"The Courtly Court of Ancelcourt" (As of 1553) You are welcomed into the gardens of Ancelcourt by a Imperial guardsman, staring in awe at the glamour of the Imperial Palace. Nobles loiter about, speaking loudly or, more often, in hushed tones. Climbing the stairs, the doors of the Palace are opened to you, entering the Throne Room. But as you look around, you begin to fret. "Who is that blonde-haired woman, in the crimson silk," You would ask, "Who is that man with a crown on his head?" This is a guide to help you with just that, informing you of who the big and little fish are at the Imperial court! The Imperial Family ------------------ His Imperial Majesty, John II Sigismund Horen, Emperor of the Holy Orenian Empire - With black hair and a thick beard, John Sigismund is not hard to miss with the jeweled crown upon his head and much of the court constantly gathered around him. Swift in taking action and rewarding to those who aid him, John has proved to be a good ruler who strongly cares for his Empire. However, don't seek to harm or betray him, for you will see a side to him that is only seen by those at his court. Her Imperial Majesty, Ari Horen née Rothesay, Empress Consort of the Holy Orenian Empire - Blessed with the beauty of an angel, Ari Rothesay-Horen has proved thus far to be a kind and well-mannered Empress Consort. Living in Leone after her marriage, not much is known about her. It is said that she is kind to her husband's subjects, and always seeks to make a new friend. Her Imperial Highness, Eleanor Elizabeth Horen, Princess of the Holy Orenian Empire - The Elder of John Sigismund's sisters, Eleanor is the more outgoing of the two, very open to meeting new people and experiencing the life of court head on. Her light brown hair is tied into a graceful braid, and her dresses are constantly the height of fashion and taste. Her handmaidens adore her, as do most others at court, a lively and joyful spirit in the Imperial Court. Her Imperial Highness, Catherine Francesca Horen, Princess of the Holy Orenian Empire - The younger of the two sisters living at the Imperial Court, Catherine is quite reserved and quiet. She often enjoys being alone, but can sometime be found with her sister or a noble lady to whom she is friends. Her brown hair and silvery dress make her a standout at court, and many a man would compliment her on her most-apparent beauty. His Lordship, Henry Joseph Horen, Son to His Holiness, High Pontiff Daniel III Horen - The Emperor's nephew, Henry Joseph is very adventurous and very curious. He can often be found in the city or the Imperial Gardens, playing with a new group of friends that he collect that day. Often under the watch of Maude, Henry Joseph knows the proper courtesies and is a fine example of a young lord in-training. His Lordship, Charles Philip Horen, Son to His Holiness, High Pontiff Daniel III Horen - Twin to Lord Henry Joseph, Charles is a very friendly boy who enjoys seeking out friends and other children to play with. Both boys love to duel, though Henry shows the better skill over his twin. Nobles and Councillors --------------------- His Grace, Adrian Rothesay-Horen, Duke of Leone and Viscount of Rothesay, Archchancellor of Oren - The right hand to John Sigismund, Lord Adrian is a noble man who serves the realm with faith and justness. Being a common face found at court, he is most like to exchange a few kind words with those he sees as new, wishing to get to know all who might enter the household of his nephew. His Lordship, Reinholt Helvets, Count of Hengfors and Krinfrid - A young bachelor and wealthy count, Reinholt Helvets is a silent and isolated man who often keeps to himself. If you see him, offer him a kind word or a courtesy, but don't linger for long. He is known to be close with the housekeeper, Maude, as she is the only one besides the Emperor that he speaks to. Knights --------- Ser Bruno Buron - The former commandant of the Felsen Watch, Bruno is often found at the side of the Emperor. Recently a widower, his young wife falling into the dry moat outside the city, he is quite jolly and outgoing in most things. Ser Drevin de Sarkozy - A knight in service to the Emperor, Drevin is a swift protector of his liege. Quick to come to the aid of any at court, this knight is a very loyal and just man. The Imperial Household --------------------- Maude, Imperial Housekeeper - Miss Maude is a very strong and capable woman, ruling the Imperial household and staff with an iron fist. She is often seen rebelling against her orders, even those given by the Emperor, but most admire her for being unafraid to stand up to her betters. Anne, Handmaiden - A quiet girl with pale grey eyes and black hair, Anne is the very image of a perfect handmaiden. Quiet, kind, and smart, Anne is what every noble lady dreams of in their own handmaiden, a true asset to the Imperial household. Gemma, Handmaiden - Often at Miss Maude's side, Gemma is loyal to the Housekeeper completely and is well-regarded in the court for her loyalty. Her Ladyship, Aurabella Wycombe-Grey, Widow of Baron Wycombe, lost at Sea - A former baroness turned Imperial Chef, Aurabella Grey is one of the best known cooks in the realm. Her teahouses are spread throughout the land are highly-regarded for their excellent brews and delicious treats. As of now, she has taken leave of the court for personal reasons. Courtiers and Others -------------------- Bertrand - A man found often at court, his loyalty to the Emperor is unprecedented. A noble commoner, he is known to be loyal to any lord who serves the Empire with faith. Jaromir - A young Raevir under the care of Housekeeper Maude, Jaromir is the Emperor's own squire and a well-behaved boy. He is often found climbing the trees in the gardens, or standing beside the Emperor during political events. Gwyn Warlai - A wealthy and well-educated Burgheress of Felsen, Gwyn Warlai has always been a beautiful and kind face to behold at court. A new friend to the Horen Family, Gwyn seeks to aid the Horens in all they desire and hope to achieve. ((OOC)): And there is my guide to who lives in the Imperial Court and a small biography of each person! I hope you all enjoyed, please leave feedback below! This will be updated every 5 - 10 in-game years. I hope all of you who wish to join the court are a bit more informed now, giving you a glimpse of what to expect if you join us in Ancelcourt!

