The county of Falinesti Ulwnis Nightshade, the count of Falinesti looked out over the map of Tamriel displayed across the table. On it, he could see that the Altmer had expanded to a massive degree and that they were now well and truly an empire. For now, it seemed the empire was consolidating its holdings but he knows that soon the Altmer would refocus their attention on Valenwood. That would be most unfortunate but for now, he would take advantage of the peacetime measures and increase the development of Falninesti. If they were to win this war he would need to have the best soldiers, not the most. This would help with Valenwood's environment. The environment made large field battles hard to accomplish and having an effective fighting force was much more important. Still, the numbers that the Altmer could employ were worrying. He looked across the table to the four commanders gathered around it. These were the officers of the new guard, trained in the military academy and ruthless as well as loyal to him. All of them were now looking at the map with varying degrees of worry. Then one of the officers spoke. " My Lord and my fellow good sirs. We are faced with the issue of an encroaching Altmer army and how we can deal with them. I am confident in a fight between our foot soldiers. The environment favors infantry and the Altmer have been reported to mainly rely on light infantry for their armies. Our Heavy Infantry will have no problem taking them down but the main problem we will be facing are the mages of the Altmer." Ulwnis and the other officers nodded at this. They knew of the information and knew what their weaknesses and strengths were, and magic was one of their weaknesses. They did not have a dedicated military academy and honestly, most of the officers were a little paranoid about them. The problem was that they needed a way to eliminate the enemy mages from the field. Ulwnis then interjected. " Indeed Commander, the mages will be the biggest issue we will face in the coming war. We can always improve our infantry qualities to make sure we can absolutely obliterate the enemy but the mages remain a significant issue. To me, it seems that the best option would be to either train the Rangers in anti-mage warfare or create a dedicated anti-mage force of sharpshooters. Personally, I prefer the latter option, it would cost more resources, yes but it would mean they are more effective at that particular task while the Rangers can focus on their other specialties." The rest of the officers gathered agreed with the assessment. Then came the issue which military high command was divided about. "The real question we are faced with is if we should attack the Altmer or wait for the Altmer to attack us. Being on the defense means that in the short term we will have the advantage, draining a large amount of the Altmer armies and in the long-term draining their morale." "However, the Altmer have great numbers and can afford to lose ten troops for every one we lose. So this plan has its disadvantages. The other plan is to commit a pre-emptive strike and take out the Altmer puppet government. The advantage of this plan is that if successful any Altmer naval invasions can easily be repelled." "The problem with this plan, however, is that if this war is not ended in less than a year it will give the Altmer the opportunity to easily push us back into our territory with high losses. In this plan, a large reliance on our spies in the province is needed. They will need to make sure we can stealthily enter the territory of the Altmer puppet government and enter their capital city without resistance. That plan is risky but it also provides the greatest reward. Though this plan also depends on the number of defenders the Altmer have stationed. " A young officer then spoke "I say that if the numbers in the Altmer colony are inferior to our own we will attack them. Make use of the spies to open the gates and use their intel to swiftly crush the Altmer there. We should also invest more in our counter-intelligence operation to avoid any information of this leaking to the Altmer or to avoid such a thing happening to us." To which an older officer interrupted. "Yes attack them with all our forces and leave our own territory lightly defended with merely light infantry. Whilst a naval invasion is hard any Altmer revolts in our territory or Altmer ships manage to deposit its troops on our shores we will have a hard time driving them off. I say we let the Altmer waste their energy and troops and attack us. Slowly bleed them out and take them down. " Ulwnis frowned at this, both ideas had merit, he then spoke. "We will wait until our spy reports start flowing in next year, once the information is given to us we can formulate a tactic on that. Until then investments will be put in textile mills so that we have more resources available to us and into a university to improve our technological progress. " None of the officers were totally happy with this but agreed with it nonetheless. They would see in time if their plans would be successful. Actions 8ap is spent on building more textile mills. The Federal Republic of Mexico Domestic Education: - (see diplomacy, the exchange between countries) - Some of the best teachers and professors in Mexico (as well as some teachers and professors in America who are invited) gather in one of the Universities of Mexico City to discuss a new curriculum for the primary and High schools of Mexico. The hope is that this meeting will result in a better curriculum being created which help the students learn better. -More High Schools and Primary schools are built across the country so that all of the Mexican children can have a good and proper education. Business: - (see diplomacy, investment into South Africa) - Industrial development is further subsidized by the Mexican government. Making starting your own industry a lot easier than before. Again hopefully making sure that more industrial companies are started, which causes more competition and forces all of the companies to compete for who can make the most profit and force them to innovate. -Amongst the media, a new attitude is encouraged amongst certain programs. A belief that anyone can achieve whatever they desire if they work for it hard enough. A belief that even a boy born to the poorest parents in Mexico can with enough hard work and intelligence become a factory owner or the boss of a multinational business. The hope is that this attitude will encourage the people to work harder. -If there are any remaining funds left in the budget for the year the infastructure in Mexico is improved. Or more specifically the number and quality of Highways would be improved. Research - The ever continuous research into a better industry in Mexico continues. This time it is focused on making machines that work just as effective as current ones but is a lot cheaper to make. Hopefully speeding up the speed of industrialization in Mexico. -Research is done on making what is said to be 'an aircraft designed to comfortably transport large amounts of people between countries' ((Commercial airlines)) the hope is that these aircraft can improve the amount of travel between countries. This is based on the jet engine technology of the GPP Counter-Intelligence: -The DIA is tested on how effective it is. This is done by letting the DIA attempt to keep the Commercial airlines project classified as a test. In the project 10 'infiltrators' will try and infiltrate the project. These infiltrators will act as if they are spies from the USA, Britain, and France. The DIA are ordered to capture any infiltrators and under no circumstances were to use lethal measures. The infiltrators would have subtle details that would indicate that they were spies. These would be tiny, something in their actions which might indicate they were spies. The hope is that the DIA would manage to capture all 10 of the infiltrators Military Diplomacy: -Mexico joins the Global Prosperity Pact. With President Gonalez stating that by getting closer ties with the Americans and more economic developments between the two nations it would reduce the chance of war and it would help bring more prosperity to the people of Mexico. -A decent investment is put into the South African Mining industry. This is to increase the influence Mexico has on the sourcing of raw goods into Mexico as well as generally hoping that this will create more profit. -On top of that, the Mexican embassy proposes that there will be several exchange programs between Mexico and South Africa. Especially among university students between both countries. The hope of this is that the students will mutually learn more by seeing another take on education as well as getting to know the other culture better. Agerian Commonwealth Sergeant Hugh Silva took a good look around the military base of the planet of Cadia. From where he stood he could easily see the large amounts of soldiers training, some training to use Power armor others training in the use of dragonsnake armor. Hugh had not seen any recruitment to this scale before nor had others of the military. The size of the military was going to be nearly doubled, this was to be done so as to send forces to the Redon Imperium for the coming crusade. The Redon had called his banners and thus the men of the Agerian Commonwealth answered. Hugh himself worried about what was going to happen. He knew that the ships of the commonwealth were generally not advanced and neither was the power armor. Still, they