the appearance / texture of flesh and muscle? In addition, how exactly does a tree spit out a skeleton + flesh husk, in the first place? Is it simply treelord magic? I think it would be nice to have some explanation on how a plant is capable of doing that.

In regards to the FTB concerns - I don't really understand why FTB should be a concern, if the players aren't doing wacky ass shit.. But again, you can't really keep an eye on those things or trust a community to be normal either. I could understand FTB being redlined in regards to the Treelord being obsessed with nature and being.. quite literally a plant - in the case of their husks being made of tree rather than skeleton/flesh. Plants don't fornicate. Why would they have sexual desires or interests? I could understand some form of asexual companionship, but not sexual interests.

I would like to trust people not to be weirdos with their FTB, but the entire lotc community has proven time and time again that they can't be trusted, unfortunately. Might be for the better, with this one.

  13. A pale, honey-eyed elfess would scoff at the missive, tossing it aside as a balled up scrap of waste soon after,

"Gawh. How gaudy this is, for such an apparently official proclamation. I cannot take this missive seriously, with the ridiculous curls and swirls galore. It does ne suit the aesthetic of 'Overlord'."

I have seen many debates over discords, many torn thoughts about the infamous Bandit roleplay.

I want to know what is good bandit roleplay?

What makes it fun to bandit or be bandited?

    What makes it less interactive?

I like that bandit rp forces you to take risks, it makes you have to venture out and interact with people who might end your persona. I made friends by being a bandit while playing my goblin and I will not forget them who I had great rp with.

Being bandited is not so fun from what I have heard. I think a conversation about it could be useful to highlight the good and bad about banditing.

I believe conversations about these topics can help to shed light on the pains associated with them so that the climate can improve as well as the moderation/rules surrounding them.

I began this discussion, over the past day or two. My issues were with the lack of Soulbinds existing as a rule for RP interactions - because I have been told by a GM that a soulbound item cannot be taken or thieved from someone's inventory or hand. So then how does it translate to RP? Does it just magically not leave their hand, ever?

It needs a proper rule put in place, rather than some vague community say-so without any actual rule mention.

  15. A pale, honey-eyed elfess would click her tongue in disappointment, folding up a missive found in the midst of her wanderings,

"There are often accusations of such a nature thrown about, especially among Magi. But for one to claim to be dark themselves, accusing another, and further absolving her council? It is a more trustworthy testimony than most."

A bitter smile would creep across her lips,

"Ambition and greed creates the worst of us. I saw much potential in you - it is a shame you cannot even mask your own affairs. I did tell you, Yera."

    "Watch yourself, Girl."

  16. I am glad this is in place. However, I am also disappointed.

These exact rules have been requested time and time again, on multiple threads discussing the nature of NSFW art and how it should be managed and limited. It took the creation of a problematic Discord Server dedicated to NSFW Art, posted on the main LotC Discord as @Werew0lf stated, for these rules to be implemented.

This is definitely a step forward, but should have occurred sooner.

    * Please note - All this texture pack does is remove textures from any blocks that aren't 'living'. Anything else is turned completely black, unable to be recognised. The skybox remains normal, but if anyone knows how to remove those textures I'd love to do that as well!

    ^ Example ^

It is absolutely very janky, but I figured I'd share in case anyone wanted to use it,

or use it as inspiration for a proper Greensight texture pack!

    - Stripped Wood cannot be seen. It is commonly used in houses / buildings, and realistically lacks life force

    - Normal Wood can be seen, however it is not always used for trees. It is up to you to RP whether you can sense it or not depending on what the wood has been used for build-wise

    - Signs have been left for OOC purposes (ST Signs etc.)
    - All inventory icons remain normal, and items held in your hand are also normal

Let me know if I've missed anything, or if you think something should be added/removed!

Credit to @Dry Crackersfor the original idea + texture pack!

A shorter elfess with paled honey eyes would find her vision quickly engulfed in bright, shimmering green. Plumes of pastel smog erupted from her frame akin to a small explosion; excitement jittering through her bones.

"It has been far too long, Uncle."

  20. "Unity? I believe the war he mongered is referred to as the 'Silver Subjugation', and all they took was an empty village. Nevaehlen does ne, nor ever did, reside in his grasp. The land perhaps, but not the people or its culture."

A tall, sunlit elfess would scoff in amusement, turning to a nearby elfess with glowing skin,

"Besides, friendships are already being reformed between the Sea and Wood. The 'Ame have simply always preferred to keep away from the 'Thilln due to their unnecessarily antagonistic social hostility. Even if an elven Empire formed, it would not last forever. It never does."

[[ I am aware it is Kalenz mentioned, not Kolvar. This is an IRP response. ]]