How many players do you think can work in an event? 8 - 12 players would be ideal, to not oversize or under-power the groups going in. Did you like the old 'bounty board' monster hunting events? I was not around for these monster hunting events, but I am sure they were great! Bounty Monsters are always a good edition, especially when it adds experiences for those RPing as Monster Hunters and the like. What is your opinion on PvE in events? Being a Guild Wars 2 player, I feel that PvE is essential to a great storyline. Having us go to this new land, learn more about a previously unknown culture, discover new plants and animals, even learning new types of magic would really add to the immersion of it all! What do you think of allowing some events, such as dungeons and fights, to be repeatable to allow different groups to experience the same event? This would be an excellent idea, especially for those who live in different time zones! What is your opinion on large event storylines? How can they be improved? I think that large event storyline would progress the story nicely, guiding us towards a epic ending to this "Expansion" of sorts. Perhaps it could be improved by allowing multiple decisions or choices that the character/groups can make on their own, to drive their personal story in one way or the other. I also like the idea proposed earlier, that each nation should be allowed initially to discuss how to deal with these new antagonists.

Yeah, I loved this event and thought that someone should write something about it! It was fun, since I was on my noble woman, to jump up on a table and /s whilst all the guards were trying to smash the bugs to death!

"The Amaranthine Beetle" Origin and Known Facts: It is unknown if the Amaranthine beetle is in close relation to the scarab, but it shares with this other breed of beetle a similar shape, size, and dark coloring. The armor of this beetle is a dark, yet glowing shade of purple, protecting it's inner skeleton and making it hard for other creatures to crush or eat. It is quick to move and, seemingly, craves biting the flesh of creatures it finds threatening. The bites are known thus far to only cause prolonged pain around the site of the bite, little is known about the long-term or short-term side effects. Recently surfaced, these beetles are still elusive and hard to track, but scholars have already deduced that these large insects burrow deep within the Earth, perhaps attracted to sewers and areas with waste. Seeming to travel in massive groups, these beetles are seemingly drawn to other animal's activity and sense danger at their presence , creatures like humans and elves being prime targets for these vicious beasts. Sighting(s): *A previous attack on Courland by these beetles was made a few years ago, though the events were not recorded and thus not much is known about this initial attack.* 1553 - The capitol city of Courland, Iralis, was attacked by a large 100-sum swarm of the Amaranthine Beetles, a large host having to mass before the insects could be terminated. They sprouted up from the ground, and traveled in packs to cover more areas. They were able to climb steps with ease, biting several peasants and nobles alike, though the effects of these wounds are still unknown. A couple dozen escaped back underground, digging under the dirt and gravel. They have not been seen since but some worry that these insects have made a home underneath the newly-built city. (ooc:) And that is my first Lore entry/submission! I was inspired to do this because of the "Beetle" event that occurred today in Courland, where hundreds of purple beetles attacked the city from underground. Even if this doesn't get approved, do give me feedback about what you think. I thought adding a "still being researched and studied" element would be interesting, since one of my persona's friends was bitten and I am intrigued to RP what happens to a subject when bitten and then recording it here! I love writing & creating lore for other games, and I think this was a nice start for me on lore-crafting LOTC Style! Enjoy! ^__^