would need to make with what was due and battles had been won with worse equipment. However, Hugh was interrupted from his mental ponderings by his friend Timothy, though this time he was in official military gear, he also took a look at the men training and spoke gravely. " Here they are, men volunteering to fight in the military, volunteering to go to war. I wonder how many of them will come back once they leave for war" Hugh could only nod in agreement. He himself had signed up for the military to protect his nation and the galaxy from threats yet he knew the risks involved in doing this as did most professional soldiers. The problem was that this would be the first battle for most of them. The military of the Commonwealth had nearly no real combat experience. All they had were simulations and wargames. No real war in which they would fight against opponents with probably better tech than they had. "I honestly do not know Timothy. It depends on what kind of battlefield we are deployed and in which situation we will get. Several hundred could die or several thousand. But knowing the Ar'Garkri it is safe to assume that there will be high casualties." To this Timothy nodded and the two men stood there in silence as they looked down. Neither sure of what they should say. But the choice was made for them when Hugh got a message on his comms to bring himself to the General's office. The county of Falinesti Ulwnis looked out to the bed in front of him with something that had merely been the talk of speculation for most. As most of the servants, soldiers, and people of Falinesti, in general, had only seen Ulwnis with a stern look. Ulwnis had a smile on his face. He looked down to the bed with white linen stained with some blood as the nurses held the twin babies that his wife had birthed him. To him, he had not ever seen two children as beautiful as these. Though it was not a surprise that he had children born to him. His wife, Ulwnis shivered at thinking of her a little, to put things lightly she liked to do it a lot. Still, it brightened his generally cold heart to see his children there, crying loudly indicating that they were of good health. Ulwnis could not help but grin and feel the best he had since he had been a child. Just enjoying the moment and thinking of how he could best spend time with his children. But then after he got a moment of joy the grim reality of life set in. He would not have a future for his children if the Altmer took over all of Valenwood and ruled it under their dominion. They would at best be allowed to live their lives in peace as commoners though the far more likely and disturbing option would be that the Altmer would execute them as well as his wife. Ulwnis clenched his fists at this. Realizing that he would need to win this war. He would need to stomp the Altmer out of Valenwood before they could create too much of a foothold. Once that damned colony of there was taken over by him he could easily hold his coast and prevent naval invasions from the Altmer. But to do that many other things would need to fall into place first. Thus as Ulwnis though of how to defeat the Altmer, he took a final proud glance at his children before going to the war room to create a brighter future for these two bright stars. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And as two stars were born into the world another two died. Delroth Willowdale clenched his fists as he looked at the corpses of two of his friends. Delroth had been a soldier of Falinesti, serving to help lord Ulwnis succeed in his Coup. But now he and his comrades sat in the shitty confines of the Gulags of Falinesti. The lord that they had brought to power had betrayed them. Shifting his trust to a younger generation, a generation of green indoctrinated fools. The purge had begun with some animosity between the two generations. Lord Ulwnis had been sure to separate the old and new guard from each other. As they were enjoying life and having fun whilst the new guard were all too serious, paranoid and all seemed to have sticks up their arses. Looking back on it the signs were clear. With some brief profiling being done to see who of the old guard were salvageable and not drunk and partying. Though Delroth supposed he had been too drunk to notice any of these things. Then he remembered the executions, he was just peeing outside in the bushes when he saw a group of new guard enter the barracks. They left with all the men in the barracks who had still been recovering from a booze-filled night. Then one of them with a metal greatsword cut of the necks of many of his friends and companions. As they had no way to escape, as their necks were forced down onto chopping blocks he was forced to watch his friends die. He fled but was soon caught by the new guard. Then it seemed Lord Ulwnis had interfered, stopping the new guard from massacring the old guard further. No rather that son of a **** had put them into these work camps, gulags he called them and gulags these pits of despair came to be known ass. Here they were fed properly yes but the treatment of them was cruel and they had to do incredibly hard work. At the end of the day, everyone was dead tired after having done a day of work and were forced to their barracks only to work another day. His two friends had been working one day when a man forgot to yell timber when he felled a tree and the trunk crashed into their legs. They could not move but had been recovered from the tree and they survived the fall of the tree. What they did not survive however was the executioner's blade. Being determined by the Camp officer to be a waste of food the both of them were brough to the choppin block and their heads were seperated from them. Now Delroth watched the corpses of what were once his friends and turned away. With a few tears in his eyes but his eyes furious. The Federal Republic of Mexico Domestic Education: -Several universities are constructed and funded across the country by the federal government. The hope is that this will increase the amount of highly trained experts in the society of Mexico. This will hopefully result in making Mexico a more developed country. Corruption: -A final anti-corruption campaign is done in Mexico. Or more specifically in the Parliament and cabinet of Mexico as well as other minor areas. This is to help increase the people's trust in the government as well as possibly making the legislative machine of the nation work more efficiently and making sure it is not clogged up by corruption. Business: -Seeing as the unemployment scheme was successful in how it was organized and designed but previously had a lack of funds more funds are pumped into the project. The hope is that with this unemployment can quickly increase and that the general prosperity of Mexico will increase. -President Gonalez wishes to improve the industry of Mexico. He aims to do this by subsidizing start-up companies which are involved in the industrial sector as well as largely lowering taxes in many industrial sectors. Hoping that this will result in more industrial companies developing or already existing businesses expanding. This would hopefully result in creating a manufacturing business that can at least partially compete with the American industrial machine. Research - More research is done into developing industrial advancements in Mexico. More specifically research is done to improve Industrial tools and machines -Despite the previous failure in this technology another attempt is made to develop the technology of computers. As it is a technology with much potential that could be quite beneficial for Mexico and could be a product for the growing economy to produce. Counter-Intelligence: Seeing the need for protecting the domestic interests of Mexico to protect the nation against covert threats both internal and external the Domestic Intelligence Agency is founded or in short the DIA. The goal of the DIA is to defend Mexico against foreign spies, possible criminal organizations inside the country, conspiracy and to keep national secrets a secret. The goal is for the DIA to be an organization not responsible to the president or any political group but to work as an independent and impartial agency. Each of the possible applicants will first go through thorough screening and training to see if they are fit to join the agency. Military -Selection amongst the Mexican military begins for a Special Forces unit. For this process, some of the best performing soldiers in the military are reviewed and determined if they have what it takes to go through a rigorous selection progress and to see if they are physically and mentally strong. Meanwhilst both current and ex-generals and soldiers of the military work together to create an extraordinarily hard training regime that will push most men to the edge and determine who can go beyond their limits and become true special forces or if they are to be rejected from the special forces. The Federal Republic of Mexico Domestic Education: Seeing the limited success of the former education program another attempt is done with another twist to improve the knowledge and education of Mexico. For now whilst policy on how to improve education was still being discussed in the higher circles a large number of libraries would be funded as well as paying writers to create books to help children learn to read better and create better fiction books to make children enthusiastic about reading. Or at least children who would like to read rather than play on