  1. Emily penned a letter in response to the king of Balian.

"The children are dying and saying they might not make it to adulthood, if they were 12 or older, I would have no issues with the matter as they're plenty old enough to at least know their ABCs and speak properly. Two six year olds are still unacceptable." She put her pen down sighing deeply, the Waldenian just wanted justice for those who were too young to advocate for themselves.

In my time in Balian, I came across a pair of children who were both six years old. They were bragging about how they'd both fought in the war against Veletz and won. Children who should be playing with sticks and holding onto their mother's hand as they're walked through the town proper. Ser Robert de Lyons, who fought at the bitter age of eight and still has memories of the war he fought in.

I ask you, my fellow humans

Why do we allow children to go into war and risk making it to adulthood?

When the only thing that should haunt these children are ghost stories and fights with their siblings. Why do we allow these impressionable young kinder to fight for their lives when they should only be fighting over who gets to sit by their parents at dinnertime?

They do it all in the name of their nations, praying that one day they will be recognized for their hard work when the only hard work they should be doing is assisting their father in his daily errands or their mother with cooking and cleaning.

The world is a bitter place when children must fight to keep their families alive.

It is an awful place where humanity has lost it's mind. These children should be learning about GOD, not fighting GOD's war in his stead.

Albéric du Lac scanned over the invite with a mix of pride and yet apprehension. Hastily, he would write back to his younger brother.

Upon reading the invitation, Elaine Novellen d'Petra du Loc or whatever she felt like going by these days gasped. She smiled at her husband softly. "Albert, your brother is the Pontiff? What a shock! You must be so very proud of him."

  4. Marlena d'Arkent gasped at the public missive before looking to her husband Gabriel. "Totally deserved, really. If du cheated on mich, Ich'd ruin ihr entire life and everyzhing du held dear. Ich have nozhing but respect for zhat voman und doing what she needed to do to get away from cheating."

  5. I miss the auction house. Now I have to find empty stalls to sell stuff only a few people will ever see. . .

And finding people selling stuff I actually want is so rare, please oh wise LOTCers lead me to the shops that sell girly stuff for my very girlified personas.

  6. Spoiler

I'm so sorry but this is hilarious. I love this so much my character has to comment on this.

Phoibe looked confused about this missive. She was down in Numendil for an event some few saint's days ago and came across this missive and giggled lightly. "Seems a bit too on the nose, doesn't it?"

  7. Marlena d'Arkent had a smile on her face.

"They will find a way. This time, to leave. To keep them there would be unjust. They deserve a chance to start over somewhere else. Not where she can find them. I pray you leave soon, Konstantin and family."

    Hi everyone,

This time I'm actually leaving. Throughout the past two months, my schedule has been getting busier and busier, and I no longer have time for LotC anymore. Truthfully, work has completely swamped me and I want to focus more on my IRL relationships & future grad school. I'm really grateful for the opportunity that @Telanir@ScreamingDingo@Llir and @Heero gave me in the first place, and I'm even more grateful to have worked alongside them as well as@HogoBojo and @squakhawk

@The60th is now the Moderation Admin. I have my full faith in him to do better than I did in every categorical aspect of administrating. I will be sticking around as admin until November 1 to help him transition into the role. After that, I'll be a moderator for a month and then fully make my departure from staff.

    ---

Thank you for this opportunity to serve you, and I wish you all nothing but the best.

For the short time you've been my mod admin, you've been wonderful. Thanks for your time @itdontmatta, hope to see you around again man!

  9. Elara's mother had been close by to her during her time in Haense shivering like a leaf.

"Ei want to go home! Vy must be joking mei if vy think Ei will be stuck here without the rest of my children. Where are they?"

  10. Marlena d'Arkent gave a heavy sigh. After the loss of her nephew there wasn't much that got her out of her shell. Then news rang of her father in law's passing. Upon reading the will she gasped, standing up at once.

"Gabriel!" She shouted. "Ve are peers? Und mein Teddy ist zhe heir? Oh mutter vould be so proud!"

  11. Richard's aunt had spent some time wasting away in her home with her children Araceli and Peter with another on the way. She was happy, despite everything that had happened to her family in the last several years. Marlena d'Arkent was reading over letters, missives, and the like she'd received and were spread around her respective nations of Balian and Aaun both of which she frequently visited and kept up to date with even if she wasn't in Aaun with her family as much as she used to be.

Upon seeing Richard's name, she had hoped the news would be good. Perhaps he'd had another child or the von Leopolds had been promoted but instead she was met with an instant wave of grief. Marlena hunched over the desk, reading the very last pieces of the notice that her nephew had passed. Richard, who had been beside Marlena all throughout her life and only a few years her senior had always felt more like a brother than a nephew. He was one of her closest family members and Marlena felt awful she hadn't seen him in so long.

She had been taking a stance of indifference for so long, as if nothing about her family back in Aaun bothered her even a little bit. This time she could not pretend to be indifferent, Marlena was devestated.

"Nein, ich refuse to believe zhis ist true. Richard ist strong, he ist kind. He vould nicht be dead so soon, vhen he ist still so young. Vhen ve aren't even sixty yet."

  12. Ceceliya Halcourt shrugged simply. To her this seemed second nature with all the splits, coups, and drama she'd seen since a child. Though she felt rather bad for her husband and children.