"The Cousins of The Fair Eagle" Gwyn Warlai sat at her desk, readying a parchment and quill for the letter she planned to write to her cousins in the country. The lord who was courting her for marriage had requested that she ask them to move in with her and join the main branch of the Warlai Family, and she could not say no to that. She dipped the quill in the thick ink, beginning to write on the parchment as her handmaiden, Aurabella, brought her a cup of tea. Dear Uncle Qarlton, I know we have not seen each other for quite some time, and I know Father has kept you away from us for a longer while still. However, after his death and the death of Phineas, I need family with me just now. I miss you and your family, I miss being around my own blood, and I hope you will accept by suggestion. I have recently moved into a large manor in Felsen, and I would enjoy it very much if you came to live with me, along with your family. The lord who is courting me wishes to get to know you all better, and reassure him that his future wife's family will continue on. I beseech you to heed my words, and I hope to see and welcome you to Felsen within a week's time. With love, x Gwyndolyn Warlai Gwyn signs the bottom of the parchment, then rolls it up and ties it with a green ribbon. Handing it to Aurabella for sending, she picks up her tea and takes a long sip, unsure of how her distant cousins have changed since she last saw them. ((OOC:)) So, the time has come for me to recruit anyone who is willing to take up roles as members of the Warlai Family. You will live in the Warlai Manor, located in Felsen, and I will have Mylas give you all keys to the home's doors. Basically, I just need more Warlais' to keep me company! ^__^ Listed Below are the Roles I need to fill: Please respond below in this format, I will speak with you on Skype (TheMostGinger) about your role once you apply:

3rd Mayoral Election of Felsen
MunaZaldrizoti replied to Z3r05t4r's topic in Vailor Roleplay Archive
((Username: TheMostGinger )) Name: Sylas Myrrdin Age: 18 Profession: Minstrel/Educated in Stewardship Speech: To the good people of Felsen, I speak to you in this time of election and leadership. Felsen has been the very heart of this Empire since it's 5th reincarnation began with Emperor John I, the citizens of this grand city being the very reason it has succeeded and done so well! Though I am a former minstrel, I have lived in this noble city long enough to know what it's people need and what needs to be done to further the great legacy that Maer Mylas has left behind. I am also responsible for the pamphlet you might have seen around the city, a guide for those who are new to Felsen and wish to find a home here! If you should vote for me, I promise to improve the living conditions of those in Copper Court, improve commerce and trade within the city, and improve the Watch's overall size to prevent crime within our great city's walls. I want to improve the amount of people living in our city as well, welcoming more people and businesses in on a weekly basis. By doing this, I hope to bring new kinds of amenities to the city, adding a bit more variety to it's streets and marketplaces. I also plan to use my stewardship education in order to manage a small expansion of the city, which shall be discussed with not only his Imperial Majesty, but all of you as well! I want to speak for the people and to the people, and I hope that you might choose me to be Maer so I might accomplish just that! x Sylas Myrrdin -
~~x~~ Welcome to Felsen! ~~x~~ Introduction: Felsen is, above all, the capitol of the Holy Oren Empire and home to the Emperor himself. Established early in the settling of Vailor, this extravagant and impressive city is a symbol of human perseverance and strength. For those looking to take a look at Felsen and perhaps become a citizen of this great imperial city, here is a guide on the places to know and the people to meet in the crown jewel of the Empire! Felsen Farmlands and Dour Watch: When arriving from another land or simply taking a cart from The Cloud Temple, you will first see the many vast fields of wheat, watermelons, pumpkins, and carrots that surround the city itself, the farmers of the Empire keeping their crops up to the highest standard year-round. Towards the city limits, you will find the array of carts and carriages awaiting to carry you to the major duchies and counties located in the Empire, Courland & Leone being places that I would recommend visiting after settling in our fair city! On your way towards the city gates, be sure to gaze upon our Statue of Establishment, after perhaps you might take some tea in Miss Aurabella Grey's Tea House! Main Street and Saint Emma's Bastille: After passing through the grand gates of Felsen, you will come upon the main street of the city, lined with shops and businesses fit for any taste. If you're in need of medical assistance after a long journey, visit the Felsen Clinic run by Vlad and Vanessa Shade. If you need to store mina or take out a loan, visit the large Bank of Marin, newly opened and ready to serve you. As you visit these places and take a look at the many stalls that can be found along the street as well, you might come upon the great military fortress known as Saint Emma's Bastille. This place is home to the Felsen Watch, a sworn brotherhood of men who seek to protect the city from all harms and danger. The Commandant and his men are always on patrol, so feel free to report anything strange you might see around the city, or simply just say hello! Felsen Square and The Three Districts: The Felsen Square is filled to bursting with stalls and carts where merchants sell their wares, varying from simple leather scraps from diamonds mined from deep within the ground. The city's tavern can also be found here, always offering a new beverage or two to satisfy a thirsty traveler. Off the square, the three districts can be found. Copper Court, the poorer area of the city and where most peasantry and low-pay workers can be found. Many thieves live in this area, so most would recommend you steer clear of this area. Steel Lane, where the middle class resides in relative comfort. Many here often work at the Palace, own a shop in the city, or are members of the Felsen Watch. And finally The Gold District, the wealthiest area of the city and where most burghers live. Though no shops are in this area, it is the cleanest of the three, and also hold Saint Daniel's Church. People of note who live here are the holy Father Charles Horen, the notorious Gwyn Warlai, and occasionally the Archbishop. The Imperial Palace - Ancelcourt: Behind the city square, with gates shut tight, lies the Imperial Palace of House Horen and the Empire. Known to all as Ancelcourt, this grand abode is home to the Imperial Family and it's court. Many public hearings, trials, and appointments are held here, and the throne room is always bustling with life and, if you're ambitious, intrigue as well. The gardens of the Palace are it's crowning jewel, filled with lush plants and flowers to suit every taste. If allowed inside, the Palace rooms are grand as well, the Dining Hall and the Emperor's chambers being the greatest rooms of note. The Felsen Docks: Located right next to Copper Court is the docks and shipyard of Felsen, erupting with ships and small boats to take you to lands far and unheard of. Trade is often conducted here, but like in the Copper District, beware of the potential false sailor or thief. Come Visit Felsen, and join our growing Community! Signed, Sylas Myrrdin "Just a Noble Citizen and a Handsome Minstrel!"