the streets. Corruption: Seeing the success in clearing the judiciary branch of corruption it will now be used to further clear society of corruption. More specifically government contractors. It would be made sure that government contractors would not use funds the government gave them to work on a certain project would not be put in the contractors own pocket. Except of course the officially agreed upon payment for services provided. The hope is that this would increase the available government budget as in a general term if successful it would mean the funds in a project are more efficiently used. Business: - Unemployed people. Some call them a drag on the state but President Gonalez sees an opportunity. All unemployed individuals are required to go to a registration center. Here they will receive work that more often than not involves manual labor. Three nutritional meals a day are provided to the people who have registered as unemployed and work under these jobs. As well as a minimum wage. The hope is that with this there will be less unemployed on the streets and unemployed people can sustain themselves until they find a new job. If this project is too flooded with unemployed beyond jobs that they can be used for any new entrants into the program would be denied. Furthermore, a close watch is put on the project to ensure that the possibility of failure is dealt with as soon as possible before a problem can explode out of proportions. -President Gonalez asks the judges of Mexico together with business experts (who have been proven not to be corrupt and are well-intentioned) to inspect the lawbook of Mexico. The goal of it will be too look into laws that simply complicate business too much and in the end, does more bad than good. The judges and businessmen would then determine which laws would need to be removed to improve the ease with which business can grow. Note that the plan will not be implemented in this part of the year yet. Thus even if unsuccessful it would not apply to the nation yet and the changes would not be implemented. However, this means that in the term after this one that a second action will need to be done to implement the new laws. -With help with some young minds, president Gonalez creates a new kind of job. Tech consultant. This consultant can be used by businessmen (or more precisely factory owners for now) to know what kind of new technology is on the market and what would help their business grow. The hope is that this will reduce the gap between newly developed technology and business. Research -Seeing possibilities in the so-called computer made by Turing in the USA the federal government uses its own scientists and funds to develop this so-called technology further. The hope of this computer was that it could process calculations much faster and maybe process other types of information. Diplomacy A Mexican diplomat would be sent to South Africa He would speak with the nation to discuss the possibility of a trade agreement between the two nations. Specifically stating that Mexico would be willing to reduce tariffs on resources coming into the country allowing Mexico to use it's growing Industry to process those resources into other goods. It is stated that this would help both nations. Considering South Africa could still send the same amount of resources into the country but would also make more of a profit even if they did not expand operations.

The Red Rock corporation Akhiya Newman looked over the colony of Ikhaya. Looking down from his elevated position at the settlement beneath him. He could see the hard-working people of the corporation working hard to excel at their business. Making sure that they could prosper and survive. He could see that people were working hard to sell their goods, ranging from the business that made parts for the shipyard or to the street vendor selling his food to passersby's. All in all, it was a nice sight to look down upon. The sight of a prospering civilization but Akhiya knew that it was not good enough. He would need to make his people truly prosperous, he needed to get the resources to truly make the corporation a force to be reckoned with. He knew that when he made contact with the lost human colonies there were some that would be changed in a militaristic manner. That all who he met might not desire peace but prefer domination. Though Akhiya knew that that tactic would, in the end, prove unsuccessful as it had been with all empires through human history he knew that the trend would pick up once more and that dangerous forces would try and repress prosperity and the will of the free market. And to counter such forces he needed resources, resources that the planets under his control and its prospering economy could provide. He knew it would not be easy to create a prosperous territory and economy. It would require many hours of hard work but he had done it on earth and he could do it once more here in this new galaxy with much more success than before. Briefly, Akhiya wondered if he had made the right choice of the direction his colony went to after they landed. The focus of the people had almost entirely been on establishing a prospering economy so they would have the resources to build a large fleet or expand business even more. Yet he knew that he had severely neglected to work on research, knowing that military technology was not developing amongst the corporation. Even if civilian technology was. Yet he knew that in the end that this was the best option. Technology could always be focused on later. Using his large number of resources to build universities but for now, large amounts of income were better to be focused on. As they allowed him to more quickly develop his planets to their fullest extent and expand his resources quickly. Still, as Akhiya looked out into the night sky, wondering where the other civilizations were amongst the stars and if there might just be an ally in the sky or if there were only enemies to be found. The county of Falinesti Lord Ulwnis looked out over his domain, thinking, contemplating. There were a great many things to contemplate about too. He had to admit they were proving to be quite effective, cheap investment for a high investment. If he played this out well he might just be able to flood the entire market of Tamriel with textiles from Falinesti. This could provide him with the funds needed for a great many of his plans and it would of course increase the general status of Falinesti amongst the general realm of Tamriel. The money gained from this venture could also most assuredly be effectively used. One of the uses he had in mind was taking out the hold the Altmer held on Valenwood. If he wanted his plans to be successful they would need to be dealt with but it would not be wise to attack without thinking. They would need to prepare, know the enemy before attacking them or else the venture would be doomed. There might be fewer troops in the garrison but those troops could still be larger than the forces he himself held. Furthermore, there were more...... elegant solutions to defeating one's enemies than simply defeating them in combat. Indeed there was a great manner of tactics that could be used to procure victory against one's enemy without even spilling a drop of blood. Well on your own end of course. And a combination of arms and cunning would be needed for his victory to be complete. Some of that involved careful timing and Intel. This he had told the commander bursting into his rooms. It would simply not do to attack a target without any intelligence. We could have been fooled by the enemy or their numbers might still be large enough to crush us without any problems. Indeed there were many ways in which a headless assault into Altmer territory could go wrong. Still, the benefits it could provide to be successful in the long run were numerous. Finally, to top it all off it would eventually mean more land that could be developed for his goals. it wouldn't cost that much. The textile mills were quite a safe investment for him as it did not cost that much but it could pay itself back in full in just 4 years. The Federal Republic of Mexico M President Gonalez stood at the parliament of Mexico. He could hear the low sound of politicians speaking to each other in a low tone. The biggest issue of the day was the summit he had held with President Long in Cuba. The results could be seen as controversial but he knew that in the end, it would serve the people of Mexico the best. It was a much better alternative than the war which had seemed to be on the horizon. Though some of his own political party might not approve. Considering the majority of the party was anti-American and he himself was the same. Yet he would not spill Mexican blood for his own selfish desires. Thus the president spoke to the gathered parliament. " My fellow Mexicans, today we are gathered here to discuss the summit between me and President Long of America and I am glad to say that in the course of 4 hours we have managed to turn around the relationship between our two nations. " As he said this there was a low murmur of disagreement primarily amongst his own party which Gonalez knew would only increase as his announcement continued. "Me and President Long have come to this agreement between the two of us. A non-aggression pact between our two nations will be signed between our two nations, the borders will be opened and free trade will flow between the two countries. " Then the storm of disagreement Manuel had expected