Migoi
Characteristics
The migoi is a distant relative of the Sasquatch of the south, found mostly within the tundra and snow bitten forests of the North. They are ferocious monsters, capable of slaying poor nearby travelers with swipe of their claws. They have large coats of fur that varies from brown to white, and sometimes a mixture of both.
Migoi scale at a hulking size of ten to twelve feet, towering over any human or animal. Their arms are naturally bulky and hang lower than their hips to allow better movement when running on all fours.
Males: Male migoi tend to be the more aggressive of the two, being a more dominate king of the tundra is the best way for a migoi to obtain many mates. Males can be identified by their horns, they always have upright horns sticking towards the skies in a variety of different formations. In addition, males will tend to have bigger fangs than their female counterparts.
Females: Females migoi can be identified by having less muscles on their stomach. Their horns point downwards, and majority of the time they will curl. Though females migoi are less aggressive than males, they have bigger claws, ranging from a foot to a foot and a half length.
Behavior
Myth: All Migoi are extremely dangerous and feared. They are monsters and destroy anything in sight.
Fact: Migoi do tend to be a rather aggressive breed, however, not all migoi share that trait.. Most migoi tend to live alone and secluded. Due to their massive size, most migoi are not afraid of other animals. Migoi are in fact quite docile unless it is mating season. Males tend to become more aggressive during mating season in order to impress potential mates.
Migoi are like many other animal species, they will be passive to other creatures because they dont have many natural predators. Migoi stand on their hind legs but when proked will not hesitate to get on all fours for easier mobility. When attacking they tend to use their greatest fightinf assest available, their claws, by either slicing at their prey or stabbing deep into the ribcage. It has also been found that the males of the species will use their horns as a tactical advantage, ramming into trees or the enemy, or simple using them as a shield.
Sight: Migoi have several disadvantages such as how their skin is soft and easily penetratable. But their biggest disadvantage is their sight. Migoi do not see like regular beings, they see body heat instead of normal vision. Thus beings such as frost witchs and certain undead can slip under their noses quite easily, due to their colder body temperatures. However to make up for their sight Migoi have slightly better hearing to pick up on things such as foot steps and other movements.
Diet
Migoi will on average go out and hunt for there food. Their appetite ranges from large deer to small rodents. They typically prefer dining on meats but they will opt to consume plant based meals if it was their only mean of survival.
Habitat
Migoi are most commonly found near mountains. Since migoi have such heavy coats of fur they like to be in colder climates to so they don’t overheat. Migoi have been found to build their homes in the sides of mountains or in caves, but never out in the open. Some migoi have even gathered enough intelligence to build a house out of the snow, making a more shambolic igloo.
Role In Society:
Wild migoi are in fact rather dangerous but many have found a way to tame them. Migoi's impeccable strength has found use for many things such as moving heavy objects, fighting alongside their masters in battle, and even construction. Used for common slave labor the migoi toll away with ease, completing simple tasks is a rather easy to them. Migoi have even found there help to be used by rich nobles of the north and even small baronies.