The Loyalist's Quest for Cascadia - Cancelled

Gwyn, whilst pulling down more signs for burning, sees the letter and recognizes the blue ribbon. "Even the Dove Maiden dislikes me. But what she says is wrong. I have given up on these ambitious ideas, I want to earn back my respect." She takes the letter, tying it back up and placing it in her pocket.- 4 replies

Gwyn Warlai sat in front of her hearth, burning the signs she had made only a day before. Mumbling, she throws two, three, then five in at one time, the "Quest for Cascadia" curling and crumbling as the fire engulfs it. "Another idea, gone to hell." she shrugs, throwing in another pile. Being dead for a while wasn't so bad, but now she had revealed herself by posting these signs, and it worried her. "They thought me dead, now what will I do?" When all the signs are burned, she rises and goes to pour herself a drink from a decanter on the table. Taking a few sips, her head is already swimming. "I haven't had wine in so long," she whispers, "Am I drunk already?" Setting down the glass, she looks out the window. The city of Felsen was loud today, as usual, and it smelled of warm food. "I am done with this social climbing." She wraps her hand around something on the sill, a small wooden star made by her father so long ago. She looks at, wrapping her fingers around it, before throwing from the window. "I did all of this for Father, soiled my reputation for a promise to Father." She begins to tear. Her father, Phineas Warlai, had wanted her to rise high under any means, to spite the merchant he knew was coming to kill him. She had not wanted to, but what could she say to a man that was, unbeknownst to her, murdered only a few days later. "I need to begin anew, I need to restore myself and my reputation." She nods to herself, thinking of her friend, Renee de Aryn. "Renee, that is who I need to help right now. My only friend." She nods, turning to retrieve her cloak and begin her walk to the de Aryn Manor. (OOC): Yes, her ambitious angle is over. It has greatly effected her storyline and, after her return and realizing that people still don't think to highly of her, I think she will be going the more genuine route.

Sylas Myrrdin sits in his hovel in Drusco, hearing of this diet from a friend. "Perhaps, as a steward, I will be able to attend these kinds of things," He chuckles, "If I can rid myself of this damn lute!" He pulls out the instrument he had just damned, strumming a new tune on the strings.