happened. His own party went wild as they got news of this and some even called him a traitor, after a minute a gavel sounded and the parliament was silenced once more and Gonalez spoke. " Listen, my people, I still do not trust the Americans but this is the best solution. The non-aggression pact will make sure that no war will be declared for two years and if we connect the trade between our two nations war would benefit the USA less than peace. " The Parliament then started to quiet down at hearing this. Seeming to be at least partially-satisfied with the answer. "In any case let's focus on other issues. Now that our country does not need to fear war from the US any longer we will focus on more domestic issues. Focus on the needs of the people and make sure our people do not suffer in poverty any longer. Thus as can be outlined in the documents handed to you for this meeting I have several plans to address the domestic issues this country faces. " Domestic Education: Seeing the generally low quality of Education President Gonalez has issued that this would have to be rectified. First and foremost money would be invested into improving the quality of teachers themselves. So as not to have a lot of schools with teachers who don't know the curriculum they should be teaching themselves. Second more schools will be built in low-income areas. So as to make sure that everyone is able to get an education. Third, the majority of schools in the country will be reviewed. This review would then help establish the biggest issues in where education is going wrong or how it could be improved. Corruption: Seeing that there is a high level of corruption in the country President Gonalez begins an anti-corruption campaign. The campaign would begin by inspecting the courts for corruption. To make sure that the investigators themselves are not corrupt President Gonalez himself appoints Judge Monroe as head of this commision. A judge in Mexico known for his actions against corrupt officials and tightly enforcing anti-corruption laws. This special commision will first begin to review the courts. Making sure that it is entirely clear of corruption by checking the accounts of judges. Making sure their income does not show signs of bribes and their houses will be entered to check for unregistered caches of money or illegal goods. Second, an extensive interrogation would be ordered of any judges suspected of corruption. They would then be interrogated to see if they had ever traded any favors with criminals or other officials thus circumventing their duties as judges. Business: Money, everything turns around money and to influence the world one must have it so work is done on business. -Special Economic Zones are created in Mexico. These are zones in which: companies are given tax incentives to settle, there is more independence in trade activities and corporations generally have more influence in this region to produce what they desire with fewer regulations and such. -The government will also support small startup businesses in the hope that these businesses will take off the ground and that they will eventually provide much money for the government. The county of Falinesti The sounds of animals could be heard through the forests of Falinesti. The sounds of the birds chirping in the trees, the sound of squirrels rushing across the ground, searching for food or the sound of a deer eating grass together with its brethren. And the sound of an arrow flying at the deer, wait what? Through the forest an arrow expertly glided towards the deer, swimming through the air like a bird and hitting its mark right where it was intended to hit, in the heart of the deer. At the sound of this, all the other deer in the area fled away from this dangerous force which might also take them down. But this dangerous force had already gotten his target, from the bushes a man appeared. Nearly invisible as the color of his cloak made him blend in with his surroundings. The man made his way towards his target and started binding the legs of the felled animal together. This was then followed by the man dragging the deer away. The man in the dark green cloak was quite well armed. On his back, he held a strung longbow, ready to fire at any prey or enemy if needed. Furthermore, he had two knives in holsters. One of these knives was quite large, being smaller than a short sword but still able to block a sword if necessary and able to stab an opponent who was not paying attention in close quarters. The second knife was quite peculiar, it was smaller than the other one but rather than going from wide to short from the hilt of the blade it went from short to wide. This made sure that the balance of the weapon was focused near the top of the blade. Making the knife easier to throw as well as giving it more force when it impacted its target. This armed man began making his way through the forest. Ever vigilant for hostile animals or bandits and the like. Eventually, this man arrived at the edge of the forest, close to one of the villages in Falinesti quite far away from the Capital of Teirm. Here at the edge of the forest, there was a cabin in the woods. It was not a large cabin but it was quite large for a single man to live in. The cabin had a small stable at the back with a horse as well as a training field. In this field were objects like targets for bows, an obstacle course and even more targets which could be used for knife training. There was also a skinning rack at the back of the cabin. Which is where the man was headed, here the man attached the deer to it for skinning at a later date. First, he checked on his horse Abelard to make sure he was in a prime condition which he was and second in his house to check if anything was missing. As the man walked into his house he could see that everything was still in the same way as how he had left it and that the door had not been opened. As he walked inside he could hear the crunching of something beneath his feet. When the man looked down he could see that he had accidentally stepped on a pile of paper that had been dropped inside of his cabin. From first glance, he could see it was a copy of the annual budget so he was aware of what was going on as well as the reports of any local pests or troublemakers he would need to deal with. As he read the annual report Hal snorted. It seemed lord Ulwnis was going to build more of those water mills. He had seen one of them when he traveled North last year, still in construction but a small mill capable of producing textile for the local village there. He hoped it would be a good investment, they would need all the money they could get in the coming war. He was more approving of the sign that more recruitment was being put in place as well as an iron trade deal happening. He knew they needed the iron and more men would be necessary if they wished to beat the Altmer in the coming war. Though he would prefer creating more traps in the forest it was called too risky for now as locals could be trapped in them before the war started and one less man to work the fields was less efficiency for the war machine which was not acceptable. The man then realized that he still had his hood up and lowered it as he was now inside his home. Behind the hood was the face of a man who was between young and middle-aged, presumably 40 years old. He had brown hair and a small, scruffy, brown beard. The man was called Halt, Halt was the local ranger of this town. He had been chosen to become a ranger during the ranger program, excelling at archery and stealth. This made him quite an asset and he was determined to have the necessary qualities to be a ranger. Even though some might call him a brusque and sometimes rude man he knew how to do his job which was what mattered. Halt then picked up the last letter. It seemed a local group of men was picking on travelers, robbing them of their goods. It was only a small band of three men but they disrupted local trade. Halt realized with a sigh that he did not have the time to relax and would need to deal with it now or he would hear criticism. So Halt quickly put the deer at a place where it would not rot nor would it be eaten by animals. He then once more checked his bow, climbed on top of his horse and was off once more. Ulwnis would also say to the officers in the military that this would be the last major recruitment drive for some time as he wanted to keep a large part of his population in reserve if needed. 8ap is spent building water-powered textile mills. The hope is that this year the amount of textile exported from Falinesti will massively increase. This is to balance out the income from the ports which will inevitably be lost when the Altmer declare ware on Falinesti. The hope is that the textile can be sold in Leyawiin with the profit of it being able to fund the war against the Altmer if needed. The Federal Republic of Mexico Manuel Gonaléz, president of the Federal Republic of Mexico stood before the gathered national assembly of Mexico. As he stood from his elevated position and looked down into the crowd he could see the gathered parties and people. Many of these politicians had once been his enemies and still were but he knew that no matter his dislike of them he would need any help he could get to make sure the Republic of Mexico retained its freedom. Thus President Gonaléz spoke the national state of the Union address to both the people (those who could afford a radio or tv anyway) as well as those politicians in front of him. "Fellow Mexicans, today we are gathered at twilight, the last few bright moments of this nation before it will fall into the darkness of Imperialism and war. If possible it is something we should avoid but the choice has been made for us, president Long has made his intentions clear, he wants to go South to expand." Manuel let out a look of sadness at this but also of determination as he straightened himself once more. "The Americans have always had a desire for expansion and power, it reared its head first hundreds of years ago as the Americans settled West and went to war to take our territory from us. After this, we and the world thought that this desire for expansion was gone, but it was merely sleeping. Now it has reared it's ugly head again and we will need to put it to sleep forever. " " The coming war will not be easy, not by a long shot but it is necessary to keep our freedom and way of life. The Americans might not be coming for us now but they will soon. Thus I have a number of acts proposed to the parliament here to guarantee the safety of our country. " The president then continues on to propose a number of policies which serve to increase the capacity of Mexico to wage a defensive war. The Gonalez Security acts - A large government investment is put into the Mexican arms industry, with the focus being on small arms industry. As it is more achievable in the short run and needs less supply and is thus more viable than for example tanks which the country can not manufacture yet and not maintain due to a lack of oil. Though if possible a large amount of anti-tank and anti-air weapons would also be produced - President Gonalez repeals the laws that stop a citizen from having a gun. And whilst all guns sold must be registered to their owner and can't be sold or traded by non-licensed personnel any citizen can now buy a gun. - A plan is put in preparation to if necessary implement scorched earth tactics on its northern border against a possible US invasion - The taxes on horses breeding and ownership is nearly abolished in an effort to encourage more horse ownership. This is to make sure that Mexico has a larger amount of horses which can possibly be used in a Guerilla war and could be effective to disrupt American communications and supply lines. - A minefield is laid on the western coasts of Mexico in locations not actively used for trade. This is to make the possibility of naval bombardment less likely. To still protect the harbors in case of invasion several naval guns are installed near coastal cities with a harbor The same is done on the east coast though on a lesser scale - A series of fortifications are created, with the most northern series of defenses mostly consisting of trenches and less fortified locations but at least enough to at least slow down the American troops. With the second and third line near Mexico city being even more fortified with bunkers and modern defenses - Every Town in Mexico must form and train a militia consisting of all adults males above 22 and 50 - Every adult male above 22 and 50 years of age will go through the basic training of the Mexican army with the younger men going first and then the older men following that. This pact will consist of a defensive-pact if any of the signatories of this pact are attacked by a foreign nation the other members of the pact will aid it. And whilst no official accusations are made the underlying tone makes it clear this pact is intended to serve as a counter-balance against the USA's attempt to influence Southern and Latin America

Agerian Commonwealth Location: Cadia Hugh Silva, foot soldier in the Commonwealth Defense Forces sat in one of the many cafés that were common in this part of Cadia. As of right now, he was on leave, enjoying the sights of the recently revitalized planet. Next to him at the other end of the table sat a man in a business suit but with quite a few scars on his hands and other parts of his body. He had a tough look in his eyes but he also looked tired. These two men seemed to be comfortable with each other indicating some kind of friendship between the two. The trooper out of uniform spoke first. "So Timothy, are you enjoying the sights here." To this, the man in a suit, now introduced as Timothy reacted "It is quite a sight to see, looks much better than it did when we started basic training. Now it looks like a Utopia from some old earth movie" To this Hugh nodded. "Indeed it does, I am sure quite a few old rich bastards will retire here and enjoy their work. But I know you, Timothy, you do not normally come somewhere just for sightseeing, why are you here ?" To this Timothy mused a little before responding "Maybe I am here for work or I can just be here for pleasure. Officially I can't tell but let's just say I got a few people I want to talk to and leads to pursue" Hugh frowned at this and muttered in a low voice. In front of him was the military of Falinesti, a strong force of 2000 Heavy and 3000 light infantry standing in formation. (the other 1000 light infantry were on garrison duty). Behind them, the massive works in the city could be seen. Around the wall simply anyone who wanted to get a few coins, mostly the poor were working on digging a large moat around where the city wall would be. The aforementioned city wall was also being built. Here masons, as well as common manpower, worked to create a strong defensive wall around the city to make sure that the Altmer could not enter the city. In the distance, Ulwnis could barely make out the works even further back. Here he could just make out the building of the citadel. Or rather the renovation of his old keep. There the citadel was built, a stronghold to retreat to in case the walls would fall down. Ulwnis nodded approvingly at this. He now truly had a three-layered defense of his capital. First, he had the outer walls and moat which defended the edges of the city. Making sure the Altmer had to put in at least a little effort to built Siege towers or catapults and towers to either bring down the walls or climb them. On top of that, they provided good cover for archers to reign down fire upon the invading force. If/when the walls were breached there was the city itself. Even the city was built like a fortress. With the roofs being easily usable as an area for archers to fire into the streets and to hit enemy archers on a lower roof. This was further aided by the structure of the buildings itself. The city was built in a web pattern with several chokepoints. It was easy to lock down the city with a large number of barricades that could be used to retreat to several times. Then when even that failed there was the Stronghold. This final line of defense was to make sure that the enemy either got so many losses they needed to retreat, make the enemy victory as costly as possible or to simply delay the enemy. Ulwnis thought of this and knew that he would need to delay an Altmer force as long as possible. He would need to make sure that he could delay the Altmer long enough to get reinforcements to help take out any forces besieging the city. Luckily enough for him, he was being busy with just that. Making sure he had allies that would aid him so as to make sure that a second Aldmeri dominion did not rise again. But Ulwnis then mentally chided himself, for drifting off from the military assembled before him. Honestly, Ulwnis was proud of the men in front of him. The new guard of the military had gone beyond his wildest expectation. He had expected progress from them but the sheer initiative and devotion of them were amazing. They had of their own volition carried out the purge of the old guard, they had built an officer academy of the excess funds for the ranger program and on top of that, they even now went to train without any push from him to do so. Truly he was proud of these soldiers, and now it was time to show his appreciation and to inspire them. "Soldiers of Falinesti, we are faced with a grave threat. Today and in the coming years, we will be faced with the ever-present threat of the kingdom of Aurion-Auridion. As some of you might know they just recently slaughtered and killed a bosmer lord and usurped his nation. The Aldmeri might give one excuse or the other but we all know why they have come here, for power. These Altmer crave power, have craved it for thousands of years. It is why they have formed the Aldmeri dominion time and time again and it is why they have PURGED OUR PEOPLE TIME AND TIME AGAIN !!!!! " Ulwnis said in a loud, confident and outraged voice. "The Altmer will not change, they will always have a lust for power that drives them ever Onwards, it is an endless cycle of Hate, Destruction, and genocide. It is a cycle that has continued on for many years BUT NO MORE. You the brave soldiers of Falinesti, the strength of my arm and the will of the people will break this cycle. We will break this cycle and destroy it thoroughly that it will never rise again. The war with the Altmer which will inevitably come may take months, years or decades but we will stand firm and continue fighting. To this, there was the sound of a silence for a moment and Ulwnis wondered if he had made a mistake but then an extremely loud chant started. A chant that had started in the officer academy, where the troops learned to trust one another, learned discipline and courage. A chant that was drilled into the very hearts of these men. "URAH! URAH! URAH! URAH! URAH! URAH! URAH! URAH ! " and so it continued on and Ulwnis started to get a little wet in the eyes. No, he was not feeling emotional, he just had something in his eyes. This was what Ulwnis himself thought and everyone would tell if anyone saw him like this. As in the previous year, an administration error occurred and funding was given to the project that never existed in the first place 2 ap, a 10 feet wide, 5 feet deep moat is dug around the entirety of the city of Teirm. 2 ap is spent on finishing the research into textile mills 0ap All trees in a 5-10km area around Falinesti are cut down. These trees would be sold for profit but more importantly, it meant a besieging force had no cover and would need to put more effort into supplying wood for siege weaponry. 0ap, Ulwnis heads to the invite of the Bride's father. He goes to accept his offer to wed with his daughter. However, 4 guards go with Ulwnis for security and any drinks offered are first extensively tested for poison 0ap the request for the military to train in the unclaimed territory is accepted however the area in which the military goes to train is first extensively scouted by the Rangers to make sure there are no great threats or danger. On planets like these, the prosperity of the Commonwealth could be seen as well as the major investments. Yet there were other planets were the eye of the government was far less focused. And whilst in the majority of the Commonwealth a golden age of prosperity was being felt on the planet of Badab Primaris this could not be felt. Most famous, or rather infamous for the battle of Badab it was, in the end, a rather insignificant planet in the grand scheme of things. The single greatest export of the system was its ribalite deposits. This planet also suffered the most during the Kalronian occupation, with the battle of Badab killing a large part of the population and with them being the most suppressed under the Kalronian regime. Eventually, the Kalronians died and on this planet were brutally executed before order was restored across the former planets of the IRM. And whilst in the ashes of the Imperial Republic, the Commonwealth rose the resentment remained on the planet. With the actions of the Kalronians were not forgotten and neither were those of the government. The government had failed in it's first and foremost duty, to protect its citizenry. And whilst this failure was mostly attributed to the previous government much of the population of Badab accused the current government of the same mistakes. Now rather than spending money on the defense of its planets, the new government invested into business to create prosperity yes, but what use would this prosperity be if a new attack came once more upon this planet. Still, the common people thought there be no threat to them as of right now. The Kalronians were pretty much destroyed, the Ganvius were peaceful, the Replicants have retreated into unknown space and on top of that, the protection of the Redon protected them from outside interference. But many of the people of Badab saw that the current government made the same mistakes as the former. The room in which it held was quite large, consisting of one large round table and being cast in shadows. One of the men in the assembly spoke, though the man's voice was not entirely human as the man or woman had a voice distorted. "Good evening fellow humans, today we are gathered to discuss the issue of this pathetic government we live under now" As the man or woman said this many of the assemblies nodded in agreement. "Everyone assembled here may have different beliefs on what should happen but we are united in one goal, the destruction of the Commonwealth" Once more a chorus of approval followed and a couple of shouts of aye, then the unknown person spoke once more. "The biggest issue we face is a lack of popularity. As only the planet of Badab has a good amount of opponents of the government. On the other planets, the Commonwealth has got a good grip of power. As on these planets, they get that 'oh so important' government investment. All in all the people see no need to rise up against the corrupt officials of the government." "Thus we must turn the people against the government but how do we do that you may ask? Well, what we need to do is create a scandal. Turn public opinion against the government and show the people the flaws of it. " "Again some might ask, how do we achieve this? Well, this will be achieved by setting up a 'peaceful protest' against the government on this planet. We will then use our infiltrants in the local police force to open fire against the government and cause a massacre. Once this is done public opinion will quickly skyrocket against the government and more riots will start. Then we will once more cause these riots to become more violent and force the government's attention on this. Once this is achieved we will send in a number of well-equipped troops and storm the Senate and massacre the Senate so as to cause more internal strife amongst the fools. " Whilst the unknown person spoke most of the assembly remained silent, carefully listening to the speaker and agreeing with him or her. Thus when a vote was asked for all those in favor of this approach everyone raised their hands. Some more reluctantly than others. The goal of this process is to first find an elite squadron that could serve in the military of the commonwealth. The plan is to make the selection process so hard that only one in 100k sentients is capable of passing them. First, a basic intelligence test is done to weed out those who are not intelligent enough. This is followed by a basic fitness test that all must test. It is to be expected that 95% of the population (as all must try at the very least the first step) will fall in the first two parts of the test. The remaining 5% will then be trained further for a period of at least one week. During this period their personality and attitude would be observed to make sure the candidates who would go through are: loyal, brave (though not suicidal) and determined as well as many other positive traits. The third part would follow the basic lines of a military Bootcamp. When the fourth part begins and only about 1% of the starting candidates are remaining the real trials will start. During these trials, applicants will be trained in survival, combat, tactics and other skills generally needed in the military. These trials will be hard and will be aimed to make sure only those with the mental and physical capabilities remained. In the first three stages, it would be made sure that the chances of lethality are as few as possible. This process will likely not be finished at the end of the year. The hope is that with the massive economic investment this planet can become a true hub of trade and economics. The county of Falinesti It was almost never silent in the streets of Falinesti. During the day the normal activities happen, people worked, sold their goods or had a friendly talk with their neighbors but at night it was a different kind of world. At night teens sat in pubs drinking and defying the wishes their parents, at night the crime rate increased, and at night a war of shadows was waged. Feri, the most promising agent of Lord Ulwnis was well equipped to deal with the war in the shadows. She had been born an orphan, occasionally having mentors but most of the time living alone. To make sure she did not starve Feri was a thief, often stealing food or selling information as she stuck to the shadows. On a few occasions she had worked for military intelligence before during the purge of the military. In this she had helped find the locations of the old guard and make sure the purge was helped along successfully. But with the formation of the agency she was quickly determined to be a suitable candidate for it. As she had a reputation at being the best at her line of work in Falinesti and with the training of the agency her skills improved even more. Feri had had an education at the school system and had learned there how to read, how to count and other things. Whilst it might not seem important to some the skill of reading allowed her to more effectively gather information and during the real culture part of the history and culture lessons she learned more about the mindset of the Altmer, the most likely people to have spies in Falinesti. Which was not a surprise, amongst high command and the military the mood and mindset could be felt, they were preparing for a war. And she too needed to serve in this war but in a different way than others, she was the blade amongst the darkness that would protect Falinesti from the rot that were Altmer agents. In the year she had gotten a large number of Altmer agents taken out, making sure that they could no longer report information to their king and intercepting their messages. It was a good job really, she got paid and she could do what she enjoyed most, stalking in the shadows. Now she was doing her job once more, she had overheard from one of the Altmer she had interrogated before killing her that she had a meeting with two other Altmer agents. She had taken the clothes of the now dead Altmer and was making her way towards the meeting. With her hood on she was sure that at least from a distance she would not be recognized by the Altmer. Inside the sleeves of her jacket Feri could feel the comfortable weight of her knife. The knife had a poison on it that would knock her enemy out whilst also keeping them alive. Making sure that they could be successfully dealt with later whilst keeping them alive. Feri noted that she was almost at the planned location and noted that she was a few minutes late, arriving a little late would mean that the other two Altmer agents would already be there. And when she turned a corner and walked into a secluded alley she could indeed see two figures standing there whispering to each other. When they saw her they nodded in her direction but could not see her faces due to the lack of light and the hood obscuring her face. As she walked calmly towards them she heard the words "Have you got any news ?" To which she remained silent as she had now reached her targets and in one swift move cut both of them before they had any time to react. They then after seeing they were betrayed grabbed their weapons but both Altmer had slow movement and after about 10 seconds they fell down. Feri then smiled, satisfied that she had done her job and left the bodies here, obscured behind one of the doors of the abandoned houses in the street. She knew they would be picked up in 5 minutes by one of her associates and then taken to interrogation whilst the sleep potion would last for another 10 minutes. Thus Feri made her way back to the middle district of Teirm. There at one inconspicuous alley she claimed her way up against two walls and got into her hidden place in-between four apartments. The room she had her residence in was a large open space with a small shack and cot inside of it. It was supposed to have been a garden for the apartments but there was a change mid-construction which resulted in there no longer being funding for the garden. Thus the room remained and was closed off with a few walls but that would not stop someone dedicated and skilled like her and so she had her hidden room. Fully of the record and only known to the agency she then lay down inside the shack on the comfortable mattress and went to sleep but only after locking the door. For today her work had been done but she knew that her work never stopped. Actions 12 ap is spent recruiting 2000 heavy infantry for the coming war with the Altmer. Making good use of the officers from the academy to make sure the soldiers are properly led and in good condition. 4 ap is spent on funding and subsidizing the Militia act. The militia act is that every family must have at least one bow or arrows or any other type or projectile weapon and a person to use them ( particular in Teirm), though if a person is more familiar with bladed weapons a bladed weapon. The goal of this is to make sure that particularly the city of Teirm has local defenders to defend it who can make use of the roofs to rain down arrows upon the enemies. And in peace time in the smaller town and villages it can be used against bandits or other local dangers. 2 ap is spent creating anti-Altmer propaganda and spreading it to the public. To make sure that there will be only few if any sympathizers amongst the populace. Though it is made sure that this propaganda is focused on the state not the people since there is a significant Altmer population. 0ap Ulwnis talks with the so called beautiful girl and goes to judge her. A.k.a. if she is intelligent and could possibly win the hearts of the people and other lords and ladies to get himself more support. This Ulwnis does to make sure he does not merely have a trophy wife but an intelligent one he could use himself. 0ap with the help of the scoutings from earlier a map is created of Falinesti, on these maps the locations of all water sources are noted down as well as the locations of food and other supplies. The aim of this is to make sure that if the Altmer attack these supplies could quickly be sabotaged and force any incoming Altmer army to rely on a long supply chain which could be interrupted by the rangers. 0 ap is also spent on making sure the gathering of the lords is properly protected and make sure that no Altmer agents or troops could surprise the meeting as well as inspecting the premise of the meeting multiple times for explosives and there would be many more security measures. The county of Falinesti In his throne Ulwnis contemplated, it seemed he would need to accelerate his plans for militarization. It seemed the Altmer were up to their old tricks once again. Attempting conquer Valenwood once more in an effort to reform the Aldmeri dominion. Ulwnis could in no way stand for anyone being above him in position. It was simply something that he did not even consider, it was just as logical to him as that the sky was blue, why would he be the vassal of someone he was superior to and would only decelerate his growing power and would restrict him. But he also knew that in a conventional war he would in no way be able to defeat the Altmer, which was why he would need to fight unconventionally. Make sure that he had more advantages than the Altmer had so that he could if not defeat them make sure that they did not defeat him and cause a stalemate. But how could he do that, the Altmer had much more troops than him and a larger fleet so they could fight him both in a direct front or they could do a naval invasion. He would need to counter either option but how. Then Ulwnis got a sudden sense of inspiration. He could not win from the Altmer in a direct fight which was why he would not fight in a conventional way. He would fight them in the forests, taking advantage of the large amount of forests in his lands as well as his people's inherent knowledge of it. He could simply destroy the supplies of the enemy, set up lightning ambushes, assassinate enemy generals and officers from a far off distance by archery and stay hidden whilst doing so. They could make sure that his enemies would not even get to fight a direct confrontation. Still it would be wise if he built defenses around his cities and set up a stockpile just in case there was a long siege. He would also need to make sure that he set up funding for the militia act which could prove critical in the defense of the city. But the two most essential parts would be to Have a strong outer wall as well as a inner citadel to take care of defenses. He could use his army as well as a citizen militia to thus easily and effectively defend his capital. But he would also have to make sure his port was defended. But to defend his port he could use his army. He would need more troops for this but he was sure that they could hold the port of Falinesti so as to take out any naval invasion. Yes he could do that but he would also need to make sure there weren't any spies or thieves in his territory, he would need to set up an intelligence service to make sure of that. But that would not be much of a problem and more traditional, Ulwnis then continued plotting the rest of the day on how to make sure his territory did not get conquered by the Altmer. Actions 12 ap is spent on setting up the rangers. An organization with the goals of being skilled in (In order of importance): Stealth, sabotage, scouting/setting up ambushes, archery, knives (if they have to get in close quarter combat). This organization will have a set number of 50 Rangers and with each Rangers only being allowed to have one apprentice. If one ranger dies the other apprentices will be judged for who is the most competent to take the position. Most of the funds are used to train these rangers in the aforementioned topics and fight a guerrilla war if needed. They are also to be trained in the tactics, military and mindset of the high elves as they are the most likely opponent of Falinesti in the future. 3ap is spent on setting up counter-intelligence agents to take care of internal security from spies or from revealing secrets. The county of Falinesti Ulwnis sat inside his wooden throne, seemingly calm and collected, a beacon of stability. But on the inside he was fuming, it seemed that his military was made up of INCOMPETENTS. It seemed that whilst he had focused his eyes on improving the literacy of his subjects and improving the economy the army had slacked of because of a lack of threats. This would not do. But how would he solve the issue that was the question. He doubted whether he could turn these men into proper soldiers once more, a tendency to become drunk would mean a lack of discipline in one's nature. He would need to make sure that these soldiers were replaced but how would he do that. Ulwnis contemplated this, maybe he could find a dungeon and shove these men inside of it. If he was lucky he got a dungeon with the loot inside of it, if he was even more lucky and all of them died. And even if some survived they could easily be discharged from the military though that would leave a whole bunch of unruly workers. Maybe send them to the gulags too if they survived. Yes he could do that, maybe they would in such a way provide more benefits than they had done before. Maybe the extra profit they brought could be used to fund a new army, one better equipped and train to a much higher standard. But first he would need to make sure he had a loyal cadre of soldiers that were more capable than these ones. It would be a wise course of action to use new graduates from the school. They would at least be loyal because of history and culture classes and he could make sure that they stayed disciplined. Maybe sending the other soldiers to their deaths and to the gulag would also provide a good example of what would happen if they slacked off and became like them. Yes that could work, a triple win situation. 1. He got a dungeon if any were found 2. his military would be purged of incompetence 3. It would serve as a reminder to what can happen. But now to more pleasing issues, the schools they were producing bright students, ready to do innovation for the cause of the county. And he had gotten an audience with one of the students who had a most enlightening idea that Ulwnis had to smile at. Sometimes he just loved to see people discovering new ways to benefit him seemingly out of nowhere. But this student he had this idea that some kind of textile making workshop could be made. Powered by a small river it would with the help of that power make huge amounts of cloth from cotton. It was truly a radical but most certainly intriguing idea. If pulled of properly the revenue it could make was incredible. Ulwnis then allowed him a small smile, soon all internal issues would be dealt with and then he could prepare himself for what the world would throw at him. Or would it be the Alter as Ulwnis knew that one day they would come and try to regain their former dominion, but he would be waiting, preparing himself to destroy them when they tried that and to make sure none would interfere when he gained dominion over Valenwood Actions 10 ap is spent researching a water-powered textile mill. The hope is that the force of the power will cause movement to be generated, this movement would result in work benches weaving textile, or more specifically cotton into fabric. The hope is that with this invention mass amounts of clothes can be fabricated on a scale never seen before. With this project the help of expert weavers is employed to make sure their knowledge on weaving is properly used as well. Furthermore, men and/or women skilled with machinery or logical processing would be put to work to help in this project. It is also made sure that the information of this technology will not be leaked to other nations like with agriculture by making sure that the people working on this project are loyal and loyal private security protects the research rather than drunk soldiers. 4ap is spent training 3000 light infantry. The county of Falinesti Ulwnis sat in his wooden throne, contemplating what he would make his followers do this year. He was satisfied that education was improving across the country. The history and education classes would make sure that he had loyal soldiers and agents in the future whilst the others would make sure that his populace worked more effectively than before. Working in more advanced crafts and resulting in more money flowing into the pockets of the crown. Even now the results of the investments into education were starting to be seen. The numbers of skilled craftsmen were quickly increasing in numbers, starting to produce luxury garments and robes, a good resource to export to other countries as well as good trinkets and exotic crops.. Though he suspected that markets of his current trade partners were too small to adequately benefit of this new development. It could be wise to gain more affection with Aurion. They would provide a large market for any produce created in the future in the county and keeping good relations with them would mean that the chance of them protecting his trade routes would remain highly likely and hopefully this would result in the money to keep flowing into the government pockets. And of course the government was him. Still Ulwnis would be more happy if his entire population was educated. It would be a nice thing to boast about if he ever met any other leaders and he was not entirely sure but it might result in him having the first government to have a completely literate populace. Except maybe the Dwemer though he was not sure. Still it would be quite an achievement and a strategic boon to him. It would probably result in his population becoming more knowledgeable and able to develop new technologies. Which was something that Ulwnis was quite eager to see. He believed that if one had technological supremacy over ones enemies that the person with the superior technology had an immense boon and more possibilities to exploit certain situations. But then Ulwnis's mind shot to his territories. To call them small would be an understatement yet his sole province was quite rich. But he himself wanted to get more land. This land could aid him in getting more resources for his craftsmen to exploit and export. And export meant more money which was always a good thing in Ulwnis's books. Because who did not wish to have money to further increase one's money, research new technology or employ an army to protect one's self. Or possibly attack but that would be so uncivilized. Attacking another person without prior provocation was heinous, it was always good to have a decent casus belli to seem like the justified party. The party who was acting reasonably. But as of right now war was not something Ulwnis had on his agenda for a long time. War cost money and money could be more effectively used in the economy or education. Furthermore because of the altogether friendly and close-nit relations in Valenwood military expansion would most assuredly be seen as aggressive and hostile. This would mean that if one had to secure Valenwood he or she would need to act wisely but Ulwnis had not come as far as he had by being unwise. He took as few chances as possible, even now exploiting his people into creating a better economy and becoming smarter so as to employ better jobs and be loyal to him. Ulwnis then stood up and would go to the prison to see the thieves that had been captured. He had hoped that these thieves might have had a small amount of treasure that could be used for the coffers of the crown but it seemed that they were not leaching of the economy that much. But how could he best use them. Employing them in the territory of other lords would probably provide only limited funds and would become a diplomatic incident if it was discovered he would be behind it. Even if he had plans to get his own agents they would be his own, not the bunch of scum that was now rotting in the dungeons wasting space. Ulwnis then realized that he had arrived in the dungeons where these thieves had been gathered. Here he saw that the warden was sitting there in his chair, he seemed to be doing some paperwork which Ulwnis approved of, much easier than hearing so many people whine all the time. Much more efficient use of his time. Then he saw that the warden's eyes saw him and immediately saw him straighten and bow at him. "M'lord, I had not expected you" Ulwnis then put his intent gaze on the man "Indeed it seems you have not warden. How are the prisoners doing ?" Ulwnis said in a semi-interested tone. "It is doing alright, they are becoming physically less fit because of a lack of movement but their body is not suffering because of a lack of nutrition" Ulwnis nodded approvingly at this. It was good to hear that the prisoners were in a good state for what he wanted to do and it was nice to see that this man was somewhat educated and knew how to talk properly. "That is good to hear, you will go to administrator Crannick and bring these prisoners to the quarries. There they will be paying the price for stealing from proper citizens" Once he was finished speaking the warden gave a short bow "As you wish m'lord" Ulwnis nodded affirmatively at this and would then move away back to his personal chambers. The hope is that with this relations between the two factions will improve, with indirect suggestions being made that if they were interested Aurion could have a trade agreement with Falinesti. Here they would be properly fed and clothed but they would need to work hard labour in either small local quarries or doing other manual labour tasks. 0 ap is spent on searching through the ranks of the militaries for any person standing out who would prove to be talented enough so as to effectively lead the military. Meanwhilst the group of children that stood out in war-games are kept an eye out for in their careers. To see if any of them would show potential as they grew older and more capable. At the very least it would be wise to remain suspicious of this young lord but it would prove much more advantageous to build up the economy whilst he could. Military was good but he suspected that it was near impossible for him to go toe to toe with the Altmer. But eventually he knew it was near certain that one day his realm would truly go to war and he would need to be ready for that day. First he would need the resources to supply his army, navy and to fund new innovations. Innovation was one subject Ulwnis was fascinated by. If one army was more advanced than the other than it could defeat an army many time's larger than itself. If war with the Altmer ever came he would need a more advanced army and navy if he wished to be victorious. Still as of right now the best way to prevent war and economic disaster was to get good relations with the Altmer. Ulwnis then started to think about a possible new marriage. If he got married to another lordship he could create a strong relation and possibly alliance which he could use. And once his order of assassins was established he could even assassinate the royal family of whatever nation he had married into so that his son, daughter or wife would inherit it and he could be regent. Then he cleared himself from these thoughts, it would be better to focus on the now. As he would also need to make sure to inspect whether the resources allocated to education were being used properly and he could maybe spend some time at the training yard, sitting on a throne all day would make him stiff and a ruler who could not defend himself was eventually doomed to fail.
